the gold watchers aren’t exactly known for their empathy or their paternal instincts — they’re demons born from greed, so why would they need anything other than that greed?

they’re used to enacting punishment on those who enter their hell portal: slashing, bludgeoning, capturing, incapacitating

they live for the indulgence, the sport, the violence

they’re in no way equipped to care for anyone for their own selfishness — let alone a child

so imagine their collective shock when you stumble into their estate

so small, so young, so innocent — how did you even get there?

either way it’s not like they can ask you — you’re terrified of their petrified forms and run whenever they move (which, granted, it must have been startling for you to notice something moving whenever you look away)

How does the reader know about him:

The reader was hanging out in a tree their tail swinging lazily when they feel a presence nearby. They hear the leave rustling but not from the wind. It’s different. They lazily open one eye just to see him hide behind a tree. They saw him but judging by his actions and presence he seems harmless. The reader lazily and slowly gets up and hops down from the tree. They walk through the forest their tail swishing and their ears twitching. They find a nice sunspot ontop of a rock and fall asleep on it. They feel a presence watching them again. They lazily open one eyes and see him watching them again. They arent threatened at all and just take a nap. When they wake up there is a dead mouse in front of them. They look around and see them watching them again. They pick the mouse up by the tail and eat it whole. Then they stand up and stretch and walk back to their house. They notice them following them everyday but dont do anything about it since they havent done anything to make the reader think he’s dangerous and they appreciate the free food aka dead animals. :)

I have actually answered this before and you can see that post here (linked) I also did a poll on it and everyone voted that I start formatting _y/n_ as y/n which I now do. So if you go to my page, all my fics starting with Roses and Sparkling Water are formatted the new way! I do really care about how my readers feel about formatting so I have started to change that. I haven't had time to go back to my old fics and change the old formatting to the new yet. However, I do like consistency, so maybe I'll try and start going back and doing one a week until they are all y/n instead of _y/n_. I'll update this post when that happens.

As for the _u/sf/d_ bits, I do that to be as inclusive as possible. I know that if I was standing in front of Hotch, I'd have to look up at him, but not all of my followers are my height. I want to make sure people feel like they can actually picture themselves in the reader's shoes and not just have it be an insert of me.
