The Art of Finding Perfect Baby Girl Names
Selecting baby girl names is one of the first major decisions parents make for their child. It’s an exciting task, but also one filled with responsibility. A name will shape how the world sees your daughter and even how she perceives herself in the future. Therefore, finding a name that feels meaningful, beautiful, and fitting becomes a heartfelt journey.
Tumblr media
Why Baby Girl Names Matter
Names are a child’s first gift, a reflection of family values, culture, and even aspirations. When choosing baby girl names, parents often think about the name’s meaning, pronunciation, uniqueness, and how well it fits into the modern world.
Studies show that people often form impressions within seconds based on a name. This psychological fact highlights the importance of selecting a name that feels strong, kind, and positive.
Trending Styles in Baby Girl Names
Every year brings a fresh wave of trending baby names, and 2025 is no different. Parents today prefer names that are short, sweet, and carry a blend of modern and traditional vibes. Here are some notable styles:
Soft vowel sounds: Names like Ava, Isla, and Olivia.
Gender-neutral inspirations: Names like Riley, Quinn, and Avery.
Vintage chic: Old-fashioned names like Edith, Florence, and Harriet are making a stylish comeback.
Keeping an eye on trends can be helpful, but the best baby girl names are the ones that hold personal significance too.
Rare and Unique Baby Girl Names
Parents seeking something truly special often explore rare baby girl names. These names are uncommon but carry a depth that more popular names sometimes lack. Examples include:
Amara (meaning "grace" or "immortal")
Celeste (meaning "heavenly")
Elowen (meaning "elm tree")
Opting for rare names can give your daughter a distinctive identity while still keeping the name elegant and meaningful.
Tips for Choosing Meaningful Baby Girl Names
Choosing baby girl names that are meaningful ensures that your child carries a story wherever she goes. Here are a few tips to guide you:
Reflect family history: Consider names of ancestors or family traditions.
Focus on meaning: A beautiful name with a positive meaning becomes even more special.
Global perspective: Choose names that are easy to pronounce across cultures.
These steps ensure the name feels thoughtful and fitting, both for the child and for the family's future generations.
Nature-Inspired Baby Girl Names
Many parents are drawn to the beauty of nature when selecting baby girl names. Nature has endless inspiration — strength, growth, peace, and resilience. Popular choices include:
Aurora (inspired by the northern lights)
Lily (symbolizing purity)
Skye (representing limitless possibilities)
Nature-inspired names remain timeless, offering beauty and strength in their symbolism.
Modern Baby Girl Names for the Contemporary World
In today’s world, parents often seek modern baby girl names that feel fresh and adaptable. These names balance tradition with current sensibilities, making them perfect for a new generation. Some stylish modern picks are:
Zara (meaning "princess" or "flower")
Nova (meaning "new")
Aria (meaning "melody")
Modern names often feature easy pronunciation, attractive sounds, and meanings that feel relevant for today's dynamic environment.
How Culture Influences Baby Girl Names
Culture plays a significant role when it comes to baby girl names. Different societies have unique naming traditions that add rich layers of meaning and pride to a name. Whether it’s Sanskrit names like Anaya (meaning "care") or Irish names like Saoirse (meaning "freedom"), each carries stories from around the world.
Choosing a culturally significant name is a way to pass on heritage, pride, and history to the next generation in a meaningful, memorable way.
Baby Girl Names and Their Evolving Trends
The popularity of baby girl names is always shifting. In earlier decades, names like Susan and Deborah dominated. Today, names like Luna, Harper, and Mila have taken center stage.
What remains constant is the desire for a name that feels heartfelt and meaningful. Whether traditional or contemporary, the best name is the one that connects deeply with parents and symbolizes their dreams for their child.
Unique Fact About Baby Girl Names
Here’s an interesting fact: In Iceland, the naming of babies is so important that the country has an official naming committee. Parents must choose names that are grammatically compatible with the Icelandic language. If a new name is proposed, it must be approved by the committee. This tradition ensures that every name fits the culture and preserves linguistic heritage.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
The search for baby girl names is a joyful and meaningful journey. Whether you are drawn to vintage charm, modern simplicity, nature’s wonders, or cultural significance, the perfect name is waiting for your baby girl.
Taking time to understand the meaning, sound, and story behind the name ensures that it becomes a treasured gift your child will carry proudly throughout her life.
Enjoy every step of this magical journey and trust that the right name — one that feels like it was always meant to be — will find its way to your heart.

Lexi's Basic Info
Tumblr media
Name: Alexis Amara Warren
Of all the faceclaims I've had to do over time, I think Lexi's was one of the easiest I've ever done. For the 60s, we have Leslie Uggams (I Spy); the 80s, Michelle Thomas (The Cosby Show); the 90s, Tatyana Ali (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air); and now, Whitney Peak (Gossip Girl).
Nicknames: Lexi, Alex, Lex Luthor (a DC comics supervillain; the nickname is only used by her brothers, and Lexi acts like she hates it, but she actually finds it kind of funny)
Age: 18
Date of Birth: July 4
Zodiac: Cancer
Birthstone: Ruby
Nationality: Canadian-American
Sexuality: Lesbian
Birthplace: Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
Current Residence: Mountain Street, Camden, Maine
Occupation: High school senior, semi-professional figure skater
Talents/Skills: Talking her way out of situations, sarcasm, reading lips, and flying (she has her private pilot’s license and only flies her dad’s plane)
Birth order: (biological) younger of two, (adoptive) middle of five adopted kids
Biological siblings: Micah Edward King
Adoptive siblings: Sean Colton (22), Isla Blair (20), Ian Wyatt (15), and Tessa Hadley (12)
Parents: Nathan Robert Warren and Liana Eden Moore
Biological parents: Isaac Jordan Bergeron and Heather Abigail King
Signature:
Tumblr media
Height: 5’4”
Race: Bi-racial (African-American and White)
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Black
Glasses or contact lenses: None
Distinguishing features: Scar on right shoulder from surgery
Mannerisms: Clicking her nails together and bouncing her leg when she’s anxious or thinking, licking her lips subconsciously, and constantly tugging her hair when she has the chance
Health: Weak left leg after breaking it, untreated anger issues, and lupus
Hobbies: Collecting crystals and plants, rewatching 90s-00s anime/cartoons (Avatar, Ouran High School Host Club, Sailor Moon, etc.), reading tarot, making sarcastic comments, buying books even though her to-be-read stack is a mile long
Greatest flaw (in their opinion): How long she can hold a grudge. Regardless of whether or not the person has apologized, if Lexi thinks she’s been wronged in any way, she will absolutely hold some sort of animosity toward that person for a long time. While she isn’t always aggressive in showing her hatred or distrust of a person, she makes it very obvious that she doesn’t appreciate them being around.
Best quality (in their opinion): Probably how protective she is. Lexi is the type to act first and think later, leading her into some dangerous situations as she forsakes her own safety to protect the people she cares about. Whether it’s a family member, friend, or even a stray animal, she goes out of her way to ensure their safety. She has a great sense of loyalty, which could eventually be her downfall.
Biggest fear: Abandonment. When she was seven, she overheard her group home’s leader telling a potential adoptive family that she had been given up by her parents due to her not being the same race as them. She knew well enough what that meant, but it wasn’t until her biological parents reached out to her at the age of ten, asking her to get tested to see if she would be a donor match for the kidney her brother needed, that she realized how deep it went. They stayed in contact during her testing, but as soon as they realized she wasn’t a match, they ditched her once again. She tried reaching out many times, but they eventually sent her a letter, telling her to stop as they no longer considered her their daughter. Although she has since grown from that and is now quite content in her adoptive family, the thought of anyone leaving her, sends her spiraling.
Hogwarts House: Slytherin
Favorite ice cream: Caramel swirl
Favorite color: Sage green
Favorite number: 9, how old she was when she was finally adopted out of foster care
Favorite songs: all-american bitch by Olivia Rodrigo, girls like me don’t cry by thuy, and The Archer by Taylor Swift
Favorite movies: Dead Poets Society, Coraline, The Shining, WALL-E, and Back to the Future
Favorite TV shows: Shameless, The Handmaid’s Tale, Breaking Bad, Arcane, and Extraordinary Attorney Woo
Favorite books: She Gets the Girl by Rachael Lippincott and Alyson Derrick, Forged by Magic by Jenna Wolfhart, Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, Hearing Red by Nicole Maser, and The Playlist by Elizabeth Morgan
Favorite video games: Lexi doesn't really care for video games, but she enjoys occasionally playing Grand Theft Auto or Call of Duty with her brothers.
A musical they like: Beetlejuice
A place they want to visit: The Hollywood Sign, Los Angeles, California

BEST POP ALBUMS OF ALL TIME-by me.
1O. 1989-Taylor Swift
The best Taylor Swift album ever. A prefect pop, thag if you don't love it-I'll be so mad at you. Can't wait for Taylor's Version.
9. Dangerous Woman- Ariana Grande
It didn't reach no.1 on the billboard 200, and didn't have no.1 hit, but the impact that album had in modren music is huge. Beside being fan favorite, it seems like Dangerous Woman helped Ari transform from a nick ex star, to a global superstar.
8. Victory-The Jacksons
Yeah, wired choise. This the last album of The Jacksons together with Michael. With catchy songs like State Of Shock featuring Mick Jagger and Torture, and some underrated jams like Body and Be Not Always-it seems like you gonna love this album.
7. Purple Rain-Prince
This album, beside being a classic, has its own magic. Why? Once the intro to Let's Go Crazy starts, you can get into the vibe really quick. Even tho there are some huge (and loud) guiter solos during the album, y'all will like it. And, it even won an Oscar for best original song. Also, watch the actual movie. It's on Netflix.
6. Man Of The Woods-Justin Timberlake
I told you I have wired teast. This 2018 album, remarks the comeback of Justin Timberlake to the spotlight. It's different than all the albums that were out this year, and 12 years old me was in love with this album. Just why the f*** he didn't add Can't Stop The Feeling?!?
5. the Grease soundtrack
Believe me-this is the best movie soundtrack ever. Even better than Purple Rain and the Black Panter! From the unforgettable Summer Nights, to the "tiktok hit" Hopelessly Devoted To You, and You're The One That I Want-y'all have to give it a shot.
4. Bad-Michael Jackson
Pop prefection. 11 songs, that each song out it is out of this world. I Just Can't Stop Loving You, Bad, The Way You Make Me Feel, Man In The Mirror and Dirty Diana all went no.1, and Smooth Criminal reached to no.7 on the Hot 100, which means that this album has some massive hits in it. MUST HEARD ALBUM.
3. True Blue- Madonna
This 1986 albun is one of Madonna's greatest album ever. I grew up listening to this album every sunday, when my mom was cleaning the living room. I swear that because of her, I know La Isla Bonita by heart. 🎶last night I dreamt of San Pedro🎶. Stream it.
2. Thriller-Michael Jackson
The best album to ever happen. Every song is iconic, and cannot be skipped. Beside having the best MJ songs ever, the music videos for Billie Jean (that has reached 1B views on Youtube a week ago), Beat It and Thriller left a big footstep on music history and on MTV. So many other artists were inspaired by this masterpiece. you MUST listen to this album.
1. Off The Wall- Michael Jackson
One of the lest disco albums ever. My all time favorite album ever. How will I explain it...all the songs have magic inside them, and you can hear the joy and the happines in Michael's voice, that can let you in into his magical world. This album has disco classics, funky hits, and even a ballad! That's why Off The Wall is my fav album ever. Give it a shot, you'll love it.
Honerbale mentions:
Red-Taylor Swift, Positions-Ariana Garnde, Spice World-Spice Girls, Millennium-Backstreet Boys, Sour-Olivia Rodrigo.
Notes:
All the picks were chosen from my pov and listening expirance, so don't be too mean at me.

Señorita, Ch. 1
Tumblr media
Reader x Rafael Barba. Set immediately after The Undiscovered Country. CW: none for now, definite smut in the next part.
Tags: @madpanda75 @ottosuricato @delia26 @dreila03 @sass-and-suspenders @glimmerglittergirl @melsquared79 - anyone else just ask.
***
After the Householder case and resigning from the D.A.’s office, Rafael decided he needed to get away from it all - and so he headed to motherland - Cuba. Rather than staying in Havana, where he knew it would be bustling with tourists, he went to the Isla de Juventud - or Isle of Youth, a smaller island off the coast of Cuba, directly south of Havana.
Twenty minutes later, Rafael was checking catching a taxi to his hotel, Sol Cayo Largo, a beautiful beachfront hotel on the more isolated Cayo Lago del Sur.
After checking into his room, Rafael made his way to the bar. “Dame un chupito de escocés por favor,” he ordered. The bartender nodded and poured a single scotch.
“¿Puedo tomar esto afuera?” Rafael asked and the bartender nodded. Rafael walked outside towards the beach which was just feet away. He unbuttoned the white linen guayabera shirt he was wearing, feeling the warm sun and breeze on his chest.
Two women in bikinis walked by and they waved at Rafael. “Hola,” one greeted. Rafael tipped his glass towards them and they giggled. Rafael watched them as they walked away, his eyes scanning over their sand covered derrières.
Clearing his throat, Rafael turned back towards the beach in front of him. He watched as the crystal clear water pulled away and returned, crashing against the sand. Seagulls cawed above him. Rafael removed his sandals, feeling the hot sand beneath his feet. Setting his glass down on the sand, he removed his shirt. He picked up the glass once more and walked further down, closer to the water.
Sitting, he watched the waves ebb and flow. The phone in his pocket buzzed and he looked at it. He sighed at the intrusion.
[Olivia, 3:30 PM: Rafael, SVU needs you. Please reconsider.]
Rafael began typing a response but before hitting send, he quickly re-read his message. He deleted his response, and typed two little letters: no. He hit send and turned off his phone, turning back to the waves.
As a citizen of the US, Rafael knew he could stay up to one month in the home of his ancestors. And he was going to make good use of each and every single day of the coming month.
Night came quickly. Dinner at the hotel consisted of lechon asado and maduros. Rafael wiped his mouth with a napkin, as he watched other hotel guests mingle and eat.
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed you. You sat at the bar, sipping on what he could only assume was a mojito. He followed your eyes - you were watching an older couple dancing to the music that was being played by the live band. Rafael took in the sight of you in a short sundress that left little to the imagination. Your arms and legs were reddened but tanned - he figured you’d had been here a few days. Your hair was swept up and small beaded earrings hung off your ear. You crossed your legs and Rafael could make out the delicate gold anklet that hung off your leg.
You felt a pair of eyes on you. Swiveling in your seat, you locked eyes with Rafael. Your breath hitched as you were taken aback by his handsome features. A waiter stopped at Rafael’s table and he motioned to you. The waiter nodded before disappearing.
“Perdóneme, señorita. The man at the table said he would like for you to have this,” the bartender replied, tapping your shoulder. It was another mojito. Blushing, you took the drink and mouthed thanks to Rafael who raised his glass to yours.
The band finished and everyone applauded the couple, as they made their way back. Feeling bold, you hopped off your seat and made your way towards Rafael. Rafael smirked as you approached him. Not waiting for permission, you slid in the empty seat in front of him. “Hi.”
Rafael wiped his mouth once more with the cloth napkin. He pushed his plate aside and leaned back in his seat. “Hi.”
TBC.

A/N: I don’t normally post things in parts, but this next section of “Learning to Love Again” is giving me grief, and if I didn’t break it where I did, you’d still be reading this section next Tuesday.
There are some things that our Courtly Cordonian friends need to talk about, but will all of the conversations be as pleasant as hoped, or will the outcomes be unexpected? (I’m such a cornball when I try to summarize or tease.)

Claire woke up amazed at the fact that she had been able to fall asleep at all. Events from the night before flashed through her still sleepy thoughts: Olivia’s cruel words to Drake that she didn’t fully understand, following him out into the frozen darkness, the sky glittering with the most spectacular sight she’d even seen…the walk back to the estate and…Claire felt a wave of heat wash over her as she remembered what happened next. His hands, his lips, holding her, touching her, kissing her urgently and fiery…transitioning to a slower, sweeter, softer kiss… a kiss that was like air, like salvation. She remembers drifting off to sleep against his chest, and the alarmingly complete feeling that that had given her, her cheek against his warm skin. She remembers how the chill of the night had crept back in as soon as they had left the bliss of each other’s arms.
She shivered as she got out of bed, that chill still deep in her bones .It makes sense that Lythikos is an ice field, she thought, pulling her favorite green sweater on, its Olivia’s territory, after all. She frowned as she recalled the look of pride on the Duchess’ face when she saw that her words were eliciting the desired reaction from Drake. She’d mentioned two women, Savannah and Isla… and she’d mentioned them disappearing. An uneasy feeling swam through her stomach and she felt her lips dip into a thoughtful frown. She shimmied into her jeans and shoved her feet into boots. Hugging her arms across her chest in an attempt to find the warmth that Drake had given her last night, she left her room. Heading to the banquet hall for breakfast, she took the longer route in hopes of running into someone in particular along the way.
Rounding the second mahogany laden, marble tiled corner, she nearly bumped right into the person that she was looking for. “Oof,” she mumbled, catching herself before colliding with the crown prince himself. “Sorry, Liam,” she looked up at him, brows knitted together.
“Oh! Good morning, Claire, no need to apologize, I-” he noticed the look of concentration on her face. “Is everything alright?”
Claire bit her lip. “I'm not sure, I...” she ran her hands through her hair, blowing out a breath. “Can I ask you something? Something about...something Olivia said last night?”
Liam's eyes went wide before he looked over his shoulder to ensure that no one else was in the hall. He put his hand on Claire's shoulder and guided her into the nearest room, closing the door behind him. It was some kind of reading room or study, all dark wood and high end leather. The large winged back chairs looked extravagantly comfortable, but Claire remained on her feet, nervously shuffling as she tried to word her question right.
“Okay Claire, tell me what Olivia said.” Liam's voice was so soft and kind, and Claire smiled to herself as she thought how lucky the Cordonian people were to have such a caring and genuine man as their future King. He stood across from her, watching her with his cool blue eyes as she recanted the altercation between Olivia and Drake, starting with the warning she'd directed at Claire.
“She told me that ladies who spend time with Drake at court tend to go missing. She mentioned someone named Savannah first,” Claire felt angry tears forming in her eyes as she remembered the cold look on Olivia's face as she stood there pouring salt into Drake's wounds.
Liam sighed. “Savannah is...a sore topic for Drake,” he said, a sad look crossing his handsome features. He turned to look out the window. “One that he's coming to terms with, I think...but still...” Then something she said stuck in Liam's mind. He turned back to face her, urgency in his voice as he continued, “Claire, you said Olivia mentioned Savannah first... She didn't...who else did Olivia mention?” He had gripped the back of the chair he was standing behind, his knuckles white.
The deflated sound of Drake's disheartened voice asking her why she'd followed him flooded her ears, the look of pure pain on his face flickered before her eyes as she answered Liam's question. “She brought up someone named Isla...” Claire said in a small voice.
Liam closed his eyes and sighed. He knew that bringing Isla up was the best and most effective way to wound Drake Walker. He remembered the horrifyingly grief stricken look his friend had, as he finally confided in Liam about his plans to marry her...and about the baby he'd only known about for two days before it was taken from him. His hands fell from the chair, one going up to rub his eyes. “What...” he looked Claire in the eye again, but this time they were painted with pain, his heart aching for Drake. “What did Drake do, when Olivia said that?” he asked.
Claire told him what had happened, how Drake had stormed out and she had followed, how no one seemed to notice their absence.
“I am so sorry that I wasn't there, Claire. I...” his eyes flashed with anger and it startled her momentarily. “I need to speak with Olivia,” the gentle tone gone, replaced with one of authority. “I'm sure she took advantage of the fact that I wasn't there to...” he trailed off, heading toward the door.
“Liam?” Claire put her hand on his shoulder and he turned back towards her. “What did Olivia mean about...disappearing? Why...why does she hate Drake? I...I don't understand.” She slumped her shoulders.
Liam's face softened. He took her hand from his shoulder and held it in his. “Claire, those are Drake's stories to tell. If I told you, I would be no better than Olivia. He's going to have to be the one to tell you, when he's ready. I'm sorry... I wish I had a better answer for you, I truly do. I feel your good intention...I can tell that you care about him and I know that he cares about you.” He placed her hand at her side. “Just be there for him, when he's ready to talk to you, alright?”
Claire nodded. “Alright,” she said. She did want to be there for him. She wanted to understand the things that had hurt him, so that she could help him fight them.
Liam nodded. “Now, I really do need to go speak with Olivia. She...” he shook his head. “She doesn't know what she did.” He took a few steps back toward the door before picking his head up, turning back to her and saying, “Thank you, Claire, for being there for my friend last night. Thank you for trying to protect him.” He smiled warmly at her before striding from the room.
Claire had gone to breakfast joining Maxwell and Hana. “There you are, late bloomer!” Maxwell nudged her as she took a seat next to him, his cheeks full of bacon.
“Need that beauty sleep,” Claire played along, preferring not to share what she and Liam had just been talking about. Not even the two of them had noticed Drake or Claire's absence last night, and if they had, they hadn't brought it up, nor was Claire about to. Instead they talked about the event du jour; The Nevrakis Ball.
“More fancy waltzing and such I assume?” Claire asked, using her fork to push food around her plate. She didn't feel nauseous, she just didn't feel hungry, and her talk with Liam hadn't made her feel any better about what happened to Drake the night before. She abandoned her fork and stuck with the coffee.
“You betcha!” Maxwell answered. “The Nevrakis Ball is one of the largest of the year. Most Cordonian Balls are only attended by Cordonian nobles, but Olivia's family has invited nobility and dignitaries from foreign countries for years.” He looked at Claire. “I think you're still the first American bartender in attendance, though,” he said with a wink and a smirk. Claire rolled her eyes and Hana laughed and the three of them finished breakfast chatting away about the evening's festivities. Liam had not come into the banquet hall, and she hadn't seen Drake or Olivia yet, either. She tried to put her uneasy thoughts aside, but all she could think about was Drake- how upset he'd been...how...right it'd felt to go after him.
By the time Hana and Claire had picked out gowns for the ball that afternoon, it was time to start getting ready. Claire suggested that the two of them prep together in her room, Hana excitedly agreeing to more bonding time with her new friend. They helped each other into their gowns, Hana's a long sleeved, form fitting petal pink dress that brushed the floor as she walked, the neck lined with delicate white fur, Claire's an icy blue with lace in patterns that resembled snowflakes. The two gushed to each other about how beautiful they looked, and Hana helped Claire style her hair. She pulled it back and pinned it loosely to the back of her head, exposing her shoulder's and the dramatic dipping neckline of her gown. “Perfect,” she had smiled at her. The two of them linked arms and headed to the ballroom.
“Oh! I love Lady Penelope's gown.” Hana's eyes widened and her voice took on a tint of awe as she watched the dark haired woman giggling at something Lady Kiara had said. She was dressed in a floor length purple number with tasteful cut outs along her slim waistline. “I heard she designs them herself, you know. I really should go tell her, it really is lovely.” She looked to Claire who smiled back to her.
“Go ahead. She really does look very lovely in it,” Claire winked and Hana blushed slightly before heading off towards where Lady Penelope stood by the bar. Left alone, Claire's eyes scanned the crowd for Drake's tall figure, but landed first on Liam, chatting with two foreign noblemen. She headed towards him and waited for his conversation to end before stepping beside him, placing her hand on his elbow. “Liam,” she greeted him, “you look very handsome tonight.”
“Claire, you look beautiful,” he beamed at her. “I'm sure Drake won't be able to keep his eyes off of you all night.”
“Have you seen him?” Claire asked breathlessly, eyes darting around the room. She was starting to get nervous having not seen him all day. He'd been upset last night...and then they'd...and now she couldn't find him.
“He'll be here,” Liam assured her. “I'm sure he's just waiting for everything to die down so he can slip in unnoticed by the masses, as is his way.”
Claire nodded. “So...how did your talk with Olivia go?”
Liam huffed. “I actually haven't been able to get her alone to talk to her yet.”
Claire raised her eyebrows. “Really? The prince can't get someone alone?” Immediately recognizing her words she mumbled, “I'm sorry, Liam that was... I'm just...”
Liam patted her shoulder. “It's alright, Claire. I know you're just looking out for Drake. I'll talk to her tonight, I promise. At some point she'll be done with her hostess duties and I'll take her aside. Now,” he glanced over Claire's shoulder and grinned. “I believe there's someone here to see you.” Liam turned away and Claire saw him heading in Kiara's direction before feeling a warm hand on the small of her back.
“Berkley...you look...so damn pretty,” he whispered into her ear. Claire closed her eyes as the hairs on the back of her neck rose and goosebumps formed up and down her limbs. She twisted around to see Drake standing before her, his big brown eyes drinking her in, his hand still firmly on her back.
“Hi,” she said, her voice low and husky, their close proximity bringing back the burning sensations of his lips on her skin. “I haven't seen you all day, I...” she glanced down before blinking back up at him. “I was worried you were skipping it.”
I wouldn't skip a chance to see you, he thought to himself. He shook his head, keeping his eyes locked on hers. “Not skipping, see,” he gestured down at himself. Claire grinned at him and it set his heart ablaze. The hand that had been on her back this whole time dropped to his side, brushing her hip on the way down. “Let's get a drink, and then maybe...” his breath caught. Fuck off, Walker, you're not doing this again. You spent all day talking yourself into telling her. You're fucking telling her. “Maybe we can...talk.” There was a cautiously hopeful glint in his eye that Claire hadn't seen yet. It lifted her heart in a way she hadn't known.
“I would love that.” She looped her arm through his, smiling at the noticeable intake of breath on his part as she did. The corner of his lip pulled upwards shyly and he glanced sidelong at her through his dark lashes. I hope you know what you're doing, idiot. He thought to himself as he led the only girl in the room to the bar.
It was true that Drake had spent the better part of the day wrestling with whether or not he should explain Olivia's words to Claire. His immediate instinct had been a resounding no- telling her meant letting her in, meant letting her know what his demons looked like, the ugly bastards that they were. Telling her meant trusting her and he hadn't trusted anyone in that way since Isla. But she'd tried to show time and again that she was different. Hell, and she was different. She'd come out in the snow after dark to come after him, to try to comfort him. To make sure that he was safe, and not alone. No one else had even so much as followed him out of a room. Then they'd hastily stumbled into one another, fiery and fast- that was normal, expected. They were clearly attracted to one another, and though  he knew that once he had a taste of her he'd be hooked like an addict, he also knew it was only a matter of time until it happened. But then something different had happened. When normally it would have been a quick fuck and then off to shower him off of her, instead they'd slowed the pace, had dissolved into slow, languid kisses and finally, had simply settled against one another, skin stitched to skin, breathing slow and content. Instead of jumping off of him like he'd burned her, she'd fallen asleep against his chest. How he'd wanted just to shut his own eyes and melt into her. It had almost hurt when they had to separate. That was not normal. That was not expected. Claire Berkley was unexpected, and that's why he had to tell her.

Ellie Bamber wants to be 'moved' by the roles she takes on
Ellie Bamber just wants to be "moved" by her characters.
The 'The Nutcracker and the Four Realms' actress has enjoyed a diverse career to date - since the festive Disney blockbuster came out she has starred in BBC's dramatic adaptation of 'Les Miserables' - and she admitted she has a very simple criteria when it comes to choosing her projects.
Speaking to Stylist magazine, she said: "I'm taken by a story and a character. I'll read a script and if it touches me and moves me and makes waves, that's why I'll choose it.
"Like with Mandy [in upcoming drama 'The Trial of Christine Keeler'], I thought she was just incredible. That's my defence for any of the characters I play."
Bamber, 21, has already taken on a number of varied roles, including India Hastings in dark 2016 thriller 'Nocturnal Animals' alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams.
Reflecting on the movie, she admitted: "I feel very lucky to have had that experience and to have worked with Jake. I mean come on - I was like, 'F**k yeah!' I respected him, Amy and [Isla Fisher] enormously. Isla was super cool.
"At the time of the film's release, I saw a poster of 'Nocturnal Animals' in the Curzon cinema beside where I live and I was like, 'Oh my god'. I felt really lucky to be part of it, so seeing it I thought, 'Oh s**t!' "
For 'Les Mis', Bamber is joined by another talented cast featuring the likes of Josh O'Connor, Dominic West and 'The Crown' star Olivia Colman.
She added: "There is a moment [with us on screen together], yeah. A brief moment.
"I took the train back to London with Olivia and it was the most fun I've ever had on a Eurostar... with the Queen! We had a conversation about microwaving eggs. It was very silly."

ISLA BRISA // YEAR ONE, WEEK THREE // LOTT HOUSEHOLD
Follow the cut~
Tumblr media
Kicking this round off with a potty face is Caroline, and just Caroline! Remember, Boris and Jannick both moved out to be with their significant others. Here’s what we rolled for ROS this week:
Minor events: *  Tax refund: Turns out you paid too much tax, and you're getting a refund. Add d10 * 100 to the family funds.  * 500
Major events: *  Massive repairs: Break d10 items on your lot and either attempt to repair them yourself or call in the professionals.  * 9
Tumblr media
Things could probably be going better for Caroline, as is the theme of her life.
Tumblr media
Things could also probably be going better for Olivia.
Tumblr media
And Sam, as well.
Tumblr media
Yeahhhhhhhhhh this shit’s HARD. In the last stages of her pregnancy, I had her in this weird cycle of sleep-eat-sleep-eat, most often with the sleep happening while she faceplanted a meal.
Tumblr media
Sam: Mommy in the way, it okay. Just crawl over Mommy for rotten milk bottle :)
Tumblr media
AGGGGHHHH
Tumblr media
AGHHHHHHHHHHH
Tumblr media
Even the toddlers are passing out!
Tumblr media
Caroline: My children eat from dog bowls and I haven’t cleaned or had a proper meal in weeks, but everything is fine :) I don’t miss Jannick :) and Boris :) at all :)
Tumblr media
Oh, thank fuck.
Tumblr media
And thank fuck for this! Just one baby!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apparently I decided to chronicle Jannick’s arrival before showing the baby, but you get a sneak peek in Olivia’s thought bubble.
Tumblr media
The wee bab is a girl named Hema, who has all of Caroline’s genetics.
Tumblr media
Caroline: Can you come in the house and help me with the babies?
Jannick: Actually, no. You locked the door.
I got SO MAD at him for not coming in to help, too! I forgot she ran a home business and I had locked the door to prevent people from coming inside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A robbery!!!! [1/5]
Tumblr media
Caroline: I can’t believe that bitch stole an entire tree.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, birthday time for the stinky twins. Self-sufficiency, here we come! Sam’s up first.
Tumblr media
I am not surprised.
Tumblr media
Next is Olivia.
Tumblr media
It makes me laugh that she always grows into the same hair as Caroline.
Tumblr media
Oh, come on. Their needs are rock bottom and I’m not finished with their makeovers!
Tumblr media
I mean, you did have a kid, but I don’t blame you. This week has been hell on me too, girl.
Tumblr media
With just one child dependent on her, Caroline can finally get around to fixing all the broken appliances.
Tumblr media
Hey, Sam’s back! And she’s immediately passed out. So, so close to the bed, too.
Tumblr media
Caroline: I’ll fix this goddamn thing one day.
Tumblr media
Sandcastles are a great way to relax at the end of the day.
Tumblr media
I finally got around to changing Olivia’s hair. None of the colorful hair I have actually looks that great on her; her headshape is kinda weird.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hema has obtained a body! An important milestone in every sim kid’s life!
Tumblr media
Here she is after a makeover. She’s sloppy (two points), very, very shy (zero points), between lazy and active (five points), very playful (ten points) and very nice (nine points.)
Tumblr media
Maybe the sink just wants to STAY broken?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s something vaguely simian about her features, but I like her anyway. If I had to pick a favorite it’d be her. I really do love of all of the Lott girls, though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Childhood friendship :)
Tumblr media
Finally, finally, finally getting back to some fishing!
Tumblr media
Caroline: Why must I suuuufffeerrrr
You know you can just...take the child from the toilet, right? You’re her mother? You have that ability?
Tumblr media
Oh look a cute and wholesome family meal--
Tumblr media
SOMEBODY PLEASE GET THE TODDLER FROM THE DOGHOUSE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look, I don’t want to give the impression that Caroline is a horrible mother. She tries. But it’s hard raising three alien offspring by yourself with only fishing to keep food on the table.
Tumblr media
Sniffing the flowers outside at 4AM is totally normal 9-year-old behavior.
Tumblr media
A hug rejection? Really??? THIS IS NOT FUN AND WHOLESOME
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Caroline: Boris! Why are you out so late?
Boris: I am adjusting to Philippe’s schedule.
Caroline: Well, while you’re here--would you mind helping me out with the kids for a bit?
Tumblr media
Of course he doesn’t mind. ♥
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Birthday time for Hema already! She grew up with the same cursed Caroline Hair. I really like the facial structure diversity among the three girls, even with two of them sharing the same father. And all the alien ears!
Tumblr media
Finally in a good place to open up the shop again!
Tumblr media
Hema: This “childhood” and “school” thing is overrated.
Tumblr media
Oh, fuck off, Yvette.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heatstroke hits the girls hard :(
Tumblr media
But a game of Red Hands always makes everything better!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just the girls being cute. They’re old enough to help out with the family business now!
Tumblr media
The heatstroke finds its way to Caroline eventually. This looks so painful!!!
Tumblr media
And we’ll end the week with Caroline fishing peacefully by the seashore.
They paid $250 in taxes, and now we’ll be making our way to the Stormwind/Vega/Alvarado household.

Summer Film Preview: 27 of the Most Anticipated Movies of the Season!
Among ET's 90 top picks for summer are our 27 most anticipated films of the season.
Every summer, there is no shortage of new films to blow audiences away at theaters -- and blow away records at the box office. This summer, things are looking especially massive. Blockbuster season kicks off in a huge way with the highly anticipated back-to-back releases of Deadpool 2and Solo: A Star Wars Story, ushering in an onslaught of franchise films with new installments of Jurassic World, Marvel's Ant-Man, Mission: Impossible and The Purge.
Not everything is a sequel, though. Of the originals is the eagerly awaited adaptation of Crazy Rich Asians, marking the first time a major studio has produced an all-Asian-led film since The Joy Luck Club; Spike Lee's latest, BlacKkKlansman; and -- because it wouldn't be summer without one -- a shark attack flick, The Meg, starring Jason Statham.
But no matter what you’re looking forward to, there's plenty to choose from among these 27 sure-to-be hit films.
Deadpool 2 (Out Now)
The Deadpool sequel is bigger, louder and packed with more violence and superpeople, dick jokes and fourth wall-breaking meta-ness than the original X-Men-adjacent movie. And while that all sounds like a recipe for a bloated case of sequelitis, Ryan Reynolds and co. not only pull it off, but top the first.
Directed by: David Leitch | Written by: Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Ryan Reynolds Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams
Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25)
Forget everything you think you know about the legendary smuggler and prepare for the unexpected. That's the best advice we can give you about Star Wars' latest anthology installment, which, sure, features the Kessel Run and Han Solo and Chewbacca's origin story, then blasts off for so much more.
Directed by: Ron Howard | Written by: Jonathan Kasdan and Lawrence Kasdan Starring: Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Emilia Clarke
American Animals (June 1)
Tumblr media
The Orchard / MoviePass Ventures
According to the minds behind American Animals, while most movies are based on a true story, this one is a true story, about four college students who plan "one of the most audacious art heists in U.S. history." It also marks the first appearance on this list by the true star of the summer movie season: Ann Dowd.
Directed by: Bart Layton | Written by: Bart Layton Starring: Evan Peters, Barry Keoghan, Blake Jenner, Jared Abrahamson, Ann Dowd
Hereditary (June 8)
Tumblr media
A24
Following its screening at Sundance earlier this year, Hereditary was hailed as the scariest horror movie in years -- if not of all time. As for what actually transpires in the film, well, that is best left vague. Brace yourself for hypnotically unnerving tongue pops and flashbacks to Toni Collette's iconic turn in The Sixth Sense.
Directed by: Ari Aster | Written by: Ari Aster Starring: Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff, Milly Shapiro, Ann Dowd
Ocean's 8 (June 8)
This year's Met Gala might as well have been early promo for Ocean's 8, which centers on another heist-happy Ocean, Debbie, who assembles a team of women to help rob a fictional Met Gala. (If you do some simple math, it seems Anne Hathaway's mark is one of the eight, too.) Unfortunately, Rihanna will likely not be dressed as a sexy pope.
Directed by: Gary Ross | Written by: Gary Ross and Olivia Milch Starring: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna
Won't You Be My Neighbor? (June 8)
Tumblr media
Focus Features
If you were a child in the '60s -- or '70s, '80s, '90s, the aughts, really, if you were a child ever -- then Won't You Be My Neighbor? will be a nostalgic return to your younger years, a look at the long-running and formative TV series Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and the man behind it, the late Fred Rogers.
Directed by: Morgan Neville
Hearts Beat Loud (June 8)
Tumblr media
Gunpowder & Sky
This gem of an indie is for anyone who has ever wished Nick Offerman could be your best friend, your dad or both: Kiersey Clemons plays Offerman's daughter and reluctant bandmate as they navigate fame and family in Hearts Beat Louder. Sprinkle in a queer romance and an earworm-y soundtrack, and what more could you ask for?
Directed by: Brett Haley | Written by: Brett Haley and Marc Basch Starring: Nick Offerman, Kiersey Clemons, Ted Danson, Toni Collette, Sasha Lane, Blythe Danner
Hotel Artemis (June 8)
Tumblr media
Global Road Entertainment
Read this logline: "Set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles, Hotel Artemis is a high-octane action-thriller starring Jodie Foster as The Nurse, who runs a secret, members-only hospital for criminals." Now re-read that sentence over and over and over until you go insane and this becomes your most anticipated movie of the year.
Directed by: Drew Pearce | Written by: Drew Pearce Starring: Jodie Foster, Dave Bautista, Sofia Boutella, Zachary Quinto, Sterling K. Brown, Jeff Goldblum
Incredibles 2 (June 15)
Tumblr media
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
It has been well over a decade since the original Incredibles arrived in theaters and, even now, under the looming threat of superhero saturation, that first film remains one of the best superhero movies period. Finally, Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack are back, with Frozone and, of course, Edna.
Directed by: Brad Bird | Written by: Brad Bird Starring: Holly Hunter, Craig T. Nelson, Samuel L. Jackson, Catherine Keener, Sophia Bush
Tag (June 15)
Tumblr media
Warner Bros. Pictures
This is a movie about tag -- as in, the game in which you tag someone and they are then "it." Specifically, Tag is about a group of childhood buddies who have been playing tag one month out of the year, every year, for 30 years. If you are wondering, Where do they come up with this?!, it was a Wall Street Journal article.
Directed by: Jeff Tomsic | Written by: Rob McKittrick and Mark Steilen Starring: Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Jon Hamm, Hannibal Buress, Isla Fisher, Leslie Bibb
Damsel (June 22)
Tumblr media
Magnolia Pictures
If you hear that Robert Pattinson is starring in a Western, you probably have a notion of what that film is. Damsel is not the movie you're imagining, guaranteed -- unless, of course, you pictured a screwball comedy about a pioneer who voyages west with a drunkard and a miniature horse named Butterscotch.
Directed by: David Zellner and Nathan Zellner | Written by: David Zellner and Nathan Zellner Starring: Robert Pattinson, Mia Wasikowska, David Zellner
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (June 22)
In the colossally successful Jurassic World, the dinosaurs destroyed the park, as dinosaurs are wont to do, and now Isla Nublar is threatening to destroy the dinosaurs. Thus, Claire and Owen are enlisted to help save the dinosaurs from a second extinction -- and that's only the beginning of this adventure.
Directed by: J.A. Bayona | Written by: Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly Starring: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, James Cromwell, Justice Smith
Under the Silver Lake (June 22)
Tumblr media
A24
Something about those hot summer nights must make us itch for a mystery, because this is yet another noir-y flick arriving in cineplexes, albeit a very modern take on the genre. Andrew Garfield plays a stoner Angelino who begins sleuthing when his dream girl disappears in the middle of the night without a trace.
Directed by: David Robert Mitchell | Written by: David Robert Mitchell Starring: Andrew Garfield, Riley Keough, Topher Grace, Jimmi Simpson
The First Purge (July 4)
Tumblr media
Universal Pictures
There's something almost comforting about knowing that every (sometimes every other) Independence Day brings a new installment in the ongoing Purge franchise. Who knew a nutty little murder flick could have so much steam? This one goes back to the beginning and the invention of a government-sponsored killing spree.
Directed by: Gerard McMurray | Written by: James DeMonaco Starring: Lex Scott Davis, Y'lan Noel, Luna Lauren Velez, Joivan Wade, Marisa Tomei
Ant-Man and the Wasp (July 6)
Consider the Ant-Man sequel a respite for those still reeling over the ending of Infinity War, a plucky comedic romp about heroes who shrink, supersize and now fly, too, which probably won't leave you frantically wiping away tears as the theater lights come on. Also, Michelle Pfeiffer plays a superhero!
Directed by: Peyton Reed | Written by: Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari and Paul Rudd Starring: Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hannah John-Kamen, Michael Peña
Sorry to Bother You (July 6)
Tumblr media
Annapurna Pictures
There is original, and then there is Sorry to Bother You. If a stranger, more out-there film has ever been made, I haven't seen it. I've never seen anything like this, a satiric tale about a telemarketer who uses his "white voice" to get ahead that feels at once painstakingly plotted and completely free-associated.
Directed by: Boots Riley | Written by: Boots Riley Starring: Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson, Jermaine Fowler, Steven Yeun, Armie Hammer
Whitney (July 6)
Whitney is not the first documentary to turn the lens on Whitney Houston in the years since her 2012 death, but it is the first to be endorsed by her estate, featuring interviews with loved ones of Houston who had never spoken publicly before and bombshell revelations that made news ahead of Whitney's official release.
Directed by: Kevin Macdonald
Eighth Grade (July 13)
Tumblr media
A24
You know how adults always say, "I'm so happy I didn't grow up when there was social media." Watch this Sundance drama, comedian Bo Burnham's directorial debut, and feel that tenfold, alternately a cringey and heartwarming look at what it means to be coming into your own -- yes, with YouTube and Twitter.
Directed by: Bo Burnham | Written by: Bo Burnham Starring: Elsie Fisher, Josh Hamilton
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (July 20)
Is Meryl Streep's character still alive for the Mamma Mia! sequel? Supposedly. We do know that we will see a younger version of Donna (played by Lily James) as the ABBA singalong jumps back in time to show the Dynamos' origin story, while in the present, Donna's daughter is pregnant with a baby of her own.
Directed by: Ol Parker | Written by: Ol Parker Starring: Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Lily James, Colin Firth, Cher
Mission: Impossible - Fallout (July 27)
Tumblr media
Paramount Pictures
After successfully completing five other supposedly impossible missions, whatever Ethan Hunt is tasked with in Fallout should be considered mission: pretty difficult but manageable. Still, Tom Cruise continues to up the ante in insane and preposterous ways, like jumping out of a plane at 25,000 feet, for one.
Directed by: Christopher McQuarrie | Written by: Christopher McQuarrie Starring: Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett
Christopher Robin (Aug. 3)
If you enjoyed last year's period drama Goodbye Christopher Robin, about the real boy who inspired the creation of Winnie the Pooh, then you are sure to enjoy this, too, Disney's less historical, more fantastical tale about grown-up Christopher Robin and how Pooh and the rest of the Hundred Acre Wood gang help him rediscover his imagination.
Directed by: Marc Forster | Written by: Alex Ross Perry Starring: Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell, Jim Cummings, Chris O'Dowd, Brad Garrett, Toby Jones
The Spy Who Dumped Me (Aug. 3)
I would pay money to watch Kate McKinnon read the phone book. Thankfully, she gets much more to do in this action-comedy, in which Mila Kunis plays the unwitting woman dumped by a spy. McKinnon plays her bestie, and the two quickly find themselves in over their heads trying to stop a terrorist group and save the world.
Directed by: Susanna Fogel | Written by: David Iserson and Susanna Fogel Starring: Mila Kunis, Kate McKinnon, Sam Heughan, Gillian Anderson, Justin Theroux
BlacKkKlansman (Aug. 10)
Tumblr media
Focus Features
Spike Lee is back with his latest joint, the so-crazy-it-must-be-true saga of Ron Stallworth, the first black police officer in Colorado Springs, and his undercover operation to infiltrate a local Ku Klux Klan chapter, which was so successful that he eventually became its head.
Directed by: Spike Lee | Written by: Spike Lee, David Rabinowitz, Charlie Wachtel, Kevin Willmott Starring: John David Washington, Adam Driver, Topher Grace, Laura Harrier
The Meg (Aug. 10)
Tumblr media
Warner Bros. Pictures
No summer is complete without a silly shark attack movie, and for the summer of 2018, The Meg fits that bill and then some. First of all, the shark in question is a megalodon, which basically just means a REALLY BIG F**KING SHARK, and hopefully Jason Statham will punch it at some point, right?
Directed by: Jon Turteltaub | Written by: Dean Georgaris, Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber Starring: Jason Statham, Ruby Rose, Rainn Wilson, Bingbing Li, Cliff Curtis, Masi Oka
Crazy Rich Asians (Aug. 17)
Based on the bestselling novel by Kevin Kwan, Crazy Rich Asians is about a Chinese American professor who travels to Singapore to meet her boyfriend's family and discovers they are -- you guessed it -- crazy rich! Hijinks ensue. This is also the first Hollywood movie with a majority Asian cast in 25 years, i.e., crazy overdue.
Directed by: Jon M. Chu | Written by: Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim Starring: Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Michelle Yeoh, Ken Jeong
To All the Boys I've Loved Before (Aug. 17)
Tumblr media
Netflix
Here's one YA fans have been waiting for. Based on the bestselling novel by Jenny Han, the title refers to letters our heroine, Lara Jean Covey, writes to her past crushes, love letters they are never meant to see -- but do, after they're accidentally mailed out. You don't need to head to the cinema to swoon over this one; it's streaming on Netflix.
Directed by: Susan Johnson | Written by: Sofia Alvarez Starring: Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Janel Parrish, Emilija Baranac, Israel Broussard, John Corbett
The Happytime Murders (Aug. 17)
Nothing says summertime like puppets snorting ecstasy and soliciting sex. The Happytime Murders -- no lie, from the same director as The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island -- is about police partners, one felt and one Melissa McCarthy, investigating who is shooting the stuffing out of puppets.
Directed by: Brian Henson | Written by: Todd Berger Starring: Melissa McCarthy, Elizabeth Banks, Maya Rudolph, Joel McHale

Statement Shoulders & Sleeves Ruled The Red Carpet
The fashion did not disappoint at this evening’s 77th Annual Golden Globes, with stars rolling up in breathtaking gowns, pantsuits, and — yes — there was even a chest harness. But while there was plenty of sartorial gold to go around, there was one major trend that swept across the carpet: the statement sleeve. This year, the bigger the shoulder, the better. Tonight’s attendees boasted show-stopping sleeves and statement shoulders of all sorts. There were doll-like puffed cap sleeves on Dakota Fanning’s Dior Haute Couture gown, and billowing bishop sleeves on Zoey Deutch’s golden Fendi dress. Da’Vine Joy Randolph donned the most gorgeous bow-inspired ruffle moment on her magenta gown, while Jodie Comer’s poofy emerald green look earned her a comparison to Baby Yoda (which, um, is definitely a compliment). Now, let’s keep in mind, puffy sleeves are certainly not a new trend. But, in case you had any doubt whether or not they’ll be sticking around in 2020, just take a gander at tonight’s attendees. And considering how badly women were snubbed by this year’s nominations (not one woman of colour was nominated for a TV Golden Globe and women were overlooked entirely for the Best Director category, for starters), perhaps this aesthetic choice is meant to send a message to those behind the scenes: Women have ditched the dainty, bare-shoulder gowns of the past for larger-than-life designs, proving that they’re taking up more space in Hollywood, and will continue to do so. Check out the biggest, baddest, and boldest sleeves of the evening, ahead.

Earth At Night In Color — Refuge In The Darkness | Apple TV+
(via /Film)
Earth at Night in Color is not your average nature docuseries. The new Apple TV+ show uses special cameras and a unique editing process to capture crystal-clear footage of animals at night. Normally when shows want to do this sort of thing they rely on night vision, but the Earth at Night in Color process has bright, clear footage that would be pitch-black in other circumstances. [...] check out an Earth at Night in Color exclusive clip featuring some brown bears waking up for the evening.
Behold: animals at night! And in color! This clip from Earth at Night in Color really lives up to the hype – it looks like it was shot at twilight, but in fact, it’s late at night. And yet it looks sharp and clear thanks to the methods used to capture – and then edit – the footage. Here are some details:
Using cutting-edge cameras and a revolutionary editing process, “Earth At Night In Color” presents nature’s previously unseen marvels with striking new clarity. Captured across six continents, from the Arctic Circle to the African grasslands, this pioneering work follows the moonlit lives of animals at night, revealing new insights and never-before-seen behaviors into some of our favorite species’ nocturnal habits. The show will also introduce relatively unknown creatures who are sure to become new icons of the animal kingdom.
And hey, if none of that appeals to you, Tom Hiddleston is the narrator! You can hear his very fancy voice describing the actions of animals as they move about in the dark. And that’s really what mother nature is all about, right? The first six episodes of Earth at Night in Color premiere globally on Apple TV+ tomorrow, December 4. An additional six episodes will arrive in 2021. The series is produced by the BAFTA-nominated Offspring Films and executive produced by Alex Williamson and Isla Robertson.
Earth At Night In Color is part of a group of new Apple TV+ docuseries. The list includes the already-released Tiny World, narrated by Paul Rudd, which offers “a unique perspective on the natural world, exploring the ingenuity and resilience of the smallest animals on the planet,” and Becoming You, narrated by Olivia Colman, described as ” global child development series that explores how the first 2,000 days on Earth shape the rest of our lives.” There’s also Long Way Up, the docuseries about the road trip adventures of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman.
