Cal Upsets Reigning Champion USC 3-2
Golden Bears Break Program Wins Record
PALO ALTO – It was a historic day for the third-seeded California beach volleyball team (27-8) as the Golden Bears upset second-seeded USC (28-4) in the second round of the Pac-12 Championship 3-2. Cal remains in the winner's bracket with its first 2-0 start in program history. Just the third win over the reigning national champion Trojans in school history, Thursday's victory was also the Bears' first win over a top-two seed in the conference tournament. If that weren't enough, they broke the program wins record with their 27th of the season and saw a handful of individual milestones reached as well. No. 3 Cal 3, No. 2 USC 2 A coin flip earlier in the week determined that the match would begin with the even pairs in the first flight, and they were near perfect. The court two pair of seniors Ainsley Radell and Ashley Delgado took down the Trojans handedly in the first set 21-14, and the court four pair of senior Lexi McKeown and sophomore Ella Dreibholz grinded out a tight 21-19 win to give the Bears the first two sets of the dual. The second set on both courts would go the Bears' way too, and aligned so perfectly that they earned the first two points of the dual within a minute's time. The four pair ran away with it 21-13 and the two pair earned another convincing win 21-16
This first flight saw three Bears reach career milestones as Radell picked up her 80th career win to move into second on the program's wins list and both McKeown and Dreibholz earned their 50th win. With their backs against the wall, the Trojans responded in the only way they could – winning their court one and three matchups to tie the dual at 2-2. It would all come down to court five. On five, junior Brooke Buchner and sophomore Alex Young-Gomez won the first set 21-19 but fell in the second 21-14 to force a tiebreaker. The two teams traded sideouts through the first ten points, but the Bears managed to hold serve a few times late to gain the advantage. Up 14-13, Cal held off USC on its sideout attempt with Buchner finding the dig and the kill to seal the dual.   1 Megan Kraft and Laynie Maple (USC) def. Sierra Caffo and Liz Waters-Leiga (Cal) 22-20 21-11 2 Ashley Delgado and Ainsley Radell (Cal) def. Madison White and Madison Shields (USC) 21-14 21-16 3 Audrey Nourse and Nicole Nourse (USC) def. Maya Gessner and Gia Fisher (Cal) 22-20 21-19 4 Lexi McKeown and Ella Dreibholz (Cal) def. Delaney Karl and Ashlyn Rasnick-Pope (USC) 21-19 21-13 5 Brooke Buchner and Alex Young-Gomez (Cal) def. Olivia Bakos and Gabby Walker (USC) 21-19 14-21 15-13 Order of Finish: 2,4,1,3,5

Why you shouldnt declaw tigers or other big cats
Declawing house cats to keep them from scratching people and furniture is controversial — and even banned in some countries and areas in the U.S. — but the practice is not limited to house cats. In a new study, researchers looked at the effects of declawing on larger cat species and found that declawing disproportionately impacts their muscular capabilities as compared to their smaller brethren. While it is illegal in the U.S. to surgically modify an exotic animal, declawing is still done on large cats like lions and tigers, often in an effort to allow cubs to more safely be handled in photo opportunities or for entertainment purposes. “What people might not realize is that declawing a cat is not like trimming our fingernails; rather, it is removing part or all of the last bone of each digit,” says Adam Hartstone-Rose, professor of biological sciences at North Carolina State University and corresponding author of the research. “Like us, each cat finger has three bones, and declawing is literally cutting that third bone off at the joint.” The researchers looked at the muscular anatomy of over a dozen exotic cats — from smaller species including bobcats, servals and ocelots, to lions and tigers — to determine the effect of declawing on their forelimb musculature. They measured muscle density and mass, and also examined muscle fibers from both clawed and declawed exotic cats. They found that for the larger species declawing resulted in 73% lighter musculature in the forearm’s digital flexors. These muscles are involved in unsheathing the claws. They also found that overall, forelimb strength decreased by 46% to 66%, depending on the size of the animal, and that other muscles in the forelimb did not compensate for these reductions. “When you think about what declawing does functionally to a housecat, you hear about changes in scratching, walking or using the litter box,” says Lara Martens, NC State undergraduate student and lead author of the research. “But with big cats, there’s more force being put through the paws. So if you alter them, it is likely that the effects will be more extreme.” This is because paw size and body mass don’t scale up at a 1:1 ratio. Paw area increases at a slower rate than does body mass (which is proportional to volume), so larger cats have smaller feet relative to their body size, and their paws must withstand more pressure. “Additionally, big cats are more reliant on their forelimbs — they bear most of the weight, and these bigger cats use their forelimbs to grapple because they hunt much larger prey,” Martens says. “So biomechanically speaking, declawing has a more anatomically devastating effect in larger species.” “As scientists, it is our job to objectively document the effects of this surgery on the animals,” Hartstone-Rose says, “but it is hard to ignore the cruelty of this practice. These are amazing animals, and we should not be allowed to cripple them, or any animals, in this way.” The work appears in Animals. NC State undergraduates Sarah Piersanti, Arin Berger, and Nicole Kida, and Ph.D. student Ashley Deutsch, also contributed to the research. The work was done in partnership with colleagues from Carolina Tiger Rescue, a sanctuary that rescues exotic carnivores, especially big cats, who have often been neglected or mistreated.

survey #169
What’s something you used to believe in that you don’t anymore? God. Or at least, one that has anything to do with its creations whatsoever, it's either that or there's no god period, I don't feel one way or another about it.
What’s your favorite dinosaur? Spinosaurus and raptor species; I'm particularly fond of how velociraptors are portrayed in the Jurassic Park series, however I know they're now known to be very inaccurate. I tend to be into less feathers on dinos.
Do you believe in reincarnation? If so, what would you like to be reincarnated as? I don't. If I did though, I'd wanna be a lioness, I think.
What are three scents that you like? Baked goods (especially fresh!), lilac, freshly washed linens.
Do you ever use the grounding technique 54321? Yes, it's actually very helpful to me, especially if someone else is with me asking to list the things off verbally. It gets me out of my head.
Where would you relocate if you were forced to leave your place of residence? I've got a strong feeling Girt would take me immediately, and probably Mom too. I KNOW he would if it was either his place or nowhere. Literally the only reason I'm unsure about her as far as an immediate situation is because Girt actually already has a friend living with he and his mom, so there's no spare bedroom, but they do have a long couch and my mom's never cared much about having to sleep on a couch.
What smells better... fresh baked bread or fresh brewed coffee? Those are two of my favorite smells ever, but bread.
Have you ever met a president? No. For some really odd reason that NOBODY understood though Biden was actually in my city a few days ago????? He visited a community college with a police escort and everything and it was basically a meme on Facebook because we were all like......... sir why are you HERE of all shitty places
Has anyone ever given you a gag gift? Not that I recall.
Do you find smoking unattractive? Smoking in itself, yes. I'm perfectly capable of being attracted to smokers, though. It's the act itself that I think is gross.
Do you think flirting is cheating? It is to me, yes.
Have you ever liked someone who had a girl/boyfriend? Yes.
Would you ever take someone back if they cheated on you? Absolutely not.
What's a word that starts with the third letter of your first name? Intrepid.
How many wives or husbands do you want? Just one. Not of each haha, one legal partner of any gender.
What's your favorite color gummy bear? I don't think I've ever had a favorite? I'd probably have to try them again, I don't often have gummy bears.
What's the last movie you saw in the theater? Still The Black Phone. I wanna go see the Barbie movie with Girt though when it's out next month.
What color is your iPod? Hot pink.
What’s a quality that your sister has that you absolutely can’t stand? Ashley has become immensely passive; she does whatever her husband wants, even if it's stupid and shit that's unfair to her. Nicole is very unaffectionate, except with kids; me and Mom both struggle with how reluctant she is to show she cares and loves, especially with how she was raised. She's very distant and wrapped up in her own world, and yeah, it's very hurtful sometimes.
Have you ever dated a smoker? If not, would you? For less than a day I did. I don't think I'd do it now; I wouldn't break up with Girt if he started, but I don't want to go into a new relationship with one, I'm not fearfully waiting for my partner to get lung cancer.
Do you share a middle name with any of your siblings? Yes, one.
Name one of your psycho exes? None, I was the psycho ex.
Have you ever been drunk at work? I've never been drunk to begin with.
Have you ever taken a pregnancy test? Never one that you buy yourself at the store, I've only ever been checked via urine tests pre-medical procedures at the doctor's office just because it's protocol.
Do your shoulder blades protrude? God no not anymore, they haven't for years. It was a prom picture taken from behind us that made me realize mine did, I want my hot back back lmfao GIVE HER TO ME
How many bananas have you ever eaten in a row? There's no way I ever woulda gone beyond two, and even two right after the other basically never happens.
Do you have a protective father? No, not really. Like yeah, I know my dad wants me safe and would protect me if needed, but he's not the kind to take pre-measures to prevent something from happening to me.
Have you ever had to choose between two people? On a few occasions, yeah. First and most alarmingly was either keep my then-best friend or basically steal her boyfriend I helped her get with to begin with, then I chose Jason over Juan, and part of the reason I left Girt the first time we dated was because I realized I liked Sara, and I wasn't about to be unfair to him. The only reason I don't regret doing that is because I really do not think I was ready to date another man during that time period, and besides, dating Sara did verify to me that I'm not straight. It made me more confident in my sexuality.
The last thing you remember dreaming about: Oh my god I had the most fucking disgusting nightmare I have EVER had, like I am not even going here, just know I was losing my fucking mind in my sleep.
The last place you went: Medical building to get blood taken today; in exactly a week I'm seeing my endocrinologist again for updates.
The last time you held a baby: When my three-year-old niece literally WAS a baby.
What’s the scariest video game you’ve ever played? I think the OG Outlast was truly an incredible and very good horror game (I also just hate chase sequences, they ramp my anxiety up so bad, and the game loves those lmao), however a horror game I just straight-up can't play is SCP Containment Breach just because of the damn jumpscares, they are SO fucking intense and I REALLY hate how loud and sudden they can be with one specific enemy. I tried the game once and it's just not for me, but I love watching let's plays of it.
If you had the chance to slip through a portal, despite being unaware of any of the effects and/or consequences, would you do it? No, too risky.
When someone copies you, are you more flattered or annoyed? I mean I suppose this depends, but if you're talking about copying my own creative ideas, I find that very annoying and disrespectful.
Which is worse: Stale chips or flat soda? Stale chips. While I don't prefer flat soda, I'll still drink it; I can't do really stale chips.
What health problems do you have? A whole lotta mental stuff that I just don't feel like listing off, severe hypothyroidism, essential tremors, sleep apnea (supposedly what's responsible for my nightmares/terrors, which are on their own a massive problem), hyperhidrosis, low blood pressure, high cholesterol, very severe xerostomia (just the technical term for dry mouth), gastrointestinal issues, acid reflux so severe I have to take an antacid daily, and I'm still rebuilding muscle from atrophy in my legs. I qualify as obese and that comes with its own set of problems; some of those, I've already listed right here. I also carry inactive MRSA, but it's not an active infection or anything.
Do you believe shoplifting is ok in some circumstances? I will never fault misfortunate people who "steal" necessities to fucking survive. They shouldn't be REQUIRED to do that to fucking live.
Have you ever had an anaphylactic reaction to anything? No, thank fuck.
Do you have sensitive skin? Yes, I have bad dry skin.
What would you name a baby boy? I think Damien Vance, but idk, I'm not super dedicated to a hypothetical son's name.
What would you name a baby girl? So long as she'd have my current partner's last name, I'd be very hard-pressed for Miquella ("me-kell-uh") Lynn.
Do people's rude comments bother you for a long time? Yes, they basically never leave me.
Name three things you find boring. Sporting events, politics and economic talk, and waiting at doctor's offices and similar locations.
What excites you? Seeing animals I don't normally see, making an artistic thing I'm proud of, and anticipating a good surprise. Emphasis on KNOWING it's a good thing, anticipation over things that may be negative is a very bad experience for me.
Would you send your kids to Sunday school? You'd have to fucking kill me before I let anyone put my children through that. I grew up forced to go to one and it did me ABSOLUTELY nothing but harm.
What is the most interesting biography you have read? Well I've only read two biographies in general: Ozzy's autobiography and then one by Joe Berlinger that had to do with Metallica and the making of a specific film involving the band. Honestly the one by Joe was IMMENSELY boring to me, despite reading the whole thing just because at the time I was very into the band. Ozzy's was great though, he's such a fuckin goof that censors NOTHING and when he dies he's legally obligated to take me with him.
Do you think your life story would make a good book someday? I mean I suppose it could, with how much resilience and clawing up a mountain you've kept slipping down has been required throughout my life. It's not gonna be super action-packed or with a thrilling plot, but hey, I didn't give up lol.
Do you buy art for your walls? Mom actually will be for me once she gets some bills taken care of; we spent a bit of time looking at room decor for the remodel of mine, and we did pick out one of those three square panel pieces of art that's gonna go above my headboard. It's super pretty, and nature-based of course.
Would you ever decorate a room with a travel theme? No.
What insects do you think are pretty? Butterflies, moths, mantises, dragonflies, colorful and glossy beetles, blue hornworm larva, and there's certainly more.
Do you love God? No, I don't love abusers.
Is there an ice cream flavor that you strongly dislike? Which one? That I know of, I really dislike strawberry; I love strawberry sherbert, but not straight-up ice cream.
Do you own any books with an image of a cat on the front cover? lol oh boy my Warriors book collection still exists in storage...
Does anything you own have an image of a bird on it? Yeah, my planner involves lots of fruit and bird imagery. It's very possible there's more stuff.
Does anyone you know own a spaniel? How about an Irish setter? I don't know about right now, but my Teddy boy's mom was a cocker spaniel, and Dale was also half cocker spaniel.

Black History Month: Nonfiction
The 1619 Project edited by Nikole Hannah-Jones
In late August 1619, a ship arrived in the British colony of Virginia bearing a cargo of twenty to thirty enslaved people from Africa. Their arrival led to the barbaric and unprecedented system of American chattel slavery that would last for the next 250 years. This is sometimes referred to as the country’s original sin, but it is more than that: It is the source of so much that still defines the United States.
The New York Times Magazine’s award-winning “1619 Project” issue reframed our understanding of American history by placing slavery and its continuing legacy at the center of our national narrative. This new book substantially expands on that work, weaving together eighteen essays that explore the legacy of slavery in present-day America with thirty-six poems and works of fiction that illuminate key moments of oppression, struggle, and resistance. The essays show how the inheritance of 1619 reaches into every part of contemporary American society, from politics, music, diet, traffic, and citizenship to capitalism, religion, and our democracy itself.
All That She Carried by Tiya Miles
In 1850s South Carolina, an enslaved woman named Rose faced a crisis, the imminent sale of her daughter Ashley. Thinking quickly, she packed a cotton bag with a few precious items as a token of love and to try to ensure Ashley's survival. Soon after, the nine-year-old girl was separated from her mother and sold.
Decades later, Ashley's granddaughter Ruth embroidered this family history on the bag in spare yet haunting language - including Rose's wish that "It be filled with my Love always." Ruth's sewn words, the reason we remember Ashley's sack today, evoke a sweeping family story of loss and of love passed down through generations. Now, in this illuminating, deeply moving book inspired by Rose's gift to Ashley, historian Tiya Miles carefully unearths these women's faint presence in archival records to follow the paths of their lives - and the lives of so many women like them - to write a singular and revelatory history of the experience of slavery, and the uncertain freedom afterward, in the United States.
Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates
In a profound work that pivots from the biggest questions about American history and ideals to the most intimate concerns of a father for his son, Ta-Nehisi Coates offers a powerful new framework for understanding our nation’s history and current crisis. Americans have built an empire on the idea of “race,” a falsehood that damages us all but falls most heavily on the bodies of black women and men - bodies exploited through slavery and segregation, and, today, threatened, locked up, and murdered out of all proportion. What is it like to inhabit a black body and find a way to live within it? And how can we all honestly reckon with this fraught history and free ourselves from its burden?
Between the World and Me is Ta-Nehisi Coates’s attempt to answer these questions in a letter to his adolescent son. Coates shares with his son - and readers - the story of his awakening to the truth about his place in the world through a series of revelatory experiences, from Howard University to Civil War battlefields, from the South Side of Chicago to Paris, from his childhood home to the living rooms of mothers whose children’s lives were taken as American plunder. Beautifully woven from personal narrative, reimagined history, and fresh, emotionally charged reportage, Between the World and Me clearly illuminates the past, bracingly confronts our present, and offers a transcendent vision for a way forward.
A Black Women’s History of the United States by Daina Ramey Berry & Kali Nicole Gross
In centering Black women’s stories, two award-winning historians seek both to empower African American women and to show their allies that Black women’s unique ability to make their own communities while combatting centuries of oppression is an essential component in our continued resistance to systemic racism and sexism. Daina Ramey Berry and Kali Nicole Gross offer an examination and celebration of Black womanhood, beginning with the first African women who arrived in what became the United States to African American women of today.
A Black Women’s History of the United States reaches far beyond a single narrative to showcase Black women’s lives in all their fraught complexities. Berry and Gross prioritize many voices: enslaved women, freedwomen, religious leaders, artists, queer women, activists, and women who lived outside the law. The result is a starting point for exploring Black women’s history and a testament to the beauty, richness, rhythm, tragedy, heartbreak, rage, and enduring love that abounds in the spirit of Black women in communities throughout the nation.

COBYCOBS UBERHOOD, SEASON 4: “Rebels”
Chapter 5 part 2 of 2: “Anonymous”
Heather went to look for Tiffany as soon as possible so she could explain everything that happened. In a place.
Tiffany (Crying and eating a snack): Why did you say that thing about me...
Heather (Sincere): Tiff, that was all a misunderstanding, Britt started saying those things... We're so sorry, we didn't want to hurt your feelings...
Tiffany (Sad): Listen to me Heather... Between friends there is no need to criticize each other, she bothered me that you would listen to Brittany's words.
Heather (Listening to her friend): Maybe Britt did it because we see you very close to Jimmy, and you disappear from our plans...
Tiffany: You say that because all the boys swoon over you... But nobody pays attention to me... What's more, I think I'm on Roxie Sharpe's list of the ugliest...
Heather: You are NOT ugly! You are super cool and beautiful! Surely you will find the boy of your dreams... of course, but don't forget about us!
Tiffany (Showing a shy smile): Really?...
Heather (Apologizing to the brunette girl): Sure! Please forgive me, Tiffany... We really need you! Without you our group of divas wouldn't be the same! remember that today we will start giving a makeover to the girls we chose. I swear on my Llamicci Wallet!
Tiffany (Smiling): Really? I'm always the one who needs you!
Heather: I need you so much! You know how hard it is to be me!
Tumblr media
The two friends hugged each other.
In another part of the Hotel.
Castor, Kevin, Ashley and Joshua were talking about some things.
Joshua (While looking at Castor): But nothing serious happened to you?
Castor: No, they just stole some watches and a ring...
At that moment, Tank Grunt and Romeo Monty approach.
Tumblr media
Tank and Romeo: Hey guys! What are you doing?
Ashley: Here bored and seeing if any of the girls pass by here.
Tumblr media
Romeo: Really? HAHAHA! Juliette and I are going to a super cool place.
In the distance came Heather, Tiffany, Ella, Paris, Natsuki, Juliette and Nicole.
Tumblr media
Heather (Telling a few things to the girls): And that's why you two are the ones chosen for my big makeover! Right girls?
Nicole (Shy): Actually, I would like to be part of your group Heather but... I don't want to be any problem...
Paris: Swetie, you have a lot to learn! Girls, you two are super beautiful and super fabulous! All you need is to shine your potential, right Natsuki?
Natsuki: Of course! Besides, there will be a party today... So we can teach them a few things!
The guys tried to get Kevin to talk to Ella, but he was too nervous, so Tank pushed him towards the girls.
Kevin (Nervous): H-Hello girls!.
Heather (Smiling): Hi Kevin! ElIa, this is Kevin Beare.
Tumblr media
Ella (Smiling at the blond boy): Nice to meet you, my name is Ella Goth Lothario!
Natsuki (Interrupting): Girls, we must go!!, The party will be very soon!
Meanwhile with Allegra
The black-haired girl looked at her cell phone to call Sergio Nova.
Allegra (While she called Castor Nova's father): And now... The fun will come... Good afternoon! Is Mr. Nova here?...
Later.
The party was taking place, some boys were talking and others were playing.
Paris and Natsuki were talking about something super private.
Natsuki (As she adjusts her hair extensions): What if you're ready for your first Woohoo with Mercutio?.
Tumblr media
Paris: Obviously Natsuki! He told me that he would be ideal for a princess like me!
Meanwhile with Ella and Heather.
Heather looked at her "New Project", Ella, she looked very beautiful dressed in red.
Heather: Don't you think you're already very dressed in red?.
Tumblr media
Ela: The truth is, my grandfather says that I look like my grandmother... She disappeared and she never came back...
Heather: Well, today you will learn how to enjoy a party like an SSU Diva! Pay attention please!
With Castor and Ashley.
The two boys wanted to escape from the party.
Cástor: Well Ash, a car will come right now to pick us up and take us away from here.
Ashley: Really? Great!
Castor (Smiling): Besides, Brittany will be busy singing a song I wrote and she won't notice we're gone.

Survey #349
“we’ll meet again, when both our cars collide”
When was the last time you had a PopTart? It's been many, many months. Do you like hot chocolate? Well duh. Who made you laugh the hardest today? I haven't really laughed today. Who was the last person to promise you something, and what was it? Hmph. Would you ever jump into a fire to save your bestfriend? I know I would. Do you have a callus from writing too much? No, I only have calluses on my feet from when I used to walk for hours on end. They just never permanently went away, even with grooming. Who is someone you’ve made a bad first impression on? I dread to guess what the girl Jason dated after me was told about me. I shouldn't care at all, but I do. I have every reason to accurately be defined as "the crazy ex," and I fucking hate it. Who is your best guy friend? Girt, a friend from high school. Do you read cereal boxes while you’re eating? I did as a kid, but now I don't. I just kinda stand and eat. What’s the last thing you accidentally (or purposely) burnt? I kinda burnt the roof of my mouth on pizza the other night. Do you know anyone with a lip piercing? Me, haha. I know others, too. What did the last tattoo you saw, look like? I don't remember. Have you ever given birth? NO FUCKING THANK YOU. Do you enjoy making out? I mean if I'm in the mood to and I love you, yeah. Why exactly do you take surveys? "I genuinely like doing them and they’re great for venting and sorting out thoughts and whatnot. I can just ramble and get things off my chest." <<<< This right here covers it. As well, it's just a boredom killer. And I happen to be bored very, very often. Rockband or Gutair Hero? Both are great, why choose just one? What are you listening to right now? Halocene's cover of "Helena" by My Chemical Romance. It's beautiful. What kind of energy drinks do you drink, if any? None, because I just can't do energy drinks. They taste like pure poison to me. Have you ever been swimming in a river? No. Swimming in a river sounds pretty dangerous... Does your alarm clock wake you with music, or with an annoying buzz sound? Music. When you broke stuff in the house as a child, did you blame it on siblings? I'm hoping you don't mean breaking deliberately, 'cuz I wasn't that kind of kid. But anyway, I don't believe I did. Did you make it all the way through the Oregon Trail game? Yes. I was obSESSED with those games as a kid. Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Which one are you more scared of? Tigers, probably. They're so stealthy and, while I may be entirely wrong, seem like the top candidate of the three to attack a human, be it for food or defense. And have you SEEN the muscles on a tiger? Christ. Describe the best use that you’ve found for duct tape: Uh, taping things lmao. Do you wrap gifts or use gift bags? I use gift bags, because I can't wrap for shit. What fast food place do you avoid at all costs? Arby's is really gross to me. Are you afraid of deep sea creatures? Just giant squid... *shudders* Have you ever agreed to purchase something on Ebay and got scammed somehow? No. I did, however, purchase something on deviantART and never got the product. It was going to be a present for Jason. In dA's defense though, I've bought like... two or three other things from there, and there were zero issues. It's really about the people you trust. If you get a call that says “Unknown”, do you answer it? Nnnnope. Do you have any bobble head figures? No. Have your parents ever left you somewhere without realizing it? I don't think so. Have you ever been in a tanning bed? No. Did your last kiss mean anything to you? Well yeah, I wouldn't have kissed her otherwise. Would you say that you have a nice smile? No; I've been self-conscious of it since I was a kid, mostly because one of my eyes looks more squinty than the other, but they both are to me. I've always said I look high when I smile lmao. Is there an ex you want to make up with? My mind immediately screams "Jason," but I know that's a horrendous idea. Our last talk ended peacefully and even with care and good wishes, and I need my fucking impenetrable head to accept that's where it needs to end. He does NOT need to re-enter my life. It would be so bad for me. Do you remember how you felt on 9/11? I have no memory of it, if I'm being honest. What outfit makes you feel the most attractive? None. Other than yourself, who knows you the best? Really? Whoever reads these lmao. What’s one complaint that you have about school? Common Core and how every student's school experience was not tailored towards their unique goals. Like they try to cram a shitload of identical and usually useless information into a kid's brain to make them a jack of all trades, you could say, but not enough information they need to properly pursue their career future. It causes such an unnecessary amount of frustration and stress. I have many, many complaints about the education system, but this one tops the list. What do you do while you’re on campus but not in class? Back in college, I would just do stuff on my laptop. Do you know anyone who has Autism/Asperger’s syndrome? Yes. Are you open to a same-sex relationship and why or why not? Well, considering I'm bisexual... Do you remember life without the internet? No. Have you ever found yourself to be ugly? I've gone my entire life thinking I'm ugly, if I'm being real. What is your state’s minimum wage? $7.25 a fucking hour. :'''''') Is there something you want to say to someone but can’t/won’t? There's a few people. What is your first memory of being in a hospital? Considering my mom worked at the local hospital when I was a kid, I remember being there quite, quite young, playing with my older sister in Mom's and her coworkers' room. I think Nicole was too young to really "play." Do you have any relatives with red hair? No. What is something good that has happened to you in the past week? I got my first Covid vaccine. My arm hurts like a motherfucker now, but to protect my mom, it's worth it. Please get vaccinated. How much was the rent/mortgage at the cheapest place you’ve ever lived? That's never been my business. Have you ever been to a gay pride parade? No, but I would go to a local one if I could actually walk five feet without being in serious pain and sweating like a pig. Do you still keep in touch with your very first best friend? We're friends on Facebook, but that's it. What was the topic of the last conversation you had with your dad? I can't remember, but it was recent, because we all met at Ashley's house for Nicole's birthday celebration. How often did you visit your grandparents when you were growing up? Pretty much never, given they all lived no less than like, 10 hours (via car) from where we lived. My immediate family are the only people in NC. When two family members are fighting, what do you usually do? Stay out of it, but admittedly try to listen just to know what's going on. Do you like the smell of men’s cologne? Yeah. What’s your all time FAVORITE freezer food? Do you eat that a lot? I survive off of microwaveable freezer food, so this is very hard... uhhhhh... perhaps this Banquet bowl meal that's mac 'n cheese with spicy chicken. It's absolutely delicious, like you'd never guess that sucker was just popped in the microwave. I'd say I eat it a moderate amount; it's a reliable option if Mom's not cooking and I'm really hungry, because it's super filling. Do you like documentaries? Have you ever watched one and find it boring? I enjoy them, particularly when they're about animals. Were you ever a fan of macaroni & cheese? Do you like Kraft dinner? Ha, speak of mac 'n cheese. I love it, and Kraft makes it fine. Do you burn incense? Not as much as I used to. I love the smell and just general vibe, though. What would you consider an unacceptable first date? Going to a bar or something. Have you ever been so sick you had to be taken to the hospital? In the head, anyway. Is there anything currently bothering you? Multiple things. Would you say that you’ve got something ‘special’ about you? No. Do you like things vampire-related? I don't really have an opinion on vampire stuff. Are you the kind of person who does not like talking about their past? I don't care. Have you ever been to a casino? No. What’s the last thing you wore a costume for besides Halloween related events? Back when I still took dance classes and we had the yearly recital. What does your father do for a living? He's a mailman. What’s the last app you downloaded on your phone? Haha, I re-downloaded this ollllldddd game I had before, Nyan Cat: Lost in Space (or something like that?) for my niece to play. She's hooked on it now. Are you in any discomfort right now? Yeah; as I mentioned, my arm really hurts. What do you know the most about? Of all things I know, almost certainly meerkats. Are you seeing anyone? No. Have you ever hooked back up with an ex, just for sex? Was it a mistake or no? No. Have you ever gotten in trouble for using a phone in class? No, because I didn't use my phone in class. Have you seen all the Shrek movies? No, which is a fucking crime. I need to see the last one. Have you ever finished a whole video game? Plenty plenty plenty. Do you know anyone with a pet snake? Yeah, myself included. If you had to live in an extreme environment — think Sahara, Antarctica, under the sea, on the Moon— where would you want to live? Why? Probably Antarctica. I'm sure it would be unpleasant, being that cold, but I feel there's more you can do about being cold than being in the scalding heat of, say, the Sahara. Living on the moon or in the deep ocean sounds super sucky. How was your day overall? It's been okay. Not as bored as usual, at least. How many people of the opposite sex do you fully trust? Like... zero. I want to say my dad, and I almost do, just... nightmares make that very, very difficult. Plus his past. What does your mom call you? Normally just "Britt." Write a sentence in another language: Oh god, my German is so rusty... uhhhh... Hallo, ich heiße Brittany, und ich bin 25 Jahre alt und wohne in North Carolina. I think I got the grammar right? Have you ever sent an X-Rated picture to someone? No. Even if I was comfortable with my body, I would be way too paranoid to at any point have a naked picture on my phone, even if I deleted it. Like, hello blackmail, but also, nothing you delete is ever really gone permanently. What big city do you live near? Raleigh is like an hour away. Do you like breaded chicken sandwiches? omg YES Is there a Sonic in your area? Yes, it's my favorite fast food joint. You have GOT to try the pretzel twists with cheese dip. Have you ever gone to a thrift store? Yeah, I love 'em. Do you think Johnny Depp is attractive? I do. Are you happy with the state you live in? No, not at all. I hate this place. Bunch of homophobic, racist rednecks. How many times have you seen the opposite sex naked? It's not like I counted every time I saw my ex naked over three and half years lmao. How many times have you seen the same sex naked? A few times. When days go by, do you cross them off on the calendar? I don't use a calendar. Are you currently counting down to something? If so, what? MY TATTOO APPOINTMENT!!!!! :''') I know I can't stop talking about it, but ugh I'm so excited. May 19th, c'mon already. Do you pay rent to your parents? No. Do you dye eggs for Easter? I used to as a kid. Not so much anymore. Are you in debt right now? For what? Oh god, I don't want to think of this. Would you ever work night crew? I really, really wouldn't want to. Humans are diurnal for a reason. Being awake in constant darkness would depress the fuck outta me, and it'd feel so lonely, with everyone I know asleep. Who was the last person that lied to you, or that you can recall lying to you? What did they lie about? How did you find out they were lying? I don't remember. Has anyone ever called you ugly, straight up, before? How did you react to this? No, not to my face. Who is the most stubborn person you know {excluding yourself}? MY MOTHER.
