I have some analyses on Alhaitham and Kaveh being each other's home and family! There's quite a few so I'll be brief with the synopses here as I don't want to bombard you hahaha <3 I have discussed the idea of Alhaitham being the ideal companion/family for Kaveh in an analysis of Kaveh's 2023 birthday letter; the motif of 'home' and what it means for Kaveh and how Alhaitham factors into it; as well as in the relationship between Kaveh's mother and father and how this parallels with Alhaitham and Kaveh's relationship.

In terms of Alhaitham and Kaveh's argument, I've discussed Sumeru's concept of the academic family and how Alhaitham and Kaveh's argument served as the dissolution of their found family, as well as an analysis of their argument, specifically from Alhaitham's omitted perspective. I have also speculated life for the two post-fallout, mostly from Alhaitham's perspective as Kaveh (as usual) is more open in his character stories.

You've highlighted a really key aspect of their relationship which haunts me - they met each other after the respective loss of their own families. Kaveh just said goodbye to his mother as Alhaitham enrolled in the Akademiya, just after his own grandmother passed. This passage described in Kaveh's character story 5 describes this, and then him meeting Alhaitham within the same passage.

Kaveh is described to have 'wishful thinking' regarding his and Alhaitham's friendship, in that, where he initially believed that their views aligned, despite the reality they have differing approaches to life, this isn't inherently a negative thing, as it can lead to new philosophies. Kaveh didn't want to believe that their differences were impossible to surmount, and instead that they complimented each other. Perhaps Alhaitham thought so too? They both agreed to work on a joint thesis together, with this conveying the implications of forming an academic family in Sumeru, with Kaveh trusting Alhaitham in picking a topic that highlighted both of their strengths - which ended up being a project revolving around language and architecture; two subjects which Kaveh now believes to exist on opposite sides of the mirror. Initially, this was to demonstrate the good that could come from balancing these seemingly opposing fields.

Although, it would inevitably come to be that problems arose between them when the differences in their philosophies became a point of contention. The two's previous harmony became misaligned when the assertion that their respective viewpoint was 'correct' over the other. When Kaveh tears up the thesis, he effectively ends the relationship he and Alhaitham built together, as well as the prospect of their found family. Alhaitham, in turn, removed his name from the thesis due to Kaveh's ending of their friendship.

After this, Kaveh graduated and threw himself into work, chasing his ideals, effectively distracting himself - both from the loss of Alhaitham, therefore his loneliness, and from the potential truth that Alhaitham revealed to him about his guilt being the cause of his incessant altruism. Contrarily, Alhaitham's life after this point is devoid of detail, only that he became the Scribe and moved out of his grandmother's house into the property that the Akademiya gifted him and Kaveh for the progress of their abandoned project.

Kaveh describes meeting Alhaitham as one of the most pivotal moments in his life in his hangout, and in A Parade of Providence, he describes their meeting as when his life began to go downhill - indicating, rather, to the consequences of their inevitable falling out. Alhaitham considers Kaveh as one of his priorities in maintaining the way of life he seeks to maintain, and although he is more reticent than Kaveh, in that his inner thoughts are concealed from the player, an instance that stands out to me that their argument personally affected Alhaitham comes from A Parade of Providence. This is when Alhaitham comments on the contradiction of Kaveh's motives, in that he expresses he has bad luck but insists on drawing lots, despite the fact that Faruzan offers to split the points between them. After commenting on this, Kaveh displays genuine frustration with him - to which Alhaitham backs down and switches tact. This is especially prevalent within the EN dub, where Alhaitham stutters before changing topics.

To me this underlines that Alhaitham was just as affected at by their argument as Kaveh was. Especially since this exchange can mirror the very exchange that caused the rift between them - in that Alhaitham points out Kaveh's self-destructive habits and it is perceived as a malicious critique. Alhaitham backs down when seeing that Kaveh is genuinely hurt because he doesn't want to repeat the past - he doesn't want to hurt Kaveh and lose him once more.

This is also encapsulated in the fact that Alhaitham sees Kaveh as his mirror, in that they both have a lack of familial connections. When Alhaitham believes that the presence of another genius can 'perfect' his vision, this isn't just a reference to Kaveh's differing perspectives, this also offers Kaveh as a familial figure to Alhaitham - in that, Alhaitham views Kaveh as his family. Similarly, Kaveh seems to hold an idea that he and Alhaitham are bound by fate, or 'the universe', meaning that he identifies Alhaitham as being essential to him in someway, however, as of now, he struggles with this being a benefit, rather than a negative.

Kavetham/ Haikaveh/ Alhaitham + Kaveh character analysis because yes

a/n: why is their colour christmas themed

This post will contain Kaveh and Al Haitham's past, Haitham's story quest, voicelines spoilers, Sumeru Archon Quest spoilers, shipping mentions!! proceed with caution. Enjoy my 2nd yap session :3

First, Al haitham. No, he is not a cold, apathetic alpha male that will abuse Kaveh (you heard me), he is a man with depth, depth!! He is the Scrbe of the Akademiya, now the Grand Sage, and he not remotely near anything of the fanon interpretations i mentioned above.

He is a man who not so much as struggles with emotions in that sense, but can be extremely blunt when getting his point across, as see throughout the archon quest. Because of this, people around the Akademiya and i think some people outside(?) call him cold, mean, and many negative traits.

Al Haitham was extremely close to his grandmother, and he has no recollection of his mother and father, who died very early in his childhood by a car accident. His grandmother, as far as i know, was one of his closest, perhaps his only family member. And she's dead.

Now, onto the blunt side (i'll get into Kaveh through his paragraph, trust). This blunt side of Al haitham is shown when speaking to Kaveh (i think during his story quest), which may spark the view in game and maybe some fan's interpretations that they hate each other's guts. But Haitham really does care for Kaveh, he just doesn't show it lik how Kaveh shows his care for Haitham, yk? Its a miscommunication issue between these two.

In turn, Laveh is a emotional, and emotionally intelligent man. His kindness is often taken advantage of. An example, Dori and her palace of alcazarzaray, which until now, he still owes debt towards her until now. Kaveh himself is a man who has a heavy and deep story to him. His father had passed away, and he had to watch his mother fall into a deep depression, and eventually, she moved to Fontaine after being offered a job there. So he's alone, great. Kaveh is a man who is emphathetic of the people around him, and ever so thoughtful. But it has its flaws. He's emotionally volatile, and far too considerate of everyone around him. A doormat, essentially.

Now, Haitham and Kaveh's bond. Romantic or platonic, they have history, you cannot deny that. They've known each other since theri schooling days at the Akademiya, and even if everyone who sees them on surface level, think of them as roommates who bicker, hate each other's guts, no. 100% wrong, incorrect buzzer, go cry. They care for each other, in their own little ways, you know? If they did hate each other, you'd think they'd even talk?? Im sure ecen if their roomates, they'd find ways to avoid each other if their enemies.

Kaveh and Haitham's bond, shipping or not, runs much, much deeper than simply schoolmates turned roommates who bicker and argue all day. If Haitham doesn't care for Kaveh, he'd surely kick him out. Dont forget, even though he collects rent from Kaveh, he's willing to let him stay. No enemy does that (yes, im looking at you enemies x y/n stories, no, haitham and kaveh are not that dynamic) for you except in your dreams. Likewise, if Kaveh hates Haitham's guts, he would most likely find his own place by now, even if he is kind and generous with mora, he'd save just to get away. So no, they dont hate each other, enough about 'enemies to lovers' troupe with them.

Now, this may be a lil bit of a stretch, but their voicelines contrast each other perfectly. Kaveh's favourite foods are hot soup and fruits, and Haitham's least favourite food? You guessed it, hot soup because he doesn't like eating that while reading. Even one of their idles match, its even canon, Al Haitham likes to take Kaveh's house keys, making Kaveh wait and have to ask Al Haitham to open the door. The two of them were made with love by hoyo, and whether you ship these two or not, they have a deep and close bond that unless you read their voicelines and stories, and other character's observations of them, its a little bit difficult to understand them both, separately or as a ship.

Conclusion: Al Haithem and Kaveh are complex characters by themselves, and their bond is equally as intricate as them. I may not play genshin as much, but i love them both.

kavetham soulmate au where you share your soulmate’s pain and that’s how kaveh realizes something is wrong:

kaveh’s just discussing the finishing touches for his project with his client when a starburst of pain explodes behind his eyes mid-sentence. he staggers. the pain ebbs a little, but doesn’t fully fade, a dull throbbing in the back of his head. it’s not his pain, he knows, and that means—it’s alhaitham’s. alhaitham’s hurt, a pain strong enough that it’s carried through the soulmate bond. 

he breaks off the conversation with his client with hasty apologies, promises to finish it later or refund a portion of his money, whatever he wants, that he’s sorry but there’s an emergency, he needs to go now—

it’s not unusual for alhaitham to get himself into fights in his pursuit of his research, but he’s always been good with his blade, strong enough to avoid any serious injury. the most kaveh has ended up with is a smattering of shallow cuts and the faint smudges of bruises from the soulmate connection. nothing like this. 

it has him rushing back to the akademiya because what happened, is alhaitham alright, what’s wrong—?

Alright, all I have left for the Loud House are 3D puzzles, geocaches, and Jenga. I tried lol.

For Scara and puppet reader’s wedding, it could either be a mix of both Sumeru and Inazuma? Or they have both. They have enough money to do that. I don’t imagine it to be very big. Small and intimate. Maybe Nahida should officiate the wedding… Hm, Ei would come, I believe. And with her, something to symbolize Makoto so both would be there for the pair. The Aranara should be wedding guests. They’re too cute to not invite.

I do have tentative ideas for the rings tho. I just want to joke about how fast Scara’s untying puppet reader’s obi cause he’s like lightening, aha sorry Cyno and Tighnari, I just had to. Scara legit having a smug look on his face when he realizes he’s the only one happily married. There’s exceptions yea (CtM) but would Traveler really want to have a team composing of Scara, Vyno, and Tighnari? There’s no Nahida to mediate unless… oh and Nahida might have puppet reader with her in Sumeru city when he’s out. Which does make me think that puppet reader covers up and is never seen without layers or their entire body covered except for Scara (and Dottore but that doesn’t count). But pretty puppet reader turning heads in Sumeru City (especially because of their kintsugi) is a THOUGHT. And Tighnari now has matching scars with them lol.

Omg geochaces with these three?! That would be so cool, and the games, it's those activities that they can get along in but jenga is a really reaaaally rigged game (and don't worry about hcs for them, the first fic for poly kavetham is intentionally vague)

I did some searching and there's a LOT of things for their wedding that it's absurd, especially when mixed. But the funny bit is that most pre-wedding traditions in Inazuma Scaramouche had already unintentionally done, like providing labor to his future spouse and exchanging important items with one another. So when Ei told him about these, he was so proud that he was doing it right.

There's also the sakaki tree branch offering in the Japanese traditions, so imagine Nahida plucking two branches from Irminsul for the wedding skdbdikeks did you know in Persian traditions, when doing the "I do" part, the bride is actually asked three times to signify the journey of the husband's effort to work for their love? I think it's adorable to see Scara's smile growing in every "I do" aww

And there's also the Chuppah, the canopy held over the lovers where the four corners are raised by four close female friends during the wedding procession. So I'm thinking Paimon, Lumine, Ei, and Nahida (if Zhongli is the wedding officiator, if not, then Hu Tao). And finally, the shower of flowers but it's mainly the Aranara throwing sakura blooms at them <33

And definitely no to that team, Cyno would try to backstab that man every chance he gets lol but now that you say it, the clothes in Sumeru do cover up a lot of skin it would be perfect to wear those when they're in the city so they don't attract too much attention. But yes, with the Kintsugi and being artificially made, the attention is a definite must more so with the Lesser Lord accompanying them <33 Scara doesn't know whether to be smug or infuriated about this info (while rings are not part of the culture, I think this incident is what convinced him go get one)

Also fuck I forgot Tighnari got struck too ajdbxkankb they definitely have a closer bond then, and looking at Reader's kintsugi (can't really hide the ones on their face) he wonder if he should get his scars tattooed over with gold too, although the pain kind of scares him enough to back down every time. Their friendship would be the bridge to all four (Cyno and Scara) of them getting along honestly, at least to remove the obvious hostility.

Something that has been rubbing me the wrong way is how shippers tend to disregard Alhaithams other relationships when it comes to shipping him with Kaveh. They frame it as if Kaveh is the person he sees worth in keeping a relationship with when that is simply not true.

Throughout the archon quest we see how him and the rest of the Sumeru cast develop relationships to one another as they work together.

We see how him and Dehya find their similarities in eachother despite their different backgrounds. Also he seems to be very fond of Dehya by the end of the quest considering he went out of his way to invite her to work for the Akademiya

We see him and Cyno learn to work together and learn to trust one another, despite the rocky start. He even leaves a trail behind during his story quest for Cyno find, because he trusts he’ll follow it!

He puts his trust into Nilou to help them out in their big plan, and Nilou agrees despite the danger of it to help the out, because she agrees with what they want to achieve. And we see some fun interactions during the competition event when they are commentators.

And at the end of the archon quest he joins the party! He could’ve skipped on it but he doesn’t! He comes to celebrate with them!

Thsi isn’t to say that Kaveh and his relationship is not important, it clearly is. It just sucks to see how these bonds made during the archon quest have been forgotten. Even the game itself has forgotten about these relationships, we have rarely get to see these characters interact anymore, more focus being put in to certain pairs…

I just want to see some acknowledgment in the fact that this man does have more than one important relationship!!! And he puts effort into making these connections!

And also I’d like to see more interaction between all these characters! This isn’t meant to attack any ships either! This is coming from someone who enjoys kavetham! I just love friendship a lot! And friendship is something I believe deserves to be given more value!

Some thots* 🧠 on Penacony

I'm here. Just got off the Express.

I thought I'd be more excited because I finally get to see Aventurine, but I'm not. The Dreamscape is ✨️pretty✨️, undoubtedly, but I'm having a hard time bonding with HSR as a whole. It's too late, though. I'm in too deep to leave.

After watching the cutscene with Sparkle and Aventurine, yeah, I just don't like Sparkle's personality. That bubbly, sassy, "teenage girl but I'm actually a grown woman" bitch character isn't my vibe. I can also see the racism embedded into her character (with Aventurine being heavily Romani coded) and understand why people are rightfully upset. But I can also see it as Hoyo just being brilliant at writing characters and a narrative. Yeah, Sparkle could have been written without being racist, but Hoyo decided not to do that. 🤷‍♀️ I don't even like Sparkle, but she could be so much worse.

The character and story building goes for (I've only played) Genshin and HSR, if they didn't have a heart-wrenching backstory or a deplorable personality, no one would care. All the characters are pretty, we know, but aside from that, no one would care to pull these characters, create social media buzz (✨️free publicity✨️ for Hoyo), or whale on them without that little sprinkle sprinkle of drama. I'm pretty sure there's going to be die-hards and whales looking to pull for Aventurine. I don't know what Sparkle's revenue was, but Acheron had a simp that dropped about $22K on her E6 and light cone in just a few days. 💀💀💀 Last living Oni and she has broken game play too. Brah. Good on him or her, idk.

I also don't genuinely see AvenRatio... It's the mischaracterizations, isn't it?/rhetorical Buff emotionally unavailable scholar with emotionally damaged aesthetic blonde peacock reminding people a little too much of a certain Scribe and Architect, innit?/rh Coming from a Kavetham shipper, I find this ironic.

I stopped at the part where we follow Firefly to her lair because I had to bring my dogs to the vet.

TLDR; if Hoyo didn't make characters or a story that you makes you INHALE it and go stark raving mad over, then they have failed as game developers.
