i’ll say it here tho for new followers: this person is referencing ace discourse posts because i quite strongly believe cisgender, straight people and cisgender aroace people do not belong in lgbt spaces and that holds especially true when aromantic and asexuality have been watered down to include people who do want to date and do want to have sex, respectively.

I do not believe aphobic opppression is real—I think everything described as aphobia is either rape culture/misogyny, ableism, misdirected homophobia, or is just interpersonal discrimination which is BAD but not oppression—and that even if it were, it would not make cisgender straight people or cisgender aroace people belong in LGBT spaces. Because experiencing oppression does not necessarily mitigate your role in the oppression of others.

I believe strongly in aces forming their own community, though I will say there is little incentive for them to do so considering my previous point. There’s no laws to protest, no funds to raise. So you end up with spaces just based on including everyone and catering to any possible feeling which ends up forming harmful, contradicting rhetoric.

All this said, I won’t be arguing any of these points. I have tags you can browse—ace discourse, hsdd, ace history—and again I stand by most of what is said there. If anything seems incongruous with things I currently say, assume I’ve changed my mind or message me off anon for clarification.

I get that boobs and ass are not inherently sexual in some settings but "nsfw" doesnt mean "explicit sexual activity/explicitly sexually provocative" it means something that would get you in trouble for viewing it in a public work/school environment and naked furries, even if theyre just standing around, would do that.

Newt:

1: What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do? A long, long time. Newt spent most of her life alone in a swamp so she's used to a lot of downtime.

11: How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)? She mostly just stays quiet and hopes/assumes another party member understands. Either that or she'll ask for clarification (usually this is for when i, as her player, is also confused KJFDSS)

16: What makes their stomach turn? Losing or letting her friends down. The thought that something is happening that she doesn't understand [this is currently happening in the campaign shes in lol]. Worrying that her god will abandon her and she won't have the magic she needs to protect her friends anymore.

Vince:

15: How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first? She usually says what's on her mind unless she feels like its Personal or Compromising. She makes an effort to put off a confident, snarky, mysterious vibe but is pretty guarded when it comes to her own feelings.

22: How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)? Badly. Especially early on in the story, he can act pretty impulsively when he feels jealous or threatened and can end up hurting someone either by lashing out verbally or physically injuring or even killing someone. He gets a LOT better at this later though. He's still got issues but he's working on it :)

23: How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)? Similar to prev. It starts out as a villain in the story before it gets redeemed. It takes what it wants without any consideration for the people it hurts in the beginning and it does deal with a lot of resentment in its plot arc. but it gets better at dealing with that and its own emotions. eventually.

27: What causes them to feel dread? Her sire (she's a vamp, her sire is Awful and the main reason she is Like That in the beginning) and the thought of having to feel the guilt over the bad things shes done. It takes her a While to be able to let those emotions back in bc she dreads having to feel the remorse. She also has a lot of dread around losing people she cares about.

Jamie:

30: Who do they most regret meeting? GOD THIS IS A HARD ONE. He has a professor that kinda kicks the whole story off by introducing him to the supernatural world. Even though they are a big mentor figure to Jamie, i think he really regrets meeting them sometimes because it completely changed the trajectory of his life. He is now in infinitely more danger and has horrible, painful visions that drive the story. It's not what he expected his life to be like.

31: Who are they the most glad to have met? Yknow what it may be the same person. He has very complicated feelings about the prof. Otherwise probably Marcos :-) They're a really good friend to him and have stuck with him through it all. Also much later the answer might be Vince! She's kinda the worst to start with but post-redemption they eventually get together and vince eventually kinda becomes a weird wife guy :-) they love each other <3

34: How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt? Very, very difficult. He blames himeself for a lot of things, even things that are definitely not his fault. Somebody needs to get this guy a therapist.

Just saw your post about will wearing the gloves but I was wondering if you could maybe elaborate? English isn’t my first language so I think I’m misunderstanding the post! You said he did it wounded and bloody, with love and Hannibal’s permission, but Hannibal never agreed to commit suicide right? Like, will killed them but is Hannibal giving him permission to kill him your interpretation of the scene or is it actually canon? Am I missing something? Also idk I feel like even though he did push them off the cliff with his own “hands” (or rather body) I don’t think it’s what he meant when he told Hannibal he wanted to kill him with his bare hands. I’m thinking he meant putting flesh to flesh, maybe suffocating him or beating him to death. I feel like I’m missing what you’re saying, I’m so sorry! I always love your interpretations so I thought I’d ask for clarification <3

Hey! This got way longer than I meant, apologies in advance! So two things before anything else, the first being that I don’t think it’s necessary to apologize at all, for numerous reasons here, but mainly you don’t have any obligation to enjoy everything I put out into the ether. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy and pleased that you like my take on things but I’m as prone to romanticizing insignificant factors of this show as anyone else. I tend to post with the basic joking stipulation of “this is what that means. to me.” and the catch all of the concept “the curtains were blue.” That’s to say, there’s no definitive answer and I’m shooting a gun off in the dark because I like the way it lights up factors of their relationship, because Will might start wearing gloves due to the fact he’s committing felonies with a shaky permission slip or Will could be wearing gloves in an attempt to emulate Hannibal and further the honeypot situation. There’s reasoning actions from an intellectual standpoint and then there’s speculation, I don’t normally tag my posts as meta or analysis because I rarely think it deserves those labels. What I see is affected by bias and what I want to see and that’s always going to bleed over my thought process.

The second being that I never really expect anyone to reblog things, (not that you can’t!) it feels more like I’m simply talking to myself out loud on a playground lol so I’m sure your English is absolutely fine and I’m even more positive I could have phrased what I was saying in a more cohesive way.

Okay! So, beyond the personalization of interpretations and my own incoherency, I agree completely that when Will says “with my hands” he wholeheartedly is envisioning exactly what he saw when he killed Tier and that’s beating Hannibal to death. He’s not toying with brutality, he’s confirming he’s more than capable of enacting it and at that point, he’s confident he will. But after Tier, after Hannibal’s chosen proxy is dead by Will’s hands, Will goes to Hannibal and shows him what is essentially his intentions. This is, at the time, is the most honest scene in the show between them. Will treats Tier’s corpse like a sacrifice, putting his body on Hannibal’s table isn’t really subtle. When Hannibal prompts him, Will confirms that it was “intimate” and following it, we see a shot of Will’s bloody knuckles. And we know what happens then, Hannibal asks if Will was imagining Hannibal when he was killing Tier and while he receives a rather poignant non-answer, it’s clear Hannibal is made aware that this is the truth and Will felt vivified in doing so. In response, Hannibal does what Hannibal repeats later on the cliff, completely aware of Will’s intentions and encourages them anyway with touch, with acceptance.

Touch between them is significant, it’s not necessarily as rare as we tend to say but it is a focal point whenever it it happens, the camera lingers where hand meets hand for them. So when I said the gloves were a barrier, I meant more so that they were Will attempting to distance himself from the temptation of Hannibal’s acceptance, and the next time Will imagines killing Hannibal, it’s with a blade. That’s the disconnect, that’s the ripple effect of him experiencing a situation similar to what he thought he wanted and finding it unsatisfying though he doesn’t quite understand why. (A quick add on to this, in the Shiizakana transcript, during Will’s dream sequence with Hannibal tied to the tree and the stag pulling the ropes, it says that after Hannibal’s death, after Will wakes up, Will doesn’t find any solace in Hannibal’s death.) If we accept this speculation and the canon notes, a point could be argued that Will doesn’t fantasize or make another attempt on Hannibal after this without ropes or a knife or a gun present because he’s not trying to kill Hannibal with the promised intimacy. Again, distance. We put space between ourselves and that which has the potential to hurt us. Will wants Hannibal dead and yet doesn’t want to deal with the repercussions of living without him because he loves him.

That’s why I don’t want another season, that’s why I do genuinely believe Hannibal let Will pull them off, not maybe out of a sense of agreed suicide but because Will’s transformation (to Hannibal and to us; a character arch) is complete, he can embrace Hannibal and he can embrace acceptance and if that results in their deaths, Hannibal technically already knew that it would. Will told him, in many different ways at different points; “This isn’t sustainable.” “I’m curious whether either of us can survive separation.” “When it comes to me and you, there can be no decisive victory.”

Will can only push them off if Hannibal allows it, there isn’t a violence or reluctance to it, they fall together.

The gloves might not signify anything. I like hand motifs and I’m not above putting more meaning into things that are probably just a wardrobe decision. I hope I clarified this and not just made it worse.

Hi Anon, thank you for the question! For starters NO question is random or dumb, asking questions shows you are seeking to gain knowledge and intelligence on a subject you may not be familiar with, but you want to become familiar with! That is a very important skill, and it is one everyone should take pride in!

I have actually been in the process of updating my pinned, and this was a topic I was going to address! See below the cut for my full explanation!

In general, my blog is minor friendly, I do not have any issues with younger users following me. For my own personal comfort I would prefer the user to be a teenager, but this is more or less because I can’t believe I’m the age I am and seeing users that are like 11 makes me feel very old. I also work with children that are younger (and the thought of them being my followers is mind boggling, lol), so yeah, teenager at least please!

On posts of mine that do contain adult content, I have them labeled under the mature community tag, so if you are a minor, I guess the “rule” for following/interacting is for you to PLEASE have your accurate birthdate listed in your blog settings so you will not be able to view mature content on this blog or others.

I also appropriately label TWs for posts that are not necessarily “mature” but may contain triggering topics for individuals of any age. TWs you may see on here, for example, may be for cursing, kissing, surgery, etc. If there is a trigger for a minor, or any of my followers, that I have not accurately tagged on any of my posts, please let me know the post and the tag you would like me to include (and Anon ask is perfectly acceptable if you are uncomfortable personally making what triggers you known!), and I will add the tag and make a note of this TW tag for future reference.

That being said, I have posts from when I first started this blog back up (2021-2022) that are not as minor friendly, and that I am in the process of editing to ensure the user experience is safe and comfortable for anyone. So, it might be best for minors to focus on my posts from this year, as I know most, if not all, are safe for users of all ages!

The other important note is that I have fanfics posted on other sites that are not intended for minors, while I do not speak of them in depth on here, I would prefer minors not to interact with any of my fics with an explicit rating.

this is both as a way for content creators to find *MORE* of what they already like, and for ppl looking elsewhere to easily filter the tag & move on btw. hopefully not a discourse thing at all

it's silly to say, but due to the abundance of names & spellings for joker's character, i kinda have trouble keeping track of every way joker can be named, listed, or tagged in portmanteau (name-smushing) ships 😅😅😅

see: calling him "pego" in pegoryu, but "shu" in shuakeshu, or using "ren" vs "akira" and making double the tags. (also, mixing up which name goes first in the shiptag just adds another layer of confusion lmao).

Hey! Don't worry, this is a perfectly alright thing to ask clarification for.

Maybe in the future I'l make a more proper and formal post, but since I don't know all of the possible ships Maruki has, I hope this will be okay for this ask in the mean time!

I do understand that a lot of ships have a lot of name variation and order, hence why I have decided to allow for all the ones you know of, especially those with Maruki has the focus character IE his name is at the beginning of the ship name. But that still means applying proper shipping tags to be used when posting.

So as an example, say for someone like Joker, and you intend on using him as a pairing character for Maruki. This will become the more commonly known "Marushu" tag, or any variation with the name preference (Akira and Ren) for Joker. This also means that tags for ships and pairings have to be in text for better searching and filtering, instead of emojis.

And lastly, regarding how to tag ships and pairings for this event, it is ideal to use the tags that the contributor knows and believes their work fits in! As long as, Maruki is the focus character, then you're good to go. Plus, I'll do my best to reblog works to this blog, so make sure to use the official tag #takutomarukiweek2023 and/or tag this blog to make sure your work can be seen.

Note: Do keep in mind that this is subjective to change as the event goes on, and as I receive feedback and suggestions as to how to improve it.

They abandoned everyone they tricked into loving them. They ended up being alone in their lives, with no friends, just acquaintances. When they suffered losses they had no comfort. When they had successes no one would congratulate them. If anything they only attracted people's wrath. Not to mention all the people they used on their path towards their downfall. People they left broken, alone and manipulated. They convinced them that they held no importance.

Also for clarification, because you might be confused: i am not against abandoning those who have HURT you. Those who have caused you severe pain and shown you no love or scarce. That's self defence most of the time. I am against abandoning friends and loved ones when things get slightly hard or for selfish reasons. Y'know, like those husbands who leave their wives when they get cancer? That kind of thing.

So this isn’t exactly new content—sorry to anyone whose hopes I got up.

In my efforts to make my posts a more, ahem, ✨~aesthetic reading experience~✨, I’ve been going through and editing my old posts. My original post for day three has always bugged me, so I’ve decided to break it up so that all the boys get their own posts. Also, I’m leaving Damian’s as the original post, so that’s something.

Other than the look of things and a few light edits, there aren’t any major changes. It should make for better, more streamline reading tho. ((thinking about it now, this is more like a quality of life patch than anything lol…))

This… got a lil bit sad. Again. I’m so sorry lol. I love Jay, I truly do! He’s actually my favorite out of all the boys, which leads to me delving deeper into who he is as a character and given all he’s been through… Well dude’s a walking angst factory if I’ve ever seen one. That being said…

TW for mentions of a panic attack, though I don’t go into great detail about said attack. I more so touch on helping him to work through it and the aftermath, and even that’s not super detailed. If you want to skip it, keep scrolling until you get past all of the ‼’s (6 in total).

He’s got his list—which is p. short as he’s already bought most of his gifts months ago—so everything’s well in order.

🌟 He’s also v. flexible, able to adapt to any shopping style.

You more of a mission based shopper that likes to get in and out? Give him half of your list and send him off to hunt that shit down for you. Also keep your phone handy in case he needs to hit you up for some clarification.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, do you like to go in and just wing it? He’ll use his detective prowess to help you analyze any recipients you may be having trouble with picking something out for.

If you’re one of those people who gets easily distracted he’ll either help you stay on task or go off on a tangent with you depending on what you want to do.

You wanna touch all the things? He’ll only stop you if it looks like you’re gonna break something lol. And if you do he’ll pay for it with minimum grumblings on his part, though he will tell you that you need to be more careful in the future.

🌟 Doesn’t tend to get bored too quickly as he enjoys people watching.

He’s so damn tall that he can easily see over most displays, and thanks to his dip in the Pit his hearing’s enhanced*. If he focuses he can listen to the argument that a couple is having three aisles over or the total meltdown that somebody’s brat’s having over not getting whatever toy it is that they want lol.

If you want he’ll gladly narrate the goings-on for you.

*((I have no idea if that’s canon or not, btw. Regardless, I personally give anyone who has been inside of a Lazarus Pit freaky good reflexes and sensory intake. But anyways…))

🌟 More than okay with being a pack mule if you need him to be—after all, all those muscles gotta be good for something.

🌟 Also okay with being left on a bench somewhere with your haul. Again, people watching’s his jam and this gives him ample opportunity to indulge.

🌟 But that’s all only tangentially related to the prompt so let’s move on…

🌟 As far as getting lost in the mall… That shit would freak him out big time. He’s a former Bat, thee fucking Red Hood. He does not get lost–

🌟 –well until he does, clearly.

🌟 Depending on the headspace he’s in this can go one or two ways.

‼ If he’s already feeling stressed for whatever reason getting lost will freak him out as I’ve already said, though to a much greater degree. His anxiety will spike, potentially throwing him into a full blown panic attack.

‼ If you’re with him, try to pull him off to somewhere less crowded. A bathroom is one of the better options, though if the men’s room isn’t a viable option for you a dressing room will do as well. Walk him through some breathing exercises as those are the most effective method for calming him, and just stay with him until he levels out.

‼ Once he’s a bit more stable get him home asap. Plot out the fastest route to the nearest exit and find your way back to your car from there; he’ll be better off walking outside in the open air than trying to fight the crowds.

‼ He’s gonna be feeling p. fragile for a bit afterwards, so be sure to love on him as much as he’ll let you. He’s probably not gonna want to talk about it, not that there’s much to say. You both already know about his anxiety and the potential for crowds to set it off. Stuff like that’s easier to deal with when he’s in vigilante mode, but when he’s just Jason he finds that he’s not always as strong as he wants to be.

‼ And if you’ve managed to get separated… that’s just not gonna end well. Like at all. He’ll focus all of his anxiety into finding you, and getting in his way is not at all advisable. Once he finally locates you, you’re going home. Full stop, that’s it, drop whatever it is you’re holding unless you plan on stealing that shit because you’re leaving right the fuck now.

‼ He’s not trying to be controlling or anything like that, he’s just freaked the fuck out. He needs to get back to a space where he can feel comfortable and in control of his emotions again, and ofc he needs the one person that he trusts most in this world (i.e. you) to be there with him.

🌟 If he’s in a better headspace he’s gonna be annoyed more than anything.

How tf did he let himself get lost? And in a mall of all fucking places. Disgraceful, truly.

If there’s one available he’s gonna pull up a map on his phone to help orient himself, and barring that he’s gonna look for one of those directories that most malls have on a wall or stand somewhere—or at least they used to have them. I haven’t been to a mall in ages (the one in my city is p. empty so I do my shopping online) so idk if this is still a thing.

Anyways!

He is not above asking a guard or store employee for help, esp. if you’ve somehow gotten separated from each other. Your safety (and his sanity) comes well before any pride he may have.

Expect him to bitch about the whole ordeal for the next several minutes. He’s also gonna want to hit up the food court as he feels like he’s earned a snack after all that fuckery lol.

🌟 So overall he’s an excellent shopping buddy—10/10 would bring along again.

TLDR: Dream’s not hellspawn of the earth but he needs to better address some things (espec his racism + insensitivity) before he can really better as a person imo + I’m not disengaging from the fandom but I’m down to talk if ppl have concerns 

okay ere’s the full thoughts lol (this is not very well edited):

i acknowledge that Dream has said that he’s supposedly grown from the conservative mindset he used to hold as younger teen, and in some respects that may be true, but I really don’t think he’s ever truly shown a lot of that change considering the anti-Blackness he’s perpetuated (and neglected to adequately address within his own fanbase) especially that he doesn’t really seem to take accountability for. obviously I don’t think people should try and speculate on his sexuality but I don’t think that’s really the issue here, and i understand the frustration of experiencing hate but that is unfortunately part of the occupation-- it doesn’t make it okay but it does in some way make it your responsibility to know how to respond to that criticism in a level-headed way, and while i know that people aren’t perfect I think that what could have been written off as just outbursts have repeated too much and involved so much harm with doxxing that he continued to downplay that it really shows a trend.

i don’t think Dream is incapable of becoming a better person but i do think that he’s done a lot of bullshit and hasn’t given an acceptable apology for the parts that really matter, from what I’ve seen. I don’t think he needs to be going on stream and addressing the gay jokes he’s made about Antfrost-- I don’t think that shit matters, I think it’s just easier because he’s a rich white person who gets uncomfortable when held accountable for the shit he’s done for POC, compared to talking about alleged homophobia which may be more comfortable for someone in his position to dispute. 

keep in mind that I’m a non-Black POC so I can’t speak to how Black people particularly feel about his racism but from what I’ve seen and my own judgements I really don’t think he’s done enough to apologize for it

I’m not going to erase his character from my writings and I’m not going to disengage from the DSMP but i do just want to say like. Dream has done some good things at some point but I dont think those good things really. matter. when he’s still avidly being inconsiderate at BEST and just outright bigoted at worst. 

sorry if this is badly phrased but yeah. those are my thoughts. I don’t know if my blog will be entirely clean from Dream mentions or anything but I will try to tag accordingly and if you’re trying to clean up your dash and want any more clarification, DM me and we can talk. would rather not take asks abt this but comments are fine too.
