Okay but, imagine. Oliver and Felix.
They had the 💫maze moment💫 but after Felix says the magic words (you make my fcking blood run cold) Oliver freezes. He thought Felix was mad at him but he realizes he hurt him. Oliver never thought for a second that Felix would care enough to actually be hurt by him. He not only hurt him but he is scaring him. And so, he lets go, he mutters an "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry Felix" and he's gone.
Felix is UPSET, cause after all that he can't keep denying that he's in <something> with Ollie (was? is?). And he's mad cause Ollie is right. He wouldn'v care at all about him if he hadn't been interesting enough from the beginning. How did Ollie knew him that well? How did he know what lies to tell to keep him intrested? (Doesn't this just proves how much of a good friend I actually am? How well I actually know you?)
He needs space, he needs to simmer whatever all of this is. But not tonight.
So he gets out of the maze and drinks and smokes and fucks whoever and then Duncan is waking him up, giving him some tylenol or something and taking him to his room.
When he actually wakes up is late in the afternoon, he moves instinctively to the dining room, still dizzy. When he gets there all eyes are on him. What happened? It's not the first time he passed tf out after a party. Elspeth seems upset.
After he ate and is a little bit less dead Duncan informs him that Oliver is gone. He took all his belongings and left at some point during the night or morning who knows. No one saw him leave.
Felix gets up and goes back to his room, through the bathroom and... empty bedroom. No signs of Oliver. The room was clearly recently cleaned. He opens the closet, nothing. Back to the bathroom, empty too.
Fuck.
Duncan tells him that the only thing he left behind was the costume and the black suit Felix lend him. Oh, and a blue button up that was still in the laundry room.
The rest of summer Felix tries to get a hold of Oliver but is impossible. He texts, calls and leaves voicemails, nothing. He finds the phone number of Oliver's house but when he calls Oliver's dad tells him that he's not home, he's probably back at Oxford. Felix packs and leaves Saltburn early. Back at Oxford he goes straight to Oliver's dorm, he knocks but nothing, he stats pounding the door "c'mon Ollie, I just want to talk!" he tries the knob, the door opens, the room is empty.
He learns quickly that Oliver moved. He didn't just moved rooms, nope, he moved colleges. He's gone.
That night Felix cries holding Ollie's shirt :)

Calamity@Lady Ombre: The florges approached the trio as she looked voer the small giratina "Greetings all mighty," she greeted her politley "I havent seen any gods or goddesses from my universe so im not sure how its suppose to be..." she thought out slightly before looking towards Silas "This prison...." she said lightly in thought patting her chin with hand "Why was he imprisoned? It has something to do with the young zorua...?" her gaze wondered to the collapsed zorua who still haven't moved "Right...?"
Silas's shouting had quickly melted into silence, I suppose this was a job for Calamity then!
She happily approached Lady, ready to answer her question.
Her reply was interrupted as Calamity seemed to zone off in confusion, that couldn't be right. She didn't say he could use that. There were no spirits of Giratina around beside her. A look of horror began to bleed into her expression.
There was only one person who could do that. Someone much more important than a lowly spirit, someone divine.
Reality quickly hit the spirit as she began to squirm in a panic, everything was going wrong and so quickly. "W-wait!! No! I-"
The fox raised his arm, bringing the spirit much higher. Though his face was covered it was clear he was upset, the tone of his voice was harsh and unforgiving. "I am not your Nym."
"I gave you no permission to address me as such." He growled, "Call me that again, Next time I'm going to do more than just kill you. I don't want your stupid nicknames. We are not friends and we will never be friends. I don't want to be anyone's stupid fuckin' friend, Okay? So just, fuck off. Alright!"
Instead of fighting Silas, Calamity quickly began to accept her fate, she was going to die and there was nothing she could do about it. As much as she wanted to live she didn't have the heart to fight back. Tears quickly began to fill her eyes and as she shook in terror.
The impact was rough, dust-filled but the results were clear.
Silas gave a huff, he felt nothing towards that thing's death. No sadness, no guilt, he had no connection with it. Why would he care about the death of a thing that couldn't even feel true emotions or pain? Everything she did was just an act to earn trust, a facade to seem like she was real. Something to make him care about her.
He wasn't going to fall for it.
The silence was eerie, all that could be heard was the occasional small sniffle from Silas as he stared off.
It seemed the fox's thoughts were wandering again.
"I hope you didn't want to talk to that thing, I think you should have asked a little quicker. It's much too late now." His tone was mocking, and demeaning as he leaned towards the Florges.
"I've taken down much worse than a poor little lost ghost. Just ask anyone~ I'm sure they'll tell you how much I love killing small, little helpless ghosts like you. They always like to squirm and scream."
"So, This is what's going to happen. You're going to turn around, you're going to walk away and then you're going to leave this place, alright? How does that sound, hm?"
Though he phrased it as a question, it's clear it wasn't. This was a threat, but something in his tone wasn't quite right. Something was off… there was almost a slight tremble to his voice? It was quickly covered as the fox gave a soft hum, "Well, Unless you want to find out why I was stuck in that stupid little prison, and I both think we know you don't."
"If not, I'm sure we can arrange otherwise." He grinned, even with his face covered it echoed in his voice. "We can see how quickly you can die if you'd like~"
"Maybe you can beat the bug's record? But, I doubt that, you seem like a stubborn one having stuck around this long."

A lot of Connor's peers in uni thought he was a teenage father because he would just take this tiny version of him to lectures. Six-year-old Niles was well behaved so Connor never got in trouble, but Connor hated when groups of people would go up to them trying to talk to Niles because they were rude and loud and made Niles nervous. That mixed with Connor having very little time to himself and him being at least 3 years younger than everyone else meant he had no friends in college.
Him and Niles were also pretty close until Connor was pushed to work on his career and Amanda convinced Niles he had to be better than his brother.
Connor still calls Niles 'Nines' sometimes tho, because little Niles would tell everyone he knew about the multiplying nines trick that Connor taught him, and nine is Niles' favorite number.

the so-called "progressive" fandom declaring that donating to Wikipedia is absurd while donating to ao3 is pratically sacrosanct and necessary— all while Wikipedia's donations actively fund orgs that are run by and advance the issues faced by BIPOC and other marginalized groups within STEM fields, but meanwhile ao3 openly admits that they sit on multiple millions of reserve funding that only continues to grow with zero plans on actually using any of the money for anything useful
Go post your fic on wikipedia then??? Seriously, try to do it. I'll wait.
The two sites are completely different platforms: different purposes, different audiences, different financial tiers. When they come up in the same breath, it's part of a conversation that inevitably started with someone who's pissed off at AO3's very existence trying to shame people into donating to something meaningful instead of something fun. It has nothing to do with either site's community outreach record or lack thereof, and suggesting that it does is wildly disingenuous.
On the matter of the OTW "sitting on" reserve funding, they've stated repeatedly that they've been saving this money in anticipation of funding drying up, and as that's continued to not happen they've also stated a willingness to spend that money on various improvements they need both as an organization and to the services they provide. You can check their latest vision statement, posted in July of this year, for a recent example, and there were various related questions for every candidate in this year's board elections.
If none of that satisfies you, sorry. Donate extra to Wikipedia on my behalf, and we'll each keep our favored non-profit website up and running.
