cw: talks of having kids
Bakugou lays sprawled out on your bed as you flitter around the room, moving from your closet to your dresser and back in a hurry of movements. You’re doing a bit of spring cleaning (yes, even in the winter), and Bakugou decided to come over and help, even though he’s just been laying around the whole time.
He had a rough patrol yesterday, even sports a few bruises on his ribs, so you let him take it easy, throwing him one of your old pink scarf hat combos with the little bunny ears on top. You don’t expect him to wear it, but the image of him laying against your bed with the floppy ears on top of his head makes you smile anyway.
You go back to your drawer, pulling everything out in order to throw some stuff away and reorganize the remaining things. At the bottom of the drawer though, do you find some old clothes when you were a baby. It’s been here for years now, after your parents gifted them to you, just in case you’d wanna use them for your future kids. It’s just collecting dust in the bottom of your drawer though, honestly, and you pull the tiny little purple and white checkered onesie out, examining it and the little bonnet underneath with a small frown.
“Who the hell is that for? ‘Cause it sure as hell ain’t fitting your big ass head.” You hear Bakugou call from your bed, your head whipping around to face him and his cheesy little grin. You narrow your eyes and poke your tongue out at him, throwing him the little combo as you turn to get the rest of the baby clothes out.
“Says the one whose head almost tore his mothers cooter in half during birth.” Thank you Mistuki for the information, you think to yourself, smiling an evil little smile that Bakugou frowns softly at.
“And it’s my old baby clothes. My folks gave it to me when I moved out, said I could use it for my own future gremlins.” You smile when you pick up the little yellow booties in your dresser, another little bonnet with a tie underneath the chin, and a pair of shorts that were entirely too cute and tiny. “Think I’m gonna throw it out, though.”
“Why would you do that?” Bakugou asks quietly, suddenly behind you, his chest against your back as he gently plucks the shorts from your hands to examine them closer. You look at him from over your shoulder, at the soft look that falls on his face, how his rough thumb rubs over the still soft material in his hands, how his eyebrows lose their crease and his mouth tilts up just so in the corners.
“We’re not having kids any time soon,” you say, your voice tacking on a silent ‘right?’ at the end of it. Bakugou doesn’t say anything for a long while, but he blinks down at you, looking so ridiculously cute in your pink hat, holding your baby clothes. You hand him the booties in his other hand and he takes them, so gentle, with such care, it makes your stomach do somersaults.
“Maybe we should talk more about that.” He whispers softly, looking at you from under his lashes, his garnet eyes searching your own. You nod though, stroking gently at the shorts he still holds with tender care, a smile tugging at your lips.
“Yeah,” you mutter, leaning up to press your mouth against his own. “Maybe we should.”

For the ask, XanLow and LeoKumi- 20 and which animal would they bring.
OTP ask game
20: Who randomly brings home a stray puppy/kitten to adopt?
Leokumi: okay this is so funny. uh. probably takumi and with a puppy. i think he'd like, walk past it on his way to [something] and then be thinking about it all day. and then he'd go back for it, and have all sorts of internal dilemmas about it, and then finally take it home and be like leo shut UP about it (leo hasn't said anything yet) and then they'd have a puppy. i tend to hc leo having either pet cats or pet ferrets so them keeping the puppy would probably depend on it getting along with them. but if it does :3 puppy dog time !! leo only laughs at takumi a little bit for this
Xanlow: laslow on this one. i think it could be either a dog or a cat but i have multiple aus where he has a pet dog so probably a doggy here, too! i do kinda think laslow would see a stray dog, sad, in the rain, and then pick it up right away. im imagining this scenario as modern, and i think he'd like. call xander and be like I HAVE.... DONE SOMETHING..... PLEASE DON'T BE MAD AT MEEEE and xander comes home to see laslow giving a random dog a bath. xander has his cat of course so again them even keeping it depends on if they get along. but if all goes well i think xander would be who then gets them on track to get a vet appointment, vaccines, etc and then they have an ouppy

it's hard sometimes not to raaaaage at how my disability has disabled me lmao
likeee.. my favourite hobby Ever is reading, ever since I learned to read, but even then my ability to concentrate made it difficult. in high school, I went to such lengths to be able to read. I rmb figuring out that my attention span was able to let me read 10 pages per session, with about 3 sessions per day, so I could read 30 pages each day. I would keep myself sustained by keeping an eye on the page numbers. it also took about 2 minutes to read each page. now, with ritalin, I almost never have to look at page numbers!! it's great!!
but it still takes me like a month to read a book :( used to take longer sometimes though!! it was so painful. I wanted to be a writer, tried to do an English lit degree but obvs couldn't handle it bc I couldn't read fast enough. so I had to let that go.
I am cursed with a vicious interest in so many topics, and I buy soo many books on so many specific things I'm interested in, but I have to choose the 10-12 books (or less) I read a year very carefully. and people I know or meet will recommend or give me books when they find out how much I love reading, and I have to dodge the question when they later ask me about it to hide that I am unable to read it lol

hypothetical struggle between Christianity and paganism in bbc merlin? 👀 one that's very neurodivergent? 👀 do tell
Okay, so Athurian times take place in the early dark ages. Which was probably a weird time for religion in Britain. Because the Roman occupation had just come to an end, leaving behind the structure of catholicism at least with those in positions of power. But religious beliefs were still in the process of blending together with the local practices and other religions, leading to some odd gnostic beliefs. Obviously, bbc merlin doesn't talk about Christianity within Camelot but I think we can assume the catholic church would have a position at the round table. Presumably, Arthur would grow up instructed in catholic belief, go to mass, and have bishops or whatever advising him. He would rule by Devine right, sanctioned by the pope and magic would be characterized as demonic. And that somehow raises the stakes for me, imaging magical merlin within the walls of a very catholic Camelot.
I just have this image of merlin in the back of a cathedral as Arthur attends mass. Kneeling in this beautiful building, head bowed low as the congregation sings praise to a foreign God in a foreign tongue. A God that would apparently have merlin tied to a stake and burned alive. And merlin choking out his empty prayers, echoing in the verbal praise under the isolation of his nonbelief and magical association. Full of fear and venom.
The hypothetical struggle I imagine is one of catholic enforcement pushed by Arthur's religious advisors and Arthur's morality. Because Arthur is a good person and slaughtering a people on the basis religion is insane. So, what does it mean for Arthur if he stops listening to his advisors and starts accepting magic? He has to contend with a spiritual struggle, not just the secular issues presented in the show. And I would looooooove to watch that. The bending of Arthur's beliefs into something more flexible and less rigidly Christian according to the church of the time

One thing that goes crazy is those distant screaming calls for help you can hear in the background of off to the races. Like the whole basic premise is this lolita inspired dynamic between this young lonely girl and this much older man where she swears that nobody else in the world would even have her except for him and this in itself is a feat because she’s ‘crass’ and has a ‘broke down life’ etc and the whole thing is entrenched in denial. He loves her in spite of all these things wrong with her, all he asks is that she does what he wants, he’s like an omnipresent figure for her - watches her in the bathroom, getting dressed etc. and the almost hyperbolic way she describes herself smitten with him and how she believes she needs him, she’s nothing without him, the dependency borders on the paternal. It’s not that she’s unable to leave it’s that she believes she has nowhere else to go, he’s made it so she’s so enmeshed that she simply thinks she could not survive without him. he’s ‘saving’ her from herself and she’s in even more debt to him for it (sorry that im misbehaving!!!) and imo she’s almost a parody of herself bc she doubles down on this narrative that’s she’s a seductress and insane and crazy and she needs looking after by this mature older man when in reality she’s so troubled, under constant observation but she twists it so it’s like she’s running away to be caught by him rather than to escape. And in the end her calls for help can barely be heard under the passionate repetition that he’s her one true love
