honestly not sure yet what this page will be about(i do know i just don't want to admit to myself it'll be a random stream of consciousness à la James Joyce) but i thought I'd make a kind of introductory post about myself at least so here goes.(fandoms are listed at the bottom cuz at the heart of it tumblr is a place for obsessed freaks like myself). also I'm new to tumblr so its ways and etiquette are still unknown to me. but i will learn promise. anyway.

Name's Dorian/Bree(still deciding so take your pick and I'll see what sticks). I'm omnisexual aroace(went down the traditional pipeline surprise surprise) and go by she/her tho atm whole gender identity is kind of a mystery to me so that could change. edit: trying they/them rn to see how it feels

I'm finishing high school this year so my life'll be a bit hectic for a while(was for the last 4 years tbh). Cause I'm interested in one thing too many and can't make decisions to save my life and also cause I'm an anxious mess who can't relax, I'm taking a gap year. I'm planning on getting some rest to get back what remains of my mental health (which sadly ain't much but such is life). I'm gonna go travelling around a bit(rn pretty sure about Norway, UK, France & myb Japan) and honestly if I make any friends on here it'd be sick if someone joined me so that's always open.

Then next year, when I finish my soulsearching, I'll prolly go study sth cuz that's how the world works. I'd love to be either a writer or film director (or myb a therapist). My dream is to study film in UK(as a career writing and filmmaking is pretty much a tie, but filmmaking sounds just a tiny smidge more stable. Not giving up on writing in the least, but I feel like studying is more necessary for film than writing?) I love watching series and films not only because of the story, but because of the way it's told. I love to overanalyze the storytelling, the characters and different dynamics between them(and honestly just everything about the film) or read others' post overanalyzing it, so a film/series(does that exist?) critic sounds like an awesome job as well. But I'd like to be in the middle of the making and tell my own stories. Cinema's a bit sad in my country (non-existent more like) so studying abroad sounds like the only real option if I wanna make it in the industry. It's also an opportunity to meet more people interested in the stuff that I am so hopefully it works out. Fingers crossed 🤞🤞

Obviously, if one's obsessed with cinema, you can hardly avoid falling down the rabbit hole that are the fandoms. I'm currently fixated on Good Omens and would love to find some humans I can discuss it with cuz my irl friends(tho I love them with all my heart) just don't go temporary insane over fandoms the way I do.

alright.

i had three pop in my head immediately, as soon as i processed the question.

first, katherine. ofc. and she is technically a mom, even though i forgot about nadiya at first.

she's both a badass and super hot (my bisexual awakening at the age of 12, actually), so she definitely qualifies for this category.

second, bonnie. not a mom, although she would make an amazing mom, given the chance. i was just watching 8x9 and she looked so freaking gorgeous, i had to pause to catch my breath (literally, my jaw dropped).

and all respect to kat, but let's not forget 1x5, the car wash episode… she looked fking amazing in that bikini, like, i died.

also, the entirety of s7, she was both sassy and gorgeous. i was so happy she got a chance to shine (finally) & she killed it. long overdue but soooo worth the wait.

she's always gorgeous, always badass, and like i said, would make a wonderful mom.

third, elena, but specifically season 6. idk if it was the single life that brought out her confidence or what, but she was glowing in that season.

i wasn't a fan of her most of the time, but she had huge mommy / milf energy throughout s6. i can't explain it, it's just vibes.

now, since you said tvd universe, i must also add rebekah and hayley to the mix.

rebekah is totally a qualifier for many of the same reasons katherine is, minus the actual kid. i fucking love her, and given the chance, she'd be a great mom, too.

hayley… loved her in the first 1-2 ish seasons.. liked her less when it felt like she was leading on both elijah and werewolf boy / nathan parsons wtf was his name.. JACKSON, that was it.

wasn't a fan of that.

she was a great mom to hope, always defended her daughter, and was very protective towards the people she loved, but she's only a contender for my list.

before i move onto dilfs, i must also add a note about caroline. i just remembered she's a mom, too, but tbh, while i love her to death and she's a great mom, she seems too babygirl-ish to be a milf. this could be bc the whole alaric/caroline thing freaks me out, or maybe it's bc the gemini coven forced pregnancy on her, but i just don't feel milf energy from her.

she was absolutely glowing, and beautiful when she was pregnant, and i adore her to death, but she doesn't fit the vibe.

dilfs

now onto dilfs. i have less contenders.

first… elijah. huge dilf energy, like, insane.

always very protective of his family, of hayley and hope, of his morals and his home… whatever is important, he will defend it.

the suits only add to the dilfishness. that's it. that's the point.

certain scenes, especially throughout the originals are so dilf energy, it sends me to the moon.

the one where they're at the farm or whatever and he's rebuilding fence boards, every scene where he's drinking bourbon, whenever he rolls up his sleeves to deal with someone, or rips out a heart... you know what i mean?

second, you know i have to mention my boy kai…

that scene in 6x22 when he's in that suit… plz for the love of god put a baby in me. 🫣

he's so hot in that scene i can't actually handle it.

as long as they're no threat, i think he could be a good dad (but i don't think he'd hurt his own kids).

i was tagged by @sorrowfulliming and @heesulovebot thank you both so much, I had a lot of fun doing this list! ❤️ I tried to choose some shows that have had kind of played a significant role in my life in one way or another, maybe you'll learn a bit more about me through this idk

one tree hill (2003 - 2012) i feel like this one is the most important show if you want to know me. It's half of my personality. I grew up with this show and all of these characters mean the absolute world to me, I relate to them on a deep level and I've rewatched all 9 seasons of this so many times that if you tell me a quote from the show I can tell you who said it and in what context and season (maybe even episode) it was said. It's probably the best teen drama ever made and except for lack of representation (which i can excuse to some extent because it started airing in the early 00s) this is really something everyone can and should watch. Nothing beats the friendships in this show. I'm still searching for the brooke & haley to my peyton tbh

the vampire diaries (2009 - 2017) this show is very special to me because I started learning english more intensely and on my own outside of school because I couldn't wait until they were showing the eps with german dub half a year after they originally aired. I had to wait 4 years until the show made stefan & caroline a couple and no other ship has ever come close to how I felt (and still feel) about them. best friends to lovers will always get me and they did it so well. we do not talk about anything after 7x05, the show ended there for me tyvm. they were by far the best part of the show for me since I dislike a lot of the decisions the show made a lot of the time. but they were the reason I created a tumblr account back in 2015 that I've since forgot the name and password for 😂 it was an account dedicated to making icons for tvd. ugh i miss shows with multiple seasons and 24 eps for each season

blueming (2021) this bl drama is always gonna be important to me since it made me decide to choose film as the thing I want to major in. I got really into independent movies after watching blueming because the cinematography of it astounded me and I wanted to learn more about it and how to create beautiful shots like those in the drama myself. I also rewatch it frequently. siwon is very dear to me.

taxi driver (2021 - 2023) i debated if i should put this or the devil judge/flower of evil/happiness here because i love them all dearly and they're all tied for my fav kdramas of all time but this one was the first kdrama i watched weekly as it aired and I was so obsessed with it and its cases and characters. i love darker themes and case-by-case dramas, it's my favorite genre when it comes to korean shows. kim doki is such a dear character to me and i love the way jehoon plays him. words can't describe how happy i am that it's back on my screen and just as good as it always was. (plus pyo yejin is one of my biggest celebrity crushes i love her sm)

the haunting of hill house (2018) one of the greatest shows ever made and imo the best of its genre. ep 6 of this show especially impressed me so much because it just consists of multiple one-shots. i love mike flanagan, he's my favorite director and if you're into psychological horror i more than recommend watching this and midnight mass because they're both masterpieces. mike has this way of connecting horror and sadness and he does it so so well. I could write essays about his filmmaking and he's my biggest inspiration when it comes to film.

my engineer (2020) this was the first bl I was really invested in, I even bought tickets to the online fanmeeting which i usually never do for anything. these characters and actors really helped me get through the lockdowns in 2020. one of the few bls where they managed to give everyone their fair screen time and made everyone's story enjoyable to watch. also very important part of why i loved watching it was the lack of fanservice they made the actors do and that we got them all in one room reacting to every episode together. it was the best and i wish more shows would do it.

light on me (2021) oh what a show. even though I don't like the ending and I think the last episode had some continuity issues and felt like a second thought in some ways I thorougly enjoyed the ride this drama took me on. the runtime allowed for the show to explore its characters well and made us able to connect with them. i miss that for newer shows a lot. shin daon is and probably will always be my favorite k-bl character, he felt so real and I could see an old version of myself in him. he deserved a lot better and I hope he's off to college living his best life, he deserves it.

one day at a time (2017 - 2020) let me just say that I am NOT a sitcom enjoyer. shows that are targeted to make me laugh usually don't and I get bored early on because I don't get the appeal. nothing against these shows, they just don't speak to me. HOWEVER odaat is a huge exception because I was hooked to the well-balanced use of humor and deep conversations and topics portrayed in this show. plus it also made me laugh!! and sometimes also cry both in the span of 5 minutes. these characters have a special place in my heart. elena halped me a lot in my journey of self-discovery and I loved the way the show portrayed her journey.

bonus: (i know this technically makes it 9 but i didn't know where to put it)

wish you (2021) I'm adding this as well but extra since I only ever watch the movie version of it. it's imo the only kbl that works as a movie. even though not a lot of people love this, it is my most rewatched k-bl (and I think bl in general). I adore Sang Yi, he's a lot like me and watching him be an awkward mess in front of his crush and idol is very cute to watch. the OST for this show is also so good i listen to it all of the time.

Something I have noticed with TVD/TO fans is how there seems to be a lot of misplaced hate and criticism towards Caroline, mainly from Bonnie fans. Saying things like how she was useless and irrelevant, took away screentime from other people (namely Bonnie), was in scenes she didn't need to be in. Also blaming her for the issues with Forwood, Klaroline, Tyler and his character development and why he was disliked by the fandom. 

And even going so far as to say that Tyler was just used as a prop to give her popularity and make her a fan favorite, that Tyler is the only reason people liked her. When she was already liked and a fan favorite before Forwood even became a thing. But the one take that rubbed me the wrong way the most was someone saying that Caroline remained jealous of Elena, ebem after turning and that she wished Tyler was with her the way Stefan and Damon were with Elena. There is literally nothing that supports that notion. 

I won't ever argue or deny that TVD and TO definitely had issues with racism. We all know Bonnie was treated horribly and deserved better. And I will always point the finger at the writers for that, never a character. A character doesn't write itself or the show. Another thing I don't understand about Bonnie fans is how they call Delena and Klaroline out for being toxic and abusive and hate Elena and Caroline for having been with those guys, but yet still shipped Bamon and Klonnie.

Okay, so it's only toxic and abusive when the white girls get with these guys, but not for the only WOC, who already gets treated so horribly as it is, and in the most racist and disgusting way possible? They honestly just come off as pick mes and so judgmental with internalized misogyny. If we were really being honest with ourselves, we'd all realize that these girls deserved much better and shouldn't have ever been paired with the likes of Damon or Klaus. 

Anyone with enough common sense knows that the real reason characters like Bonnie, Tyler, Matt, Jeremy, and even Caroline herself were sidelined and didn't get as much as screentime was because of that drawn out and pointless love triangle that should've never even been the main premise of the show to begin with. It's easier if people would just say "I don't like Caroline" or "She wasn't my favorite", rather than blame her for things that were out of her hands. 

In the end, I'm glad Bonnie didn't end up with Damon or Klaus, but especially Damon. Because it showed she's a hell of much a better friend and has way more class than Elena, who not only flaunted her relationship with an abuser in front of everyone, but also completely disregarded Caroline's feelings on the matter, slut shamed and victim blamed her for the abuse she endured, and expected Caroline to get over it and accept it as is. 

Luckily I did not encounter any Caroline haters who were Bonnie stans, but while all of the girls were victims of Thirstday misogyny, Bonnie was clearly hammered way harder by misogynoir, I feel bad for her fans for getting so shafted tbh.

Y/n climbed out of the car, walking past her older brothers without wanting to listen. The entire trip there, they’d squabbled about Elena, about how they felt and how Stefan was going to deal with her. Needless to say, Y/n was about ready to plug her ears or slap duct tape over their mouths – it was a pointless argument they kept having. 

“Damon, seriously, we have something to do, can we just drop it?” Stefan said, not having made it two steps from the car.

“No, Stefan. You’ve been avoiding it ever since we got in the car–”

“Shut the hell up!” Y/n turned on her heel, bridge of her nose pinched between her fingers as she rubbed at the headache forming. “It does not matter! You both love her, you both want her safe. Okay? Great.” Her brothers looked at her as if she were crazy, Stefan’s brows lowered and Damon’s eyes wide. “I’ve listened to you two argue over a girl – with the same face, might I add – for a century now. I don’t care about who loves her more, I just care about getting her back home safe. Can we do that?” Her shoulders were up, tone exasperated and quiet, “Is it okay if we do that?”

“Yeah,” Stefan answered, nodding, head down and walking toward her.

“Whatever you say, little sis,” Damon bit, but she knew he was hiding behind his tongue – he knew she was right, he’d just never admit it. Sibling rivalry at its finest. 

They all walked to a dilapidated house that sat in the middle of a rather dense forest-y area. The windows were boarded up, the walls covered top to bottom in moss and shrubbery. As Y/n walked on to the porch, the boards creaked underneath her boots, a stench of rotten, wet wood invading her senses. “No better place to hide somebody, right?”

Touching her hand to the doorknob, she gave it a tug. Locked. Of course. 

“Guys, we need another–”

A shatter of glass took her attention away from the front entrance, coming from around the side of the house. Walking to the source, she glared at Damon, looking rather proud of himself. “After you, m’lady.”

Biting back a small snicker – no matter how annoyed she got, he always found a way to make her laugh, she and Stefan went through the window, followed by Damon. The house was just as beaten and broken inside as it was outside. A second more of looking around, then all three Salvatore’s stopped, Damon placing a finger to his lips. 

Voices.

Scattering, all three of them went to different corners of the room, Y/n and Stefan traveling up the stairs, and Damon into the parlor. Her grip tightened around the stake-shooter in her hand, holding it closer to her hip. Y/n heard a shout, a man’s voice, then a woman’s, then Elena’s. As soon as they had come into the main entryway, Damon ran behind him, then Stefan in front of him. He threw Elena to the other woman he was with, looking around him, “Rose?”

“I don’t know who they are!” She defended.

“Up here,” Stefan said, opposite Y/n on the staircase. She heard steps up the stairs, could see the suit the man wore, half-shrouded by the wall. 

“Down here,” Damon taunted, making the man turn around. 

He stopped for a minute, looking around the room as if he’d be able to see either of them. “Whatever game you’re playing at here—”

Y/n stepped from around the stairs, quietly, pulling the trigger and sending a stake through the center of his palm. He reeled back, looking down at it and letting out a growl. In seconds, Stefan moved to grab Elena, and Damon grabbed the woman Y/n presumed to be Rose. The man looked back up, anger beginning to rise off of him like steam. 

“To whomever it may concern!” He shouted, looking around, grandstanding. “You may try to defeat me but,” he laughed, “you can’t.”

Y/n came from around the stairs, fully this time, looking the man in the eye. He stopped, a curious smirk on his lips, head tilted. Y/n gripped the shooter, aiming it straight at his heart, taking a breath, and pulling the trigger. The wood soared across the room, the man’s hand stopping it just as the tip pushed against his chest. 

“I warned you,” he taunted, giving her a cocky grin. In a blink, she was down in front of him, another stake in hand. She lunged for his chest, digging it through until she could feel it break his ribs. He groaned, letting out a breath and shoving her to the wall behind him, pinning her there. Grabbing the wood from his chest, he ripped it out, holding eye contact with her, then shoving it into the side of her neck. 

She gripped her throat, strangled breathing making the throbbing worse. The man stared at her for a moment, looking in her eyes. He took in a breath, leaning in just a small bit closer, “I will come for you. And when I do, you will let me in.” 

Stefan came from around the other set of stairs, firing off stake after stake. The man met him in the middle, attempting to disarm him. Stefan lunged forward, sending the both of them rolling down the stairs. Damon was down to meet them, having grabbed the coat rack when everyone’s eyes were on the two fighting, snapping it in half and shoving the man backward.

Y/n moved out of the way just in time, rolling to the side and falling against the ground, sputtering blood onto the dusty wooden floors. Damon shoved the man into the door, digging the broken coat rack through his chest and watching the blood under his skin turn ashen grey. A triumphant smile took over his face, stepping back and admiring his handiwork for a moment. Then Y/n sputtered another cough, ripping the stake from her throat and laying on her back.

Rose took off as soon as Damon turned around, but his focus wasn’t on her. He knelt down to Y/n, who let out a groaned whine, “Son of a bitch.” Her eyes met her brother’s, hooded and tired, “Can we go home?”

“Yeah, yeah,” he laughed, hooking his arms underneath her legs and her chest and picking her up from the floor. Her head fell against his chest, and Stefan came out, Elena in tow. 

“Y/n?” Stefan came over to his sister, looking up to Damon. 

“Stake through the neck,” Damon joked, “hurts like a bitch.” 

Stefan gave him a deadpan look, palm cupping his sister’s cheek as he looked her over. The wound was working its way closed, but she was already passed out against Damon’s chest.

“She’s fine, Stefan,” Damon scoffed, “just needs some rest.”

Y/n woke up on the couch, hissing at the ache in her neck and sitting up. Shaking her head and scrubbing her eyes, she looked to the windows and noticed it was pitch black out.  She sighed, fingers ghosting over her neck as she continued to look around. Her brothers were probably asleep, having left her here instead of taking her to her room. Likely Damon, just to mess with her. 

Standing from the couch, she stretched, groaning and beginning to trudge to the kitchen. She stopped in her tracks whenever she heard a faint knock at the door, focus snapping to it. Walking over, she hesitantly grabbed the doorknob, opening the door and peeking around the side.

“Good evening,” a man said, shrouded in the dark. She opened the door just a little more to see him, the breath catching in her throat. Him. “Care to let me in? It is getting a bit nippy outside, don’t you think?”

Without thinking, she opened the door completely and nodded, eyes trained on his feet as he crossed the threshold. The house hadn’t been owned by humans, there was no need for her to tell him he could verbally – she was regretting that, now. Her eyes trailed up his frame, tracing his figure all the way up to the side of his face.

Sharp jaw, narrowed brown eyes, loose brown hair atop his head. His hands were tucked in his suit, which was slightly dirty. When he turned to her, she saw the rather large hole torn through his dress shirt, exposing a small portion of his skin. 

“Thank you,” he said, lips parted and upturned in a small smirk. “What’s your name?”

She blinked up at him for a moment, still trying to process why she hadn’t called for either of her brothers yet, nor why she let him in in the first place. “Uh,” she mumbled, licking her lips, “Y/n. My name is.. Y/n.”

“I’m Elijah, Y/n,” his head tilted, then he turned toward the living, room, walking in and leaning against the back of the couch with one hand. When he looked toward her again, the same smirk was painted on his face. 

She looked down, arms crossing over her chest as she walked forward to stand in front of him. “I’ve heard about you,” she muttered, “an Original, right?”

“Mm,” he grunted in agreement, eyes looking her over. 

“Now,” she swallowed, leaning against the couch with her hip, brows furrowing, “what does an Original want in Mystic Falls, with me?”

He huffed a chuckle, lips parting again as he tested her resolve with his gaze. When she held it, he gave her a thoughtful frown, “You’re going to help me keep Elena safe.”

She reeled back a small bit, staring up at him in confusion, “You want to keep Elena… safe?” When he nodded, she licked her lips and shook her head, “Help me connect the dots here – you have someone take her, meet them, try to kidnap her, then come to my house, and tell me that you want to keep her… safe. Have I got that right?”

Elijah smiled at her, looking off to the side before refocusing on her, “I have my own motives. I just need your assistance in assuring that the dopplegänger remains unharmed.”

Y/n mirrored his expression, stepping closer to the Original, “Care to indulge? I don’t make promises without details.” 

Elijah’s gaze flicked over her again as he looked down at her, this time slower, tongue darting across his lips. He took in a breath, words lingering in the air before he continued, “I will tell you this – you and your… brothers,” the words came off his lips with a hint of disgust, “will remain unharmed. My motives are simple – keep the girl safe, ensure that this ritual… never happens.”

Y/n studied him for a moment, eyes narrowing in suspicion. “Why me? Why not… Bonnie, or Stefan or Damon? Or hell, Jeremy? That’s her brother.”

He fixed his cufflink, twisting so that his lower back was now what propped him against the couch. “I am not so interested in someone telling her that I was here yet,” he sighed, “besides, they are all… too close to her.”

“What makes you think I won’t tell her, hm?” Y/n’s head tilted to the side, challenging him with her words.

“Because you,” he said, looking at her over his shoulder, “don’t love her the same.”

Y/n looked at the vampire before her in shock, lips parted and breathing shallow. While it was true that she didn’t regard the Gilbert girl with the same affection as her friends and her brothers, she would still do anything to keep her safe. And if that meant telling her Elijah was here, asking about her, then she would. “You don’t know that,” Y/n bargained.

“Oh, but I do,” he said, looking back down at his shoes, “you see, what you did today, at the house, was for your family, not for Elena Gilbert.” He looked up at her again, eyes narrowing for a moment, “You value your brothers over her. That is what I know. Because I would do the same for my own family.” 

Y/n had nothing to say – he had her pegged. She wouldn’t tell Elena, she knew that deep down. Reason being, if she told Elena, she would tell her brothers, and her brothers would go into another frenzy of worry trying to make sure the girl stayed safe. Then they’d do what they always do – put her second. 

“I had a sister,” Elijah said, lowly. “My only sister, in fact.”

“Had?” Y/n looked at him with less crease in her brow, still hesitant, but more willing to hear him out. 

“My brother… my brother killed her,” Elijah sneered, turning toward her and tucking his hand back in his pocket. “And then he hid her, and the rest of my family’s, body. And he ran.”

“...Klaus,” Y/n whispered. “The other Original.” She’d read up on the first family at one time in her life, curious about her own existence. According to the books, Klaus was the oldest, the worst of them all, and his siblings were all… dead. Except for one. 

“Yes,” he said, looking to her. Then he looked away for a moment, sucked a breath through his teeth and said, “Do we have a deal?”

He was doing this for his family. The same reason Y/n did anything that risked her life. They were fighting a similar battle. She could respect that much. Looking down at her hands, she muttered, “Are you going to stay in Mystic Falls?”

He stayed silent for a moment, then nodded, “I believe so.”

“Can– can we meet again?” Her gaze found his once more, her heart nearly beating out of her chest, “I’d like to know more about this ritual… about your family. You.”

His lips parted, brows furrowed. He looked perplexed at her request, confused that she’d even ask such a thing. Then with a tilt of his head, he agreed, “I suppose so. I’ll leave you my number. But, before that, I need to know – do we have a deal?”

She sighed, biting the inside of her lip and then nodding, “Yeah. We have a deal.”

He put his hand out, asking silently for her phone. She obliged, setting it in his palm and watching as he typed the number in, then saved the contact. As he handed it back, he leaned in close to her ear, “Until we meet again, Y/n Salvatore.” 

Then he was gone. Y/n took in a quick breath, staring at the door with furrowed brows. Her heart was nearly beating out of her chest, adrenaline pumping from feeling the rush of him leaving. Looking down at her phone, she saw his number still on the screen, his name written out. Elijah Smith. 

She thought about his choice of last name in her phone… did he even have a last name? Then she realized that he was likely just covering his tracks, making it as inconspicuous as he could. Y/n thought about the idea of seeing him again, wanting to punch herself and congratulate herself at the same time – who’s to say he wouldn’t kill her the next time they saw each other? Who’s to say he would?

a random thought: Hoyt and Jessica being endgame actually kind of surprised me. Like when Hoyt came back obviously I️ knew that they would be, but for a long time I️ really thought they were building up to have Jason and Jessica be endgame. Also that weird sudden wedding that they had when Hoyt still didn’t remember Jessica was...weird. Then again from I️ also thought Sookie was gonna end up with Eric so what do I️ know

An unpopular opinion: Sookie was an awful friend to Tara. She dated Bill, a former confederate soldier and when he was speaking at the church and Tara was visibly uncomfortable Sookie didn’t even so much as acknowledge her feelings. Not to mention later on when Bill was complacent in Tara being held hostage and r@ped on a literal fucking plantation and that wasn’t a deal breaker for Sookie. Sookie basically screwed Tara over in the name of vampire dick and it pissed me off a little bit.

My unpopular opinion about this character: He’s everything Matt Donovan could have and should have been but could never be because the tvd writers were incompetent and Matt was bland asf (yes, I know that True Blood came first, but I’m still right).

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I don't know exactly what should have happened in a concrete sense, but I️ just think the writers could have and should have done a better job of addressing his suffering/mental health, namely how he was a victim of multiple rapes (starting when he was like in middle school) and how that clearly affected his relationship with sex. I don't even know maybe just get my boy a therapist or something

1 - If you follow this post, or read any of my TO fanfiction it will come as no surprise to anyone that I’m in love with and very obssesed with Klaus Mikaelson, he will always be my king.

2 - Rebekah Mikaelson, she’s so badass yet has this softness that makes her so compelling at the same time, I worship this queen and often wonder what this show would have looked like if she remained a main star for all of its five season run.

3 - Making me choose between the love of my life Klaus, and the icon that is Rebekah is hard...so hard but I have to go with Rebekah on the grounds that when he hurts Rebekah in any way I’m always mad like no, not my Rebekah, whereas when its the other way around I’m normally like yeah he deserved that from her...Rebekah is the fictional bestfriend of my life and Klaus is the husband, and friends always come before men - side not this very answer will later be used on record when I find myself in an asylum one day lol

4 - I’d have to go with either Marcellus or Inadu, although Marcel is beyond irritating to me throughout most of his run I can’t argue his reasons for being annoying are somewhat justifiable especially after Davina’s death in season 3 :( so I’d say I hated Inadu the most, purely because the character in itself was so wasted, so stale, and a dud to be honest...I was hoping for more with the hollow arc but I’ll get to that later on no doubt.

5 - Season 1 Episode 16, Farewell to Storyville, Season 1 in general was one of the strongest debut seasons for any shows I’ve ever watched, if not the strongest! I loved Rebekah and Klaus’ bond most out of the siblings and although Klaus spends most of the episode trying to kill her and it involves Rebekah leaving as a main character...this has got to be the juiciest exploration of their relationship - also side note young Elijah should have left young Rebekah kill Mikael, just saying...

6 - I could put the entirety of Season 5 in here, minus all the epicness of all the Klaroline scenes and Hayley’s badass death...but to pick one episode out it would have to be the finale “When the saints go marching in” because it just felt like they had spent that season killing off characters who were least likely to appear in Legacies (which pissed me off), also I wanted Klaroline to be endgame and Julie Plec’s response to not doing that because of Steroline, a ship that always felt like Caroline was second place and that queen should be always be 1st. 

I did not like that Klaus and Elijah died, which reminded me visually of that Avengers scene, which made no sense as we have seen originals die before and not once did it go down like that!

And even if I could forgive them for that I was rather pissed we saw no after life, even a Elijah and Hayley dance in the afterlife would have been appreciated...

I’m also always a little bittersweet when folk from the pilot don’t show up in the last episode, would have loved to seen more of Davina in general over seasons 4 and 5.  (Rant over)

7 - Try not to pick a Klaroline scene...never mind, when Caroline first appears, pinning Klaus up against the wall and saying something along the lines of try picking on someone your own size, or the swoony moment in Mystic Falls where she tells him he was never the villain in his story, or again the swoony moment when their road tripping and trying to find Hope... but non Klaroline scenes which were epic, Davina going up against Klaus with the harvest power inside of her, Lucien going upgraded original and taking them all on, Dahlia’s entire arc, the finales of 1,2, 3, and 4 and last but definitely not least kid Hope’s entire arc, what a magnificent actress Summer Fontana is, a star in the making *

8 - “ We are the strongest creatures in the world, and yet we're damaged beyond repair. We lived without hope, but we will never die. We are the definition of cursed, always and forever.” said by Rebekah Mikaelson, all of the Mikaelson’s had epic quotes, this show, and it’s predecessor TVD have so many amazing quotes <3

9 - Klaus handing baby Hope over to Rebekah, trusting her above all others, and any scenes where Klaus, Hayley, Rebekah, Elijah and Kol have with baby Hope as well as kid hope - broody moments lol

10 - Josh’s death, I had feared his death every goddamn season especially knowing Julie Plec wanted him killed in the very first season :( however after being made a regular in the finale season I had hopes for him making it out alive and perhaps showing up in Legacies in a more prominent role as a teacher for the vamp kids or something...but no that woman just had to finish off her hit...nothing breaks me more than his death! Although, reuniting with Aiden in the afterlife gives me small comfort, Aiden’s was another’s death that was so sad!

11 - Kid Hope putting people in their place like Marcel, and even Davina (who I worship), I just loved this little badass kid going about like a little queen from the get go...Danielle Rose Russell had and still has very big shoes to fill IMO

12 - Freya and Elijah condemning Davina to the ancestors, or Elijah who was supposed to love Marcel like a son ripping out Marcel’s heart. A lot of season 4 Elijah annoyed me tbh, 50% of Hayley scenes ticked me off too and Marcel was a solid 90% throughout the entire run.

13 - Hmmm....Klaus meeting his real father then killing him in order to protect Hope as he just could not risk trusting his father :( that broke me, other shocking moments when Gia died, Hayley’s first and second death...

14 - Friendship as in friends but not family? friendship within family would be Rebekah and Klaus always, friendship outside of family bonds I would definitely say either Davina and Josh or Rebekah and Hayley.

15 - Klaroline, although I put myself out here considering they only kissed once in this show...I never shipped Haylijah but never hated it, I despised Camille and the Klamille ship and always will, I enjoyed Elijah and Gia but doubt it run its course well I think, I always thought Rebekah deserved more than Marcel and still do...so I’m going with Kolvina, even though Kol killed Davina, thanks to those damn ancestors, their romance was super sweet, I loved how Kol loved her and their marriage, though briefly seen, was everything! We should have got a flashback of their wedding god damn it! But I’ll settle for them being two of the few who got happy endings...and could appear in Legacies ;) fingers crossed!

16 - I loved Marcel singing How You Like Me Now, I wish Charles Michael Davis had a few more musical numbers within this show, he’s a really talented actor, singer, director...

17 - Joseph Morgan hands down, loved him from his first scene in TVD and loved his other work in Hex and Brave New World, to name a few...

18 - Claire Holt, she’s just wonderful as Rebekah and the actress herself, she seems like such a genuine sweetheart in real life and you can really see her love for the character of Rebekah too, I also liked her other work in A Violent Separation, 47 Meters Down and no I’ve never seen H20...yet

19 - The Originals hands down, although so far TVD is in second place, with Legacies in third place but with Legacies still going I have high hopes for that climbing...all are fabulous shows in their own rights <3

20 - Okay I wouldn’t be me if I did not answer this future episode question without a link to a fanfic season 6 of mines... Origins of Magic and my alternative season 5 Bad Blood

21 - Off the top of my head? Davina and Kol teaching at Salvatore Boarding School, giving Hope some family connections that she severely lacks in Legacies and how awesome would they be as teachers? I’d also like to see a cousin whether it be Freya and Keelin’s son Nik or Rebekah and Marcel adopt a child (creature) that also ends up in Legacies. Side note - may put this in my possible fanfic ideas board...

22 - I don’t think I could claim to be most like any one individual, I’d say I was definitely a little dorky like Josh but nowhere near as adorable, I have a lot of hurt inside of me like Davina and protect my friends as much as I can, I’ve definitely got a bit of paranoia like Klaus from being screwed over many times like him and also like them it was mostly by family members, I’m definitely as curious and of a quiz like nature as Camille, love a little too easy like Rebekah and get my hear broken too often like her too, can be a little bit twistedly playful like Kol although I’ve not killed half as many people ; I’d love to one day be as elegant as Elijah, or as brave as Hayley and who would not want to be a Tribrid like Hope?

23 - How is this any different to 4? Although I’ll just answer Inadu purely because of the waste of potential and how not one single time did I give a damn about her, although I despised that vampire bitch who killed Hayley!!!

24 - I definitely relate to Klaus, Rebekah, Josh and Davina the most which is why they are my favorites no doubt.

25 - Klaus Mikaelson, any day, any time, anywhere, unless of course him and Caroline make it work I love their love more than I love my love for Klaus so I’d be happy just watching them being happy as a stalker lurking in the bushes within the back garden of their marital home - side not another statement that could be put on record for my eventful visit to the asylum..

26 - The family bonds, I love how it’s not all about romances like it is in TVD and so far Legacies, but still has romances at the same time. I love the complicated bonds between Klaus and his siblings Rebekah, Elijah, and Kol (in that order) and I love the little homemade family of Marcel with Davina and Josh (also in that order) and Marcel’s complicated father/son relationship with Klaus.

I also love how we watch Hope from being in Hayley’s womb, to a baby, toddler, child and then teenager and the powers she shows even from as young as being a baby and stopping the car she was in with Cami (even if that did save Cami’s life for a little longer) sorry not sorry we all got to hate on somebody and I did compliment her in 22 sort of lol

27 - The fact that its finale season served more like a prequel to Legacies than a fitting ending to a show I had been invested in since before it even began airing, as most fans were, we have loved these characters since their inception in TVD and it did kind of feel like Julie kind of started the finale season with a hit list in mind killing off anyone she’d think would not cameo in Legacies at some stage which I guess is why there is so much ill will from TO fans for Legacies, which I did feel for a while.

I mean I still blame Hope for Klaus and Hayley’s deaths, also Elijah for Hayley’s death and Marcel for Josh’s but I do not blame the characters have as much as I blame Plec.

28 - Season 5 lol, Season 4 although at the time I did not want it to be its end, would have served as a better ending for TO and they could have still made Legacies work without any ill will of making TO’s finale season pitch Legacies.

29 - The Hollow turning out to be Henrik, or the original witch, or anything other than what is was, also the werewolf origins should’ve have been a bit more epic like the vampires origins were.

30 - I do love Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies in interviews, Daniel Gillies is one of the funniest actors behind the scenes and has great bromances with Joseph, Paul Wesley and many others within the TVD verse. I also love Claire Holt’s and Phoebe Tonkin’s friendship and how that’s been a thing since they starred in H20 together (which I want to watch purely because of those two)

Roswell NM 2x06

I finally watched the episode (and the Legends episode, which I watched just after --a gr10 decision because it was awesome). I don’t have as many Thoughts(TM) as usual. Unsurprisingly, since Rosa isn’t in the episode and she takes three out of my four feelings. The fourth goes back and forth between Maria and Kyle, and sometimes Liz and, unfortunately, Michael xD. Anyway. I look forward to seeing her deal with her powers. And apparently her mother! I’ve wanted her to appear since episode one, so I’m excited about it (also my dumb ass only recently noticed Rosa’s middle name is Helena, like her mother, and I have Feelings about it).

I have a lot of mixed feelings wrt The Foretold Threesome (lol), thought they’re probably... different than those of most fans (I’m just still side-eying about how Maria’s racebending influenced the writers okay). I did love the conclusion, both the Alex/Michael conversation (which is my favourite scene from then in the show so far just... it pulled the right strings, yup), and the Miluca one, with her starting out insecure and the reassurances. Wrt The Drama, I’ll just say... look. I can totally see why it’d make someone feel uncomfortable, for a variety of reasons, even if I’d likely disagree with their interpretation. BUT I have NO sympathy for those that argue it was a dub/non con scene, and then only really put the blame on Maria, clearly wanting to leave a space to continue shipping Michael/Alex. Like... I just can’t believe you’d do that if you were speaking from an honest place, sorry.

I cannot belive Forrest, the WWII enthusiast is the best new romantic interest the season (yeah, I know he’s not One Of Those, it’s obvious. And he named his dog Buffy, that scored him points. But of ALL time periods you could pick for a history nerd to obsess over... WWII? Really? *Sighs*. I know it makes sense with the town’s history but STILL). Between “no public healthcare” girl and the “breeder” lesbian (who I really hope we don’t see again. Look, I do not care about whatever reasoning fellow queer people use. I fucking hate that word. The fact that she said it to a guy who was also in a gay bar makes it worse). Anyway. Yeah. The Alex/Forrest scenes were cute, too. Though I’ll say werewolf guy >>>>>>>> any stand up poetry IN THE WORLD LMAO. Pls make him a genuine character, I love him xDD.

The pseudo-horror movie plot with Alex and Maria was fun, however (“the gay guy always dies first” *Maria’s EXCUSE ME expression* “or second. that’s fair. that look is fair” xDDD). The TVD daylight ring reference KILLED me lmao. And their conversations in the car got to me. Also LMAO at Michael, the one with super powers, getting knocked down in less than ten seconds and being completely useless xDD.

Anyway. I totally got a kick out of Kyle rejecting Isobel’s ass, even if it was for Steph of all people. THANK GOD. I was worried when I heard they flirted lol. I’m also grateful Isobel’s ONS was a white girl, because her track record with WoC is terrible. Now I just want the show to never bring up Rosa/Isobel again with this as an excuse, thanks. They ruined and shat all over her memory, they made Arturo and Liz a target, they contributed to a racist af climate that endangered people beyond the Ortechos. The LEAST Rosa deserves is an apology; and a real one, not Isobel’s “I do this to feel better and get something out of you, but I’ll violently hit you and invade your mind tomorrow” one. Michael clearly doesn’t give enough of a damn to even THINK that he might need to apologize. I have some hopes for Max (who would’ve thunk he’d been the pod sibling I’d feel most lenient towards a year ago. I mean, he still has moments where I cannot stand him, but still xD. I’m actually enjoying his dynamic with Rosa this last few episodes), though I hope it won’t translate on Rosa becoming all buddy-buddy with him, because nope. Not so much for the ~morals of it all, tbh, but because I think it’s better for her, narrative-wise, if Rosa remains A Skeptic.

And like I say, that’s the least they should do, after what they caused. The least. And now ROSA has brought Max back to life --their debt to her is STAGGERINGLY HIGH, AFAIC. So yeah, Liz. It still fucking matters. And I sincerely hope Rosa never lets any of them conveniently forget.

I was thinking Brayden at first, and while he was absolutely one of my favorites; Alex is always gonna beat most out. AND I literally don’t know why. Because he was honestly horrible. Okay, I literally love just about every OC I’ve had the pleasure to write against. I also lurk OC’s that I don’t write with, but simply just adore the design of them and their connections. (Is that weird? I’m not trying to be weird, I’m sorry.) One of my favorites because I’ve got A LOT, let me make that one clear af, and this is actually fairly recent, is Zahra Ammun. Leonie writes her incredibly well, and I just truly love how gender role breaking she is in every way. I also just really remember feeling a particular connection to this character that I hadn’t felt in so, so, so long. I could actually pin point the last time I felt that way, and that actually saddens me a little. Because it had been that long. I think she’s a damn badass, and I truly adore her. hello! these types of questions are great don’t worry! everyones different but yeah, let me tell you about my writing process :) (this is a long ass writing rant and hopefully it’s helpful)

so for headcanons tbh, i just write them. like. i sit down and write it all in one go and tbh not much thought goes into them there isnt really a plot it’s just notes practically so headcanons for me are not difficult at all. fics/oneshots are where things actually heat up.

so for my fics i do note form outlines. what this means is i have all the major things that have to happen already lined out. i put it on a word doc on half my screen and the fic on the other and there’s no plan on how to get to each note point but i know i have to get there somehow, but having basic goals makes it easier for me.

when it comes to fics there’s usually a brainstorming process. i have two wonderful amazing loves of my absolute life @hereforlukescruff and @glitterprincelu and usually it will start with me saying an idea and we all just kind of start shooting ideas and bouncing off of each other. this process can take hours. like. i remember when i came up with gang luke (penumbra) i was in class and we ended up chatting about it for 3 hours and coming up with shit. when the main brainstorm is done i plot it all out. i have a few ocd tendencies, one of which is linear stuff means a lot to me. like i can’t start a fic at the end. i need to start at the start. so i’ll plan as much as i can but sometimes i stop at the middle and i re-evaluate once i get there and have a better sense as to where the story is going.

for me, characters are huge. like. i have the plot points but characters drive everything else. so i’ll often have a sit down and reevaluate what has happened to them and how they’re feeling and see if it’s all making sense for them, but, because i brainstorm a lot, usually i don’t end up changing much. strong characters are key my dudes. 

my biggest motivator to get to the end of the story is well, the characters. i love them so much and writing for them feels so comforting to me. LOVE YOUR CHARACTERS. but also. something ya’ll gotta understand about me is that i’ve been writing fan fiction for 8 years. i’ve probably spent an average of 2 hours a day (and that’s seriously low balling it) so thats 2x365=730x8=5840 hours that i’ve written and that’s probably too low to be accurate. so i’m a writer. i type fast as fuck and i’ve been doing this a while so writing comes very easy to me, ideas are constantly flowing. this is legit what im pursuing as a job so don’t be discouraged if you can’t write 10k in a day like I do because... well, i’ve had a fuck ton of practice. writing 10k in a day is pretty common for me i’d say, once i sit down with a oneshot i don’t want to leave until it’s done.

but. i also again, have a bit of an ocd thing and when it’s paired with anxiety, it makes it hard for me to stop. i need to get things done. to check stuff off my list. or i get bored. if i leave a fic for even a day or two, it’s likely i’m not gonna finish it. so for me, and i know this, its important to wait until i have a sufficient amount of time to bust something out and a plan makes it so easy because i don’t have to stop and ask myself “okay now what”

what more can i say about writing.... uh... characters. so important. dialogue. key. 

like i’ll start a fic with a general idea about an OC but as the fic continues they grow and i really enjoy watching them grow. i think a good rule of thumb if you’re having troubles with this is immerse the story view point in the most solid character you have (i’ll give an example of this in a moment) and use their perspective and musings on a different character, like what they notice, to promote growth.

example of what i mean when i say this. i recently wrote prince cal and from the start, he was my strong character. Ostara was new, she’s ashton’s sister, she’s back for the first time in a while. the very first paragraph establishes that calum is taken aback by how much she’s changed. there’s still some similarities to how she was growing up and i weave that comfort of the known throughout the story (with things like chicken fights in the pool or musing about how they used to play hide and seek as kids) but from the start, Calum is knocked off his feet by how beautiful she’s gotten and that’s a very obvious symbol of change, not just outside but in. so as the fic continues calum notices things about ostara. for example. the second time i wrote she was wearing a print of some sort, calum and i both mutually realized, ‘huh. she likes prints i guess.’ because ostara is ostara, i dont control her, in my brain she’s her own person, she’s dictating whats happening and baby just likes prints. and calum notices which says something about him, but its also little details like that that bring these characters to life. 

i mean. i don’t know how other people write characters. my characters are always alive to me. they have their own voice and knowing their reaction to things is second nature to me. but this can be attributed to the fact that i legit wrote fan fiction about actual characters (MCU, TVD, Teen Wolf, etc...) for 6 years and being able to step into those characters and do dialogue that seemed legit was the most important thing for me. so i have a FUCK TON of experience on characters. so once again, if its hard for you to step into your characters thats okay. maybe do those things where you have a fill in the blank sheet on whats their fav food, their fav colour, do they like summer or winter? etc....

i think there isnt one way to write. i think i’m blessed that i’ve ALWAYS been a writer. since i was like 4. you know in elementary when they made you write and they’d give you those little booklets and shit? other kids had like one or two at most but this whore was always on book number 6 or 7 like, im a writer. it’s what i am. it always has been what i am. 

im also a multitasker. so most of my writing is done while watching shows. which means its a double whammy for me. like. im learning about characters and plot WHILE writing so... as you can see, i’m hard core as fuck about this shit. 

my point is. my process is a process that i think is pretty particular to me. most people i know cant watch tv and write at the same time. most people don’t sit down and bust out 10k in one sitting. and thats fine. if you enjoy writing then do it. focus on what you can be doing better, this isnt a competition. at the end of the day, the only person you should be trying to be better than is the person you were yesterday, or last week, you know?

find people who are creatively inclined because holy shit it makes a huge difference. bouncing ideas off of supportive people is really important. without my friends, Birdie in Penumbra might be named Cherry, the Gang AU wouldn’t have an ending all planned out and ready to be written, and i would have missed out on so many hours of face time calls and back and fourth messages with two of the most important people in my life right now. 

so lets break down what the fuck i’m even saying

-find supportive people (but it’s important you support them as well. if they’re gonna let you throw ideas at them and help you out and pump you up, reciprocate hoe)

-focus on yourself 

-find what you’re good at. plots? characters? dialogue?

-find ways to strengthen the things you’re not so good at (character fill in sheets, plot planning, etc...)

-find what, at the end of the day, really works for you

-don’t put pressure on yourself. writing is for fun. it should be fun. and if it is fun, i think motivation will come easy? but i could be wrong, once again, i have an addictive personality and writing is a fix i need every day or i go insane.

* GETTING TO KNOW THE ACCOUNT : WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO TAKE ON THIS MUSE : well, based on the...everything about me I was obviously going to be drawn to the witchy/lightly goth character. Tbh when I first saw her teased at the end of TWS and in AOU I was mostly in it for the #aesthetic, but as per usual I developed too many feelings/ideas/questions about her character that I had to write her out for myself WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ASPECTS OF YOUR CURRENT MUSE : oh boy I’ll only list a few but obviously they’re all my favorite (seriously I felt bad about my friends I was with both seeing Endgame and was like… crying over her bc I don’t think they knew it was that deep)

She’s always ultimately striving to do the right thing. Granted, her methods can end up being wrong or swinging way into the extreme. I think it lends for a lot of interesting grey area when she so soundly thinks she’s doing what’s right but her emotions over it can lead her to methods that are probably soundly wrong.

She feels all her emotions so deeply. Even when she’s cool and collected, there’s a lot of feelings simmering beneath the surface that can then play out in her actions if they don’t ultimately end up coming to the forefront. She cares a lot for the people around her and gives herself free reign to be upset when something happens to them. On the other hand, for all her wrath and desire for vengeance, she also can be so extremely soft and just want to give the world to everyone she cares for. I really like that she’s an example of the range for what a “strong female character” can be.

Okay, there’s a lot of issues with the MCU but I did genuinely love “I can’t control their fear, only my own.” Wanda’s journey of moving past her guilt to just take fucking charge of owning her powers is something I love. Obviously I write her with a lot of doubts creeping in still, because it’s not about saying the magic words and becoming self-actualized, but I love that she can acknowledge she can only control her own shit and not anyone else’s issues with her.

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION WHEN IT COMES TO WRITING : the chance to give Wanda the space and time to breathe and process shit that the MCU doesn’t give her FAVORITE TYPES OF THREADS : hurt/comfort in all its forms. Wanda’s real cuddly y’all, even platonically. hiii my name is kevin and i’m hella excited to be here!! honestly i’m tvd trash, it’s one of my all time fave shows despite its messyness and how it did so many of my faves dirty! my sarcastic lil shit bby luke included. here’s a short lil intro to luke bc honestly he was really under-developed on the show so i’ve very little to go on here but i’m going to give it my best shot. 

so first of all i’ve never written for luke before, this is my first time writing him so forgive me if he’s like a rough around the edges at first while i find his voice but he’s still going to be your hopefully favourite sarcastic gay witch! 

so luke is gonna be slightly canon-divergent? i’m gonna be focusing on his season six storyline for the most part for now as that’s a much more interesting plot to me than that whole confusing mess of a season five plot of doppelganger destiny and the travellers etc 

that doesn’t mean i won’t play that out in the future if the roleplay calls for that storyline but for now i’m just pressing pause on it, ya feel? think of it as a minor plot for now that will be taking a back burner, so he will still possess the knowledge luke has when he arrived in season five of tvd, which means he’s aware of the doppelganger curse and would probably know of the originals existence but not who they are.

okay so some headcanons i guess bc i’m really shit at intro posts for my muses but fear is a big motivator for luke!!! despite being a pretty powerful witch he’s lived his entire life with a sword hanging above his and his twin sisters neck. it didn’t matter that he escaped kai’s murderous spree of the rest of his siblings when he was just an infant because even if kai didn’t kill him, he’s possibly going to die when he is forced to merge with Liv as only one of them can survive. YAY GEMINIS !!!! but it isn’t the possibility of his impending death that scares him, it’s the fact that he might win and kill Liv.

despite the shittyness of his situation, luke is just trying live his life to the fullest while he can before he has to merge with his sister. honestly he just wants to go to high school football games, get drunk with his friends and kiss cute boys. 

luke is more powerful than liv, they both know it but only liv dares to speak it out loud when she wants to give her twin brother a reality check and remind him of their impending doom.

you’d think with your own coven literally pitting you against your twin sister like it’s the hunger games or that you were only brought into this world with the sole purpose of being used as a weapon against your sociopath brother would be enough to make him run far, far away from their clutches but the only thing luke fears more than killing his sister is the gemini cove its self. he knows there’s no where he can run that their power can’t find him.

uhm i think that’s everything tbh?? like i said, tvd didn’t really give is much to go on with luke so i’ll be using his canon history as building blocks.

so luke is compassionate, friendly, forgiving, fun-loving, judgemental, sarcastic, reluctant to help others at times if it means putting liv’s life in jepoardy, though he will feel guilty if any harm/troubles comes to somebody because of his unwillingness to help them. 

it’s still canon that he finds tyler hot, straight boys will be the death of him
