Oh hey, I just noticed another small VnC detail that never caught my eye before. Something is alive and moving in the background of Doctor Moreau's lab while Vanitas, Luna, and Misha are having their first big conversation.

Throughout this scene, Luna and Mikhail are very consistently drawn in front of Vanitas. Yet, while they're mid-conversation, we pause for a couple of panels as Vanitas is startled by the sound of a clatter from behind him. Someone or something else is moving around in Moreau's lab that we don't see.

Now, this could be Moreau or a scientist shifting post-knockout. It could even just be rubble falling. I doubt that, though, as it would be a little odd odd to dwell on Vanitas's confusion at the sound if it were something so unimportant.

Also, we see behind Vanitas in an earlier part of this scene.

None of Moreau's unconscious people are behind him, and it doesn't look like there's anything in immediate danger of crumbling to the ground either. There is, however, a door that leads to another part of the lab.

Technically Vanitas could be hearing the sounds of scientists moving around behind the door, but again, what would be the point of that? We already know that Moreau and his people are mostly just knocked out, not dead, so having Vanitas stop in the middle of a big important scene to go "what was that sound" about a couple of Moreau's offscreen assistants would feel like kind of a waste of panels. I don't think Mochijun would dwell on this if these panels weren't meant to be conveying something important that we didn't already know.

As an alternate explanation, there is one other person besides Moreau's henchmen and the Blue Moon brothers that was probably in the lab the night Luna attacked. One person whose whereabouts during/after this moment we know nothing about.

I think these panels are Vanitas hearing the sound of Number 70 moving around in the lab.

Unless I'm forgetting something, I don't think we know whether Number 70 remained in Moreau's custody as he rebuilt or if they were "lost" to him as well. There might actually be a chance that No. 70 managed to (or tried to) escape this same night as Luna destroyed Moreau's lab.

Next one in the series, Lysa Monroe. (Unclear with whether that's her married or maiden name)

This took some time to complete. Between deciphering what information we have on her and the fact that she has interaction with not one but two main characters meant that I had to spend a little more time on her, making two separate character designs for present and past Lysa.

She looks similar enough to Riley to mistaken for sisters, and that's the most info we get on her appearance.(That I'm aware of). so I took some liberties here and there.

I made younger Lysa more goth/90s alt, because I can't imagine Ghost taking a liking to sorority type girls and that goths are more visually associated with the occult. Its also mentioned that she wore a fox mask like Ghost as she was his partner (that I think Riley cut up).

As for older!Lysa, I imagine shes more subdued about the occult as she constantly tries to deny it to Riley in flashbacks. Definitely more guarded, especially if shes working with the Dunlaps.(personal theory)

I imagine that her relationship with Riley is quite strained. From what can be inferred, Lysa tries to hide her occult stuff from Riley, but Riley is too perceptive and it agitates Lysa. we get more hints of their relationship in the nightmare sequence, With Lysa expressing that Riley's not talented enough for witchcraft but it remains to be seen if the sentiment was a reflection of how Lysa actually feels or if its Rileys imagination.

The relationship between Lysa and Joey Lumen was a tumultuous one. It's made clear that Lysa was using him as a means to an end. I'm not quite sure for what though. Her past and perspective is very shrouded in mystery; we as the audience don't know why she betrayed Ghost, just that she did. She certainly was quite manipulative and her motives for continuing witchcraft and the murders remain to be seen. She's certainly interesting. Lysa's a final girl, a slasher, and a major figure to the plot and we don't know shit about her!

Comic Edition Emirate Xaaron and Autobot Flame: A Marvelous match

Coming at us in a blast from the past, we have two massive nobodies from UK Marvel G1, Generations Comic Edition Emirate Xaaron and (Autobot) Flame!

Starting with the real highlight of this set, Xaaron takes center stage, cast primarily in a light gold with some painted darker gold highlights and a bit of black shading, to make it look as though he came right off the comic page. His joints are cast in an off white, and his thighs are painted silver, which helps bridge the gap between the metallic and matte finishes. His head pops out in that same pale tone, with some small touches of black to highlight his facial features. Xaaron’s overall look is based roughly on G1 Megatron, though he omits the gun mode kibble that would become the classic bucket head to show off that crown crest. It’s paired with a weird iron man mouth that spawned from the confinements of the drawn page, creating a unique head design and a very nice-looking robot, simply. I’m utterly enamored with Xaaron and how he looks. I’m also a fan of the comic shading, a rather divisive aspect of the Comic Edition subline. I think it adds a nice dynamic element to the figures and just looks nice.

Now, while Xaaron was based off Megatron, do not be mistaken, this is no retool of the Decepticon despot. Any modern Megatron would have been both too big and too imposing to sufficiently serve as Xaaron, but Siege Refraktor lets him keep the same form factor in a suitably smaller stature. It’s also boxy and generic enough to make for a smooth transition to other characters. This is evidenced by the only new parts on the main figure being the chest piece and the head, everything else merely getting color swapped. That’s not the whole package however! Xaaron comes equipped with a small slew of additional, purely optional parts to give him a slightly more “traditional” Transformers look, giving you some hint towards what his alt mode might be. He gets a pair of tank treads, intended for his legs, and a cannon alongside the accompanying turret mount to peg wherever you please. They shake up his profile, pulling your eyes down a bit more and making him that touch less blocky.

A fun little tidbit, plus some context for why Xaaron is designed the way he is, he never transformed in the comics. It was briefly teased in his showdown with Flame, on which this set is based, but since it’s been so long since he’d last done it, he was worried the act might kill him. Now that’s all fine and dandy for a character in a comic book! It adds an interesting layer to the conflicts presented, and it’s not like characters from comic books have never gotten toys before. Problem though, this is the Transformers toyline. So, (according to the wonderful Sixo, who revealed this set and this info) the designers went with a simple mold that they could easily add a partsforming element to, letting you have both a comic accurate robot mode and an alternate mode. The extra pieces are even explained as, effectively, combat armor, so he doesn’t kill himself getting ready for battle. And idk I think it’s neat I like when things have explanations.

The actual transformation sure is Siege Refraktor. Too bad that wasn’t the most groundbreaking toy. The hands tuck away, the arms fold back, the waist swivels and the legs turn outwards. Waow. The new tank pieces do a lot for the look, though that’s turning an indiscriminate “space vehicle” into a slightly less indiscriminate space vehicle. I’m not sure if it’s just my copy but I struggle to get the cockpit piece that folds out from the chest to tab securely into the legs. It is also a new piece, which might have an impact, but it’s also only very slightly different. It doesn’t really matter, but still.

Of course, what would a hero be without a villain? That’s where Flame comes in, looking delightfully menacing and twisting what should be a normally nominal Autobot color scheme into something far more sinister. One upping Xaaron by being this sets Megatron retool, specifically the SSGE WFC mold, Flame wears the bulky, brutish shapes of the Decepticon leader in much the same manner, but the new parts help set him apart. That said, his arms stick out a bit, the completely bare plastic and slightly higher amount of mechanical detail compared to the likes of his shins clashing with the rest of the figure.

He poses quite nicely, looking suitable malicious the way only a deranged scientist can, though some of his joints are just. Weird. His elbows don’t bend smoothly, both sets having an unfortunate tendency to jump between positions, though this has lessened a bit with time. His legs are even worse in this regard. The knees have tabs in the front and back of the leg that effectively act as a single big ratchet, giving you a whopping two options of bent and straight. What’s weirder is that if you go past them, the knee does rotate smoothly and tightly, but you’ll only have room for that when you’re transforming him thanks to the big tab in the back. It’s an absolutely bizarre design choice that is no more welcome here than it was on Megatron. Thankfully you can snip them off with zero concern, something I’ve done on my copy. Even if you do keep him stock, he’s still quite expressive, and naturally looks intimidating. My only other major gripe is that his ankle tilt is a bit limited. Like yeah a wrist swivel would be nice but you don’t need it-

The transformation is rather fun! Nothing changes from Megatron, but the way his arms go over his back and under his chest is clever, and it feels great to close his legs over everything like one big clamshell. I have no other notes it’s just a good toy.

This is a great set, and Xaaron is actually my favorite part of it? He’s unbelievably charming. His natural stature gives off a big energy of “I am not built for this” and a constant vibe of “oh god damn it not again”. I love him. Flame’s still plenty fun! I’m just not as enamored with him. The best part of this set though is what it represents. Transformers is a massive franchise, with a lot of characters and some deep, deep cuts that have formed over 40 years. There are plenty of obscure nobodies. Now while Xaaron did feature fairly prominently in the UK Marvel comic, and even showed up in the later stages of the American run, he’s not exactly the face of the franchise. I’d say it’s a safe bet most people have absolutely no idea who he is. Yet despite that, despite not even having an alt mode, he was still able to get a toy! Flame as well. So many enormous dorks have showed up in figure form this year alone, and I hope it’s a trend the current team continues throughout the next ten years, whatever those may look like!

Warning! Potential spoilers for Stranger Things 5!

To recap, Alex received this dm on 13/2/23, seemingly confirming mileven breakup

She received this message on that day, which states that mileven are still together and happy. However it’s also instantly debunkable bc they’re absolutely not going to do the Hopper-Mike feud bs again. That is beyond clear.

On this past Tuesday, 20/2/23, she received a second message outright stating Mileven breakup.

Finally, on Wednesday, 21/2/23, she received this message full of pretty plausible statements, with mileven breakup included as fact. Interesting.

This person claims it’s all fake, with no rationale or alt info - what, is Will not important now?

Worth noting: Millie is currently doing promo for Damsels, so she’ll be out of commission re: filming for a few weeks. Early March is probably when she’ll come back, but Finn will be be busy with his Ghosbusters 2 promo.

Two conclusions:

1.) there will be no mileven scenes filmed for a few weeks. Filming schedules are very tightly planned to accommodate other actor commitments, so it doesn’t seem like this posed a massive issue. Hm.

2,) Millie will likely be doing any scenes she has with Sadie and Caleb, aka Max and Lucas, when she gets back. As this message says.

This person is probably just smart and well-informed enough to figure this out, but it’s interesting.

There has been some very intriguing activity on a stranger things set a few days ago - red UD ligthing, castle Byers.., and Will Byers. Will’s plotline for season 5 seriously looks like everything us Will stans have been dreaming of in terms of plot relevance, emotional catharsis, etc. This pic dropped yesterday, and the spoiler acc seems to have confirmed it’s Will:

Very strange framework, here. If the goal is to set up Will being rejected gently by Mike, but understood and accepted, why not focus on that? Why not have Vecna say ‘you’re afraid he’ll be disgusted by you. You’re afraid he’ll see you as the disgusting, broken boy you are’ or something like that? Elsewhere in the game, it’s being reported by players that Will is being taunted about how his friends are all ignoring him, and how Max fits into the group better than he does. This is canonically a sore spot for him - not so much the Max part, but the general point. So why not emphasise his fear of Mike’s rejection, rather than his hurt at Mike picking El over him?

Maybe because, if this is carried into s5 and we get scenes of Vecna taunting Will about Mike choosing El, it’ll be certain that Mike will indeed pick Will. Maybe this is a means of hinting that?

(Side note: at this point in the time line, El was really just a concept to Will. The one time he met her, it was for barely a minute as a delirious, dying child. By s4, it’s very clear that they’re close and loving. I’ll hear no critique of him for apparently not wanting her to come back - it’s very obviously Vecna twisting things, as he did with Max in s4 to make it seem like she actively wanted to murder Billy.)

Also worth noting: the best Mike can say about the girl he supposedly loved at first sight, after a whole week with her, is that she’s ‘cool’, ‘different’, ‘awesome’. Very lacklustre. Compare to how Lucas would describe the comatose max to a newcomer in s4.

Finally: Will quite literally utilises a never-seen memory of Mike and him in Castle Byers as his happy menory, his safe place. You know,like the Snow Ball and those other memories of good times with Lucas that Max clung to in s4?

This post by @nebulousfishgills reports Vecna saying that Will is ‘the key’, manipulating Will’s memories, and directly saying “You’ll finally matter to someone, Will.” Byler kind of has to be endgame, right? For this to make any sense as a narrative? ‘We can still be friends’ won’t cut it, not if, as the messages Alex is getting make out, Will is still so achingly in love post-time jump that he’s staying by Mike’s hospital bed after everyone else leaves and kissing his forehead (a). Not if they’re still emphasising that Mike is his safe place, his home, his light, in (technically) pre-season five promotional material.

All of this is… interesting, to say the least.

Lexa was absolutely not looking forward to this. Letting some kind of whore AI into her head? Under normal circumtances not in a million years.

But these weren't normal circumstances and Johnny was right (who would have thought), the only way to get into Clouds and to get maybe infos about Evelyn would be to play along.

Knowing this Lexa didn't feel less uncomfortable though. Which of course Johnny could feel as well. And allthough he despised places like this, he still thought her unease was kinda funny.

One thing they had in common, but would never admit, was how they dealt with situations, who made them uncomfortable. And a situation, that made them uncomfortable was for both one they couldn't control.

Johnny being nothing but an engramm on a data stick in some chick's head and Lexa being the involuntary host of that terrorist engramm was definitely something, that none of them could control.

So both reacted either with agression and insulted each other or with sarcasm and irony.

Lexa hated every single second in this room. Letting someone near here, sharing her thoughts and fears with someone was nothing she liked at all. So that a doll, this computer programm, knew about her fears was too much and she ended the session immidiately.

Johnny didn't really care how V felt, allthough he could understand her feelings towards all of this. But he was glad that they didn't waste more time than actually necessary here. He hated this place and actually thought about how he could bring V to burn it to the ground.

Clouds wasn't a complete waste of time but also not the most helpful either. At least they had another hint where Evelyn might be. So after finally getting out of there and after the first of many painful Relic malfunction which wasn't fun for Johnny either, he decided to tell V about Mikoshi. At least a little bit.

After the disappointment of not finding Evelyn and leaving her breakfast in the elevator after that Relic malfunction, Lexa was just tired and not in the mood to argue. So she let Johnny talk and hoped it wouldn't cause even bigger headaches.

She listened about this soul stealing prison thing Mikoshi, about someone named Alt Cunningham and how both were supposed to be the solution to all her problems. Sounded pretty crazy, but she has seen and done some weird shit as Netrunner. So Arasaka stealing the souls from people, wasn't really too unbelievable. She also remembered back in Militech there were rumors about such a thing among their Netrunners. So yes, she believed Johnny about Mikoshi and what it was.

It seemed to be at least something to maybe go after. If Johnny someday decided to tell her everything. Because as much as he tried to make it sound, like he only told her to hopefully save her, Lexa knew better. He was a very good liar, but besides being in her head, he also couldn't hide his excitement about having maybe another chance to screw Arasaka. And honestly she couldn't even blame him. Not after what they did to him and what they're doing in Mikoshi. She just cared much more about her own survival than his revenge fantasies.

Johnny was surprised that V really listened to him. He also knew, she was just exhausted, but he took what he could get. Also maybe she was able to understand the things he told her about Mikoshi, because as far as he could tell, that at least when it came to netrunning, she was bril... kinda good.

He actually was really a little bit sorry for her. Like him, V didn't ask for this, but it was her life, her soul that was at stake. Like him she was one of Araska's victims. Allthough on the other hand no one forced her to put an unknown data stick into her head. Maybe he should rethink the good Netrunner part again.

Anyway, could Mikoshi, could Alt help her? Maybe. Or maybe not. Johnny wasn't sure. But it was a chance for her. And if not a chance to save her life, but to continue his fight. Johnny at least got a second chance and he would not waste it.

So, yes, when helping her matched with his own goals, he hoped he could help her to survive this. But V's survival was not his priority. If Johnny had to decide between saving her or destroying Mikoshi or even Arasaka itself, than V would lose. He was absolutely ready to sacrifice her if he had to.

But for fuck's sake, could she please stop looking at him like a little puppy, he just kicked?!

AITA for ghosting my lifelong friend? Part 1. (so sorry for sending multiple asks, tumblr can't process the length! it's a convoluted story. TL:DR; will be at the end.)

I (25, he/him) have/had a friend (25, they/them/he) who I grew up with, and I've always considered us to be close. Upon further inspection, I think I just have never had enough friends to know what actually counts as "close". We've gone whole years without speaking to or seeing each other and even toward the end of our childhood we were never each other's best friends or first choices. We also had a bit of unpleasantness between us when I first came out as trans but we were pretty young then, so it isn't something I still hold against them, though it did impact my desire to be friends with them at the time. My point is that I think we just happen to be each other's oldest friends. They've always been a bit dishonest but in recent years they have gained some notoriety as an artist and it has gone to their head. For the past year or so they have been faking schizophrenia. It's pretty clear that they're faking it because they are pretty ignorant about the disorder, so they often confuse/conflate symptoms of other disorders like bipolar and CPTSD. I never knew how to bring this up without being harsh, because sometimes there actually is some kind of mental illness going on anyway when someone lies this much about their life, and I didn't want to just shit on them for being mentally ill. Recently it has escalated, though, to the point that they are faking multiple other conditions, disabilities, and even traumas, in a way that is incredibly disrespectful and insulting. One particularly bad example of this that got me really rethinking our friendship was when they were escorted out of a nightclub by the forearm by a security guard for berating staff members (they were asked to leave as the club is a women's-only space). They described this event on social media as a r*pe, and named the bar and the owner publicly to their thousands of followers. A few of our mutual friends reached out with questions (they have a history of pretending to be a trans woman in certain situations, so it's worth asking), but they publicly called out and insulted those people as well, calling them manipulators, classists, ableists, abusers, etc.

ghosted my lifelong friend Part 2-

About 3 months ago they started to drop hints that they believed they may have DID and they are already faking full conversations with 8 - 10 supposedly co-conscious alters. They make Spotify playlists, outfit plans, drink recipes, etc. for these "alters" (all of which suit their personal tastes and rarely vary- if you know much about DID you likely know that it's a big red flag when someone's alleged alters are extremely similar to each other and to the host). They have also recently been pretending to have gone deaf and blind (not hard of hearing and visually impaired, but deaf and blind), over the span of the last 2 months or so. It is possible to go totally deaf and blind fairly quickly, but they claim to have learned sign language fluently and retaught themself visual art and ballet without sight or hearing in that same timeframe. I know that schizophrenic people can experience somatic hallucinations that cause them to believe that they are permanently losing their olfactory senses, but these people actually can't process sounds or visuals normally while they're having these hallucinations, and so it doesn't really involve any level of intentional dishonesty on their part. It's one thing to experience temporary, hallucinatory deafness, and a totally separate thing to film, edit, and post multiple videos of yourself blatantly pretending to speak sign language on social media. I mean this is such a low-effort fake that it's not hard to debunk at all; for instance the sign for multiple words is apparently just the letter R. (Again, I have noticed this so easily because I personally speak sign language, so l am aware that some uncommon words and proper nouns are spelled out and not represented by a single sign, but as an example, the phrase "I'm on the train right now" doesn't have 5 Rs in it regardless). The final straw was when earlier this week they claimed that someone attempted to break in to their vacation home. For even more background they have also recently started to claim that they have a stalker, a specific woman who they know personally who they are supposedly currently travelling cross-country to avoid. (The real story is that they are fleeing relationship drama, but l digress). Over the previous few days they had made several posts intentionally leaving behind details about their location- mentioning the name of the neighbourhood they were visiting, dropping bits and pieces of their travel schedule, posting photos and videos near the front of the home they were staying at, etc. It was all vague enough that you'd have to work very hard to decipher their actual (remote, rural) location from it, but specific enough that it could be plausible that an extreme stalker might be willing to. This is extremely strange behaviour from someone who is supposedly fleeing an obsessive stalker, but whatever.

lifelong friend story Part 3 (final part, I hope.)

Their story about the break-in was originally that their alleged stalker had flown thousands of miles to try and break in, but when no one was buying that they started to claim that they "weren't sure" who it was because they "can't see". When this made even more people see through the lie, they changed their story again, claiming that they were "pretty sure that someone tried to break in" but didn't know for sure, and that they also believed the person in question "might" have touched them inappropriately if they had been there and had broken in. This, to me, was obviously them both trying to avoid making a statement that was too simple to debunk and to make people feel uncomfortable asking more questions by including an element of assault. There are more instances of specific lies, and some of these and other lies are suspiciously similar to my own life story, if I might avoid specifying to keep my anonymity relatively intact. Everyone else who has tried to call them on this has had a hate mob sent their way, and I didn't want to give them the chance to shit on me for noticing their dishonesty, especially when they're stealing half the stories from me directly, so I just gave up in the end and blocked them everywhere. I figured the total lack of respect from their end justified me preserving my mental health as much as I could. The fact that they are so blatantly, regularly and severely lying about subjects that they are aware I'm personally knowledgeable on is insulting, yes. But it's also dangerous for someone who is totally ignorant to the disorders they claim to have to be positioning themselves as an expert to people who may not know any better. They've lost a lot of friends and followers over this behaviour, yes, but they still have a following of a few thousand people and if they haven't seen through it by now I wonder if they ever will. They need desperately to get off social media so they can stop acting out for attention and just spend some time on figuring out why they feel such an overwhelming need to lie all the time. Also, if it helps understand the why a bit better, this person is rather wealthy and grew up that way as well, and I believe that they have always felt inadequate and "uncool" in comparison to people with harder lives. Since becoming an artist they have started to lie more and more to fit in with a crowd they see as more worldly and experienced. Having grown up poor and in an extremely neglectful home enviroment is another thing they frequently lie about. To reiterate this behaviour has been escalating rapidly for the past two or three months, this has mostly all happened between September 28 and now and it's only a portion of the full scale of the stories. Maybe if I hadn't consistently gotten so much less effort back than I put in during our relationship, I might have tried harder, but I can't keep dealing with this for my own health, and I don't want to have a hate mob on my ass either. I also frankly don't want to be publicly associated with this person. My best bet, I feel, is to just disappear and be impossible to find again. AlTA?

lance still stays with him (COUGH self indulgent COUGH) bc he's too loyal to actl leave arthur's side despite him serving the new king. him and the knights of the round table are the only people who know about this new jester's true identity bc arthur didn't want to be known, not out of shame due to his dethronement but he simply wanted a fresh start. he doesn't want to be weighed by his past responsibilities anymore. he doesn't want to be seen as king. while power is great, it isn't for him. that's why he tries to make himself as unrecognizable as possible while keeping some hints of his charm. why? so people see him and go "why does he look so familiar but i can't put my finger on it" (he loves to confuse people)

Thea and Nathan are siblings (Nathan is older by a couple of years), and Thomas is their uncle on their mom's side. Eva and Mateo are cousins (Mateo is also older by a couple years), Stella and Maria are sisters (both are Eva's and Mateo's mothers respectively and Maria is younger), and Seth is Stella's boyfriend. Lilith and Adam are twins, Adam being a few minutes older. Lily is Lilith's daughter.

Overall plot: Thea Rogers aspired to make her own music group and make it big like her older brother Nathan did in the city of Otoville, New York. Unfortunately, he was found one day in his apartment dead, the most suspected cause being suicide. Thea denies this possibility because of a journal Nathan had been keeping that was passed down to her after his death, giving subtle hints that the company that licensed his music, Divine Records, was behind it.

Thea recruits her friends Eva Cruz, Peter Aquino, and Carter Jackson to help build their own music group, beatCRASHERS, as well as do some snooping to investigate the truth about Nathan's death. However, the bigger they got as a group, the stranger their reality became...

Brief character info: Thea: Leader of the group beatCRASHERS, a group that performs street music, also investigating the death of her brother. Eva: Member of beatCRASHERS and daughter of one of the managers of Divine Records, strives to overcome her intense stage fright and general shyness. Peter: Member of beatCRASHERS, joined the group to get away from the stress of having divorced parents who hate each other but have to split custody. Carter: Originally going into classical music, he joined beatCRASHERS to experience the weird sensation in his chest whenever he hears street music. Nathan: Leader and vocalist of a rock band, Sub-ZERO, who's death was allegedly planned by Divine Records for an unknown reason. Mateo: Solo artist in reggaeton music and son of one of the managers of Divine Records. Tommy: Owner of a music shop in Otoville called Otobeats, passed down from his father a few years before he retired. Lilith: Co-owner of Divine Records with her brother, Adam, and owns a snake named Malus. The more composed of the twins. Like with you and Robin, you and Camilla work well because of your people skills. You have a strong love for those close to you and would do anything for them.

You were the daughter of a powerful family from the Nohr kingdom. You weren't one for the fancy balls and royal soirees. You preferred to spend your time reading and writing indoors keeping to yourself.

However, nobles don't get that luxury. For "the good of the kingdom" the lord and lady, your parents, were throwing you a ball for you to pick a suitor.

Just as she was there for you that night, you were there for her when she expressed worries about the war and wanting to make her kingdom a better place.

She also taught you how to fight so you would be able to defend yourself. She wouldn't know what to do with herself if something happened to you.

During your friendship you began to desire something more. You wanted to marry her, not some random suitor who only wanted you for you looks and money. Alas you not only did you not want to ruin your friendship, but you knew that Camilla had a lineup of other more powerful suitors given that she was not only a princess, but also kind and beautiful.

Your fears soon rang true when you got word that Camilla would soon be taking a spouse. You were devastated but wanted to support your best friend. However, you were quiet surprised the next time you two met up.

Camilla had invited you to brunch at her kingdom for a change (she said she prefers to hang out at your estate instead because it's less dark and dreary than the castle).

And so, you two became wife and wife. The celebrity couple of the kingdom. You were light Camilla had to come home to whenever she would go off to battle and you made sure she was always welcomed back with love. She wanted to make the kingdom a better place for the two of you (and a potential family) to live happily ever after.

So you know those comparisons of how things started versus how they are now? Behold: the circa 2021 versions of the Chimeras....and my drawing skills >_>

I had a Prime-based Transformers AU where Echo was the main character, and the sequel that was NOT RID15 involved her gathering the others, who were part of a Decepticon project and leading them to stop Unicron as the "Heralds of Primus", a group chosen by the Primes themselves as their avatars in this reality. And almost all of them were adults... As you may have noticed, THIS IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CHIMERAS PRESENT DAY AT ALL. A lot has changed, some things have stayed the same, but I'm a lot more happy with where I am with them now than I was. You love to see improvement.

Here's an overview of their characters then and now: Echo: Echo was a medic in addition to a medic and was a Seeker. She was also a lot more naturally kinder and compassionate. She was a good person that had to learn to be a leader. In Rez, she's a leader that has to be a good person. She also isn't a medic, leans more into the shinobi motif, and turns into a helicopter. Also she wields salves, and not razorangs as a default weapon, and isn't sparkbonded to anyone....(Come hell or high water, I WILL find a way...)

Dawnbringer: Dawn was the naive, lady like little sister who grew up and became a force to be reckoned with, but still feminine. She controlled light instead of fire and wielded a sun-shaped shield....say that 5 times fast. In Rez, she's a sexy tomboy who's aggressive, ready for a fight, and turns into a motorcycle. She's really childish about it, too. Kinda like a younger Prime Arcee for a comparison. She wields a napalm blaster and fire infused blades as well.

Sideeye: Sideeye was originally supposed to be transgender and turned into a motorcycle as a hint to this. He was already with Circuit Breaker long before we met them, and was a kind big brother figure; humble but not afraid to show his skills as a sniper. And he was the second shortest Herald. Here, the ego is turned up to eleven and they are nonbinary. They turn into a muscle car and are competitive with Bumblebee rather than another OC of mine who you may see later (Wink wink). They are still a darn good sniper and electrokinetic though, and a big ol nerd. Oh, and they're the THIRD shortest now.

Riptide: Essentially Riptide and Dawnbringer swapped roles in this incarnation. Riptide is now a demure, quiet, ladylike ocean princess that also can snap into an aggressive monster at the drop of a hat. Originally she was from a colony of water dwelling Cybertronians and a chief's daughter that was in a tragic love situation that made her distant. She LOATHED dresses. Here, she wants to find love but is scared of herself hurting anyone. She's also a big eater, wields a trident instead of a scythe, has a second alt mode in a jet to circumvent the design flaw of having a waterlocked vehicle mode (Lampshaded FREQUENTLY by her).

Circuit Breaker: Arguably, he has changed the least. He still has a combination of brains and brawn, but even more colder and less talkative. You know what else changed? Frag a Swat vehicle, my thoughts are on TANK!! And BIG FRAGGING GUN!! He's also more of a schemer, but a soft side still comes through, especially with Echo and Sideeye. Also he can control all earth rather than just metal, which means yes, he's a metalbender too. Just...don't make him angry, you won't like him when he's angry.

Storm hasn't knocked my power out (yet) so I've been vibing and chipping away at IFs and VNs on my backlog (RIP to my console games collecting dust, I finished Wylde Flowers a bit ago and Baldur's Gate 3 still ain't on xbox ☠️)

Concert Review: Pearl Jam

9/17/24 @ Fenway Park (Boston, MA)

Just last week I got to see Jane's Addiction literally implode onstage. This week I got to see their alt-rock peers in Pearl Jam play a lot nicer. This was PJ's second night at Fenway Park of this tour. Let me just say at the onset of this review that there is a reason Pearl Jam is considered one of the greatest live bands on the planet! I was lucky enough to see them in Aug. 2000 at Great Woods in Mansfield, MA. I, then, had the pleasure of seeing them in 2018 at Fenway Park (read my review here) and was struck by how they had actually gotten better since the first time I saw them 18 years earlier. I also got to review their 2017 live CD / DVD Let's Play Two, which covered their 2016 shows at Chicago's Wrigley Field, and it showed the sheer fandom that singer Eddie Vedder had for the Chicago Cubs. Which is why it was classy to hear him speak so respectfully about Fenway Park and its history and place in baseball history. Bassist Jeff Ament wore a Larry Bird t-shirt and guitarist Mike McCready wore a shirt of the band Boston. So the fact that PJ are returning to Fenway Park was something super special!

Going into this concert, I knew it was going to be an epic show, but I was speechless by where I was watching from. I was on the turf at Fenway Park, easily the best seats I've ever had for a concert at Fenway Park! I felt like I was at the center of the universe - unbelievable! I missed opening act Glen Hansard, who performed with Olivia Vedder (yes - the daughter of some guy in PJ). I was a fan of the 2021 Flag Day soundtrack that featured Glen, Olivia and her dad, so it's too bad I missed it, but fortunately Glen Hansard came out in the middle of PJ's set and sat with Eddie Vedder for a cover of "Falling Slowly", Glen's famous song from Once.

PJ brought their A-Game to Fenway. Not just Eddie, but Guitarists McCready and Stone Gossard, bassist Ament, drummer Matt Cameron and touring keyboardist Boom Gaspar and multi-instrumentalist Josh Klinghoffer (he appeared on Eddie's 2022 solo album Earthling) were all in top form. They did a ton of hits off of Ten, Vs., and Vitology, and some songs off of albums they've released since (although surprisingly nothing off of Binaural, Pearl Jam, or Lightning Bolt), but what I was most excited to see in this concert was hearing them do songs off of their most recent albums Gigaton and Dark Matter. Sadly for everyone Gigaton had the misfortune of being released in March 2020 shortly after lockdowns and we didn't get a proper Gigaton tour. At this show, the only song they did off that album was "Superblood Wolfmoon". It would've been cool to get some of the other songs off that album like "Retrograde", but beggars can't be choosers. But since Dark Matter is the newer album, that overshadowed Gigaton and they played five of the 11 songs off the new album.

nothing like playing Fenway Park

Highlights of the show for me were "Daughter", "Untitled", "F***in' Up" (a Neil Young and Crazy Horse cover they've been doing for decades now), "Why Go", and "Yellow Ledbetter". Earlier this year, Eddie hinted in the press that the band may only be around for another album or two. While I hope that's not the case, this particular show is very much a tough act to follow. But if anyone can top themselves it's PJ!
