fic writer interview @nevermindirah tagged me! Thank you, Happy New Year :3
I'm tagging @thana-topsy @baratrongirl @amazinmango @raindrop-rouge, but only if you want to, no obligation.
How many works do you have on AO3?
83.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
1,369,970
There you go, substantially more than a million words, for the sheer love of it.
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Fuck: My Life Nearly 190k of eruriren porn star AU. Of course it's my top fic.
These Weren't Memories ereri canonverse, written after the first season. It's old, and I don't like all of it, but it's a classic of the ship as I tried to make it work as close to canon as I could.
Neither Tarnished Nor Afraid ereri, and the first true AU I ever wrote. It's a weird police procedural, and I think it's up there just because it's old and has had more time to accumulate kudos to be honest.
The Beneficent Gentleman Finally a non-snk fic. Kingsman, hartwin, and my only epistolary story, loosely based on the novel Daddy Long-Legs, and I'm quite proud of how it turned out.
Flight (When None Pursueth) And we're back to ereri; it was just the biggest ship I ever sailed. This was my serious take on a reincaration AU, and it was not fluffy.
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Usually I do now, but back in the heyday of the SNK fandom I rarely did, cause there were just a lot of them. I responded to long ones or ones that asked a question. I also think the culture has changed on it too; ten years ago it was much less expected for authors to respond to generic 'i liked it!' comments, but as comments have dried up overall, it's become more common.
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
If There is a Cure Skyrim fic. Delphine/Dragonborn, and there is no happy ending.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
95% of all my other fics tbh.
7. Do you write crossovers?
I don't enjoy crossovers. I wrote one tiny Ojisan to Neko/Persona 5 fic that probably would have been funnier as fanart, but I can't draw.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Ooh yeah, back in the day on ff.net in the early 2000's I had a guy get all caps on me cause I paired the PC of a game with an older woman, and a few others that were clearly designed to sap my confidence, presumably because I was writing the wrong ship.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes. Consensual.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I'm aware.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yeah a few times. Very flattering. I even had a translator pass on translated comments once.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes but it's rare. Honestly I've only ever met one person with whom I really clicked as a collaborator. That was a long time ago, and we do very different things now. It's fucking magic if you can find the right person though.
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Ereri is not my current interest, but it really was something special. I sometimes wonder if I'll ever write like it's 2014 again...
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I don't have one. The only fic I never finished I abandoned completely.
15. What are your writing strengths?
Description; I can do a lot with few details.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Sloppy editing, repetitive phrasing, (a symptom of the former) and the pacing on long serialised fics can get very baggy.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Keep it to a minimum. If you don't need it, don't use it. It's more trouble than it's worth (I'm wearing my reader's hat for this one; my eye will just skip over it.)
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Morrowind.
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
There isn't one. I've missed fandom a lot over the past few years, and if I'd wanted to write something I would have.
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
My Old Friend. It's barely a fic, really. A man goes back to his hometown to bury his abusive uncle and reconnects with the father of his childhood friend, on whom he had a powerful but obviously unrequited crush on as a teenager. I had to string together a bunch of unrelated prompts as part of an event, and it just turned out really well. I'm proud of it.

we can stop if you need to, okay? [ Daehyun -> Himari ]
consent is sexy・❥・@dencesin ( closed ! )
Himari nodded, her eyes avoiding his for a moment simply because she feared she might come just from that alone. She became ultra sensitive whenever they got intimate and did not think of it as something bad or worrisome. Yet the young woman knew that Daehyun worried about her in general and was indeed a gentleman who cared more for her wellbeing than his own. So while sitting right in his lap, eager to continue rolling her hips, they still took their time to have this conversation. And she loved him even more for it. "Thank you, ojisan. But right now, all I want is to feel you. And you feel so good." Ah, maybe Himari needed to drop the ojisan for now so Daehyun could ease his mind as well. "I mean... oppa..."

unprompted.   >   @falseapostle
He wasn't going to just invade her space without bringing her a thank you gift, so Haruto shows up at Streli's door with a bouquet of flowers, sporting hydrangeas, peach roses, and yellow Peruvian lilies in one hand. A subtle gift of gratitude, not likely to be taken well. And in the other a bottle of high-quality wine and box of cordial cherries. Not likely to make either of them drunk but probably still enough to be more appreciated than the flowers. And if nothing else, the wine could at least help her unwind a little. God knew how tense she must have been after everything that had happened in the past few days.
"Thank you again for this," He said, just as she opened the door. "I appreciate your taking me in for the night."
Tumblr media
“ holy crap. ” maybe not the best kind of WELCOME, effectively the worst -- but strelitzia simply wasn’t prepared for FLOWERS and gifts. but she recognizes the smells, the colors and the types, the way they’re bound together. it’s refreshing, it’s colorful, it’s warm. it’s GRATITUDE.
“ you didn’t need to go out of your way to get all that ... ” but she’s grateful in return, nonetheless. she takes the weights away from him, stepping into the penthouse and leaving the door open, so he may enter. “ i’ll have to find a good vase for those. ” getting flowers ... that was rare. gifts, she wasn’t used to those. there’s a uniqueness in it. something holy about it.
Tumblr media
“ you can stay AS LONG AS YOU’D LIKE, i don’t mind company. the place is big anyways. ” she cuts the ends of each stem, delicate in her procedure. “ i know stuff’s kind of CHAOTIC right now. i empathize with that. it’s good to have a place where you can sit down during these times. i hope you can find that here. ”
she looks back at him, quiet for a moment. analyzing. she knows that usually, a HOST would try to make the place warmer for a guest, especially one that stays the night. she knows she should be ACCOMODATING, maybe open that bottle he brought. make some food. but ...
“ are you alright ? ”

The sound of your alarm blared at the crack of dawn, making you immediately jerk up in an unfashionable manner, you shouldn’t drink on Sunday nights. Good lord,  why did you even do that?-
Your thoughts are cut short though when you feel something, better yet, someone, next to you. It’s dark but you could definitely tell that whoever this stranger is, had settled himself quite comfortably by your side. You blink once then twice then slowly reached out to switch your lamp open to get a good look on who was next to you.
Thankfully, you’re still in your clothes from last night.
Also, who the fuck is this?
Your brows are furrowed together as you try to remember who this person was. Blonde hair and jaw so sharp that it could probably cut the vegetables on your kitchen counter, some fine lines littered his face as he wrinkled his forehead in his sleep.
The tie on his neck is loose as you slowly peered to observe him even more and for some odd reason that made your ears turn bright red as you check out his rather lean figure (he wasn’t overly muscular, he was just right)
“Oh shit.” You mumbled, snapping out of your daze, you had to focus! This was a stranger for crying out loud, “Who the-”
Before you could even say anything more, his eyes shot open and you’re greeted by chocolate brown eyes. You try to stutter out a reply, clearly in your frazzled state the only thing you could let out was, “What the fuck?”
“Oh, you’re awake.” his voice was deep and quite raspy, and daresay, it suited his rather sharp appearance.
Was this stranger awake this whole time that you were gawking at him under the dim light? Your ears turn even a brighter shade of pink. Was it just the heater or was this room getting hotter than it should be?
Yet despite your flustered state though, he thankfully remains oblivious, “Are you feeling any better?” he asks.
Despite his bland facial expression, there was a certain warmth in his tone and that made your heart beat quicken. It wasn’t everyday that you’d wake up to find a good looking older gentleman next to you after all, “I’m good…” You shyly replied, the confidence you had moments ago while you were cursing him was gone when you heard his soft tone, “I- sorry but who are you? What happened?”
He stares at you for a moment and purses his lips, “Nanami Kento.” he introduces himself briefly. From the likes of it, he seemed like a professional, “To be honest, I don’t have much recollection from last night due to the alcohol. When I woke up a few moments ago, you wouldn’t let go and I had no choice but to lay there and wait for you to wake up.”
You paled just a bit at his explanation and turned bright red right after, how embarrassing! Not only did you just embarrass yourself in front of this older gentleman awhile ago, you did something so unlike you last night! Thank god this ojisan was a lot more calmer than you. He didn’t even look that perplexed or annoyed by your state at all.
He runs his hands through his soft blonde hair after and lets out a low groan.
“D-Does your head hurt, Nanami-san?”
“Yes.”
“I-would you-” you tried to stammer a few words out yet you're immediately cut off by his phone ringing.
Right, boundaries. You shouldn’t overstep them since you already did so much last night to disturb him despite you two being so out of it. You watch him as he answers his cell phone in a quick and suave manner, all traces of hungover gone, “Nanami speaking.” He greets as soon as he answers the call, “I understand. Please try to help them out and I apologize for the inconvenience.”
He ends the call and stands up, tightening his tie. Despite him spending the night here, he still looked orderly and it’s so unfair because right now, you knew you looked like absolute shit with the alcohol and booze in your system.
“I have to take my leave now. I apologize for intruding.” he bows down formally.
You’re pretty sure you were the one who intruded, his actions makes you immediately stand up despite the throbbing headache which was definitely a wrong move because the moment you did, you felt your legs giving out.
Great.
“I-sorry, I would bow…” You tried to stammer out an apology, ears bright red once again, just how much could you embarrass yourself in front of this gentleman?  “Sorry for the intrusion too Nanami-san.”
He leaves without saying anything much to your relief and as soon as you hear your front door close, you scream right at the pillow.
“Stupid, stupid, stupid!” You muffled at the pillow.
Thank God you wouldn’t be seeing him ever again!

“L/N-sensei.”
You turn to find Maki and Megumi standing there, they were members of a rather elite family in Tokyo, Most often you avoided bumping shoulders with Megumi’s father since he was, well, quite a tease and although you do admit that Toji Zen’in is a very good-looking and fine man from a very good background, you couldn’t look past the fact that you taught his kids mathematics and there was a good fifteen year age gap between you two, “Hi there.” A warm smile dances on your lips, “Is this about the earlier math problem again?”
The question was directed to Maki, Megumi wasn’t one to ask questions about his lessons since he wasn’t fond of academics.
“Actually, it isn’t. Toji-ojisan says you should come to his birthday.” Maki shrugged, “He says his 40th birthday wouldn’t be complete if you weren’t there.”
Ah, that’s why Megumi didn’t want to go alone. The young boy’s cheeks are painted pink, clearly embarrassed by his father’s antics, “Ah,” You laughed, trying to play it cool. Despite his father’s relentless teasing, he had never made you feel uncomfortable. If he hadn’t been asking you out a few times, you’d consider him a friend, “Your otosan does love to joke around a lot doesn’t he, Megumi-kun?”
“I could deck him for you if you’d like, sensei. I swear that old man needs to realize that you’re way too young and good for him.” He mumbles the last part, clearly annoyed.
“Oh have you gotten married, L/N-sensei?” Maki cuts her younger cousin off suddenly, clearly surprised, “I thought you never had a boyfriend..or girlfriend...or a lover…”
“I- excuse me?” You sweatdrop, “Married, where?”
“Am I mistaken? You have a silver band on your ring finger at your left hand.” Maki points out, “Congrats sensei! It seems like Toji-ojisan won’t be bothering you anymore!”
You were too much in a frazzled state this morning that you hadn’t even noticed the ring band on your finger. You weren’t married, heck, you haven’t dated since college but where in the hell did you get this ring?
“L/N-san?” You’re snapped back to reality by a coworker, “We have two new enrollees, would you mind handling them since they’ll be added to your section?”
“Right,” You smile, “That’s my cue to leave. I’ll get going now. Enjoy your snack time.”
Before Maki could say anything more about the silverband on your ring finger, you scurried away to the faculty room, shaking that weird feeling off since you had to get back to work.
Job first, ring later.
As you went in, two abnormally bleached pink hair stood out and you could immediately tell that they were going to be the new kids that you’d be teaching. You walk closer, realizing how much they looked alike despite the markings on the other.
“Hi, Good morning.” You greeted kindly, “You must be the new kids.”
“Ah,” the one with tattoo markings on his face gloated, “Aren’t you too bright?”
“Sukuna, shut up.” his twin frowned, “Sorry Sensei, My brother isn’t feeling so well since our ojisan had told us off before going to school.”
It seemed like the other twin would be a handful, nevertheless, you were still going to be his teacher so you let out a small smile, “It’s fine.” You waved off, “We all have bad days, don’t we? I’m L/N-sensei and I’ll be your homeroom and math teacher.”
“Hai.” The one without tattoos replied, enthusiasm leaking on his tone, “Itadori Yuuji and this is Itadori Sukuna, please take care of us.”
You watch Yuuji force his twin to bow down to show a sign of respect. For a high schooler, Sukuna and Yuuji’s parents seemed so lax, bleached hair and tattoos? That was definitely a first one on your list. You take a look at the data they passed and a small frown settles on your lips, it seemed like you had to take back the words you said earlier.
Both their parents had died a few years ago.
You cleared your throat and tried to put on the smile and enthusiasm from earlier, “I’ll be sure to introduce you to the class right after break and since it’s your first day I’ll be lax but please try not to go in late again.”
Yuuji’s grin remains the same as he agrees enthusiastically while Sukuna still looks mildly uninterested, something that you realize oh-so quickly that you’ll have to get used to.
After introducing the twins to the class, you settle on your desk at the faculty and peer at the ring on your finger. The only conclusion you could come up with was that this was from the older gentleman from the night before but why would he even give you a ring?
It didn’t even look cheap and it was surprisingly just your size, meaning it was definitely for you.
You inwardly let out a groan as you placed your hand on top of your eyes. God, you definitely needed to lay off the alcohol next time. You feel the phone in your pocket start to ring, peerlessly glancing at the unknown number. People really need to lay off the scam calls.
“Hello, I’m sorry I’m not-”
“Yo-ho, is this Y/N-chan?” The voice on the other line is so unfamiliar yet familiar at the same time.
“Uh, who is this?”
“Is your husband with you?” the voice sounds so playful and teasing that you almost ignore what he had just said earlier.
“E-Excuse me?” You sputtered out, cheeks turning red, “I don’t have a husband.”
“Huh…” the playful voice switches to disappointment, “Don’t tell me you forgot what happened with us last night, L/N-chan.”
You feel something bubbling on your stomach, oh no, this definitely didn’t sound good!
“I- wait, what? who are you? What do you mean? what happened?” countless of questions started to pile up in your head and out of your mouth, panic immediately engulfing you because for a prank call this guy sounded way too legit, confirming your irresponsibility the night before.
“Silly Y/N-chan. How could you ever forget me? I’m such an important person! I’m Gojo Satoru, your witness from your wedding!”

Do you think that Mr. Compress should have been canonically referred to as a DILF or PG equivalent? Unless that's what 'Ojisan' means
I would love to see Mr. Compress referred to as a DILF in canon. Just open up the manga and see it right there in the page. Someone horny for him, clear as day, stating it outright.
Tumblr media
sadly, i think that’s a bit too risqué for shonen manga. :(
‘Ojisan’ in Japanese just means ‘uncle’, as in your mother or father’s brother. As is common in some cultures, the term can extend to any older/middle-aged adult man, even one not related to you. It’s just a title you can call someone, and depending on context, it can have similar vibes as ‘hey mister’ or ‘old timer’ or ‘gramps’ in (American) English, and can be neutral or insulting or teasing. Aizawa can be an ojisan; All Might; Moonfish; Stain; Trumpet; anyone, depending on how polite or not you wanna be when addressing them?
Ojisan is usually used for men ages 40-60, Mr. Compress can quality at age 32 because compared to the rest of the League (wild punks in their early 20s), he’s significantly older. At the same time, he’s 32-years-old, but calls himself ‘ojisan’ like ‘old/mature/worldly gentleman that have little in common with these young whippersnappers’ when there are moments he talks and acts his age - still a youngish adult, only semi-established in his career, hungry like a broke millennial eager for free food and alcohol.
So he’s not exactly considered an ‘ojisan’, that’s just the gentleman image he cultivates lol. And neither is he a ‘classic(?)’/ideal(?) DILF, unless you wanna see him as an unmarried early 30s guy who accidentally fathered a kid with his ex a few years ago and tries his best but he’s got no mortgage and might still be waitering while following his dream to try to make it big in the entertainment biz and feels awkward and immature at PTA meetings if he even goes to them? That’s the dad part. my take tho.
Then again, the average age of parents having their first kid in HeroAca is around 25-years-old so maybe he can be a DILF had he not become a Villain and instead followed the norm.
So i guess no, he shouldn’t be referred to a DILF in canon, unless it’s for a great sitcom joke.
Thanks for the ask!!

Inari’s Den
Chapter 6: Union of Clans
To say I was uncomfortable was a bit of an understatement, but standing in front of the people of a village my family almost razed to the ground, was a bit nerve wracking. I could feel the hate and anger pouring over me. I glanced at Yamaguchi-sama and she just looked even angrier than they did. After our encounter two weeks ago, she refused to be in contact with me again. I understood her anger and I also respected it. My parents were angry that I did not push for more contact, but she deserved the space. Jin wandering around did not make me feel good. My father was not too pleased about it either, but my mother still had no idea about what he had done. I could only wonder how long we could keep it from her.
A shuffling by side made me turn and smile. Shino-san had decided to stay by my side, but as it would turn out, she was also close friends with Yamaguchi-sama. They had an emotional reunion, but she felt betrayed that Shino-san had stayed with me. The pair did not speak to each other the entire time. I could only guess that they had ended their friendship over it. “Are you alright Shino-san?”
“Ah yes...I should be asking you that Igarashi-sama...I know this is going to be hard.” She smiled gently at me and I sighed as I looked over the angry crowd.
“Yes, but I expected that...I really think you should speak with your family. They will understand if everything you told me about them is true.”
“......” I left her to her thoughts as the current head of the Yamaguchi clan concluded his speech. To try and keep the peace with the clans, I offered to help the people rebuild and figure out ways to help them prosper again. My father thought it was a poor idea and Jin just looked annoyed about the whole thing. My mother was the only one on board with the whole thing, if it kept some peace then it was a good idea.
“Hey come on…” I looked over as Yamaguchi-sama looked up at me with an annoyed grimace. I had really hoped that I could try and make some sort of progress with her. I knew that certain things could not be changed, but I was hopeful that I could make this work. Love was completely off the table, but if a mutual understanding could be reached, then maybe this would be alright.
“Yamaguchi-sama I-”
“Stop...you call my parents that...call me by something more distinct. I’m getting sick of hearing it.”
“If that is what you wish…” She looked ready to say something, but she rolled her eyes instead and we walked into the village. Looking over the destruction, my heart twisted as I watched children cling to their mothers, and the elderly shuffled slowly over their ruined homes. I would do what I could to help, but I’m sure they would not take any help from me if they had the choice. They needed more help than my village and people, and my brother was mostly to blame for that. Jin really did have a destructive and violent personality. I would have hoped that he grew out of it eventually, but with everything that had happened I was sure that it would never change.
“Lady Izumi…” She turned quickly to glare at me, but she coughed a bit uncomfortable at her title, before she just folded her arms. “I’m just wondering where you would like me to start?”
“You can help the elderly with their homes...they need the most help right now.” I nodded and left, and I could feel her eyes on my back. The villagers gave me a wide berth of space as I set out to pick up debris and a nearby broom.
“I’d rather you didn’t “help”.” I looked up as an elderly gentleman leaned against his cane, and his wife stood uneasily behind him. “Your family has done enough of that.”
“I apologize and I am deeply sorry for the damage that my brother caused you. I know that doesn’t mean much in the face of it all, but I am genuine in my actions right now.”
“Tch...you are not fit to marry Izumi-hime. She deserves the world and marrying you is like welcoming a snake into her bed. If I had it my way I would-”
“Ne ne...Lan-ojisan...I think you should get some rest. You have been working very hard the last few days.” I watched as Lady Izumi appeared behind him and his wife and handed them some food. “I’ll make sure he doesn’t get into anything valuable.”
“Hmph! I think this rotten bastard-”
“Yes yes...now come on…” She smiled and led him away and I think it was the first time I saw an actual smile on her face. After leading them away, she walked back through the rubble towards me. “Are you just gonna stand there or are you actually going to help?”
“Right…” I continued with my task, but I couldn’t help but glance at her every so often. She was still less than friendly, but it seemed she had grown to tolerate my presence more. The wedding was fast approaching and I still did not believe it was actually happening. I often wondered how she felt about it. She would be stripped from her family and she would have no choice but to live with mine. She was hard to read at times, and I could only wonder when I would be able to clearly know how she felt about it. I knew one thing though, she was stubborn, and she’d probably keep this up forever. I smirked to myself as I swept and lifted up the damaged roof, she was certainly more interesting than I thought.
“Something funny?”
“Hmm? Oh nothing I...I was only thinking about how you feel about the wedding approaching…”
“......” She paused and looked at me, and she seemed struck by my question. She looked away and continued to clean. It was a full five minutes before she actually answered my question. “I think nothing of it...it is just a duty I have to fulfil. Nothing more and nothing less. I don’t appreciate you laughing about it.”
“Hm? Oh! No I was not laughing about the situation...it’s just that you are more stubborn than I thought. It is hard to read you. I meant no disrespect.”
“Mmm…” At least she didn’t yell at me this time. Little bits of progress is better than none. We continued to work in silence and the space from the villagers was bothering me less and less. It gave me time to work and see what they needed to repair their village.
“Igarashi-sama?”
“Hmm?” I looked up from the plans I was writing as a child pulled at my clothes. Kneeling down, I tilted my head as the young boy rubbed his eyes. “Yes? Is something wrong?”
“Are you going to rebuild my house? I’m hungry…” My eyes widened at his innocent question. Children were so ignorant of the struggles of life. He probably didn’t have any idea that my family was the cause of everything. He just saw me as an important figure who could possibly help him. I could feel Lady Izumi watching me closely and I took notice of others looking at me too. I could tell this was an unintentional test of sorts.
“I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure that your home is restored. I have some onigiri if you’d like. It might be a bit crushed up though…” I reached into my robe and pulled out my wrapped onigiri I had taken for breakfast. He seemed apprehensive about taking it from me, so I took a small bite of it. “Go ahead...it’s safe to eat…” He smiled and accepted it from me.
I stood back up as he ran over to Lady Izumi and excitedly showed her the food. She smiled and ruffled his head before he ran off. Her eyes met mine briefly, but she walked away to continue her work. I guess it was time to really put my back into my work. I had to impress these people and helping one child and elderly couple would not be enough. A little hard work never hurts anyone.
“Alright...let’s do this…”
~~~
It seemed that children were attached to me and I couldn’t say that I disliked it. I was quite fond of children, and they all took to me quite well. The others were still not as receptive but that was to be expected. Lady Izumi talked to me a few times, thankfully without much venom in her voice. Their land was more abundant than ours back at home, but most of their farmers had been horribly injured or were killed. I made plans to send some of ours to assist them. Their land was one of the reasons we had gone to war with them. My father would rather fight than peacefully come to some sort of agreement. I glanced at the mountain looking over the village and made a note to see about it. The minerals that they mined made amazing weapons and tools for the Yamaguchi clan.
I could only wonder how they dealt with the night creatures, but I guess it was obvious how they avoided it. Fresh water was scarce, but that was my fault. “Head back home and bring as much water here as you can. These people also need food in the meantime. Bring some of our cooks here...they will be staying here for the time being.” My men looked worried about leaving me, but they left after a glare.
“Amazing how you seem so ready to help us…” My ears flicked as a man scoffed and suddenly got into my space. I frowned as he looked me up and down. “Your clan has brought us nothing but grief! You just take what you want! You destroy our homes and then you marry Izumi-hime! We deserve more than your pity!”
“This is not pity sir…” I growled low in my throat as I moved him aside. “I am correcting the mistakes of my sire. I never wanted this war between our clans, but I’m sure you don’t believe that and frankly I do not care. I only care about bringing peace and helping the people who never asked for this suffering! You all don’t have to like me, but you will learn to respect me!” Taking a calming breath, I turned away before he started up another issue.
Lady Izumi watched the exchange with curious eyes but I ignored her glances. I needed a break, I had been doing this for hours. Hopefully by the time I come back, my people will be back. Rubbing my temple, I headed into the woods to clear my mind. I don’t know how long I had been walking, but I ended up at a small pond. I scooped up some water and splashed my face. Sitting down, I looked at the afternoon sun with a heavy sigh.
“This is going to be difficult…”
“Did you think it was supposed to be easy?”
“He...I suppose not…” I looked to my right as Lady Izumi walked up next to me and dipped a bare toe into the pond. She recoiled back and I chuckled a bit and she looked at me curiously. “Well...it is getting cold my lady.”
“That is fair I suppose…” She put her shoe back on and walked around the other side of the pond. She flicked her tails and small balls of fire formed on them, they swirled around her body before they burst into small embers. She flicked her tails again and more balls of fire sparked up. She formed many shapes with them and I was impressed by her control. She formed koi fish, sakura petals, kunai and katanas, and finally she made our clan symbols. “I’m only going to belong to one family soon…”
“No you won’t.” She looked up at me and shook her head. “You will always be the eldest daughter of the Yamaguchi clan. Nothing will change that Lady Izumi.”
“You will…” The fire dissipated and I was a bit disappointed that the temporary heat was gone. “I have to do what’s best for my people, even though I hate you with every fiber of my being. I still think you are a piece of shit. I still want you dead.”
“.....” Nice to see she still hates me.
“I will do what I need to do for the prosperity of my clan.” The resolve and determination in her eyes made me smirk. I stood up and looked at her from across the pond with the same look. “I will do what I must for them.”
“As will I, Lady Izumi…” She looked sad all of a sudden, and I wasn’t sure if I should comfort her or not. It probably wasn’t my place.
“Will I...will I have to submit to your every whim?” I was taken aback by her question, but the meaning behind it was clear. “I want to at least keep some of my dignity.”
“Lady Izumi….you will be the lady of the house. You will command respect and you will always have a voice. I won’t take that from you.”
“You would let me have that?” She laughed and shook her head. “You say that...but we shall see when the time comes.”
“I’m good for my word…” She said nothing more as we stared at each other. With a flick of her tails, she went back to the village. I would do what was best for the clan, even if it meant being forced into an unhappy marriage.
~~~
No amount of prayer could have prepared me for the day of the ceremony. The days had passed by far too quickly and I had lost my breakfast several times in the last hour. I just couldn’t seem to keep anything down. My hands were shaking terribly and the color would not return to my face. I nibbled on some rice cakes as my mother shuffled around my room with our maids. I flinched as a brush roughly went through my hair and my mother looked over my Shiromuku kimono. It was such a beautiful kimono, I just wish I was happier about it. My mother was having a hard time deciding if I should wear a Tsunokakushi headdress or a wataboshi hood. It didn’t matter to me, either way I would have to lay my ears flat.
“You’ll wear them both then...the wataboshi when you are going down the aisle, but we can have the Tsunokakushi under it when we are at the shrine.” She turned to look at me and she sighed as I paled again. “Izumi...you have to calm down and eat...you will look like a ghost.”
“I’m sorry mother, but I just….” I grew silent and she rubbed my ears gently. I wish my father was here, but he was overlooking the final arrangements. I sat still as my makeup and kimono was put on. It was so tight and I could barely breathe in it. My hair was done up very beautifully and it had been so long since I dressed up. I once again was sad that I wasn’t happy about this.
“Izumi...I will be right back. I have to check on your father and make sure everything is ready. Please try to hold your stomach.”
“Yes mother.” After she left the room, I went out to the veranda to get some fresh air. The cool air on my face was so refreshing and it helped calm me down a bit. Hopefully I could keep something down this time.
“Hopefully this all goes well…”
“She has been sick all morning...I highly doubt she’ll last through the ceremony. Can you imagine what she’ll be like on the wedding night…” The whispers of my maids made my skin crawl. How did I forget about the wedding night?! It was such a key component of a wedding. Not only that but...I would be expected to do it often. I would have to have his children! Oh...I hope this whole thing falls apart. I was not mentally prepared for it.
“Izumi...come in here so I can finish.” I slowly shuffled back in and sat down as my mother placed my headdress and cowl on my head. “All done...you...you look beautiful my love.”
“T-Thank you mother…” Tears formed in her eyes and she bit her lip. “Please don’t cry mother...this is for the future.”
“I wish that it wasn’t. I’ve never wanted this for you. You deserve to be happy and in love with someone you care about.”
“I care about our clan and people mother...nothing else matters.” The door opened and my mother and I looked on as my father walked in. He paused as he looked me over several times, like he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. “Hello father…”
“Izumi...I thought we should have a discussion before we go out there.” He stood beside my mother and placed his hand on her shoulder. He held my hand as he looked straight into my eyes. “You must be careful when you enter their home. Never let your guard down under any circumstance. If anything happens, we are not afraid to start the war all over again. Be careful what you do, what you eat, and be aware of your surroundings. I will not lose my only daughter to these scum.”
“Yes father…” I looked down at our hands, before I looked back up into their eyes. “Is there...another option. Should I...should I plan to end him?”
“For the time being no, but if it comes to that sort of decision...we will tell you right away.” My mother brushed a stray hair from my face as she slowly stood up. “It’s time my love.”
“Right..” Taking a deep breath, I followed my parents to the shrine next to our home. I kept my head low as I continued on. I let out a breath of fire to keep myself warm. My mother and father both kissed my forehead before they left my side. It was then that I took notice of Takeshi standing outside the shrine with a bright red bangasa. He bowed at my parents before he did the same to me. Holding it over us both, we entered the shrine in silence.
“You...you look nice…”
“Thanks….so do you…” My hands were getting sweaty and my nerves were shot. I had to keep my stomach settled. This was so very uncomfortable and awkward, I wish I could just run away and never look back. “Oh my….”
“.....” He made a small noise, but he didn’t comment as we continued on. Various important leaders from the other clans were in attendance and looking at my parents gave me a bit of strength. Arriving at the altar, we knelt before the priest as he began to bless us and our union. I wish my brother was here and he could give me some advice, or stop this entire fiasco. Maybe the gods would have mercy on me and drop a-
“Lady Izumi…” I blinked from my thoughts as Takeshi nudged me. He must have finished saying whatever pathetic vows he came up with. He handed me his sakazuki cup and I slowly drank from it. I forgot about the san-san-ku-do. I didn’t like the taste of sake very much, but I powered through it. Our parents took their respective sips to finalize the joining of our families and clans. Takeshi carefully placed a simple band on my finger and I put his on as well.
“Now...I join this couple in holy matrimony.” The priest blessed us one last time, before he moved away from us. It was at that moment that I realized that we had to...kiss. My face warmed up as I thought about it. I couldn’t just not do it, it would be disrespectful, but I really didn’t want to. I was sitting still for to long I had to-
A gentle finger lifting my chin made me look up with wide eyes. Takeshi gently kissed my forehead and my face felt like it was on fire. I was...not expecting him to be so...gentle. He moved back and helped me to my feet, bowing to the guests he led us out of the shrine. “I apologize if that was very forward.”
“No I...it’s fine…” He looked me over a few times and I felt nothing but discomfort, but that might have been because I had nothing to eat.
“Lady Izumi...are you alright? You look pale…”
“I just...the kimono is a bit tight...and I...I don’t want to go to the reception. I need to...rest…” My vision started to blur and Takeshi started to disappear from my sight, and before I knew it, everything was dark.
~~~
A sweet scent woke me up from my slumber and I sat up in a futon. Some mochi cakes were on a small table beside the futon with a cup of hot tea. Looking down, I noticed that I was only wearing a simple robe. I was in an unfamiliar room and I moved to get up just as the tatami screen opened up.
“Ah! Lady Izumi...please sit down. You need to eat something.” I said nothing as Takeshi knelt down and placed some papers onto the small table. He looked so...different...it was a bit unnerving. His hair was free from its usual ponytail and he was wearing a robe that matched mine. I looked away from him with a frown and he sighed, which made me look back at him. “Your mother makes good mochi cakes…”
“My mother made these!?” I didn’t wait for a response as I snatched one from the plate and sank my teeth into it. My ears perked up happily as a happy moan escaped my lips. Realizing he was staring, I coughed and straightened my back. “W-What?”
“Nothing…I had the same reaction when I tried them…your mother is a great cook.”
“Yes well….where am I?” I scanned around the unfamiliar room with a harsh gaze.
“We’re at an inn…our home is being prepared for us at the moment. The reception was called off due to your health. This is technically our honeymoon.”
“I…oh….” He said “our” home too easily and I wondered if I would say it that easily. I looked out the window and was surprised to see that it was dark. “I was asleep all day!?”
“Yes…but it is good to see you up and eating my lady.” He fully shut the tatami screen and I couldn’t help but glance at him fully. His robe was coming undone a bit, revealing his well toned chest and abs. I never gave the male form much of a glance, but now I was forced to. I squeezed my hands together tightly as he picked his documents up and looked them over. I continued to eat the cakes before I stepped out for some air.
“Oh! Good evening Igarashi-sama…did you need more refreshments?” A maid almost made me jump out of my skin. I would have to get used to my new name.
“N-No…I’m alright…” She bowed and left me alone. I walked around the inn several times before I stopped at a koi pond. I broke some pieces of bread apart to feed them, I wished I was as carefree as they were.
“If I go back into that room…I’ll…I’ll have to perform my…my wifely duties…” I tilted my head back and closed my eyes tightly. “Brother…watch over me and give me strength…”
I felt tears prick my eyes as I walked back to the room. I wiped them quickly, but felt my heart stop as I noticed that only a small flicker of light was shining from the room. He must be waiting for me…to consummate the marriage.
“Ok…just get it over with Izumi. The sooner the better…” I opened the screen harder than intended and it ripped and I looked at it annoyed. “Damn…”
“I’ve got it…” I barely had time to register how quickly he was in my space as he pulled a repair kit from the shelf in the room. He knelt beside me as he began fixing the hole I made.
“You don’t have to do that.”
“I don’t mind Lady Izumi…” He was trying way too hard to get on my good side. He would never make that achievement no matter how hard he tried. My nervousness was quickly replaced by annoyance. I couldn’t believe that he was making me feel so embarrassed and weak. I would not stand for it.
“What is your end goal?”
“My end goal? I just want to fix the screen.”
“Don’t get smart! This nice act is getting old and redundant.”
“I’m afraid I don’t follow…how is being courteous and friendly an issue for you?” He stood to his full height and I glared up at him.
“You just want me to let my guard down so you can kill me don’t you? Once everything settles, you’ll take my land and have full rights to my territory!”
“Is that what you think? You think I haven’t been the least bit sincere? You are a confused little vixen…if I wanted to kill you I would. If I wanted your land as bad as you think I would have taken it.”
“So what the hell are you waiting for?!”
“Why are you trying to pick a fight with me, woman!? Aren’t you tired of all of this?! All the fighting, bloodshed, suffering, all of it?!”
“No! You deserve to suffer how we have and I won’t be satisfied until you are!”
“This back and forth has to stop! I will not allow it to continue between us! There are more important things to worry about than revenge!”
“No there isn’t! You’re just a coward and I’d cut you in half right now if-“ I was cut off as he pushed me against the wall. His red eyes glowed in the sudden darkness, the candle going out from the sudden force. His hand slammed next to my head and he held a finger as he glared at me.
“Think about what you are saying, you stubborn vixen! You need this union as much as my clan does. We both almost died a few months back. Where would that have left our clans? Weak! Vulnerable from the other clans. We would have left a legacy of only ash and disappointment. Now keep your damn voice down!” He backed away from me and sat on the floor angrily, biting into a cake with equal anger.
“Tch..” I crawled onto my futon and threw the blankets up to my chin. I stared at the ceiling in boiling anger. Stupid bastard man child. I’m gonna throw this ring into the sea. I don’t know how long I had stared at the ceiling before he went to the screen and handed his papers to the maids. I slowly sat up as he stood there for a minute before he slowly turned to look at me.
I held my blankets tight against my chest as he stared at me. Was…was it time to…? I swallowed back my nervousness as I tried to steel myself for what was about to happen. I only prayed that I didn’t get pregnant from a single time. Not wanting to be a coward for much longer, I slowly slipped my robe down my shoulders. My heart thundered in my chest as he walked over. I looked down as I continued to disrobe.
His hand grabbed mine and I looked up as he frowned at me. I let my hands drop, but he didn’t continue to disrobe me. Instead, he pulled my robe back onto my body and wrapped the blanket around my shoulders. A heavy blush spread over his cheeks as he looked away. “I…I didn’t look, my lady…”
“I…why aren’t you continuing?” I moved back as he settled beside me in the futon. “We…we have to consummate our marriage.”
“We really don’t though…I’m not going to force you into something you don’t want…that either of us want. We…we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.” He ran a hand through his hair before he looked at me. “Let’s just rest hm? I’ll move my futon over so you’re comfortable.”
“I…” He pushed his futon to the other side of the room and I don’t think I ever felt more confused about a situation. His personality surprised me more and more each day. He didn’t say another word as he put his head down. I gripped my robe tightly before I laid down myself.
I pulled my blankets up under my nose as I stared at the back of his head. I could wonder where this tumultuous relationship could go from here. Something told me that the journey would be one for the history books.
So there’s a character who originally should have been on this blog. This gentleman;  Richelieu
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just look at him! He’s such an A+ character to be added to the Mansion’s omnibus of handsome ojisans, but I can’t. So now your either wondering why or have a good idea. And if you curious at all about this story, then you should now a spoiler is coming.
Said spoiler and reason I can add Mr. Richelieu is related to this post and the submission rules.
That’s right he’s not actually that age and that’s not his real appearance. The age part is a bit off as he’s actually over 300 cause he’s  a demon. His appearance then is the major problem as he actually looks like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he’s not bad. He’s not in my type when I’m focusing on characters who aren’t ojisans but more importantly is the lie of him being an ojisan. A fact even more painful given how amazing his 52 year old appearance is.
Which is why your getting this post format with pictures and not a picture post. On the one hand he breaks my rule(s) for a mortals as while he’s over well any normal human age he clearly stopped aging in what I can safely guess are his late 20s. At least that’s what I think. Given the appearance of another demon who’s human age is marked at 31, it’s rather hard to tell. Not only that but his older appearance could count as a canon older appearance. However I’m playing it safe and discussing this more as a tragedy.
Dancing With Shadows- Chapter 1: First Impressions Matter
Pairing: KakuHida Rating: Mature Author Notes: This is a school AU with the Akatsuki and Madara as their teacher (oh boy). The setting is similar to My Hero Academia because it would be pointless to not have their abilities, am I right? The location is the land between the Hidden Waterfall and Sound villages. I have no idea how long this will be until the end but enjoy!  PS: Follow me for more content if you also like Naruto ships!
“Alright everyone settle down,” a voice echoed within the four walls, causing the group to quiet down and sit in their appropriate seats. The gentleman’s footsteps tapped against the wood floor as he made his way to the podium. “I am Madara Uchiha, your new sensei”.
“Eh? Uchiha? Itachi and Obito, do you know him?,” one of the teenagers whispered.
“He’s our grandfather.” the boy replied with a sharp sigh. It was Obito. Great now Ojisan is our sensei? Since when? He thought to himself. Itachi quietly sat in his seat, uninvolved and looked out the window.
“Grandfather?! He looks so young!”
“Tsk,” Madara squinted at his new students. “I’m not that old!”. A silence drowned the class, causing them to sit up straight with an umbrella of anxiety over them. Madara Uchiha was a legend of his own, a man who created the Hidden Leaf Village with the first Hokage, Hashirama Senju. He too was an Uchiha and a powerful one in that matter, an Uchiha ahead of his time. He knew Obito and Itachi would be his students however, he always favored Itachi. This caused a small rivalry between the two boys before their school days. Madara sighed.
“Anyway, yes I am Obito and Itachi’s grandfather. I am the bridge between Konoha and this elite school so therefore both my grandsons are now my students,” the 50 year old explained, “I have expectations not for just the Uchiha but for everyone in this classroom. If anyone causes an issue, I will have no problem settling it myself.” His eyes grazed across the classroom, making him smirk with the amount of fear he put into his students on the first day.
“One other thing…” Madara looked over to the left at the classroom door. “Come on out”.
A figure entered the classroom and each students eyes were drawn to the doorway. “Oi, Sensei you made me wait out there for a while!”
“Do not yell in the classroom,” Madara cleared his throat, “Everyone this is our new transfer student, Hidan.”
Everyone looked at the boy who was in the center of the class and whispered to each other. Their eyes already gave off a judgemental aura which caused Hidan to grit his teeth. All the students looked at the silver hair boy giggling amongst each other, all except for Itachi and the boy in the very far back, Kakuzu. Both didn’t speak much and quietly stayed in their seats.
“Pft, listen here damn it! I’m Hidan and I come from the awesome Yugakure village! I came to this school to please my Lord Jashin and become a powerful shinobi!” the boy exclaimed in frustration due to his new classmates already laughing at him. Hidan was a boy from the Land of Hot Water, which resided on the opposite side of the Hidden Sound. His appearance was bold and his attitude was fiery.
“Lord Jashin? Isn’t that the lame religion people follow to stay pure, hmm?!” a boy, Deidara laughed.
“Don’t you dare make fun of Lord Jashin!” Hidan yelled.
“That is enough!” Madara stopped the two from bickering. “Everyone make Hidan feel part of this classroom and stop with the yelling”. He let out a sigh, wishing the day would be over soon. “Take your seat, Hidan”.
Hidan slid his hands into his pockets and made his way through the classroom. No one seemed to budge for him but the boy picked a seat in the back next to the other one with stitches, Kakuzu. “Yo,” he whispered to the black haired boy who refused to acknowledge Hidan which annoyed him,“Wouldn’t hurt to at least say hi back”.
“Shut up, loudmouth. You’re annoying,” Kakuzu glared at the newcomer. Hidan pouted his lips and rolled his eyes, mumbling something under his breath.
What’s up his ass? And what’s with the stitches all over him? What a weirdo. Hidan thought to himself and was barely paying attention to what Madara-sensei was lecturing about.
Hidan rested his face at the palm of his hands, carelessly doing his own thing. Everyone sat in their seats looking over at the new boy once in a while and laughed quietly amongst themselves. Hidan grumbled and tried to ignore the muttering however Obito made it worse by passing things around quietly. “Obito pay attention!” Madara said as he was writing on the board making Obito freeze in his seat and turn back around. The note he originally passed made its way to Hidan. He opened up the note: no one cares about your Lord whatever, you freak!. Hidan clenched the note in his hands but only sighed, his eyes sad. He brushed off the insult and ignored the others.
“Ignore him, he’s a loudmouth idiot too.” Kakuzu said quietly, “you may have embarrassed yourself like an idiot too but he’s worse”. He turned his head back to copy the notes Madara was writing down on the board. Hidan’s eyes widen, surprised the boy with long black hair defended him.
“Uh… thanks,” Hidan silently smiled. Maybe the kid wasn’t bad afterall.
“Shut up, dumbass and don’t speak to me again.” Kakuzu glared.
Hidan stared at Kakuzu and rolled his eyes. It was too good to be true.
I guess first impressions do matter. He thought.
Izakaya-informal japanese bar
Masterlist || taglist || [prev ; next]  [updates; every friday yay!]
Tumblr media
*13 hours earlier; a night before at some random Izakaya in Tokyo*
You sat in front of your phone and three bottles of saki, despite your friends advising you countless of times to lay off drinking too much, all sense and warnings are thrown off the window tonight.
You’re clearly far from sobriety as you recall the video chat with your otosan not looking too good and bright, “Why don’t you move back home? It’s not like the teaching job at tokyo is all that great! You’re alone there and your obachan and I don’t like that a lot…” your father’s words haunt you again and again.
Just what was wrong with living alone? And excuse your otosan but you definitely had a very good job at Tokyo High (It was a prestigious academy that paid well, best job out there that you still didn’t know how you landed). You mumbled a few curses underneath your breath, Oh, how much you love that oaf of a father and worrywart of a grandmother but could they lay off the idea of settling down? You were a responsible and good child who never had stepped a toe out of line. Wasn’t that enough already? You immediately downed the drink and let the saki burn your throat down.
“Oh ho, slow down there.” You hear someone say, “You’re all alone and it seems like you have no one to help you back home.”
It seemed like the men on the opposite side of the bar had noticed you.
“I can take myself home, thank you very much.” You mumbled, loud enough for them to hear. Unlike older men who liked to prey on you for your innocent stature. The men who sat across you in the Izakaya didn’t really exude that sort of energy (what can you say, you had a knack of experiencing that, unfortunately).
“Are you sure? We can ask the owner to call a cab for you. She’s a woman and she’s a friend of ours.” the other one in robes pipes in, wait, was that a Buddhist monk?
“No, I’m good. It’s just…” You paused before letting out a long sigh, “A bad time so I need to stick around for a bit.”
The white-haired stranger tilts his head just a bit, “Seems like you and a friend of mine are both going through some rough patches.” he replied, pointing towards his blonde company who you didn’t notice until now.
You wordlessly shifted your gaze towards the office worker next to the Buddhist monk, you hadn’t noticed the blonde man until now. It seemed like he was going through a rough time too since the pair was loud and boisterous enough to conceal his silent presence.
You notice how out of place he looks with his crisp and clean suit, hard gaze, and silence. It made you wonder what sort of man hangs out with two contrasting personalities, “You’re wondering if he’s our friend or our boss, aren’t ya?” the white-haired man asks.
You immediately turn red in embarrassment, were you that easy to read? You try to stutter out an apology but the monk waves it off, “It’s alright, we get it all the time. Contrary to popular belief, Kento is two years younger than us and is our junior from high school.” He smiles.
“Ah,” you nodded mutely, “Sorry. It definitely wouldn’t make sense to see a boss and his subordinates at an Izakaya.”
“Oh, Kento-chan doesn’t usually go out drinking but he couldn’t resist. After all, he’s a father with two very emotional teenage boys.” The white-haired man teased in a sing-song voice. It seemed like the three were close, with the way they were carelessly lounging around the stoic and kind-of scary man.
“I’m starting to wonder if he gets that teasing attitude from you.” The blonde man, seemingly out of his trance, called out his friend. Contrasting to his aloof features, he didn’t mask the annoyance in his tone.
“Oh, uh, do you need help?” you quietly asked, tilting your head to the side in wonder. The blonde man’s head snapped to your direction and quirked a brow.
“And you are?” he seemed to be calculating and observing you from head to toe. It suddenly made you a bit self-conscious because this older gentleman had no business being this good looking and scary at the same time.
“Oh, I’m Y/N by the way. I’m actually a high school teacher.” You introduced yourself sheepishly, “I’m always surrounded by angsty teenagers.”
His gaze narrowed just a bit, it seemed like he’ll be giving you the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he was a bit desperate since he was getting advice from a drunk stranger in an Izakaya out of all places, “So what seems to be the problem, Ojisan?”
He’s still quite hesitant so it’s his white haired friend who speaks out for him, “You see, Kento-chan here just moved last week because of a promotion from Kyoto.” he grins, telling the story for his friend, “His kids aren’t very keen with the moving, well one of them is outright showing it and the other one is well keeping it in since he’s just the sweeter one.”
The white-haired stranger keeps babbling on about how his friend had regretted taking the work promotion because it feels like he shouldn’t have done that. You peerlessly observe the older man’s reaction while his friend talks about his problems to you. He remains stoic.
It didn’t look like it but it seemed like this man had such a soft spot for his kids.
How nice, his wife must be proud of him.
“... and before I forget to add, Kento-chan is very much single.”
You almost choke on your saliva, this friend of his sure knew how to run his mouth. It suddenly dawns upon you why this man had been very worried, he was a single parent who only wanted what was best for his boys but he didn’t even know how he should proceed now.
“Um, ojisan?” You quietly call out, “I think you’re doing great.”
Silence lingered in the air for a bit, you cringed at your rather awkward and forward approach, “Excuse me?” the older blonde man asked, clearly dismayed by your response.
“It’s just…” you ears turn red, not from the alcohol but from embarrassment, “You wouldn’t have moved in the first place if the pay wasn’t better than your old job, right? Plus you’re alone and raising two kids. It definitely isn’t easy to provide for everything alone but I can see that you did some careful reevaluation on the whole thing. Obviously you can’t avoid the fact that they feel bad but you can sit them down and talk to them about how the whole thing was beneficial not just for you but for them too.”
You spoke way too quickly that you wondered if the man could understand you.
The blonde man holds his breath for a moment, “I know…” he mumbles, “I just don’t really know how to talk to them.”
“Well, maybe you could take them out?” You advised, “Spend a whole day with them for a while and just move around with them. Help them get acquainted around their new school or something!”
You watch him silently look at his glass and think it over. Man, if this guy wasn’t older, your obaasan would outright agree and tell you to go out with him since she was never fond of how men weren’t as calm or laid back as he was.
“That sounds plausible. Thank you, Y/N-san.” his voice turned a bit softer and you feel your stomach turn just a little queasy by his tone. God, was the alcohol this bad?
“Well, would ya look at that.” the white-haired man grins, placing his drink up as if he was signaling everyone to cheers with him, “I told you drinking at an Izakaya would solve all your problems. For that, we should drink here again next week!”
The man glared at him yet again, “No. I should be heading home now. I can’t be anymore away from S-”
“Ah, ah. You promised that you’d stay until 2 am.” The white-haired man hushed, “Or I’ll be pestering you for a whole month.”
You could definitely tell that a vein popped on his forehead and his blood pressure was shooting up. Man, you were really starting to doubt that white-haired man was older than everyone in this room. He sure had the mental age of an elementary student.
“You also said I could leave after five drinks.”
“That’s only your second.”
“Satoru…” the Buddhist monk dangerously hovers over his white-haired friend. Wow, middle-age men sure were amusing, “You don’t even drink that well and he has to drive home…”
“Tit for tat, I’ll hire one of my personnel to drive you home after five drinks and I’ll leave you alone for a wee-”
“Please just leave me alone for my whole life.” the blonde man deadpanned.
Unlike you, he wasn't such a bad drinker. Four bottles for him and one more drink for you later, you're both kind of woozy and you had gotten on even friendlier terms with the three men who you now know as Geto-ojisan, Gojo-ojisan, and finally, Nanami-ojisan. Nanami was well into his late thirties while Geto and Gojo were in their forties.
If you were sober, you wouldn’t be making friends with older men. With stories of how easily young people are taken advantage of in the big city, you’d swerve away from them. Luckily, it seemed like they were a good trio and not once did they invite you to sit on their table so you had some good distance between you four and so far, they hadn’t tried anything funny or uncomfortable.
Geto is currently a lawyer, Gojo’s apparently some swanky businessman of god knows what        you heard jewelry or something      and Nanami was an accountant. A job that he described was ‘dead-end’ and ‘fucking boring’.
“...What happened to your wife, Nanami-ojisan?” you ask, the alcohol slowly shedding your shyness away.
“I told ya, Y/N-chan. He never was married. The way he got the kids was just complicated!” Gojo Satoru frowns, splaying his long limbs in the air, for a man so enthusiastic with drinking, he sure got drunk pretty quickly.
“Really? Didn’t you have a hard time? Wow…” you whistled, “I have such high…” you raised your hand as high as you could, “...respects for like, single parents!”
“See? See? But he can’t get a partner because of that Y/N-chan.” Gojo pouts, “...We’ve been setting him up on dates and such but he keeps bailing on them!”
“I have kids.” Nanami deadpans, narrowing his eyes.
“What my friends are trying to say, Kento has a number of opportunities to bring a partner into his life but he likes to use the boys and his work as an excuse.” Geto surmised, it seemed like the lawyer was also starting to feel the effects of the alcohol since he had become more talkative.
“He’s good-looking, right Y/N-chan? If he probably didn’t act like some fossil from the Triassic period, he wouldn’t have a problem sometimes about the boys having a mother figure!” Gojo rants, making Nanami flick his forehead.
“Idiot, must you tell this stranger all my problems?” Nanami harshly interjected.
“Well, you do know that to actually get a partner, you must get out there, right ojisan?” you try to calm him down, you didn’t want a bar fight to erupt.
“I know.” he rolls his eyes, “But the kids-”
“I know.” You try to smile, “You aren’t very interested in bringing just anyone in your life, right? The boys need a permanent figure and you think dating around is going to help.”
“Holy shit, Y/N-chan.” Gojo exclaims, “I thought you were a teacher? How come you know all this shit?”
“It’s basic, Gojo-san.” you smile, ready to take another swig of your saki, “You should take into consideration that Nanami-san isn’t just anyone who’d settle for less. He needs stability since he’s technically a parent.”
“That makes you a perfect pair, don’t you think?” Geto nonchalantly replies, “I mean, you need a stable man in your life who has all of it figured out and wouldn’t hold you back at all while Kento here needs a person who could not only be a good parent but also be as understanding.”
“That’s…” you chuckle, he technically was right, “That’s definitely odd how all our problems will be solved if we both just went out together.”
“... looks young enough to be my child.” Nanami rejoined, “why would Y/N-san like-”
“I mean, you’re good looking.” you shrug, rather shamelessly, “I wouldn’t mind going out with you. Heck, I wouldn’t mind if I married you.”
Gojo spits out the saki he was drinking all over the table and that makes you cringe in disgust, “As long as he doesn’t get invited to the wedding. I’d marry you. If you’d like we could even get married right here, right now.” you proudly proclaim.
The blonde man is thrown off by your statement yet he’s too drunk to even sip in the seriousness of your words, “Well as much as I agree on not inviting Gojo to my wedding, I don’t know-” he tries to explain.
“You know what, isn’t Geto-san a lawyer? He could have it notarized and all that right now then we could get married. I’ll be a great mom and help you out then you could help me get my family off my back. You scratch my back, I scratch yours!”
Geto is definitely in shock, how odd was it that he even had a marriage registration certificate in his briefcase back in the car too?
You both could just sign it and Satoru could sign it as your witness and he could have it officially notarized since he had his seal back there too.
Solved.
“So, Nanami-san, what do you say? Wanna marry me?”
Oh god, were you shameless.
Who in the right mind would marry a stranger, one who was thirteen years older and a father?
One thing was for sure, your friends were right. You definitely needed to stay away from alcohol.
