Girl when I think about Joel’s death I get so upset like genuinely SO upset I have to just stop thinking about it. I’m so emotionally attached to him it’s BAD . I want to play the second game but I’m so scared to. I don’t think I can handle seeing that shit happen to him. AND IN FRONT OF ELLIE😭😭😭

im about to yap… girl SAME, i’m so emotionally attached to that man, joel is everything to me since 2014, every time i remember he’s gone like—really gone, dead, canonically, my stomach hurts it’s not even an exaggeration😭 specially because he died thinking he had failed as a father, TWO TIMES, and i don’t care what anyone says about ellie telling him that she would TRY to forgive him a night before, like, he still died thinking she was upset to him, and she was, idc what anyone says—but that’s another story🙃

i watched the gameplay of the second game when it first came out back in 2020 and being really honest, back then i didn’t even have time to process what happened, i just saw he was murdered but like, it happened so fast i didn’t have time to process it. Last year I bought my first PlayStation and played the game… you have no idea how much i sobbed, like i’m sobbing while writing this too HAHAH, it hurt so fucking much, i had to stop playing for like 2 or 3 days, it (is) was too much💔

i hate to think he died alone, miserable, when you’re back at his house and see his frames, specially the one where he was sitting alone at the table, that one totally broke my heart😭

Lysander has never felt more seen. Not that he wasn't used to his boyfriend looking at him so intently, but this felt― more, in a way. Like Rook was looking straight through him. Despite being bundled up in his usual amount of layers, one of them being a white crochet cardigan, Lysander shivered. Ever attentive, Rook instantly looked up from behind his easel. "Are you tired, dear? We can take a break if you wish." Lysander's first instinct was to protest, but... Everyone has always told him to speak up his mind, especially Rook. "Well, it has been a while. If you don't mind..." "Why would I? It's about your comfort." Lysander nodded, then hopped down from the windowsill where he was posed on for the last half an hour. When Rook had first asked Lysander to pose for a paining, he was hesitant. Surely, there were far better subjects. Vil, for example. Vil looked like somebody who was just born to be painted. Somebody like Lysander, pale and washed out and a little bit sad, couldn't be the most exciting art subject. But Rook had insisted, and so Lysander had no choice but to agree. He still felt self-conscious, but at least Rook was being nice about it (not that he had ever expected otherwise). "Can I see?" he asked, a bit pointless, since he was already climbing into Rook's lap. "Oh! There's no way I look like that!" The painting was still far from done, but Lysander could already tell that it was going to turn out absolutely stunning. That part wasn't surprising ― he had seen Rook's work before, he knew well what his boyfriend was capable of. The surprising part was that, well... Somehow, Rook had made Lysander's face look interesting. With bright eyes and lips like sweet, summer raspberries. "But of course you do!" Rook wrapped his arms around Lysander's waist, pulling him closer, and put his chin on Lysander's shoulder. Oh. Alright. That was nice. Lysander could definitely stay like that. "You're the most radiant being in this universe. Haven't I told you that before? Or shall I tell it to you all over again?" Lysander blushed. "It's fine!" He didn't think he could survive his boyfriend fawning all over him in this exact moment. "It's just- I don't think I ever actually look so... happy." "Ah, yes, you do carry a certain air of melancholy with you. But it hasn't escaped my notice that it lessens when you're by my side." Was it really true? Lysander himself had never noticed. Well. It would make sense, he did feel less despair when they were together. "And I so do like seeing your smile. It's about, hm, the second-best thing you can do with your lips." Lysander bit down laughter. "And what's the first?" he asked, turning around. "Let's see-"

Rook caught his chin and pulled him closer into a kiss. It wasn't the most comfortable of angles, but they could make it work.
