Silver's basically a physical carbon copy of his biodad, so what did he get from her? like, I understand why the two of them kind of have to stay as these super vague and mysterious figures -- the whole point of them is that their story ended 400+ years ago and they're not really relevant anymore (and. well. the more that gets explained about them, the less that can just kinda be handwaved as "oh the politics were Very Messy") (we can sit here and theorize all day but let us acknowledge that, ultimately, canon gave us almost nothing about them post-Meleanor and we'd just be making things up). I do still wonder about her though! RIP Lea, we never knew you and we probably never will.

Got an itch to play Sunless Sea again and it's always such an odd experience because. Like.

I know this game. Any other game, the level if knowledge and research I have put into this would make me a confident fucking master. And yet.

I can be reading text I've read dozens of times before and i still feel...not clueless, but absolutely off the mark. It all feels so familiar and yet I've never seen a victory condition. I've at least started pretty much every storyline but I'll still see something new each time I sink some time into it. I have a fucking JOURNAL of TRADE ROUTES and REQUIRED ITEMS and somehow that's only mildly helpful

That and the fact Fallen London's lore is so fucking batshit and honestly kind of hard to research (thr wiki's are frustratingly structured for me and the browser game is just. A bit inaccessible for me) means I can have a pretty solid understanding of what's going on in each port and what each faction is about and still ZERO FUCKING GRASP ON LITERALLY ANY PLOT

Broke (2016): BBC Sherlock is a phenomenal piece of media and anything that seems like a flaw just hasn't been fully explored yet

Woke (2020): BBC Sherlock is an incredibly flawed series run by an egotistical writer, it never deserved the hype and is actively bad on so many fronts (especially representation)

Bespoke (2024): BBC Sherlock is flawed and bogged down by increasingly poor writing, which many fans refused to see while it was airing, leading to hugely misplaced expectations (particularly for the final series), AND it has the seeds of some compelling characterizations and portrayals, some genuinely solid performances, and touches--albeit imperfectly--on complexities that are still being discussed today (particularly as it relates to the relationship between Sherlock and John). The huge cultural impact of the show has created a massive pendulum effect in its public perception, leading to most people today remembering a caricature of the show (whether positive or negative) rather than appreciating its nuanced merits and failings...that being said Season 4 sucked

I think the third photo is like an old version of a retinal scan? Cause Finn and Damon is set in the past where they don't have modern technology so their eye scan will be less high tech than what we have now (unless this is like a specific kind of photo but it does generally look like what they would show me at an optometrist of my own eye)

What if its the colours? Like he likes painting cause he can see the colours/shape of things clearly as he paints them :) (if he's originally from a world with no colour he probably enjoys them)

How do you go about doing accurate Beatle research without falling for common misconceptions/authors' opinions? I've been starting to read more Beatle books myself, and it's super fun! But I also want to be aware of potential biases and myths. Do you have any input?

Hi! I can only talk from my experience.

The first thing I was aware of is that everyone has a bias. Literally everyone, and people would recall the exact same event differently to tell the story they want to tell. Most authors, journalist, etc are actually quite blatant about it so it was easy to tell. George is my bias in the sense that I'm mostly trying to decipher his POV because I rarely saw it represented.

The biases and myths are so integrated to the Beatles story that I guess it is hard to tell them apart. In my opinion, the most common is the Lennon-McCartney as these untouchable geniuses or the things repeated since 1964. There is also so much information available that it can get dizzy trying to learn everything at once. My advice would be to just keep an open mind as you are learning, what we know today could be challenged tomorrow, avoid trying to find a "winner" for every single disagreement they had, and if anything seems interesting enough, to look for the context in more than one source of that specific event, interview, etc.
