Mizuki and Date though like. Imagine being 8 and your parents are filthy rich and going through a bad divorce. Your mom treats you like shit, lashing out at you, hitting you, saying she wishes you were never born all because you were behaving like a child. Your dad is more comforting, but he doesn’t do anything to stop the abuse and he spends his time invested in a completely different family, a girl who you love and look up to but he loves her more than you and it fucking shows. Then your dads new friend, some fucking bachelor in his late 20s, is just like "wow you guys are the worst fucking parents ive ever seen" and next thing you know your dad is sending you off to live with him. And it’s just a massive kick in the head cuz you go from a rich lifestyle to living in some really shitty tiny ass apartment with this guy who’s clearly never been around a child in his entire life and he doesn’t know how to behave and does a really bad job of censoring himself like he has a bunch of dirty magazines that he can’t hide very well cuz it’s literally a studio apartment and also he talks to himself sometimes, it’s really weird. He doesn’t even have the slightest clue what he’s doing

And he’s the best parent you’ve ever had

Because fuck, it all really hurts. You have to cope with having never received any love from anyone, and with the fact that your parents clearly don’t want you and can’t even be bothered to send you with anyone even kinda responsible. And this guy has a scary job with crazy hours and you don’t know anything about him and neither does he. But still, he never once hits you or tells you you’re not allowed to cry. He just gives you space and doesn’t push you to feel any sort of way about him. And sometimes, he’s even kind. He makes you some stew, even though it’s a bit chunky. He lets you sleep in the bed and takes the couch for himself, even though he complains about the massive back pain he’d never trade his spot for a second. He pays attention to events at your school and gives you your favorite stuffed animal when you make good grades, even though you called it ugly. He gets worried sick when you come home with bruises and puts on a goofy voice and trains you to defend yourself and you develop some highly deadly skills and even though it’s really abnormal, he buys you a bench press so you can get stronger. There’s this distance there, and you feel really weird caring about someone who you aren’t related to, but you find yourself wishing it was meant to be like this all along, that maybe, he’s secretly your real dad and he loves you like his real daughter

Okay, you know what, I need to channel certain anxiety goth demon here for a moment and hype certain angel who happens to be abysmal at human magic tricks and likes collecting old books, because I feel like even the people defending Aziraphale are not giving him nearly enough credit or agency.

You know who actually came up with the idea (on the fly, I might add) that saved Job's children?

The Marvelous Mr. Fell, that's who.

Sure, Crawly/Crowley was always planning to spare them, but Aziraphale is the one who suggests that maybe Bildad the Shuite is an expert on human births. You know. Like the one that happened in the Garden of Eden. *wink wink nudge nudge*

He's the one who sneaks the salamander children into Job's robes.

He's the one who changes them back at the right moment.

He's the one who lies to Gabriel to seal the deal.

Between the two of them, during the bullet catch sequence, Aziraphale is the calm one. He's actually more calm about Crowley pointing a gun at his face than he is when he initially walks onto the stage by himself. And he continues to be calm even when Furfur directly threatens both Crowley and himself. He stays calm, and he switches the picture and saves them both.

Aziraphale read all of Agnes Nutter's 4000 prophecies in less than a day, annotated everything, figured out where Adam was, who he was, where Armeggedon was happening, and even charted things out on maps, entirely on his own.

He also researches the rumors about Everyday showing up on the Jukebox in the Resurrectionist Pub, and figures out that Gabriel was on Earth preforming a miracle in company with someone else. He runs out of time to connect the rest of the dots, but really, his sleuthing skills with newspapers and books are off the charts.

Edit (I forgot one and it's one of my faves): We also see how competent he is when he's getting ready to host the ball. He knows how to get what he wants from people. If he can't win them over by just being nice, he knows exactly what to tempt offer in order to get them to agree. Crowley is just following him around like :O!!! Because watching the bae actually being good at stuff is attractive entertaining!

AND perhaps most tellingly of all, when Crowley plays the part of Aziraphale during the switch, he's so SO brave. He's collected. He's polite. He holds his head up and walks into the fire.

Aziraphale is so smart! He's courageous! He keeps his cool under pressure! That is the way that Crowley sees him, and Crowley is the person who knows him best!!

We don't know why Aziraphale chose to leave with the Metatron, yet. But even if he was completely tricked (which I personally sort of doubt), it definitely wasn't because he's dumb and doesn't know what's going on around him.

sometimes i think about penny turner and how much she must love her brilliant, beautiful son, her only child, and how proud she must be of him, but how much she must've worried about him too over the years (and probably still does sometimes) and then i cry a little 🥺

like, we know alex and his mum (both his parents actually) have a great relationship and they love each other very much, so i have no doubt that she's so very proud of alex for how hard he works and how driven and talented he is, so proud of everything he's achieved, knowing how much he and his creations mean to a huge number of people

but then also, how could she not worry about him, knowing that yes, he is living his dream, but he's also flying all across the world every few years, a different city every night, performing to the point of exhaustion, only to have to come up with the next big thing all over again? that's a lot of pressure on his shoulders, even if he does share a lot of it with the rest of the band. and alex handles it admirably of course, but still, if even i worry about him sometimes, i can't imagine how it must be for his mother (and father, of course, all of this probably goes for him just as much)

i also think about how she must have felt when alex moved to the usa, and how relieved she must've been when he decided to move back to the uk/europe, to have him closer again. and i wonder how she must've felt watching all those different personas and eras he created appear and disappear, maybe sometimes fearing he'd lose himself somewhere along the way, but still always seeing her boy underneath it all. i'm sure she's gotten used to it to some extent, but it must still be overwhelming sometimes, seeing all the hype and the scrutiny and the expectations and the temptations he has to deal with, especially knowing better than anyone how special and sensitive he is deep down. i can imagine she wishes she could protect him while at the same time knowing he's a big boy now, and he was always destined to make his mark on the world in a way that required him to spread his wings and leave the warm nest she'd created for him

and then i think she must also be so grateful to know that he's always got his best friends with him when he's on the road, to support him and share the load, and that he has so many more friends who adore him and always have his back, and how much of a reassurance that must be and then I just 😭😭😭😭 you know? 🥺

-- It makes sense that both Max and Charles are good at Bronc/Bull Riding. One of them has always been good at holding on when things get tough and the other has always had problems letting go of things

- At first Charles didn’t mind losing out because the prize money for second place is enough. However, after overhearing a conversation between max and his father about “the wimpy kid in second” he’s made it his life’s mission to not only buy his mama a farm house with a wrap around porch like she always wanted, but to crush his stupid fucking, asshole rival and his beautiful blue eyes into the dust.

- The first thing Charles noticed about Max was how he couldn’t keep still. The second was how intense the eye contact was from across the dirt arena. And how strange it made him feel.

-- Both Charles and Max know how to square dance and swing (living in Texas core) Sometimes to cheer Charles up, Max will make Charles dance with him

- Charles is more broody than Max in this au, I just kind of envision him as a sweet but unapproachable cowboy at the bar

Just Max

- Max’s horse is named Bullseye

- Max talks to his horse and is CONVINCED he can understand him

- Max, despite what you may first think, has a good voice, and enjoys singing working songs to pass the time when he’s alone on the plain

- Max’s favorite ranch hand was Daniel, a high spirited man who left for Iowa to compete in bull riding at a higher level. Having failed at that, and having broken his bones and spirit in the process he returns to the Rising Sun Ranch much more solemn, and often takes the night shift with the herds

- Max had a lonely childhood, either being out with a herd as form of punishment or being pushed to his limits by his father

- While he was alone he invented games to keep himself entertained, often just games for himself but once Charles enters the picture he modifies them to involve two players

Just Charles

- Charles red boots were a gift to him from his father, originally embarrassed to wear them due to them not being a typically cowboy boot color he now would give up his life before giving up his boots, haven taken up mending them himself whenever he can to keep that connection to his father

- Charles ranch is called the Caballo Encabritado Ranch

- Charles’s horse is named Enzo

I love the idea of Ken and Din/Lue in Chains of Heart because it's just so messed up and doomed with lots of love destiny along the way.

I mentioned Cherry Magic, Manner of Death and 1000 Stars before but if you count Your Name Engraved Herein as a BL then I actually watched that one first. I only managed to watch it once in its entirety because it destroyed me for days. I can't even listen to the title song without starting to cry. One of the saddest and most beautiful movies there is.

⭐ favorite veteran

Saint Suppapong because he's quite literally an angel. The man's been exploited, shunned, slutshamed and wrongly accused when he's nothing but kind and professional. Instead of turning his back on an industry that treated him horribly he decided to build his own production company from the ground up in order to make the content he'd like to see with actors he'd like to support along the way. He probably single-handedly propelled GL into Thailand's (socmed) mainstream by taking a huge financial risk to make GAP. And on top of it all he's broken into the mainstream himself as a popular primetime actor. I love Saint Suppapong so, so much and I wish him all the success in the world. 🙏

i have been really trying to interact more fandom-wise like i did when i was much younger. about 10-12 years ago, i took to lurking and stayed on the outskirts of fandom due to anxiety and other things but i miss interacting SO MUCH. so i have been pushing myself to reach out, talk about my experience in any given fandom, leaving comments on fics and art, shamelessly reblogging, replying to people's posts, and even trying to send more asks.

i still feel low key insecurity about it, like im a bother or what i have to say is not worth anything, but i am determined to keep it up.

Wrecker would sit and listen to one of Techs rants about some science stuff. He’d be lying down on his bunk, fidgeting with something probably, and Tech would seem a little antsy on his own bunk. Tech’s lips would be set in a thin line, like he was eager to say something. Wrecker, being bored and not really being able to do anything at the moment, would ask Tech what’s up. Tech would practically explode with information, talking fast and gesturing excitedly at the opportunity to share some of his fun facts about the universe. Wrecker would be taken off guard for a moment, then would smile and listen. He wouldn’t understand most of it, and probably wouldn’t really be that interested in it, but he would listen. At some point he’d start getting into it too, asking questions. Tech would seem more and more excited each time he asked something, though sometimes he’d get exasperated depending on the question. Nevertheless, he would still answer it, then move on to the next fact he felt like he needed to share. Eventually, Tech would start to calm down, having gotten what he felt like he needed to off his chest. He would clear his throat, mutter a small “thank you for listening,” then try to move on with his day. He would feel a little guilty for bothering Wrecker with all of that, he knew his brother didn’t understand half of it, and was likely bored out of his mind by it. But before he could beat himself up about it anymore, Wrecker would get up from his bunk, then give his brother one his famous secure hugs. Tech would flinch, surprised by the sudden contact, then lean into it and hug wrecker back. Wrecker would laugh in his booming voice and say something along the lines that even if he didn’t understand what all tech says, he would always listen when he needed it.
