Ranulf didn't need to be there. Ike had told him many times he was fine being on his own, traveling far off and seeing new places, staying in the shittiest of places, but enjoying every new experience. Yet Ranulf stayed by his side, and while their friendship was true and Ike wouldn't change it for the world, something was tugging on his mind, a feeling that was at the tip of his tongue that he couldn't quite place. What Ranulf made him feel was unique, and it became even more apparent in the small city they had come to. A city lit up with dazzling lights, candles and flames of different colors, lanterns floating in the sky, and balls of light danced among the stars. It was something brand new for both men and it wasn't until Ranulf's fingers brushed his own and Ike caught sight of the light shining off his friend's eyes that it suddenly hit him like a knight in combat.
