we need to destroy the idea that girls should wear makeup. normalize bare faces on prom queens and flower girls and cheerleaders. no products at all instead of '7 product simple makeup routine.' no more 10 step skincare and regular facials and dermablading and gua sha just to be comfortable with yr natural face. i want to see eye bags on the funny librarian and acne on the swim coach and wrinkles on all our adult role models. i want to see a 16 year old girl that has never tried putting on eyeshadow. i want to see a 7 year old girl who doesn't have to go out and buy powder for her dance recital. i want to see trans women and girls everywhere to never have to wear makeup, regardless of how well they 'pass.' no more 'contouring to look masc' either. a post-beauty industry world is possible
reblogs are on but if you bring up the stage makeup point that i have addressed three times yr blocked on sight ☹️

got a worm nibbling my brain. can someone help me find a piece of obscure media?
webcomic/indie comic from the 2010s. basically a sci-fi short story about a young girl (with red hair?) who was being raised by scientists as part of an experiment. she receives a haircut/has her head shaved, in preparation for her annual brain scan/testing. it is revealed that while her body is human, her "brain" is artificial, made of computer implants throughout her skull and spine. at some point her biological mother (also a scientist on the same campus?) encounters her and is repulsed, viewing her as a machine who has murdered her daughter.
it was very poignant and it bruised my heart and i can NOT find it anywhere

i’ve been loving watching critical role recently if for no other reason than because i get to watch a decent portion of viewers actively falling for cult tactics lmao
a forbes article describes cult tactics as when cult leaders “censor dissenting viewpoints, promote a distorted narrative and use relentless repetition and peer pressure”
ludinus needing to monologue at everyone he meets. cherry picking what information to let people know (ie the orb). showing popular world leaders (gods?) at their absolute worst as a means to win over the vulnerable. creating dissent between cult prospects and the people who they’re close to outside the cult. doesn’t take no for an answer. repeating his points over and over, in whatever context he thinks will be most persuasive. targeting people who’ve lost everything. convincing people that they’re special
matt is a genius.

Soundwave Superior
Back when I decided I wanted to get back into drawing transformers and interacting with the fandom, I decided to start off with attempting Soundwave. Now that it's been a bit over a year since then, I figured i'd be fun to do a redraw of the piece and compare how I'd draw it now :>
Comparison under the cut

Chloe taking Red to mardi gras in Bayou de Orleans, her aunt Tiana and uncle Naveen's kingdom. (Disney how dare you take her away from me. So this is how i'm healing, in my world Ella and Tiana stayed good friends)
Chloe makes sure Red has the best time. They eat in the french quarter, go on a ghost tour, meet louis (And he's one of Red's favorite part of the trip because finally an animal she can talk to in auradon). Chloe takes Red to a local store to get their masks and nobody is surprised when the princess of hearts picks up a red one. Tiana and Naveen personally invite them to their restaurant and to watch the parade with them. And reds just happy to be there because not only is the the most fun thing she's done in Auradon to this point, but her princess is having so much fun and she'll take any excuse to hear Chloe speak french so much even if she doesn't understand.
Chloe: Est-ce que le flotteur est prêt, ma tante?
Tiana: yes Chloe, don't worry so much firefly
Chloe: Je veux juste que ce soit parfait, elle mérite le meilleur
Naveen: et ce sera la petite grenouille, tu planifies depuis des mois
Red: What're we talkin bout?
When the parade happens, Chloe makes sure they're on a balcony (because they're both short no matter what Red says) and she wants her girlfriend to have the best view. And when Red turns to look at her, mouth open in shock and eyes shining because there's a wonderland float in the mix, Chloe takes so many pictures, to the point she thinks she'll run out of storage.

your take on Dave during the holidays what would the silly man be up to?
sorry this took so long, i guess i wasnt in the christmas mood earlier. initially i wanted to go for like, Dave alone just patroling the mall, having just a tiny ratty christmas tree on his office desk or something but, that was too sad. i think of him (or specifically think of William) as a guy that goes all out on decor, but it's hard to project that onto Dave somehow... what does this man do away from work? needs to be studied more.
