My Opinion on;

Character in general: Jet my ABSOLUTE FUCKING BELOVED!!! He's one of my favourite characters from atla! From his intro I already knew I'd love this guy; a brown boy fighting directly against imperialism and oppression? Sign me up! His personality is so engaging as this cool, confident leader who always puts others before himself; taking in so many kids of all ages impacted from the war, giving them a new family, and even his plan to flood out Gaipan; all of his actions show his selfless desire to make sure nobody else has to suffer the way he did. And it's even further shown later where he actually takes on Sokka's criticism and tries to start over; getting food for the refugees on the boat, and even when his trauma was triggered again, his obsession with exposing Zuko and Iroh was rooted in this desperation to keep others safe and assure that the Fire Nation couldn't harm them. It absolutely breaks my heart that he came to such a tragic end (at the hands of his own nation, too), and that his perspective wasn't taken more seriously in canon.

How they play them: Raven's portrayal of Jet is such a breath of fresh air!! It's really disgusting, and frankly heart-wrenching to see just how much the fandom demonizes Jet. He's so often characterized as this sleazy, fuck-boy, blood-thirsty person with no care for others; such portrayals couldn't be further from the truth and are absolutely seeped in racism (of course it's the anti-imperialist brown boy who's demonized and sexualized to hell and back). But Raven actually understands Jet's motivations and character; she shows the depth of his care, his selflessness, his powerful drive for justice and freedom in an oppressive world, and she does the research for it as well! It makes me so happy seeing Jet's character in the hands of someone who actually cares about him, and the very issues he fights against! Every line of her writing rings true to his character!

The Mun: Raven my beloved <3 Every interaction with her ic or ooc is just an absolute delight. I've lost count of the amount of times she's made me laugh in dms, and I can always count on her to send me the best memes. It always puts a smile on my face seeing that I've got a message from her! In regards to writing, every reply is always so wonderfully written; I'm always inspired by her use of metaphor and reading her threads makes me want to better myself as a writer!

Tyler is going to come off as a bit childish and naïve at first. 

Her backstory deals with some rather dark themes and you’ll need to be level four friend to access them. Why is it you only respond to certain people right away and never post any memes?

OOC: I’m going to hope you mean this in a genuine curious way and not being sarcastic. But the answer is actually pretty simple. Certain people I have been writing with for literal years and our writing styles mesh well. 

I get inspired to write and so I do. 

The reason I use a queue for most everything else is because I can be overwhelmed easily by rapid fire responses and this is another reason you won’t see me writing crack or one liner threads. I prefer to write detailed threads and my brain struggles to reply to threads that don’t give me a whole hell of a lot to go on. 

The queue at least lets me space out my responses so I’m not staring at 14 drafts waiting on me. With the queue I have them post far enough apart that usually the biggest amount I might have at once is 4 or 5.

As for my lack of memes… Honestly, I prefer winging it through a starter call but that’s just my own personal preference. I find memes can be a bit restricting and sometimes the dash can get way too flooded for me with memes that I don’t want to add to it. It’s also why I don’t send them too often either cuz I can never remember who I sent what because I have memory issues.

I have this one partner who I have some really mixed feelings about. On one hand, their character is nice, and I enjoy writing with them, but on the other hand… They just don’t seem to care. I don’t know how else to describe it. 

First of all, while half of their replies seem perfectly okay, the other half seem to be very obviously halfassed and rushed out. They always reply to all of their numerous threads ridiculously fast, like within 20 minutes every single time, if not faster, and it’s clear they don’t proofread, even in their better-written replies. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve started scheduling every reply I write for them to post an hour or two after I write it so I have a bit of a break. They also never trim their threads, despite me showing them how to do it multiple times, and their posts often go untrimmed for so long that they end up making Tumblr lag when they pop up on my dash. I’ve started blacklisting the URLs of certain partners of theirs to stop their horribly untrimmed threads from showing up. They seem to use mobile as an excuse for a lot of this stuff, even though I’ve been primarily a mobile RPer for the last four years I’ve been on here and I know for a fact that it’s not difficult to write good replies and trim your threads on mobile. And they also CONSTANTLY reblog both shippy memes and posts about how they feel like a bad RP partner. It honestly makes me feel guilty for not shipping with them like they clearly want people to, even though they’ve never asked me about a ship OOC.

And finally, they’ve told me a couple times that they feel stressed by RP, and that they feel like they want to take a break because of how overwhelming it’s getting for them with all the threads they have piling up. And yet, they never do. They keep replying rapid-fire to all their partners, they keep taking on new threads and never dropping old ones, and they keep letting the stress build up. All they’d have to do is drop some threads that they aren’t feeling as much, tell people they’d like to focus on current threads for now instead of starting new ones, and queue their replies to post later so they don’t have to be constantly worrying about new replies piling up in their drafts. It’s not that difficult to do, and yet they just don’t seem to care enough to do it. 

I’ve tried to help, tried to provide advice- and they just won’t accept it. And although I love writing with them, it really makes me want to drop them sometimes because my dash is always a constant flood of either dash-breakingly long RP threads or pity-parties. I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to tolerate it before I either say something to them or drop them as a partner, neither of which I want to do.
