Max Headcanons

She suffers from night terrors and PTSD

After Vecna, Max has trouble walking sometimes after the damage done to her legs, and is meant to use a wheelchair (she hates it). She gets chronic migraines and is supposed to wear glasses to help with her vision. (She hates them too.)

During her panic attacks, she usually requests to be with Billy, and if he's unavailable, she likes listening to Running Up That Hill.

Max is attached to Will, El, and Lucas. She goes everywhere with them.

She currently lives in two homes: Billy's and The Hopper-Byers.

She still likes to skateboard, even if it's harder for her to do now.

Shes a tomboy, but she still enjoys dressing up and going out with El. July 1985 before the mindflayer incident holds some of her favorite memories.

She has a small collection of Barbies, and even at 16, she still pulls them out and plays with them. (Billy sometimes joins her.)

Billy and Max will sometimes bake together.

How often do they show their genuine emotions to others versus just the audience knowing?

Depends on the audience. With friends, he's quite genuine, though he does tend to hide his more negative feelings even from them. With the general public, he's very good at playing the charming rogue. The only person he's willing to be fully open with is Aden, or a romantic partner, if he has one.

Do they give tough love or gentle love most often? Which do they prefer to receive?

He tends to fall somewhere in the middle. He'll be harsh when the need arises, but he's found that constructive criticism is more effective than snapping or being forceful. He prefers to receive the same.

What’s a secret they haven’t told serious romantic partners and don’t plan to tell?

He really doesn't have one. He's rather open when it comes to his partners, because he would want the same in return. He understands that there may be things that are held back for one reason or another however, and will not press.

If they’re scared, who do they want comfort from? Does this answer change depending on the type of fear?

Aden, plain and simple. Unless it's a fear related to a romantic relationship, in which case he'll go to his partner.
