I love when Riku is in the room where Sora’s sleeping pod is in, and he doesn’t see Sora at first, but when he does he RUNS to him. And then he’s panicked and says, “What have you done to Sora?!” And the way he calms down when he knows he’s not dead or hurt. He’s simply sleeping to get his memories back. And Naminé’s gasp before she says, “Nothing!” Just makes us all feel Riku’s wrath at that moment since she was like “!!!” At his words.
AND THEN!! How when Riku is talking to Xion in 358/2 days, and she asks about where Sora is at the time, Riku’s voice is a little sharper on the ‘that’ when he says, “That secret stays with me.”
AND HIM ADMITTING HE’S NOT MAD…HE’S JUST SAD!!! And wants his best friend back!!!
I love protective Riku when he’s actively showing it😭😭.

Hold onto your keyboards, cause I'm about to get ✨️controversial ✨️
I'd like to preface this by saying all interpretations/ headcanons/ readings/ etc. Are valid and I'm in no way discouraging anyone to change their ways.
I watched (and enjoyed) Baloney's "The Truth About Kingdom Hearts!" And I absolutely adored their take on the series, but one line stuck out to me that I really want to expand on because I don't see it being talked about as often as it should.
Kairi doesn't like Riku.
And I think this is a very RICH and IMPORTANT aspect of the Destiny Trio dynamic. It adds to the complexity of these characters, but especially Kairi.
(Another shout out to @violethowler and their INCREDIBLE Constructing Kingdoms series. The video on"The Girl Who Never Grew Up" made me like and understand Kairi so much more. Highly recommend checking it out.)
Kairi doesn't like Riku, and with some pretty valid reasons, but I'll get to that after I compile all the evidence towards this:
In KH:
Kairi likes her life the way it is. She doesn't desire change, but Riku wants nothing but change. He wants to grow up and move on and see the outside world.
And because Sora looks up to him, Sora has jumped on the bandwagon too. Kairi is going along because Sora is. But it is clear that for Kairi, change =/= good. So what does she say?
"You know, Riku's changed."
Sora asks her how, and she kinda bites her tongue. Clearly she had opinions, but doesn't want to badmouth Soras best friend to him. Later she says, "Sora, don't ever change."
Later, after everything, when Kairi is restored and in Travers Town, she doubts that Riku can be saved, despite the fact that she LITERALLY saved Sora from being a heartless. She almost seems like she's trying to convince Sora not to go, or to at least let her come with-- not to save Riku but because she wants to be there with Sora.
At the end of the game, she obviously return to destiny islands and draws the paopu.
During Chain of Memories, everyone forgets about Sora, but the memories of Riku stay intact. For a year. Kairi is well aware that her "friend" is missing. In fact, last she knew of him, he was still taken by Ansem and presumably dead or at least suffering. She doesn't know.
She knows she's a Princess of Heart and has powers thay can help (as she restored Sora after being a heartless). But the most we get is "he's far away, but I know we'll see him again." Like, do you?
I mean, SELPHIE is the one that says "I sure miss him." That's way more than we EVER get from Kairi.
So for a YEAR, she doesn't spare Riku a single thought. But the SECOND she remembers Sora, she is willing to do anything to see him again.
Here's a little bit of speculation for WHY she doesn't like Riku:
1) Perhaps when she first met them as kids, he reminder her of Xehenort, who kidnapped her and yeeted her into space.
2) Kairi wanted to be best friends with SORA, but not Riku. She's afraid that Sora will follow Riku to the outside worlds (where she doesn't want to go) and leave her behind. If it wasn't for Riku, Sora wouldn't want to leave at all.
3) He (as far as we know) opened the door and damned their home into Darkness. That's probably a point of contention for her. Even though Sora so forgiving.
4) He hurt Sora in KH1, but Sora is still loyal to him. She probably sees that as him taking advantage of Sora-- the person she cares most about.
5) He's the reason Sora never came home. If it wasn't for him, they would have gone home at the end of KH1 together.
I can't say for sure how Riku feels about Kairi. He DID drag her corpse around and give into the darkness to save her, but that can be interpreted as solely wanting to "beat " Sora at being the hero. Even still, we get moment in COM where he reflects on missing her. We even see Namine come to his rescue in her form. I definitely feel like there is less animosity there, but who knows.
That's all.
Roast me, Kairi stans, but I love the depth this reading gives to the story and the potential for arcs and character growth for her and she is forced to face who she is without Sora.

Sora: SLEEP! Why hath thou forsaken me!? For it is the morn, and I remain fatigued! Oh woe is me I say, woe is me indeed! *dramatic flop on the grass*
Kairi: Woooooooow…
Vanitas: *sings “everybody wants to be a cat” while wailing on a practice dummy*
Roxas: have I told you lately how much I hate you?
Riku: it’s been ten minutes in counting so I’m gunna lock in ‘yes’ as my answer.
Kairi: that’s a pretty skirt Xion!
Xion: thanks! I stole it from a dead body in port royal!
Ventus: 🎶zipity doo da, zipity day! My oh my, what an absolute emotionally exausting day!🎶
Lea: well colour me green and call me a tonberry.
Isa: *sighs and reaches for the green paint*
Ventus: we can explain!
Sora: no we can’t.
Ventus: yeah, no actually, he’s right we can’t.
Terra: and what do we say, when the going gets tough?
Riku: the tough ask for a hug?
Terra: yeah they do buddy, come here!
Roxas: we’re you dropped on your head as a child?!
Sora: …I mean, yeah probably?
Aqua: my philosophy is, “if I don’t finish all the wine in my glass, but keep topping it up, I’ve only really had one glass.”
Ventus: why are you wearing sunglesses in the rain?
Vanitas: so my eyes don’t give away that most of the moisture on my face is ✨salty✨.
Aqua: okay, the enemy has Sora surrounded and he’s too weak defend himself, what do you do?
Kairi: decimate every living thing
Riku: unleash the darkest part of my heart and level the battle field.
Roxas: skate board in with a potion and a can of woopass.
Xion: panic?
Ventus: and/or cry?
Vanitas: let the brat die.
Sora: incorrect! The answer was stay back and allow rage form to finish the job!
Aqua: *is speechless*
Isa:… something idiotic is occurring, I can feel it.
Roxas, Lea and Xion: *cycle past on a tandum wearing regency attire*
Aqua: nothing gets past those keen moon senses of your huh?

*Walks in with a slushie* hey so after I sent that ask it made me come up with a whole idea I've come to call the Ghost AU:
Picture this, Ephemer and Brain are the only ones from the original 5 to rebuild keyblade society and live actual lives growing up getting married, becoming masters, and having kids. Yet despite that they're both weighed down by the guilt and despair believing they abandoned their friends to die when escaping the digital daybreak town.
So at the end of their lives all they want is to reunite with their lost friends. When they die Brain and Ephemer do find each other in the afterlife (or the final world) and they're so happy and they missed each other soooooo muuuuuch. Except there's one problem, they can't find the others. So they go searching the afterlife to find them.
This eventually leads them to Strelitzia who goes on to explain that actually they're all still alive. Ven, Skuld, and Lauriam ended up in roughly the same time period just spread apart from each other but worse than that they're all in a pretty bad situation. Determined to right their wrongs Eph and Brain go back to the mortal world to take care of their unfinished business. But of course, being spirits they can't directly affect or interact with anything so they can only do so much.
Ephemer goes in search of Ventus and Brain for Lauriam, and then they plan on finding Skuld together. Ephemer unfortunately finds Ven in the clutches of Xehanort and is helpless to stop the neo shadows from ganging up on him. He reads Xehanorts heart and tries to whisper in his ear this is wrong, you know this isn't right he's just a little boy please don't. Whether Eph recognizes Xehanort as his descendant or not is up to you (personally i think it should be riku but we're not talking about that) but fails to stop the split and can only watch in horror as Ven is ripped apart and left in a cationic state on the near brink of death.
Desperate to save him Ephemer searches for a light strong enough to help, and guess who he finds? On the night of Sora's birth as his heart makes its way to the destiny islands Ephemer guides him to Ven and asks for his help knowing that a pure light will give Ven time to regather his strength. You can also imagine his surprise when he sees Ven dropped off at Eraqus' residence. The only real way for Ephemer to interact with the wayfinders is to go in their dreams and ask them to look after Ven and succeed where he failed. His messages are cryptic on purpose to keep Ven's true identity safe but also forge the subliminal suggestion to keep the younger keyblade wielder safe. And then Ven decides to journey on his own and Ephemer would've had a heart attack if he wasn't already dead and tries and fails to get Ven to go back to LoD. Only to regret that when he sees Eraqus draw the keyblade he once wielded and left to Brain be turned on Ven (it's a real good thing Brain wasn't here for this because ghost or not things would've gone from bad to worse seeing his grandson pull a stunt like that).
All the subliminal messaging pays off when Terra and Aqua go all out to protect Ven but it's still not enough. Ephemer tries to stop Ven from sacrificing his heart in the meta battle pleading for him to stop but if he couldn't stop Ven at 11 he wasn't going to have much luck with him at 16. When the battle draws to a close all Ephemer can do to stop Ven from fully fading away is to once again guide him to a heart that will keep him safe. He whispers to Sora's heart take him and protect him and over the next 10 years visit his dreams encouraging Sora to be strong and save him which unintentionally feeds into his savior complex (whoops).
Meanwhile Brain successfully locates a much older Lauriam but is unable to stop him from becoming a Nobody (and as a ghost he tries to throw hands with Luxu who he clocks instantly but he's dead so all he can do is yell insults and curses). Brain can only communicate with Marluxia when he's standing in front of a mirror or a reflective surface it's the only time he's visible and can get Marluxia to hear him. He keeps trying to get him to remember who he is, a dandelion, a union leader, a keyblade wielder. He tries to apologize over and over for failing to help him when he needed it. For giving Lauriam hope of finding his sister and then not following through with his promise to help find her.
This obviously does not go well for Marluxia too ashamed to fully face what he has become and what he has done. His heart is in turmoil and anytime Strelitzia is mentioned has him storming away or breaking the surface Brain is reflected in. This all comes to a head in CO, where Brain keeps trying and failing to get Lauriam to wake up and stop his schemes, and even though Ven's heart is currently with Roxas at that time the bond is still there and it's the closest Brain has gotten to getting through to Marluxia. But all it does is bring more anger and despair so instead of waking up he buries himself deeper and succumbs to darkness fighting Sora.
Now Ephemer and Brain truly feel like they've messed up. Ven's heart is damaged and not in his body, Marluxia is gone but Lauriam didn't show up in the afterlife so they didn't get him back, and they still haven't found any sign of Skuld. Standing in the CoW even though Ven is asleep and can't hear or feel them the boys can't help but marvel at how big he is now, they smooth down his hair and readjust his jacket and cup his cheek and even though neither can actually feel anything it just feels so good to see him again. Occasionally they both enter his dreams just to check on him and make sure he's okay but they can't bring themselves to actually talk to him.
They realize Ven is likely the key to bringing their lost friends fully back so they split up once again this time Brain trails Xigbar to see what plans he has while Ephemer tracks down Ven's heart and has the talk from the previous ask with Roxas so when Sora wakes up Ven will be safe.
When Marluxia comes back and meets Sora it's much more intense. Even though Sora doesn't remember he now has Ven's heart and his presence is reaching out trying to connect with Lauriam deep inside. Ephemer is still whispering to Sora to free him, bring him back over his shoulder which just confuses Sora. And when trying to unleash the power of waking Ephemer can directly speak with Sora guiding him through the process to release Ven's healed heart. Both Ven and Eph thank Sora for keeping him safe all these years but Sora won't remember that part.
It all comes to a head in the keyblade graveyard where both Eph and Brain try to use their keyblades to divert deadly attacks just off course enough to miss giving the others but mostly Ven more openings to attack. When Marluxia is defeated for a final time he finally remembers everything and the gold bleeds to blue and he smiles and cries realizing that he didn't completely fail and sincerely thanks Sora for "protecting him" which he doesn't understand.
Then the big attack happens with all the keyblades getting launched and Ephemer appearing proper he lends his strength to Sora and again thanks him for "keeping him safe" which just confuses Sora even more (weirdo cryptic guys never explaining anything to him story of his life).
So in the end they finally managed to save Ven so one day two more to go. They now have to find Lauriam all over again because Streli confirmed he's still not dead and he finally got his heart back so he's all complete and continue their search for Skuld. Unfortunately, 5 very unwanted individuals materialize outta nowhere 4 of which should not look like no time has passed for them at all. So despite being departed souls Ephemer and Brain ready themselves to try and stop old enemies from hurting their friends, they somehow have to find a way to make more direct contact and likely jog some old painful memories.
How the rest of this plays out depends entirely on what holes Missing Link and KH IV fills going forward.

Discourse is Dead FT Yuju

Author’s motes: made a pivot point and I kinda like it way more.
The air was crisp the sun was shining on a new day and Riku was getting ready for the day when the Iron Banner horn could be heard. Riku sighed he wasn’t fond of Iron Banner but was ready to help Yel due to his over-eager promise. So he puts on his titan armor and goes to the tower to register.
As per his usual routine, he gets in early, hoping to be the rush of other combatants. However, unusually a familiar face is there to greet him.
“Lady Efrideet?” Riku says confused. Lady Efrideet smiles at the young awoken and then notices his armor. She approached him
“What’s this Tanuki?”
“Um, my armor?”
“No where are your robes? You are a warlock?”
“Would you believe me when I say the last few weeks have been kinda crazy?”
“It doesn’t explain why you’re pretending to be a titan.”
Riku sighed as he went through the entire story of how the traveler changed his light in the pale heart to stave off the witness from creating the final shape. When he finished lady Efrideet nodded and then asked,
“So why are you still a titan then?”
Riku was unsure how to really process that. Lady Efrideet smiled as she watched him ponder her words. Deciding the simpler approach she said
“Tell you what, if you can beat me right now I'll drop my questions and let you go on with your day. If you can't I want you to go put your “correct” armor back on.” she watched as Riku furrowed his brow until she said the magic words.
“If you win I'll give you food.”Riku’s mind fog cleared and he agreed hastily.
After Riku's crushing loss to Lady Efrideet, he found himself in his Warlock robes again, per her conditions of the duel. As much as he wanted to resent her, he knew deep down she was right—he wasn't "tough enough" to be a true Titan. So he donned his robes and his bond once again.
While walking through the Tower, Ikora caught sight of him and smiled.
"It's good to see one of my proteges back to their roots," she said happily.
"Begrudgingly," Riku replied.
"Don't say that," Ikora chided gently. "The Traveler placed you under my care because you are wise and discerning, able to see through the world's secrets and mysteries. Don't feel less worthy just because you lack the pauldrons and 'power' of a Titan."
"I thought I was called to be a Titan," Riku admitted. "During the fights with the witness and my journey through the pale heart, I was granted a Titan's power and couldn't access my Warlock ones at all. I accessed the Sol Hammer and Twilight's Arsenal. I felt at peace. it felt right."
Ikora shook her head. "Ah, but I watched you as a titan. you lacked the keen sight and strength that you have had. You played it safe and slow. You often would hesitate. A true Titan wouldn't have that hesitation. Look at Saint-14 and Shaxx—they embody the Titan spirit through and through. You aren't a Titan, and that's perfectly fine. The Traveler gave you the Light of a Titan to overcome the Witness, but your Light is naturally attuned to a Warlock. Let your recent experiences refine you, not hold you back." as Ikora spoke Riku knew she was right but didn't have to like it.
After his chat with Ikora, Riku headed to Iron Banner to fulfill Yel's request for help with her first trial weekend. He managed to assemble a team consisting of Soup (Titan), Hyeju (Titan), himself (Warlock), Yel (Warlock), Minjeong (Hunter), and Asimov-1 (Hunter). Hyeju and Yel were surprised to see Riku in his Warlock robes.
“So, no more Titan cosplay?” Soup teased.
Riku rolled his eyes. “It wasn't cosplay, and you know that, Soup.”
Soup let out a light chuckle. “Yeah, still funny though.”
Riku sighed, feeling the weight of his transition. “Yeah, I guess.”
Asimov-1, slightly annoyed, turned to his two friends. “Hey guys, let’s get ready for today.”
Riku put on his Skybreaker's helm, trying to focus on the task ahead. The battle began, and a familiar melody started to play in his mind. He took out the Tarrabah and initiated his hunt.
Like a beast uncaged, Riku tore through the competition. His first elimination came when a Hunter on the opposing team got too cocky and hit him with a shotgun. Out of proper range, the pellets scattered harmlessly, allowing Riku to unload a full magazine of the ravenous beast into the Hunter. His next four eliminations targeted the three weakest members of the enemy team, whom he stalked relentlessly. When his team did see him, all they saw was a blur of bullets and fire. But in his fervor, Riku was far from perfect. He often found himself out of position, leading to four knockouts. Thankfully, his team carried their weight, making up for his mistakes and earning a close win. Riku ended up in the middle of the scoreboard with 18 eliminations and 6 knockouts, while Yel and Asimov topped the board with 24 eliminations and 3 knockouts (Yel) and 22 eliminations and 4 knockouts (Asimov).
Yel was unaccustomed to seeing Riku so feral and aggressive; it frightened her. Here, her mentor was little more than a caged animal. It made her question if he should be her mentor, but she couldn’t deny his skill or wisdom. The following matches were more of the same, with Yel watching as Riku fought with increasing savagery and cunning.
After the first day of Iron Banner, Riku found a quiet corner to nurse his headache with an ice pack. Lady Efrideet approached him with a knowing smile, mirroring how she first met the Awoken Warlock.
“I saw some of your matches,” Lady Efrideet said, smiling. “While I still don’t agree with your methods, you were radiant.”
“No, I wasn’t, and you know it, Lady Efrideet,” Riku responded tersely, pressing the ice pack harder against his temple.
Lady Efrideet grinned, her eyes twinkling with a mix of amusement and affection. “You’re right, you were you, and that is more important. Also, that robe you wore into combat—is that new?”
Riku shrugged, feeling the weight of the day pressing down on him. “Kinda. It was a significantly better roll than I had, so I’m using it more.”
“Oh, okay. What’s it called? It suits you more than the Sunbracers,” Lady Efrideet retorted, her tone teasing yet gentle.
“Well, I told you the Sunbracers was a matter of practicality, not attunement. To answer your question, though, the robes are called 'The Mantle of Battle Harmony.'”
Lady Efrideet nodded before noticing Riku's disdainful expression. “Are you still upset over this morning?” she asked, her tone shifting from playful to concerned.
"Yes. I wasn't expecting consecration not to work. Nor was I expecting everything to just be weird,” Riku admitted, frustration seeping into his voice.
"Spoken like a true Warlock,” Lady Efrideet observed. “Relying on your abilities and combat in an intricate dance. You see if you were truly a Titan..."
“Can you stop, Efrideet? I have a lot on my mind, and I don’t want to think about it all that much. Especially with my headache,” Riku drawled out, his patience wearing thin.
Lady Efrideet smiled before leaving, “Okay then, Tanuki, I will leave you alone.”
A flash of recognition went off in Riku's mind. “Wait, that reminds me. I do have one question. Why is it that everyone else sees me as a bear, and you see me as a Raccoon Dog?”
Lady Efrideet smirked. “Oh, so you finally looked up what a Tanuki is?”
Riku nodded, his curiosity piqued.
“Good. Well, now I have a new homework assignment for you. Look up Tanukis and their significance.”
Riku groaned. “Oh come on, I hate homework. Just tell me. Who knows when the next time I’ll see you.”
“Nope. You are my student, and I would be a bad teacher if I gave you the answer,” Lady Efrideet said firmly.
Riku's resentment and frustration got the better of him. He thought he left games and riddles behind with the death of the Witness, so he snapped at Efrideet, “Efrideet, please don’t do this. Just tell me, please. It’s been a long day, and I want to rest.”
"You don’t understand. You don’t get to have the easy route because then you won’t care. Everything I have taught you has stuck more than it has with Ikora because I gave you the skeleton, not an answer. You are as strong as you are right now because your knowledge and wisdom were earned, not granted. You are wizened, and for those who you will teach, you will need to continue to learn and master,” Lady Efrideet explained, her tone now serious and commanding.
Riku sighed, realizing the truth in her words. “Fine. I’ll look it up. But you better have some good explanations ready for me when I see you next.”
Lady Efrideet chuckled, her demeanor softening. “Deal. And remember, Riku, you are more than your doubts and frustrations. Embrace who you are, fully.” Riku groaned as he got up. Lady Efrideet laughed and said, “Bye hun stay safe,” Riku groaned.
Hours later, Riku arrived at Miso’s shop. He waited for two and a half hours, then another hour. After three and a half hours, Miso approached him. Riku maintained a blank expression, but his fists were clenched tightly.
“Hey Riku, are you okay? Where’s Yel?” Miso asked. Riku ran his tongue over his teeth, paid the bill, and left without a word. When he got back home, he covered his face and silently sobbed. Sashimi watched dejectedly as her Guardian continued to hurt.
The next day, Asimov-1 asked Miso-1 if he could fill in for Riku. Miso-1 agreed, confused as to why Riku didn’t show. He was thankful not to be the only new face. Hyeju had asked her other Titan friend, Hayoung, to help, and she showed up ready to play. When he got there, he realized why. Yel.
Miso-1 approached Yel, who gave him a bright smile. “Hey Yel, where were you yesterday? Riku waited for you for three and a half hours.”
“Well, he’s been weird the last few days,” Yel said. Joshua (Soup) and Asimov looked at her, confused. Yel noticed their expressions.
“What? You saw him yesterday; he was deranged,” Yel defended herself. Miso-1 looked at her, puzzled.
“One of his epithets is ‘the ravenous beast who hunted gods,’” he responded, but before anything else could be said, Iron Banner started.
While this was going on, Riku arrived at the Tower’s library and decided to look up all the terms and ideas Lady Efrideet had exposed him to.
“Hey Sashimi, where would books about Tanukis be located?”
Sashimi scoured her records and then came up with an answer. “Information about Tanuki can be found in quadrant four of the library.” Riku sighed before beginning his ten-minute trek to section four. It took him another seventeen minutes to find the books about Tanukis, but most weren’t in English, so he asked Sashimi where books that could translate the symbols would be.
“Section two,” she said. Riku sighed again as he began another ten-minute trek. When he arrived, it took him another thirteen minutes to find translation books.
After that, he spent the next hour studying. What he gathered was that Tanuki were animals that looked like raccoons but were not related to raccoons at all and were popular in Japanese folklore. Riku sighed when he realized that Lady Efrideet would ask him more, so he got back up and went to section two where books about Danuki should be. When Riku returned to his seat twenty-three minutes later, he threw his head back and groaned, seeing his books had been moved. So he went through the entire process again.
Thirty-five minutes later, he was back to studying. He learned that Danuki were trickster spirits driven by an insatiable desire for freedom. They were highly social creatures who enjoyed spending time with others, could shapeshift, change the form of other things, and were masters of disguise and humor. Their most defining personality trait was their willingness to do anything to win any wager. No stakes were too small, and every bet was life or death. They hated losing but would do so graciously, reveling in victory and fun but could be vicious and cutthroat.
Another thing that stood out was the almost constant comparison to fox spirits in the same folklore. As Riku studied, his brow furrowed. While he understood the info, it made little sense, or maybe that was all the walking back and forth. He decided to leave after that, not wanting to do any more walking. He wiped his face with his hands before leaving the library. On his way home, he decided to stop by Miso-1’s shop for food. It was usually dead around this time. He walked in to see Eunha and Yel along with many of his other friends. They all looked at him when he opened the door. Riku slowly closed the door, and before they could follow him, went to his ship and flew into orbit before heading to do several Dares of Eternity.
Over the next few weeks, Riku made it his mission to not speak to anyone. He didn’t pick up calls, answer fireteam invites—the whole shebang. He didn’t even speak to his Ghost, but Sashimi could see he was suffering.
The only reason this stopped was because Lady Efrideet found out. She knew his routine better than anyone else, so on his way to finally perfecting the craftable Outbreak, Lady Efrideet cornered him along with her other student, Yuju.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Lady Efrideet asked.
“Oh, hi, Efrideet. Hi, Yuju.”
Yuju looked at Riku, confused. “Wait, how do you know my name?” she asked, her eyes narrowing in worry.
“Um, you are Eunha's friend. We met during the Vow of the Disciple raid.” Yuju's head reared back as she remembered. The human Titan stared at the Awoken, surprised.
“You have a good memory,” she complimented. Riku bashfully shrugged, making Yuju giggle. Lady Efrideet smiled as her plan moved along.
“Hey, so Yuju needs help getting Stoicism. Can you help her?” Lady Efrideet asked. Riku scowled, his gaze turning to Yuju, and then he slowly started nodding.
“Great,” she said, pushing Yuju closer to Riku. Before she could leave, Riku asked her about Tanukis.
“I thought I told you to…” Before she could finish, Riku interjected.
“Tanuki is a raccoon/dog-like animal from Golden Age Japan, where numerous folklore legends are based. They are typically harmless animals to humans and, once domesticated, make fantastic pets. They are foragers behaviorally and typically live to a median age of ten years, accounting for differences in lifestyle. They are smaller than the general raccoon dog found in other portions of Asia. The Danuki is the folklore spirit equivalent of the Tanuki in Japanese folklore, known for its mischievous and jovial nature. They possess several powers, with the key one being shapeshifting. They are also typically harmless to humans and love to play games with them to satiate their fathomless appetite for novelty and challenge. The most famous of the Danuki is named Danzaborou and has several stories of his exploits throughout Japan,” Riku droned, unbroken. Lady Efrideet was impressed.
"I guess you did your homework, and then some," Lady Efrideet replied. Yuju began laughing profusely at Riku's recital while Lady Efrideet tried to piece together what to say next.
"Yes, now why did you compare me to that?" Riku asked, confused.
Lady Efrideet looked at the Warlock and saw the pain in his eyes. Something was troubling him. So she threw him a bone this time.
"When I found you as a fledgling guardian, you reveled in your power. Which was fine, I believe all Warlocks do, even the more spiritual ones. But I could see the wear that being a Warlock brings. That playful joy was replaced by an annoyed sense of duty. You gave up on understanding who you are and became what others needed, as evidenced by your almost crutch-like use of Well of Radiance and The Divinity. I think the Traveler gave you the power of the Titan to reset you and let you be who you are at heart," Lady Efrideet explained.
Riku looked at her, confused, asking, "And what is that?"
"A trickster god with an insatiable appetite for victory," Lady Efrideet said.
Riku shrugged as he nodded in understanding before giving a thumbs up and turning to Yuju. For the first time, his spirits were slightly higher than before.
“Come on, Coyote, we’ve got work to do.” Yuju turned to Lady Efrideet with a surprised smirk, who nodded. She turned back to Riku, who was heading to his ship.
“How did you know Lady Efrideet called me that?” Yuju asked.
“Because she does things symmetrically. If I’m a trickster spirit, that makes you one too,” Riku replied, not missing a beat. Both Lady Efrideet and Yuju made a mental note to never underestimate Riku and his perception. After Lady Efrideet left, Yuju followed Riku. Curious about the Titan, Riku started asking her about herself.
“So, what’s your story, Yuju?” Yuju was a little taken aback and nervous.
“Why do you want to know?” she snapped. Riku stopped, turned around, and tilted his head to scowl at her.
“I’m sorry, I’m just nervous. I’m not used to being around others. I usually fly solo, and I’ve known the group I usually fight with since I was brought back.”
Riku nodded as he listened intently to Yuju. As she watched him, her shoulders and arms relaxed the tension they carried. “Oh, interesting. You don’t see too many mass rebirths. When were you brought back?”
Yuju’s eyes looked up as she remembered. “Right after ‘we’ dealt with the House of Wolves,” she said.
Riku nodded and responded, “Oh, okay. Neat. I was raised right before the Red War, but didn’t make a name for myself until we discovered Stasis.” Yuju smiled as she listened to the Warlock speak. She felt an odd sense of connection to him as a fellow student of Lady Efrideet.
"Oh, wait, that means you saw Lord Saladin rebuild the Iron Lords," Yuju replied.
"Kinda. I was just starting when the young wolf had already garnered an insane reputation. I was just a no-name new light," Riku said.
"Well, you are certainly not that anymore. Eunha has told me all about the Chimera with the bottomless appetite for adventure and conquest," Yuju responded.
"Oh, you know Eunha," Riku said, displaying interest but guarding himself intensely.
"Yeah, we used to raid a lot together, but we have kinda fallen out of raiding. Now Eunha mostly works with Umji and SinB, as you already know," Yuju explained.
Riku nodded back. As they talked, they found themselves moving closer to each other. Yuju crossed her arms and tilted her head with intrigue. She stared into the Warlock’s eyes and found warmth and compassion, but also an intense burning rage. She knew Warlocks came in three typical flavors: deep scholars who studied the arcane and the rest of the world, high priests who took their spiritual journey too seriously, or the emotional maelstroms who were guided by their hearts and passions. At first, she thought he was a scholar, but Yuju was starting to realize there was more to this magic man than met the eye.
As they got to their ships, Yuju decided to be straightforward and charge right to her most pressing question.
“Hey Riku, a few weeks ago, I heard from a friend who helped Yel in Iron Banner, and when someone mentioned you, Yel freaked out. Why?” Yuju asked.
Yuju watched as Riku winced. It saddened her. He seemed so kind, and the question seemed to physically hurt him, but she stood firm, confident in her choice.
“I can’t confirm this because we haven’t talked in many weeks, but I’m almost positive it’s how she saw me fight in Iron Banner,” he answered.
Yuju furrowed her brow as she processed what Riku said. “Wait?”
Riku nodded, his face making an exaggerated expression. “Yep. She had never seen me fight. She only watched me teach.”
Yuju reeled back, confused. “Wait, huh? Why would she have an issue with that?”
Riku shrugged. “Human perception is weird.”
Yuju looked at him, intrigued, before she asked, “Well, now I’ve got to ask, how do you fight?”
Riku squinted at Yuju. He understood her question but was confused about how to respond.
“My favorite exotics are Tarrabah, the Heart of Inmost Light, and the Mantle of Battle Harmony. What does that tell you about my fighting style?” he said.
“Aggressive solar ability spam,” Yuju answered flatly. Riku laughed with her and nodded. She smiled and chuckled as the duo got to their ships.
They flew to the Pale Heart to do the mission. As they pushed through, Riku got to see Yuju in action. She was smooth. While not as balls-to-the-wall as him, her skill with making shots and keeping her profile low made her an excellent Guardian. Had he not known any better, he would have mistaken her for a Hunter with her impressive level of marksmanship.
When the pair reached the final battle of the mission, Yuju watched as Riku gave himself fully to the battle harmony. She watched with an amused smirk as he sang a song called "God of Fire" while he fought. Despite him screaming the lyrics like a madman, she found herself endeared to him more. As she saw through the veneer of scary words and terrifying symbolism to see him having fun with her, it made her feel good to have an ally to fight with for a change. After the mission, both guardians chose peace and grabbed their earned loot. Yuju smiled
"I got exactly what I wanted Hoil, Arm. What roll did you get?" She asked giddy
Riku responded with a sigh before answering with a feigned dejected tone, "I only got the best roll for me with HOIL, and Mantle." as he spoke he raised his intonation and enthusiasm Yuju smirked and said,
"I think this will be the beginning of a very fun friendship,"
Riku feeling bold responded, "Hell yeah, but please don't blame me if fall for you though you're very pretty,"
Yuju paused then she laughed. Riku stood worried before Yuju said,
"God I love a man who knows what he wants and goes for it."

Not really one to articulate what I’m thinking the best but I did want to discuss this at base level at the very least because it’s a feeling I’m quite familiar with. I didn’t think as much into it when I was a kid myself. Probably because I felt it was only natural to want the things Sora and Riku did. I wasn’t happy, after all.
Sora and Riku going to the play island to “get away” from their home as far as they can go is REALLY sad...and Riku saying the adults won’t let them go alone until their older hints to me more than just “wishing for independence”. It makes me wonder just WHY they want to be independent at such a young age- not to say it’s uncommon for kids to think this way in general but bare with me and remember what I said at the start.
Like not to say this to me is a red flag that something happened to Sora and Riku that made Riku want to get Sora and him out of there and is part of why Sora is interested in leaving as well but...yeah, it’s exactly that. Why is it that Sora and Riku want to leave their hometown (world, whatever) this badly? Because we know why Kairi wants to stay, why Kairi feels the way she does. Trauma, grief, a need for connection, something to hold onto, something to go back to when things get too scary or hard to deal with. Makes perfect sense!
But what started to seed the desire to leave for the other two of the Destiny Island kids and what made it their very goal at the start of KH1 and what makes them keep choosing to leave it despite any of the nostalgia surrounding it and an idealized wish for simpler and peaceful times?
We see Riku in flashbacks telling Sora that one day they’ll get away from all this and go on real adventures and stop being treated like kids which...strangely now sounds more reassuring rather than some “macho” talk from a little kid. It really sounds like he’s reassuring Sora he’ll get them out of there and then you realize...this is right after the meteor shower promise where he vowed to protect Sora, externally. What do I mean by “externally”?
The thing is we already see Riku in BBS knowing he wants to protect Sora and that he knows he can’t do it best by them both staying there so...what caused things to sprout this way? Why would Riku be so dead set on protecting Sora if there wasn’t something that could actually hurt him? It’s not just loving someone that makes you think stuff like that at such an age, it’s seeing the people you love being hurt. And how else would it make you feel as a child to be utterly incapable of doing a thing about it? Seems like your self-esteem would take a hit, over and over again. Same if you were being hurt or were hurt and couldn’t protect yourself or had to rely on someone else to do it for you. You’d probably try to overcompensate for what you think you’re missing.
Why would Kingdom Hearts spend time establishing healthy (albeit not perfect but practical) connections between these two and adult characters in their life that they only met once they leave the island? Why is Riku’s main adult support Mickey and Minnie rather...rather than his parents? Why is Sora’s main adult support Donald and Goofy rather than his parents? Why do Sora and Riku learn so much more from the adults they meet on their journeys than the ones at “home”. Terra and Aqua gave them hope that they could leave one day and a reached out hand to help make it happen. You can go on about how you think Kingdom Hearts is bad at writing relationships or whatever but it certainly has intention, even if the intention evolves as a series is going- such is the very nature of writing. Things evolve before your very eyes and older things seem different under new lenses.
And be it trauma, abuse, and/or neglect...even if by the end of the series, this isn’t brushed upon as obviously as I put it in favor of focusing on the traumas we’ve gotten to seen happen, I still believe it remains an important part of the overarching narrative and adds another layer to why Sora and Riku wanted to leave in the first place. And it’s part of why I don’t think they’ll live on the Destiny Islands in the end. They own phones now, after all. They can call their parents any time, if they wanted. But I hope they don’t.

Kaishin Reveal and What It Means For You
Okay I need everyone to keep their shit together because I think this is being blown out of proportion. What follows is a quick rant about what the hell is going in the DCMK fandom and what is going on in fandom in general cause I don’t know why I’m seeing so many people lose their shit over something that was most likely going to happen followed by a quick lesson by a ‘fandom elder’ on how to ignore canon and make a ship your own.
Spoilers ahead and whatnot.
April 11th the DCMK 27 movie came out and information was revealed about how Kaito Kuroba and Shinichi Kudou are now cousins. Twitter lost its mind, Tumblr lost its mind, Discord servers are being created and now everyone is wondering what the hell should they do.
I’m going to be honest, if you are a creator for KaiShin, please don’t delete your work.
Either archive it or orphan it but please don’t delete it.
You put time and effort into this, into something you love, and just because the mangaka is so SO set in his ways of every single ship being friends to lovers does not mean you have to follow the same format. This doesn’t make you an incest shipper or whatever, it doesn’t make you a person who you don’t want to be, it’s just something that you had no idea of knowing was going to happen and I hope that you can look back at it fondly.
Anyways, for those enjoying Kaishin on the sidelines all I’m going to say is Pick a Lane.
Ignore Canon
If you are an old time shipper then this may not be new for you. I mean Gosho literally had another ship that turned out to be cousins like at this point it’s ‘who is my cousin’ being played in the entire Detective Conan manga. You either already guessed it, are an active incest shipper (hi, hello, tis a me) or you are used to your favourites dying. This situation is no fucking different.
Wolfwood is dead, in my head he is alive and well and treating his Plant husband right.
Sora is missing, not in my head where he is kissing Roxas and Riku and Kairi and whoever else wants to get at the sunshine of the KH universe.
Ben is dead, NOT IN MY REYLO FANFICTION.
If you are a person who actively kept up with the manga or actively kept up with the show it is possible to ignore canon because they do not suddenly go super deep into being cousins and knowing about each other. They both don’t know if they are cousins or else the jig would be up immediately and the manga would be finished. You CAN ignore canon and if Kaishin is a ship that brings you joy and just serotonin production I implore you guys to choose this lane if you still want to enjoy Kaishin.
It’s by far the healthiest option and teaches you how to curate your own fandom experience.
Alternate Universes and You
I was in the Hannibal fandom for a while and I clearly remember the ‘Hannibal is not a Cannibal’ tag on AO3. I thought it was hilarious but I would never dare to make fun of it because that is a prime example of CURATING YOUR FANDOM EXPERIENCE.
Here are some examples on how you can start tagging:
Not Cousins AU
Kaito and Shinichi aren’t family
No Family Relation AU
Pre Kaishin reveal
Or just make a quick blurb of how you mean this drawing/fic to be perceived. Again, this is your experience and you get to make the space you want to make. It’s up to you to make/interact with the content that makes you most comfortable. Again, if you want to delve into AU’s then that is up to you and I think it’s a pretty good lane for those who just feel weird about the whole reveal.
Stepping Away
Your moral values are your own, people, and I am in no position or even want to judge them. If you feel uncomfortable about this now, see your love for Kaishin diminishing because of the reveal or just don’t see yourself shipping Kaishin in the future then you are more than capable of measuring your response and stepping away from the ship entirely for your own health.
Is it going to be sad? Yes, but they are fictional and I recommend having an idea of what you have in your life outside of fandom that makes you happy that you can focus on as you go through this. College, work, whatever hobbies you may have taken up–hell put all your eggs into another ship that you know also brings you joy!
Do not let this dictate your day or your month or your year. This is just fandom, you don’t have to make a big statement unless asked about it, you do not have to justify your decision to anybody, curate.your.fandom.experience.
I’m going to end this with a repeat of what I just said.
This is all fictional. We are playing in a fictional sandbox where we can all make whatever we want in any capacity and as long as it is tagged correctly then nobody’s lines have to be crossed. If you just started enjoying Kaishin, find out how you still want to enjoy it or step away. If you have shipped Kaishin for a while, do the same fucking thing! The east side of the fandom is having a field day with the movie, why can’t the west have some fun too?!
I’m going to ship Kaishin (however all my reblogs will be moved to my other blog for incest-y stuff and just other content people may not vibe with in general) and hell I might just join the Kaishin Big Bang for the hell of it because I have been shipping this ship since I was 15 years old and I’m about to be 30 so….I’m staying fucking seated cause you aren’t getting me out of this chair, Aoyama, you aren’t getting me to ship Aoko with anyone other an Akako so suck on that.
Be safe, be smart and curate y’all.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
the first interrogation of this season WOOOOOO
Tumblr media
Q.01. "What is your favorite memory of your accomplice?"
Akio: Going to a bookstore together. We were interested in completely different sections though.
Aimi: Drawing our dogs together.
Q.02. "How long do you want your life to be?"
Akio: I don't think my life will be that long anyway considering my injury.
Aimi: Hmm, I'm not good at answering such deep questions~
Q.03. "Tell us something about your childhood."
Akio: I don't remember it that well. Mom said I used to cry often when I was a kid.
Aimi: I always received a lot of birthday gifts. I still do, but for some reason it's not as exciting anymore ^^''
Q.04. "Who do you talk to these days?"
Akio: Riku and Guard 001's older brother, surprisingly. Asahi is not as bad as I thought he was.
Aimi: You, Miki-chan!
Q.05. "What kind of person would your perfect friend be?"
Akio: Someone who would make me feel special.
Aimi: Someone who won't leave me, but also will respect my privacy. I don't want a friend who's too obsessed with me, haha~
Q.06. "Why do you think your accomplice participated in the crime?"
Akio: At first I thought he did it because he was just that loyal to me, but I'm not so sure anymore. Maybe he did it because he was already thinking of killing Chise and me hating him was the push he needed.
Aimi: Because he really wanted to protect me, I guess.
Q.07. "Would you rather die alone or with someone else?"
Akio: Dying alone sounds pathetic.
Aimi: I'm okay with being executed as long as there will be someone else with me.
Q.08. "Draw your victim."
Akio:
Tumblr media
Aimi:
Tumblr media
Q.09. "Would you want to keep in touch with other prisoners after you leave Milgram, if you're able to do so?"
Akio: Maybe with Riku. Aimi too, if she wants.
Aimi: Can I keep in touch with you instead, Miki-chan?
Q.10. "Is it unforgivable to look down on people?"
Akio: I thought it was a normal thing to do.
Aimi: Maybe it's okay to do if those people are really bad?
Q.11. "What was your first thought after you were done with your murder?"
Akio: "This must be a mistake".
Aimi: "I'm finally free".
Q.12. "Are you happy about your Trial 2 verdict?"
Akio: I'm just glad that I'm still alive.
Aimi: Of course!
Q.13. "What would you want to say to your accomplice if you could see them again?"
Akio: I'd just ask him why he did what he did.
Aimi: My accomplice is dead, Miki-chan, and for a reason. Next question, please!
Q.14. "Any thoughts about your future?"
Akio: What's the point in making any plans if it's possible I'm going to die soon anyway?
Aimi: I don't know! I don't think about it that much.
Q.15. "What verdict do you think you'll get this time?"
Akio: Let me live. Please.
Aimi: You will forgive me. Like a good friend.

☠︎︎Fem! Dark era! Dazai x reader ☠︎︎
Tumblr media
Warning: Swearing, mention of sexual dance, insults, murder, crimes, sexual harassment, mention of drugs and alcohol, mention of suicide and self harm scars.
A little note:I had a dream about this lol
Pairing:Dark era Fem!Dazai x reader
Short description:You are an informator and Dazai came to ask for your help
Words:2K
There will be a part 2!
─────────────────────────
Dazai is now eating at the table with Mori who called her. She is eating a steak with her fork in her hand and a knife in the other hand. Her guts are telling her he wants something from her. She just keeps eating waiting for him to say something.
"Dazai,we both know that I did not bring you here for nothing." Mori says while eating as well.
She just nods. She fixes her skirt making sure she looks good. She is in front of her boss after all.
"I have a mission for you. Pay attention." He says making eye contact with his mafia executive.
Mori looks dead serious about this making Dazai wonder how he trusted her with something like this."There's this man who owns me a lot of money. That bastard had gone missing recently as his date to repay me got closer. I need you to find him and bring me back my own money and his head." He adds literally stabbing his steak.
"Did I ever let you down, boss?" She says confident. She does need some confidence for this type of missions. After all he put all his trust into her.
"You never and you can't. We both know there's punishment waiting for you if you fail a mission." He says in a cold tone. "We don't want you to end up like my last executive."
Mori is sure a strict boss who always follow the rules making sure everyone respects them and him,the leader.
Dazai,on the other hand, knows rules are important in the mafia, but she thinks there's need for chaos sometimes.
"You're an interesting one so I am not in doubt that you will be able to do it." Mori says as he pours some wine in his glass.
"Now listen up. The guy's name is Hiragi Riku. He owns me around 10 million yen. Something I know about this guy is that he used to lead a club.
I can give you an address if this helps." The boss says finishing his food.
"Yeah. That would be perfect." She says finishing her food as well. She gets up getting ready to leave.
─────────────────────────
The girl just left to the club with the address Mori gave her. Of course she dragges Chuuya with her to annoy him.
"Remind me again why did I have to come too? Isn't this your mission?" Chuuya says getting off his motorcycle.
Dazai gets off the motorcycle as well as she smirks. "One, You're my personal driver and two, you're the person I love to annoy the most" She says playfully.
"What the actual fuck, asshole?!" Chuuya says getting already angry.
"See what I'm talking about? It's fun to see you get angry so easily" She chuckles.
They both enter the club.
Dazai tells Chuuya to talk to the barman and call her if he finds anything interesting. Meanwhile, Dazai is going to talk to a dancer.
What Mori didn't mention is that this is not a normal club.
"Excuse me,miss." Dazai says respectfully.
"Oh? Are you here to play, girl? Didn't know we have clients into this" The dancer says getting closer to Dazai.
"Come in the back, but you gotta pay me first" She adds smirking.
The brunette girl takes a step back.
"No,no! You got me all wrong! I want to talk to you." She says a bit uncomfortable talking to her.
"Talk? Listen here, I'm not payed to be a therapist. I'm payed to dance for horny ass old bastards." She says not paying attention to the young lady in front of her anymore.
Dazai is one of the people who doesn't give up easily so she speaks again hoping she will find some information."Hiragi Riku. What was he like?"
The dancer looks at him confused and scared.
The look in her eyes already makes Dazai question about this man's identity."I don't know what you're talking about. I don't know anyone with this name.Leave me alone or I will call the security."
The brunette haired girl tries to speak again to ask 'Why?' but the dancer leaves. 'I guess that's a sign I should go talk to Chuuya' She thinks.
"Any luck?"
Chuuya looks at his partner with a confident look. "Yeah. The barman says he didn't get to know this guy since he is quite new, but he heard rumors about him covering his wife's murder."
The girl sure knew something is not right here. Of course, Mori knew this guy because of his money or crimes or maybe even both. As a mafia leader of course that's the only way he can have a connection with someone.
She already thought that this guy is trouble, but how does that help with the reason he went missing? Is there really any connection? "Anything else?" She finally speaks again after a few seconds of analyzing everything.
"No. I couldn't get much out of him since he's knew. How about you?" Chuuya says.
"I couldn't find anything. The other employees look terrified of this guy." She says still thinking. There's not enough information for sure. They need more, they need a lead.
What if they ask a regular customer?
Who is that wife? Any family to ask about her relationship with him? Any children to ask? She has a few ideas.
So she grabs Chuuya and goes to an old man standing and looking with a smirk at one of the dancers.
"Hello, mister. Are you a regular here?" Dazai asks.
The man in front of them looks
miserable. He is clearly drunk or high.
"Well hello, young lady. You look really mature for your age. I like this type of girls." The man says as he starts drinking. "I've been going for quite a while here. I wouldn't consider myself a regular though"
"We have a few questions about the other boss. Did you happen to know him or anything related to him?" She asks trying to ignore the gross remarks.
Dazai is only talking to this guy for information so she better keep her mouth shut until she gets what she wants.
"Yes, I do know him. I had the pleasure to talk to him a few times." The old man says.
"Great. Do you know anything about his wife?" The ginger haired boy asks ready to slap the stranger. He knows they need information for the sake of their criminal organisation so he is trying to keep his calm, like Dazai.
"She was murdered recently. Just before her husband when missing" The old man says.
"Thank you. Do you know anything else about her?" Dazai asks as she smiles trying to make him tell everything he knows.
The man smirks as he sees her being patient and polite with him. He hopes he will be able to touch the girl in front of him if he playes it well.
"She was from Europe, Transylvania and she moved here. Her family are still living here and couldn't afford to take a trip to their own daughter's funeral. Isn't it sad?" The man says as his gaze is fixed on Dazai's body.
"Is this all?" Chuuya says trying to make him look at him.
"Yes. Now, does the young lady love her mouth full?" The old man says rubbing his area.
"The young lady loves a man who brings a fresh one to her, not an expired bag of meat." Says as her heel makes contact with his cheek leaving that man a huge black eye.
She leaves the building disgusted.
"I'm glad you hit him cuz I would have broken his ribs if you didn't hit him yourself." The ginger haired man says red of anger.
─────────────────────────
Dazai wakes up after she had a lot of dreams about the perfect suicide. "What a great night!" She says for herself.
She gets up as she tries to find a pair of trousers. She sighs as she realizes she needs to wear a skirt today.
Skirts aren't really comfortable for her. She has a few self-harm scars on her legs,as well as her whole body. She grabs some bandages to cover up as much as possible.
After she is done with wrapping the bandages around her thighs and ankles she leaves her room.
Odasaku walks by in a hurry.
"Good morning!!!~~~" Dazai says excited.
"Good morning." Oda says and stops.
"What's with all this hurry? Did something happen?" She says getting closer to him now that he stopped.
"There isn't really anything that bad. Just promised some children I'll see them today." He says going outside with Dazai following him.
"Is it alright if I go with you? "She asks looking at him with the sweetest eyes she can make.
Odasaku sighs and just nods. He grabs his cigarette pack and light one. He offers Dazai one as well. The brunette looks a bit surprised as this didn't happen before.
'It's only one time.' She thinks as she grabs his lighter and cigarette.
"So how come you're free now?" Odasaku says knowing Dazai should train Akutagawa now.
"Mori-san gave me an important misson that requires a little time even for me. He loves to give me challenges." She lights her cigarette.
"He sure does, but he trusts your abilities. You'll be an amazing detective, you know?" He says with a straight face. On the inside Oda is the proudest friend right now. He is lucky to have Dazai near him. Even though he is older he looks up to Dazai.
"Not if I commit suicide first" Dazai jokes around like always.
"What mission did he gave you?" Oda asks curious. 'What could be such an important matter that Dazai had to interrupt Akutagawa's training?'
"Well, there's this man... He went missing with a lot of Mori's money and of course he wants them back" She says as she starts thinking about yesterday.
She is nowhere near close yet because of the lack of information.
He notices something is wrong with the girl near him.
"Ah. I see. Money. I am not even surprised." He says knowing well how a mafia is. "What's with that long face? Does something bother you?" He asks stopping and putting a hand on her shoulder.
They both just finished their cigarettes.
"Yeah. There actually is something. It's about the missing man. I can't seem to get information about him. At all." She says feeling down. Maybe she isn't the best to be a 'detective' like Oda said.
Did she suddenly lose all her talent? She can't help but overthink a little.
"Hm..." Odasaku mumbles thinking about something. "There's someone you should meet up with. They can help you for sure."
"Who??" Dazai says as her eyes are getting filed with hope.
"Y/n l/n. They are an informator. They know everything about everyone. They once helped me too,but..." He says knowing there's a catch.
"But?" She says hoping the but won't stay in her way.
"But it's really hard to find them. There's no phone number or anything like this. Only the name. Knowing so much it can be dangerous for them to be exposed to other people." He says hoping that he at least helped her a little.
"I think I can make them meet up with me." Dazai says already getting an idea.

Things heard in the land of departure pt.2:
1
Roxas: Oh sorry, I can’t take part today. Why? Well because according to Master Terra, aiming Thundaga at Riku with extreme prejudice is “bullying” and I “have to stop”.
Sora: Remember that time that my mom took us to- OH MY GODS MY MOM!!!!
Kairi: Behind all this pink awaits a vile temperament that I fully intend to beat your ass with.
Lea: I really wish people would stop assuming that I protect Kairi. That girls packing federal charges on three separate worlds. I protect everyone else FROM Kairi.
Roxas: Ven and I are not the same. For starters, I do not think footie pyjamas are “neat”.
Ven: *running past Sora* If Riku asks it was Roxas, he’ll believe that!
Riku: How’s my day going? Horribly, that’s how!
Sora: “sleep is for the weak!” No, sleep is for the desperate, which I am! Goodnight! *pulls blanket over his head*
Riku: It baffles me that Terra trusts me to hit people with a deadly weapon, and yet he still doesn’t trust that I won’t approach the liquor cabinet with the same level of maturity. *Explosion sounds behind him. Xion and Sora screech.* Never mind, I’m starting to get it now…
Sora: sometimes when you travel with Donald and Goofy you just gotta smile first, then have the brake down later.
Roxas: are you okay?
Sora: *voice brakes* I’m great!
Aqua: okay kids, we are going to play a game. It’s called “give master Aqua some peace for five minutes” now fuck off.
Ven: *dragging Lea into the infirmary* would you believe me if I told you he looked this fucked up when I found him?
Terra: Ah, a nice easy day. No training, no emergencies. Just me my book and… *sighs* the deadly wall of unlit fireworks that are sitting directly near my chair. *snaps book closed*
Ven: *sadly* I do not have the mouska-tools for this situation.
Isa: Another day, another chance to get wailed on by five year olds. I’m so glad I agreed to do this!
Terra: I do not have a favourite student *behind him Sora, Roxas and Xion are struggling in the grips of a hydra, while Ven and Riku sit off to the side munching on ice cream.*
Kairi: make direct I contact with me one more time, I dare you!
Aqua: maybe if I lay here like I’m dead they’ll leave me alone.
Ven: Hi Aqua.
Aqua: fuck
Terra: if you’re looking for Riku, he’s gone to throw himself off the clock tower.
Xion: can someone pass me an ice pack? I think I’ve bruised my own ego.
Aqua: *spray Kairi in the face with a plant mister* bad student! No murder on the furniture!

@nbuckhalter your prompt first stemmed something steamy, but then this idea hit, and it wouldn't leave me alone, so you get family fluff instead!
SessKag: “What on earth is that supposed to be?”
A soft shuffling woke her from a dead sleep, and Kagome rolled over, quickly checking the monitor. Blinking away the bleariness, she frowned at the screen. An arm wrapped around her waist, stopping her from jumping out of bed. She nudged it out of the way, but Sesshoumaru held fast. “You are meant to be resting,” he chastised.
She shook her head, then turned the monitor, pointing at the middle of the screen. “What on earth is that supposed to be?” she asked.
He hissed slightly at the bright light, pupils constricting in the darkness. “The twins’ room, mate. We set up new beds earlier—”
“Not that,” she whispered, pointing to the right bed. “That!”
He sighed, then sat up, taking the monitor from her. “I do not see an abnormality.”
Kagome gave him a droll look. “You don’t see the large blob in only one bed?” She pushed his arm out of the way, then padded down to the nursery, careful not to make as much noise as possible. The light wasn’t on, so she knew they were asleep, and she poked her head into the room, heart clenching at the sight.
Riku had climbed into Sora’s bed.
The twin boys had been inseparable since birth but had outgrown their crib, so the whole family went shopping over the weekend to get them separate beds.
Clearly, that had been a mistake.
“I will ask Inuyasha to reconstruct their beds,” Sesshoumaru said from behind her, leaning against the doorframe.
“Are you sure?”
“They are holding hands, mate. They are not ready for their own sleeping space yet.” She hummed in agreement as she covered the hand on her hip, intertwining their fingers as he led her back to their room.
“I just don’t want them to start fighting,” she admitted.
There was a soft snort as he closed the door behind them. “The only fight will stem from their sister having a smaller bed than them when construction is finished.” He tucked her against his side, cocooning her into the warmth of his body.
“You get to deal with it, then,” she said, knowing Mizuki would somehow convince her favourite uncle to build her an entirely new bed as well. She had her father’s cunning streak and her mother’s knack for politics, all combining into a pair of pleading green eyes that even Inuyasha couldn’t resist.
“I will warn Inuyasha to bring extra lumber,” Sesshoumaru murmured, reading her thoughts. Kagome twisted, checking the monitor one more time, a smile tilting her lips as she realized Sora was using Riku’s leg as a pillow.
“Silly boys.”
Thanks for the prompt!
Part of my dialogue/drabble ask Voicemail. Asks are still open!
