Endless hell that is nail/skin thats uneven but everyime you pick at it or even clip it nicely to make it smooth and not uneven it gets worse and worse 😭
#dullblogging#i need to follow my own advice but#slapping a bandaid on it to prevent feeling it is my usual fix if anyone else also suffers this#i hate feeling like im 'wasting things' and am always sparing with bandaids#but have had to stop caring about that for this#and frankly its a good use of bandaids to not be a bloody mess

idk what nail biter needs to hear this but do not start messing with your cuticles, you will never recover from it
#:(((((#when i was younger i wasnt even a biter. i just picked my nails short#but then i evolved to biting somehow at some point#and then now its biting and cuticle destruction#my fingers are always bloody and im having to constantly swap out bandaids but nothing ever heals because whenever the skin comes back the u#the urge to tear it off is too strong#and then it gets to the point where your hands literally change shape and do not go back#like the skin on my right thumb is an entirely different shape than my left thumb. i cannot remember the last time it was smooth and normal#it makes you feel so self conscious about your hands its awful#all i want is pretty hands#at one point i forced myself to grow my nails out and i managed like. two weeks!!!! which was huge#since ive been biting nonstop for years#and i painted them and everything#but when they got too long i imemdiately reverted to biting instead of just clipping them#anyways. all that to say#if you are just a biter? do not evolve to the next stage#leave your cuticles the way they are im begging you#cathy says words#nail biting

Swiffers, I just broke my thumb nail so far below the quick and I haven’t done that in a while and I am in so much pain.

🤞there's some screamin' laptop deals for memorial day/father's day coming up cause my laptop's been on its last leg for like over a year and its questionable if it'll run every time I boot it up
#at this point I don't even think it's on its last leg#it's more like its on its last like idk bloody and battered big toe#I know this was a common issue esp w/windows 10 (cursed fckn operating system)#I've been able to like... bandaid it together and keep it running for so long#I just think it's ready to give up the ghost#and I desperately don't want to lose 3k worth of work that I have been able to do for the first time in over a year#I back everything up obvs it just suuuucks#I remember it tried to shit out on me when I was writing one of my other march.ly fics and I had like a full on melt down cause it was#like one of my long ass chaptered fics and I had finally finished it and got it all edited and had my summary laid out and all the notes#like I had it allllll ready to go for AO3. I put alll that stuff in the doc so I can just copy & paste#and it like fuckin crapped out and I had like 75 mini heart attacks#I was lucky. I got it back up and the doc was still open and I hadn't lost anything. but man. I don't think I'm gonna get lucky again#but it sure is showing signs of taking a crap again 😞#erin explains it all
