Ok lol so, cards on the table, the reason I went with making Rantaro Kamakura for the au is because I had absolutely no other ideas for him. I love all the V3 kids (despite how much I’ve put them through in the au lol), but Rantaro is just one of those characters I never think about.

He’s barely in V3 before being killed, and he doesn’t have a real ultimate talent so there wasn’t anything to draw from for a remnant concept. His only personality traits seemed to be being laid back and vaguely mysterious, so he just doesn’t stick to my brain the way the others do.

Full on, my only other potential concept for him was just to have him figure out what Junko was doing too early and having her kill him. Him being Kamakura is obviously wayyyy better, so once I had that direction for him I stopped coming up with any other ideas for a remnant Rantaro.

Sorry that that’s probably not the kind of response you were looking for, but I just flat out have no ideas for that man lol. Thank you for all your love and support for the au though!💕

The killing game ended ages ago but it felt like it was only yesterday

All the death.… all the trials… have stuck in your head and it never leaves

Rantaro knew you hadn’t stopped thinking about the experience and the fear that came with it

Normally he would comfort you when those thoughts came up…

But right now…

he… isn’t here…

“where are you…?”

You looked all around your home yet you still can’t find him

The thoughts of the killing game started to overcome every other thought you had, including where your boyfriend was

To you… he was gone…

you was hyperventilating and looking around the room frantically

Everything got too much so you just sank down to the floor

It felt like you was there again..

“no…no…no…”

you started to hallucinate…

The room you was in started to look more like the trail grounds

You hyperventilating so much that you almost passed out until you heard something loud

It sounded so real…

then you started to hear a voice

it was muffled for a bit but then it got more clear as you focused on it

“…by? baby? Can you hear me?”

you look up to see Rantaro who had a concerned look on his face

he realised you were staring at him with watery eyes

your breathing was still as rapid as it was before but you were starting to calm down

he reached for you hand and squeezed it to let you know he was there

“I’m not leaving you… I promise” he whispered to you as he rub his thumb against your palm

he held your hand tighter as he lifted it to his chest

“try and copy my breathing, baby…”

he took slow and deep breaths and you followed his actions

you was finally calm after about 4 minute, you was still a little shaky but calm none the less

he gave a soft smile as he picked you up and placed you down on your bed

you could feel the warm blankets be pulled over you as he got in the bed too

rantaro pulled you close to him and gently kissed your forehead

“We will never be trapped in that place again… sleep well, my dear”

OH JEEZ THAT TOOK LONGER TO MAKE THAN EXPECTED— SORRY 💀💀💀
