for the first time in forever, juliette felt like things were finally falling into place. she had found the courage to move out of her parents' place and was temporarily staying with her best friend. one thing led to another, and the pair had crossed a line she'd been silently hoping htey would cross. while she had told herself that it was just sex, her feelings for her best friend had always been there. there was something there, she was sure of it. one of their mutual friends had invited them to a party, and although the blonde found it weird when he hadn’t mentioned to her he was coming when her dark brown orbs spotted him she couldn’t help but smile. that same smile faded away as fast as it had appeared when steely blue hues realized he wasn’t alone. a beautiful girl wearing tight jeans, a snug top that showcased her considerable bust line and a sultry smile walked hand in hand with him. a wave of pure confusion washed over her, followed by vertigo, which had her head spinning slightly. who the fuck was that? “ oh, hey.” the female greeted them with a weak smile. " i didn't know you were coming."

piercing blue hues flutter shut the moment his lips press against her skin, swallowing down the sobs that threathened to rack her petite frame. juliette knew there was nothing she could say to change his mind, so instead, slender arms wrapped themselves tightly around his middle, face buried in his chest as she breathed in his familiar scent. "i love you," she breathes back, steely blue hues glancing up to meet his gaze. "you're the love of my life, ro. i have known it since the first time i saw you." forcing a weak smile onto her petals, she slowly lets go of him. "here," reaching for the bracelet on her wrist, one that had been gifted to her by her grandmother, she ties it on his wrist. "that way you'll have no choice but to come back to me."

the aquarium was their safe space, had been since the first time the pair had stumbled upon it when exploring the city. it had a story of its own written by the small family that had once called it home. they had buried the father after he killed himself, sick with grief, they had given him a proper resting place before making the aquarium their own. the blonde finds herself smiling at his words and they are enough to give her hope, but she's always been the kind of person to find hope in the little things. " if i'm honest, i don't care where we go," she confesses, her delicate fingers giving his a gentle squeeze. "as long as i'm with you, we could be in a deserted island with no one but us and i'd be happy." it was dangerous, for her to love him this much in a world like the one they lived in, but she chooses to love him anyway. the bland white walls of the waiting room seemed to close in on juliette as she sat, her delicate hands clasped tightly together in her lap. the tick of the clock on the wall echoed loudly in her ears, each passing second feeling like an eternity. she glanced at her phone for what felt like the hundredth time, willing it to light up with a message from banks. but no matter how many times she did so, there was nothing. her stomach churned with a dangerous mixture of anxiety and anticipation. today was supposed to be one of the most exciting days of their lives — the first ultrasound appointment to see their baby, yet, as the minutes dragged on and banks remained absent, her excitement was overshadowed by a gnawing sense of dread. she checked the time again, her heart sinking into the pit of her stomach as she realized he was over an hour late. thoughts raced through her mind, each one more panicked than the last. what if he had forgotten about today ? what if something had happened to him? what if he had changed his mind about becoming a father? just as she was about to give in to the urge to call him again, the door to the waiting room swung open, revealing his familiar figure. "where have you been ? i have been calling you for over an hour. "
