What are your speculations for next season now it's just over 2 weeks away?

No clue honestly!! It's actually really exciting, there are so many possibilities. Outside of it being about bringing Savathun back, I genuinely have no clue what the rest of the setting could be like. Are we going back to the Throne World for more content about that and the Lucent Hive? More Fynch maybe as well?

Or is the location going to be somewhere else? I can see a possibility of the Nine being involved (with several hints to them this season), or perhaps the Dreaming City. We still have the curse to deal with! But it's also likely that it will be something we did not expect at all.

A lot of it depends on the showcase. The TFS showcase is on the same day as the season releases. I'm not sure if we'll get any other hints about the next season prior to that, although it might be possible they tell us the name and show key art again, like for Deep, but I wouldn't bet on it too much. The thing is, the showcase has to show us a lot more about TFS, including the location we're going to and likely some additional information about the portal. And the whole reason we need Savathun back is to tell us how to get through the portal.

Which means this can go two ways. One, the TFS showcase tells us more and Savathun is rezed at the start of the season and she immediately tells us what we have to do, so we don't have to pretend for 3 months that we didn't just learn everything from the showcase. Two, the showcase doesn't actually tell us enough about the portal or the location and the biggest things remain a secret and the season is about us trying to rez Savathun the whole time and we only learn about the portal at the very end, giving us a bombastic cliffhanger ending to the season, with only one season left until TFS.

I gues some middle ground is possible as well. We start with trying to find Immaru and convincing him to help us. In the middle of the season we succeed and Savathun is rezed and then she tells us the big news (big mid-season cutscene/reveal) and we spend the rest of the season fighting off enemies trying to prevent us from learning more. Or honestly, something entirely different. However, I definitely think they'll want to use Savathun as much as possible. She is very popular, her VA is doing an excellent job and the writing team knows that people want to hear her talk to us more.

The next season also brings a huge question for the final one, because the final season has to have something truly wild for us to do if we learn everything about the portal from Savathun in the next (and by proxy from the showcase). There are so many options for this and we really won't know anything conclusively until the showcase. I'm super excited that they went back to giving us little teases about future seasons, but not too much and not too little. Just the sheer impact of knowing that it's going to be about Savathun is a huge teaser, but we still don't know enough to say what's gonna happen and I love hearing everyone's ideas.

Swap!AU - Featuring Vash and Nai

 (Based on some fanart mun saw floating around, this is a Reverse Role AU). Nai dislikes humanity, he does not care one way or the other if humans die. His primary concern is the plants and keeping them safe. He is an independent plant and highly connected to his sisters, so it is hard to pull away from that. He loves Vash dearly, though he is not completely onboard with his idea of saving. He cannot support his cause and therefore chooses to hide. He knows Vash wants him to join him, that together their abilities could make this relatively quick and painless. Hiding from Vash has left Nai to rely on humans, though he largely keeps to himself. He travels mostly to ensure the safety of the plants that are in the care of humans. He will not hesitate to hurt someone if he finds they are hurting the plants, but he is not as unleashed as his main verse. Vash has given Nai the nickname ‘Millions Knives’ and has promoted him as a tyrant, trying to force Nai’s hand in joining him. Even so, with people hunting him, Nai has not allowed himself to submit to this. He has also been dubbed the Edged Hurricane, Knives the Storm, the Humanoid Cyclone.

As the caretaker of plants, as the one who can soothe a lot of the hardships, Vash has taken it upon himself to do just that. To save humanity, what’s left of it. He believes the only way to save humans from their everlasting suffering is to shepherd them into the end. Like an angel of death, he strikes when those least expect. He lives among the humans, at least for a time. He gains their trust, experiences their humanity, and when he feels it is time, he saves them. Slaughtering towns and cities is of no concern of Vash’s. He considers it a blessing and wishes only to save everything. Ultimately, his goal is to work alongside his brother, whom he has nicknamed Knives, to save everything. He believes that in death there will be no more suffering. No more tears, no more war, no more famine or suffering. And in the end, Nai and him can die together. Happy and content with what they have done to save everyone. In saving humanity in this way, they have dubbed him the Crimson Typhoon.

Canon Events To Explore In More Detail - Mass Effect 1

Rogue AI on the Citadel - Izzy initially tries to reason with it, which while the effort inevitably fails, it likely raises questions from the squadmates present at the time

UNC: Rogue VI - On Luna, Izzy is quick to observe that the Alliance's so-called "VI" is clearly more than what they claim, pushing towards a proper sentient AI, and will comment on this at some point while dealing with the Luna bases' defences. She will likely at least try to make an attempt to communicate. Presuming that fails and she ends up with the string of binary code from the Hannibal system in the end, she'll comment that it was a plea for 'help' before reluctantly leaving the base

UNC: The Negotiation - When sent to "negotiate" with Darius, she quickly realises that Hackett sent her with the expectation that she'd kill Darius rather than taking any of his demands seriously. Since she's not particularly happy about doing this "favour" for the Alliance, she sticks them with the consequences of their own actions, forcing an agreement by playing nice with Darius and establishing a treaty for the Alliance, which she keeps of a copy of, along with a personal log of her thoughts on the mission, and a recording of Hackett's calls, secured with Spectre-level encryptions. She fully expects someone to question her about her motives behind all this

UNC: Espionage Probe - Learning that the Alliance sent probes with nuclear payloads into Turian Space during the First Contact War comes to little surprise to Izzy, but it also pisses her off to no end, especially when Hackett clearly expects her to keep quiet on the matter, lest the Citadel Council discovers these nuclear booby-traps, as it would greatly embarrass the Alliance. As with most heavy tech focused missions, she's most likely to bring Garrus and Tali with her groundside to find, disable, and recover the probe. At some point while on Agebinium, she'll note that she's not sure whether this should be reported through the Spectre office, to Sparatus, and/or to a high ranking member of the Hierarchy directly, because she has zero intentions of keeping the Alliance's dirty little secrets, especially ones that involve nuclear warheads sent into allied territories, particularly when pirates like Elanos Haliat can take advantage of those secrets in an effort to seek revenge after the Alliance repelled assault he led in the Skyllian Blitz

UNC: Missing Marines - Izzy's far more open to helping Admiral Kahoku after meeting him in the Citadel Tower, and will go to Edolus in search of his missing unit. The resulting thresher maw, however, will lead to her near panicking behind the wheel of the mako, as she fights to keep them out of harms way while maintaining range for the main gun and cannon. Once the maw is killed, Izzy will be clearly shaken as she gets out to investigate the site of the distress beacon, and while she's quick to disable it and even begin fully dismantling it in order to load it onto the Normandy for a more detailed study, it's obvious that the encounter with the maw isn't something she's going to quickly bounce back from. Whether anyone can get her to talk about it, however, is a different story…

UNC: Lost Module - The space monkeys... Izzy quickly decides she doesn't much care for pyjaks after having to try to find the damn data module. This may lead to a non-zero number of pyjaks being ran over with the mako in the process after checking that they don't have the part of the probe they're looking for. Once it's finally recovered, Izzy is likely very tempted to blast the last group with her biotics before the squad leaves the mine they found them in
