Favolaschia calocera, commonly known as the orange pore fungus, is a species of fungus in the family Mycenaceae. Due to its form it is also known as orange pore conch or orange Ping-Pong bat. Throughout much of its expanded range F. calocera is now considered an invasive species. It colonizes ruderal sites along transport routes and can become dominant in habitats disturbed by human activity. Mycologists fear that it may be displacing native fungi species as it spreads through the paleotropics. Фаволаскія калоцера

"Robin, we have been in this forest collecting random plants and mushrooms for at least three hours, and you said five more minutes almost an hour ago. Stop going deeper into the forest-"
Send (=゚ω゚)ノ for my character to react to yours putting a collar on their neck ((I'll only tease you a little since you read the prompt wrong (`∇´) ψ
The hum of the woods had consumed him as he knelt down beside a tree kissed and blessed by Favolaschia calocera, a gorgeous speciman that painted the oak with bright oranges and yellows. As though nature had swept a brush across the bark, and Robin was more than happy to cultivate such a beautiful fungus for his collection. His small scissors snipped the last tether and he let it fall into his jar before he was caught off guard--
A thick collar had been snapped around his neck during Akio's rambles, and he turned back to him with an agape, slightly shocked expression. "I--" And he was yanked! "Aki, you are such a brute sometimes! Using your strength to drag me away from such a wonderful creature, you're beyong cruel. Its just a few minutes!"

here’s something i finished two days ago for school. the assignment was to have the main subject of a skull and fill the background with death symbolism. it’s on 18x24 paper. i used a black posca paint pen, a copic grey marker set, and some micron pens for this one. i tried to make it fisheye but i realized after i traced the thing 3 times and inked it and finished it that the skull wasn’t in fisheye perspective at all.
to describe the symbolism a bit, the skull (obviously). behind it are two guns held by skelly hands. guns are i think the most prominent modern death symbolism. they’re held by skeleton hands as opposed to the fleshy bodies behind them to imply the dead saying “come join us,” or something. coming out of the eyes, mushrooms are 1) the beginnings of life on earth, and 2) the end of life on earth. they link the circle together. the universal recyclers. less obvious is the planet in the background, which i filled with a pattern inspired by Favolaschia Calocera, an orange cool looking mushroom. this was really just a stylistic choice but it reflects by belief in the theory that maybe mushrooms were planted here as a seed of life that originated extraterrestrially. mushroom spores are actually capable of surviving space in some cases. the bodies in the background (which are frankly mid) represent the fact that we’re all in this together, and we all end up in the same place. and space adds a little innocent beauty to the piece, in the hopes that that’s where our souls go when we die.
this is probably the longest time i’ve spent on a piece ever. i used up a whole marker filling in the lighter greys. my black posca marker is now running a little thin. definitely worth it in the end. anyway, if you read all this, thank you! i hope you have a wonderful day and feel free to hmu if you have any questions!
