funny story, in the last ghosted talentswap collab someone suggested biker kiyo and i've been wanting to do it since then, and then when deceit rolled which character i'm doing and what talent they will be getting, turns out i did get the ultimate biker gang leader, BUT IT'S SHUICHI HAHA🤣 which is also super fun because 1. you would never imagine shuichi being a delinquent, 2. shuichi's talent is basically in the law department while being in a gang likely involves illegal stuff so 👀

overall i'm really proud of this, shuichi looks and doesn't look like himself at the same time lol (for those of you saying shuichi's canon design is emo, no that's goth this is real emo /j) i am also never drawing a motorcycle ever again :)))) (i do want to expand on this au though, specifically adding kiyo i already have notes for him hehe)

🔍💙📖 Day 6 of @ultimateangelz's 60-follower contest: you remind me of dark blues and Shuichi Saihara (I mean, your blog's themed around him, isn't it?)!

I think this ended up basically being a Shuichi stimboard...my bad :-) But whatever! Because it still reminds me of you!

This one actually turned out really good- which is cool. I've never played any of the games, but I had a small bit of a Danganronpa phase last year. I still don't know much about the game itself, but if you asked me to name 5 characters, I could name 10 instead and I would be confident. Also, I think the game itself has a really pretty artstyle! Anyway, I hope you like this one! Loving the colors.

🩶 Keebo/Shuichi 💙

From the start they were both equally curious and interested in each other, but they were both socially awkward teens so they didn't speak to each other much.

What brings them closer together is their strong sense of justice and intellect. When intriguing situations arose, they would contemplate together and also fight to protect those they love.

Keebo always makes absolute certain that Shuichi's needs are met and takes care of him to the best of his abilities, although he can push himself a little too far in providing for him.

Keebo's empathetic but also rational nature inspires Shuichi to delve deeper into his introspective side. His empathy also encourages Shuichi to open up more.

Shuichi's emotional intelligence inspires Keebo's ability to appreciate and understand the complexities of human emotions. Shuichi isn't afraid to tell Keebo when he is incorrect about something and is more than willing to help him understand. It also helps that Keebo is always eager to request Shuichi's advice because of how much he trusts and respects him.

They both struggle with their sense of self worth, but despite their own insecurities, they make sure the other feels as secure and confident as possible.

While they express their love in similar ways, they also express differently. Protecting and providing unyielding support are actions they share, but Shuichi likes to show his affection through subtle gestures, and Keebo goes above and beyond with romantic, practical gifts for expressing his own affection.

Keebo is fascinated by Shuichi's detective stories and is very engaged when Shuichi educates him on his field, asking many questions and complimenting Shuichi's abilities.

When Shuichi is down, Keebo empathizes with him while also encouraging him to pick himself up and be strong.

They are blushing, awkward when they try flirting with each other.

Today I offer you my “shrinking motive” (popular motive for these types of stories ik), featuring tiny Kaede and Shuichi and giant Rantaro! Enjoy~

In two days, EVERY student here will die! Puhuhuhuhu!

“Everyone will die… no… it won’t end like this!” Kaede whimpered. On top of the shrinking motive, now every student was going to die. And at a measly 4 inches, there was nothing the pianist could do. She was stuck. Utterly stuck. Kaede curled up into a little ball and cried into her knees.

At least everything was set up before I was shrunk.

“Akamatsu-san?”

Kaede turned around. Out of the eight participants shrunk, Shuichi was amongst them. At least Kaede still had him.

The detective extended his hand to her and helped her off the floor. Kaede wiped her tears and put a smile over her face. “H-hi… Shuichi.”

“This motive is truly unfathomable. I can’t even begin to imagine why Monokuma would want us like this.”

“What happens if… we don’t make it?” Kaede asked.

“Don’t say that. We’ll find a way to get back to normal and stop the mastermind.”

Kaede nodded her head. “Right. I think this whole shrinking thing’s just got me all worked up. We should probably find a way to return to our normal height.”

“We also need someone to take care of us,” Shuichi added. “But who to trust…?”

I can’t stay with someone for too long. It’ll totally throw off all my plans! Kaede thought. But Shuichi will find it suspicious if we separate…

“Well it can’t be Gonta. As much as he’s a sweetheart, he might accidentally crush us if he isn’t looking,” Kaede mused.

“Kaito is definitely too rough to be able to handle shrunken students,” Shuichi stated.

“No way in hell am I trusting Korekiyo. He seems like the type of guy who would torture us just to see how we’d react.” Both teens shivered.

“How about Kirumi?” Shuichi asked.

“She’s probably too busy helping others…” Kaede trailed off. “She’d be our safest bet, but she’s definitely too far to reach.”

“Tsumugi?”

“No.”

“Fine then, what about Himiko?”

“She’ll be with Tenko, and if we go to Tenko, she’ll only take me and not you. You know how she is with boys.”

“We’re forgetting someone,” Shuichi tilted his cap downwards on his head.

“Yeah, you forgot about me.”

The pair of shrunken friends hadn’t realized it, but someone had been watching them the entire time. Kaede and Shuichi turned and saw Rantaro kneeling on one knee, his arm supporting his weight by resting on his leg. His grassy green eyes were wide with concern.

“A-ahh! A-Amami-kun, how… how much of that conversation did you hear?” Kaede asked, backing away.

“I heard everything,” the green haired boy replied. “If you guys are trying to hide, you aren’t doin’ a very good job of it.”

“Wait! Amami-kun?!” Shuichi yelled up, cupping his hands around his mouth, “can you keep us safe?!”

“You mean like… protection?” Rantaro asked, tilting his head. His hair fell over his face like blowing leaves.

“Yes!”

The giant squinted. “How do I know you two aren’t planning to kill me when I’m not looking?”

“Ugh, HOW will we do that?! Look at us! We’re 4 inches tall!” Kaede yelled up at him.

Rantaro sighed, his breath smelling of minty tea. The shrunken pair was nearly blown away.

“Fair point,” the green haired boy rumbled. He rubbed the back of his neck in annoyance, but extended a palm out to them. “Get on.”

“You… won’t hurt us, right?” Kaede asked. At the end of her statement, she mumbled, “it’d be pretty easy to get away with two kills right now…”

“Kaede!” Shuichi hissed through gritted teeth. The pianist inched away, silencing herself before hesitantly reaching out for the hand in front of her. Rantaro waited there patiently, his eyes twinkling.

“You gonna trust me?”

Kaede looked up at him and gently stepped into his hand. His palm was warm to the touch, his rings shining in the faint light. Shuichi did the same and grabbed her hand to reassure her.

“We’ll trust you.”

Rantaro began to move. Kaede held onto his finger - which could flatten her easily - as the giant brought them up to eye level.

“You guys really are small… gosh, I couldn’t even imagine bein’ all the way down there,” Rantaro mused.

Shuichi shuffled a bit. He was clearly uncomfortable. Kaede took note of this and looked ahead. “Hey; Amami-kun?! Can you do us a favor?!”

“Hmm? What’s that?” Rantaro asked, his voice deep and imposing. It was like that of a deep abyssal echo.

“Can you take us to your room for now?! I think we just need a minute to process everything!”

“Alright,” the giant answered. “Hang on tight, you two.”

And with that, he turned and walked down the hall and towards the door to outside. Kaede, though hesitant, was sure they’d be ok.

We’re counting on you, Amami-kun…

this is suuuuch a fun question yippee

toji: his entire piglet era was pretty repugnant, but he hurt himself with that first and foremost and he's in recovery now love and light

shuichi: taking advantage of/facilitating the spread of the app, which endangered literally all of tokyo and enabled the machinations of the very people who put him and all the other clones through hell, but also was inevitable so like 🤍 vriska moment + i don't think he should be judged that harshly for it. he's DEFINITELY killed someone though, almost certainly more than one person. also considering he fights with a non-app weapon, he's like, 100% severely injuring other players on a fairly regular basis but 🤍 he's allowed to do that. he gets both a girlboss pass and a 'loves his baby brother' pass, in addition to the neurodivergent and a minor card, which adds up to him being a perfect blameless darling actually 🤍. also outing claude to babs' would have been pretty fucked up if she didn't literally deserve it

duo: holy SHIT. what he puts shuichi through in faking his kidnapping through chapters 7/8, then The Confrontation & staged abandonment in 8, and then by chapter 9 exposing him as a clone to CLAUDE of all people. just like, the way he treats shuichi in the main story (and likely other loops as well if the yog dungeon loop is any indication), very deliberately manipulating his emotions, is... disturbing. all to maneuver him into actions THAT SHUICHI GLADLY WOULD HAVE DONE IF HE'D JUST ASKED. like, you examine it and you can understand where he's coming from! but the fact that he genuinely loves his brother & Does All That to Help and doesn't seem to be acting out of resentment for him at all just makes it more disturbing imo, even if it does arguably make it slightly less Morally fucked intentions-wise. like there's something about a patronizing sort of callousness, especially to that extreme, that's just like Worse to me than a callousness borne from plain old resentment. (you have to wonder who he's even modeling this behaviour from 😶). but then you think about the Genius role he's trying to emulate, and why he's trying to emulate that role and it's like... what other way was there for this to unfold lol. cainbaiting aside, there's also his tendency to set off Exceptions in populated areas, which i think would literally be a war crime, but he gets a baby pass for that one 💛. (ADDING THIS AS I WRITE BABS' SECTION) hey actually how much of what went down in chapter 8 did duo deliberately engineer

cullen: creating life frankenstein-wise alongside bertro & aisaac i GUESS 🙄. f to breke or w/e but she was literally playing house with her brothers, baby pass 💙. also she wasn't especially nice to him i GUESS, but like... from WHOM exactly is she supposed to learn the value of life lol? let alone treating the life you create with the consideration it deserves? it's obvious where she's modeling that behaviour from! baby pass, and if you say anything bad about her i kill you in real life 💙

bertro: having a frankenstein moment as well 🙄. also dropping the moon on tokyo in an attempt to permanently kill literally everyone, but like. it's quite likely memphis tennesse manipulated him into doing that, and even if not you LITERALLY cannot blame him.

avi/aisaac: frankenstein again, but aside from that. complicated question. at the very end of chapter moon, it was set up that aisaac has been like... enforcing the facility's continued control over the other Geniuses, but to my understanding, that was dropped in his debut chapter. it's still true in my heart though. but another thing that's true in my heart is that the aisaac that would have acted as the facility's enforcer isn't the same ai that the original isaac (avi) created. aside from that, he seems to have like... SERIOUSLY fucked some people up mentally? tenuous baby pass until further notice

arc: straight up war crimes! but their mom asked them to really niceys and they feel reallyyyy bad about it sooooo.... they still are willing to literally torture people outside of those circumstances but it's REALLY funny. to me. the neurodivergent and a minor card does not excuse them being catholic however :/

babalon: another holy SHIT, in much the same vein as duo's. the sheer destruction wrought on the walled-in wards aside, bc it's not clear how much of that the finishers were directly responsible for & moreover because it was inevitable/deliberately engineered by the people actually holding the cards. 😬 (edits duo's section). and also because she was right! but her manipulation of the protag and especially arc, who she had to have known wouldn't be able to bear being responsible for the destruction she was planning in addition to the destruction she had outright asked them to cause- the fact that she manipulates them for that reason, specifically to absolve them of responsibility. going so far as sacrifice azathoth- one of her other children, more helpless than either arc or the protag- specifically to unbalance them. the scene where she STABS HERSELF ON BOUNDLESS TAIL... if the protag were an actual character that probably would have been one of the MOST traumatizing things to happen to them. babs was the MOST impactful antag in the game to me, and she was horrifying as she was sympathetic. very interesting compare/contrast to duo now that i think about it.

There is a voice from around the corner. It didn't sound familiar to you. Before you got a chance to look, a girl, looking to be in her teens, walked into the area. Wearing a pastel pink dress and earrings, her muddy blonde hair tied in low twin-tails and dyed purple at the bangs and ahoge. NOT someone you recognized. She then noticed Shuichi.

"Aww, kitty!"

The girl walked toward Shuichi, slowly so as not to frighten him, and gave him headpats.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAR SHUICHI :DDD didn't draw anything last year and i have always wanted to draw fan art for forever valentine (please read it especially if you are a saiouma fan it's seriously so good i have reread it for i forgot how many times) here is singer shuichi/saishu from the fic! (hopefully the design is accurate)

speaking of songs i made a playlist using the songs mentioned in the fic and just looped it the entire time i was drawing this, so now my head is just filled with jazzy love songs (which is torture but the songs also sound really good)

Love at first sight: what's most the noticeable thing about your F/O's looked?

Shuichi: His Eyes! they're constantly changing color and it's wonderful!

Kokichi: In the canon time in the universe I'd say the bags under his eyes since he gets no sleep-

For before like first meeting, the purple in his hair, since he had to hide it during the wedding cause parents, so Candy saw some peaking out and it spiked her interest.

Hanahaik: how long did it take you to confess to your F/O?

Shuichi: Ages, or well not long after he realized but the two have known each other since five, and started dating when they were 15 so ten years hehe, a month or so after he realized

Kokichi: (Romantic universe) One long night after work when he came home and saw her sleeping in the living having tried to greet him, it just clicked.

💚 Tenko/Shuichi 💙

With Tenko's strong hatred towards men, she tried her best to steer away from Shuichi, and because of her intense hatred and overwhelming behavior in general, Shuichi was too intimidated to interact with her.

Though it takes time, Tenko grows to respect Shuichi and even looks out for his well-being when she sees the good deeds he does for others, including her. While it doesn't change her view on men in general, it does allow her to gradually get closer to Shuichi without instantly dismissing him.

Tenko enjoys learning things from Shuichi that she's unfamiliar with, seeing him as a worthy mentor (though he rarely words that out loud.)

They both desire justice, and fight towards it together in their own way.

Nobody messes with Shuichi but her. She will defend him no matter what, even if the issue is considered trivial.

Tenko vigorously trains Shuichi to master Neo Akido, and when he still keeps trying despite all his early failures (especially with her own "flare" to the art of Akido), she considers him the real deal and admires his perseverance.

Tenko has this contradictory mentality of getting upset when Shuichi doesn't make the first move to be physically affectionate (hugging, holding hands, etc), OR only allowing Shuichi to show any physical affection when she asks for it.

They are complete opposites in nearly every way, but their differences can work. Tenko's energetic and strong ways inspires him to try more things and feel more sure of himself, and Shuichi's more calm and cautious nature gets her to think more about her decisions and actions, even if she doesn't always listen (which is most of the time.)

Because of Tenko being an extremist in her beliefs, that can often cause conflict between the two, with Tenko feeling unsure a lot of the time, and leaving Shuichi feeling overwhelmed or unsure himself. He would also worry that he's not being enough for her. However, being as patient and honest as Shuichi is, he is always willing to hear Tenko out, and she always trusts him in the end. No matter what, they are both incredibly loyal to each other.

For expressing their love, Tenko offers Shuichi to train with her and teach him how to defend himself. She also likes traditional romantic gestures like holding hands, taking walks together, but only when they are alone together and when she offers to do so first. Shuichi shows his love through more subtle acts like lending an ear, expressing his vulnerabilities to her and allowing her to do so in turn, and giving general helpful advice.
