Sometimes, Evelynn did not move from one kill to the next immediately. On occasions, she liked lingering around, particularly if her target had loved ones - friends, family, lovers -, which would no doubt grieve their passing. Grief was a nice dessert to nip at before you went on your merry way.
However, it was through being around those grieving families, that Evelynn became aware of the fact that she was being followed. For every time like clockwork, Shauna Vayne showed up to interrogate the family about the passing of their loved ones. The first few times, Evelynn could ignore it, but as the pattern became more obvious, she realised what was going on: Vayne was tracking her.
The demon had not given too much thought to Shauna after she had had such an entertaining evening with her parents. Over the centuries of her existence, there had been hundreds of Vaynes. Human hunters, which were determined to strike her down for a perceived ill, she had done against someone close to them. Most of them never saw her again, even when they tried their hardest to track her. And those, who did finally get their shot at glory, wished they had never taken up the mantel.
Shauna Vayne had not yet met her again, although she was getting closer with each tracked instance. It was starting to get quite annoying. Her constant insistence that she would bring the 'beast', which had done such a crime to justice was sullying the grief of those people! It turned a well-deserved dessert into an abruptly sour meal. Furthermore, the threat of her barging in, meant that even when it came to her meals in general, Evelynn no longer felt like she could take her time and have fun with her kill. If there was one crime, which was unforgivable, it was being forced to stomach fast food.
It was time, Evelynn sent an unmistakable message for Vayne.
In the death of the night, a shadow dripped through the keyhole in Vayne's bedroom. Pooling down onto the floor, the shadow grew before it snaked its way up the wall and over the ceiling. It continued to traverse the flat surface until it was right above Vayne's sleeping body, where it solidified. The shadow took on a vaguely humanoid shape, adorned with a pair of curved, slim horns on its head.
Evelynn's head spun around by 180 degrees under a low creaking and snapping noise as if phantom bones were trying to arrange themselves in her neck until she looked down at Vayne's sleeping form. Purple, pupilless eyes traced the body underneath the covers, easily filling in the curves of the hips and the warm hills of breasts. Evelynn chuckled, feeling strings of black tar-like drool coat around the protrusions, the shadow called her teeth.
Evelynn relinquished her hold on the ceiling and dropped down upon Vayne's body. Straddling her, the demon allowed her whole weight to settle onto the young hunter, forcing the air out of her lungs. Vayne might as well have just gotten a rock dropped onto her. Evelynn's lashers rose from behind her back and curled out of her side. Instead of jabbing into Vayne's skin - as much as Evelynn wanted to do that -, they swiftly wrapped themselves around the hunter's wrist like a pair of ropes.
Evelynn crawled closer, making each step heavier than the last and continuing to force the air out of Vayne's lungs. If she were to wake up tomorrow, her whole belly and chest would be covered in purple splotches and bruises. Finally, the Demon of Agony stopped a few inches away from Vayne's face. Her tongue darted out of her mouth like a lizard scenting the air.
Evelynn raised a clawed hand and placed a finger against the back of Vayne's ear. Dragging her nail downwards, the skin split open like a ripe fruit. Blood coated Evelynn's purplish-black skin. She crooned with an imitation of Vayne's mother's voice: "Shauna, darling, wake up!"

" Darling, " an ever affectionate coo, always alluring. It's all she needs to say to invite him further into her office, where she sits at her desk. Though her gaze doesn't shift to him, far more occupied on a certain album that lies upon her desk.
Allowing a few moments for him to enter and likely take a seat, Evelynn turns a page, drawing a digit over one of the photos of them, pre-POP/STARS debut. " Would you happen to have more ? " her question is spoken in a small voice, as if she doesn't want to be discovered being so sentimental over memories. A pensive look then takes to her features, brows furrowing, before she finally looks up to him. " Photos, I mean. "

Robin often wondered if Evelynn's perfectly round puppy eyes were something she consciously made for herself, or if he was simply too fond to deny her by this point. A singular pout or huff of frustration was all it took for him to lay down his work and be at her beck and call. Usually he would grimace at such fragility but … well, the way she lit up afterwards made it a price worth paying - and seeing her now, so small and almost embarrassed to be so emotionally open? Oh how could he resist.
"Of course I do, Miss Evelynn. After all, a whole year has passed, quite a few days within a human's life. I'll begin assembling another scrapbook for you as soon as I get back to my desk, it may take a few days, however."
A soft smile graced his lips as he approached her, his expression soft as he cupped her shoulder and even went as far as to press a kiss upon the crown of her head. Robin was sure if anyone else besides himself, and Miss Akali of course, pulled this sort of stunt their head would already be rolling out the door and a cleaning crew would need to be called in. But he was special, that much he knew. He hopped up to sit on the edge of her desk and folded his legs, slender fingers extending a cigarette towards her. He was quick to ignite one for himself before offering her the flame as well. A column of smoke blew from his puckered lips, his head tilted away from her respectfully, until a broad and playful grin painted his features with mischief. His voice's natural twang betrayed his comfort and familiarity with her, a far cry from his usual way of speaking, as he discarded the silver-tongued facade used to drag so many to darkness.
"Ya know, Miss Evelynn, I could include all of the photos I have of you and our beloved KDA. Did you want me to include the one that's got Miss Akali droolin' on the couch in the background? Or perhaps the one the one where you are shooting the nastiest side eye at the sound director for MORE? I could go on - gotta lot of 'em after all~"

Soft jazz beats filled the room, only broken up by the sharp clicking of heels against the marble floors of the entrance area. The doorbell had come as a surprise, since she had not been called from the main entrance to the hotel she was staying at. No matter, it could simply be another guest — someone who'd be in trouble, if that was the case.
She was both pleasantly surprised, and a little puzzled to see Evelynn standing in the door, then. Nevertheless, she stepped to the side and held her arm out, gesturing for Evelynn to enter the penthouse.
❝ Good evening, my dear. ❞ She said, watching her companion enter through the door, eyes never once able to leave her once they'd settled on her. Magnetic, the way Evelynn seemed to demand her attention at every turn.
@evelicious prayed : “ I don’t usually do these sorts of things , “ evelynn began , lifting a hand and snapping her fingers as a sign for her lackeys to follow . two suited men entered the room , one with an extravagant bouquet of flowers in hand & the other with a box of only the finest chocolates . “ but happy valentine’s day . “
Elise waited patiently for the gifts to be revealed, arms slowly crossing over her chest as she regarded first the flowers, then the chocolate, and then Evelynn herself. A tentative hum escaped past dark painted lips, before a subtle smile stretched their corners. Sure, many had tried to schedule dates with her on days like these but few had succeeded, ever. Today was no different — Elise would have been content to spend it by herself, and yet . . .
Tumblr media
❝ Well, in that case, I am glad you decided to make an exception this time. Had I known you were planning on stopping by, I would have dressed for the occasion. ❞ A blatant lie. She was always dressed just right. A hand gestured to the sofa table, urging for the gifts to be carried there.
Her eyes darted towards the lackeys, then. One and then the other. ❝ Tell me, what are they still doing here? Be a darling and dismiss them so I can properly thank you for these, won't you? Then, tell me how exactly you managed to slip past all the security downstairs, assuming you did. ❞
Only once they were alone in the room did Elise's arms unfold and one hand settle on her own hip. She relaxed her posture a tad, sauntering over towards the other woman so that she could gently grasp Evelynn's waist with her free hand. Her thumb brushed against the fabric of her clothes there, as she leaned in to speak in a lower tone,
❝ Thank you for the gifts. I hope you didn't have any more plans for the night, because you have caught my undivided attention. ❞

In what part of the story did it take for him to realize that Evelynn Wynde had fully rooted herself like that of infected, parasitical tree that housed love like no other. Gentle hands, a reminder of how things could have been if they would have met sooner; but... Astarion is not too late, never was late to receive such love that formed its shape into the half-elf, into the one woman who he often laughed and called out to like some God. He couldn't bare the thought to touch another or to love another so intensely. In fact, it angered him. These newfound emotions that long since buried itself, how he believed it true: The Pale Elf unable to love. But such thoughts turn on him and hangs him like an old, sickened noose.
Tumblr media
Evelynn speaks to him like a siren out in the sea, lulling him in with that pretty little smile and ocean blues. He understood so heavily of such sailor stories, it's why he returns the favor. Forehead against her own, his own smile deepening his aging lines as his hands are splayed against her sides, " Nothing else? " asked the moment she finishes. What he doesn't realize is that intimacy lies right here by just being silent, by holding one another close. So the spawn takes hold of this situation, let's bodies sway as he starts his attack upon her own pretty little freckles, " No ballads, no confession from a sinner... " spoken to each detail of her, the way he makes way to travel his lips down to that darling neck of hers... " I'll write my own confession, if you allow it. "

"Evelynn, crying: Darling, just know I still love you even if you are growing bald." Wait why would Eve cry if it was just a dream? Like does she dislike the idea of a bald Akali or would she still love her regardless of hairstyle and other appearance-related stuff?
Because if I fell asleep and suddenly I dreamed that my partner confessed that they went bald, I would be emotional too.
Because that's called trust. They trust me enough to tell me something that they feel ashamed about. That's love. That's why Evelynn cries because Dream Akali trusted her enough to tell her a secret that she feels ashamed about.
And Evelynn is a big old softie.

KDA Marriage Headcannons
Tumblr media
So glad I seen and read the request before I accidentally deleted it. I’m still learning about Tumbler so it was my bad. But Reader will be Gender Neutral! I hope this is what you meant! Enjoy!
Ahri
Being married to Ahri was hard at first. You had to get used to the flashing lights and paparazzi. She was worried that it would be to much for you but she needs you by her side. You knew that and now you don't worry about them.
You two have a very loving relationship. She spoils you so much and all she wants is kisses and cuddles. She loves being babies by her love. Her Nine tails always wrap around you to keep you beside her.
She never forgets special dates or events. Anniversary? She already planned ahead. Birthday? A nice dinner and her singing to you.
“Baby! Guess what today is?”
“What?”
It's your birthday! Really (y/n)?!”
You two tell each other everything. When she's angry, hurt, sad. She tells you. She has here depressed times but all you have to do is lay beside her and hold her. Let her cry. She will be so thankful.
There are times she's very playful. She is a Vastaya but known as a nine-tailed fox. She has a lot of energy. From time to time she still tries to charm you just for the fun of it. Now your chasing after her laughing.
Ahri is a wonderful wife. She will help you anyway she can, even if her schedule is super packed from KDA or photoshoots. If she's away from home, except phone calls and ft calls from her to see how your holding up at home.
Kai’sa
Kai’sa will always make sure your ok. She always asks if your ok. She never fails to protect you.
She will whip up an energy drink for you both and work out with you. How else is she gonna make sure you're able to stand your ground?
“Do you wanna go on a run?”
Any time of day, she's in the dance studio for hours. Overworking herself to the point where you have to drag her to the living room to cuddle.
“No more studio for today, my love. You are over working yourself.”
Kai'sa will cook a mean meal. Your favorite meal? We will cook. She prefers to cook instead of ordering out because’ “FaSt FoOd Is NoT HeAlThY FoR YoU” 😒🙄 But you appreciate the effort anyways.
When Kai’sa as is gone on tour or to an interview, she will send you text messages saying how much she loves and misses you. But remember that she is always overworking herself. So you will most like to have to call one of the other girls to let Kai’sa know that you've been calling.
Kai’sa is a very very supportive wife. Will go through anything to make your dream come true. She never judges and gives great advice for anything and everything. You can always ask her for help and she will try her best to be helpful.
Evelynn
You never thought you would marry Evelynn just because of how famous she is. Plus do you see her? Umm hello, She is gorgeous! But the shock and surprise you had when she purposed to you was out of this world.
Evelynn has a way of getting what she wants. Her voice is so smooth and seductive. She’s always been the more professional and well-kept one of the group. But don’t mistake her for being heartless.
Of course you know what she is. She told you before anything romantically could happen and you accepted her from the beginning.
She loves you to death. Will call you cute nicknames and will flirt with you til your face is dark red. She has no shame.
“Darling, that outfit is so sexy on you. I wonder how you look under it..”
Cue nosebleed
Will never use her powers on you. She loves you so much and it would hurt her to see you hurt.
She loves when you just walk up to her and hug her tightly or demand cuddles. She’ll walk you to the couch or bed and just hold you,not wanting to let you go at all.
When she is on tour with KDA, she misses you a lot. She doesn’t show it in front of the girls but they could tell. When she performs, she always makes sure to go all out cause she knows your watching.
Will make sure that you know your beautiful/handsome. She wants you to love yourself as much as she loves you.
Akali
She is a natural troublemaker if we are being honest here. She looks to prank you around the house, tickle you, etc. she loves seeing you smile or laugh.
She will randomly come to you with two bowls of noodles and sit down beside you. Now you both are eating noodles and watching tv.
She trains a lot. She wakes up early in the morning to train but the sleeps all day.
Do Not- I repeat- DO NOT LET HER COOK! She will ruin the food or burn down the house. Has tried to fix you breakfast in bed but you woke to the loud smell of smoke and her screaming🤦🏽‍♀️
Loves taking you on motorcycle rides at midnight. She takes you to a cliff hanger and you both watch the city and the stars.
Will randomly come up and kiss you. Lips, nose, cheek, hand. If she kisses you on your hand, she kisses the wedding ring.
On tour, she gets you little souvenirs so she doesn’t come home empty handed. Doesn’t matter what it is.
She brags about you 24/7 to the girls. I mean “(y/n) this and (y/n) that”. The girls doesn’t mind tho. They are happy that she’s happy.
Facetimes you like 8 times a day.... literally. She’s a cinnamon roll. Protect her

"The Move"
Akali sits in a room, alone. The shelves are emptying up, the walls are stripped, and caulk is all over. She looks around before realizing that her time in the room is coming to a close.
Looking at her phone, everyone has been busy lately. Ahri is back to working on Foxy cosmetics, Kai'sa has gone to London for a bit, Sera went back to Shanghai, and Eve is at Los Angeles for a few secret projects. Something about hacking.
Looking around, she sees emptiness. She sees all of her fears coming true. No one to talk to and nothing to really say to them. Akali feels like she is a bother or she is just being a nuisance. That there wasn't a point or place for her after she became a part of KDA.
She remembers her past, the many times Mayym mistreated and abused her. The physical, mental, and emotional scars that were left in her time in Japan. Akali never wanted to go back to that awful place. Then... Eve heard her... it was a night she can't forget. Akali didn't know about Evelynn being at an underground rap battle.
That night, Akali rapped one of her favorite raps of all time. It was to the beat of "Ready or Not" by the Fugees. She flew by with three different languages and made sure her opponent was obliterated by her words. However, the guy tried to attack her afterwards and Akali used her fighting skills to defend against him. When he randomly grabbed a person from the crowd, Akali backed off...
... then... lashers appeared... and his screams were the last she heard of him. The woman revealed herself and her magenta hair made it clear she was Evelynn. Who HASN'T heard of that diva. Akali is a big fan of hers... but what brings her here? She walks over and stops in front of Akali.
"Darling, if this is normal, I can't let you do this anymore."
"Trust me, this is NOT normal..."
Silence fell for a moment. Then, Evelynn decides to break the ice.
"Here's the deal. Ahri and I are starting a K-Pop group and we are looking for a rapper..."
Akali looks surprised before figuring out why Evelynn was here.
"... you want me to join?"
"At first, it was just Ahri. I wanted someone with more experience in this business... but watching you tonight? I now understand why she wants you. You DEMAND attention and presence through your lyrics and energy. Audiences will eat that. By the way, what you have isn't taught... it's earned through hardship and though real life emotions. You are special and I refuse to let you go. However, I understand if you don't want to do this. I'll leave it up to you. Get in my car now and I will make sure you become the best rapper alive. Period. Your voice will be the first thing people hear. Your energy. Leave without me, and this is what will remain... your choice, I'm going home."
Akali waited for a moment before joining Evelynn in her car. As Akali closes the door, Evelynn looks at her. She sees Akali's hurt eyes and old scars on her arms. She sees someone slightly malnourished and exhausted. Was she living a rough life before this?
"I will go under three conditions."
Evelynn refocused herself to the conversation as Akali continued.
"First, I don't want to live by myself anymore. I'm afraid something might happen to me if I do. Second, I want to learn how to produce. If I am going to be the best rapper alive, that is a skill I want and need to know. Finally, I would like to not talk about my past for now. There are too many loose ends to talk about and I would rather they just stay in the past."
"All agreed on. Now, let's get you to your new home. Everyone is waiting..."
Akali comes back to the present. Her black and blonde hair cover part of her face as she smiles. Evelynn and Ahri helped give her this life while Kai'sa believed in her and even learned from her. It was those girls who made her today's Akali. She was grateful and happy for that. A house to call her own, loved ones, fans who adore her, and something special... the act of loving herself...
Akali hears a notification going 'Don't you trust me?' and looks at her phone.
Ahri: Hey, I picked up the rest from the airport and are coming to help you finish packing. Ready for the big move?
Akali: ... wouldn't have it any other way... see you soon!

Welcome to the Back - Interlude
Adrien centric. Basically an apology for all that chameleon induced salt I had on him during wttb.
Masterpost
Adrien sneaked a look outside. There was a gap between the panels that made up the background of the show, just large enough to peek out without being seen. It was quiet here, away from the bustling make-up artists and designers, hurrying to put finishing touches on their assigned models. His father wasn’t among them of course. He was Gabriel Agreste and didn’t need to improve anything, his designs long since perfected during late nights in his atelier. And he had full faith in his son!
(“I trust that you know how important this is,” he had said this morning, with face like marble, “how crucial it is to not lose face when working with the competition. I have no doubt you will behave accordingly.”)
Still. His happiness that his father had taken the time to build him up did not keep him from scanning the crowd for him. Was he there already? Or would he arrive in a way his mother called “fashionably late”?
Sighing, he turned away from the panels. He wasn’tsad that his father didn’t visit him before the show. Really, he had already talked to him only hours ago and was doubtlessly busy; Adrien shouldn’t be selfish.
Besides, it wasn’t like he was on his own.
“Are you nervous?”, he asked the other model when he returned to their private changing room. “There are so many people out there!”
Felix Leanne rolled his eyes, but his finger was tapping on the table relentlessly.
“Of course there are many people. Otherwise this whole ordeal wouldn’t be worth the hassle.”
“You’re dodging the question,” Adrien noted with a tiny hint of smugness. He liked Felix, even though he was a little cold sometimes. They had worked together often enough to be on friendly terms, both being the only models of each other’s age in their shoots. Both fairly isolated, both so busy.
Felix sighed.
“I’m not. Nervous, I mean. Just impatient.”
His eyes flitted towards the door.
“Mum… Mum said I can start accompanying her to work if I do well tonight. I’d get to see how everything actually works! I wrote down so many questions I want to ask. I just want to be able to askthem already.”
Adrien frowned.
“Aren’t you a little too young to be so interested in… company math?”
“We’re the same age, Adrien.”
“Exactly! The same youngage.” He couldn’t hold in a deep sigh. “If mymom offered to let me do anything I want, I would ask to go to a real school. No more homeschooling, just… doing something normal for once. I’d get to meet so many people, to make so many friends!”
Felix pretended to shudder.
“Ugh, people. Horrific.” He ignored Adrien’s giggling. “Seriously, they’re everywhere.”
“I bet you could go to school with me!” he, in turn, ignored Felix’ nagging. “Then we’d already know someone there. Plus Chloé, of course.”
Felix grimaced at the name but refrained from commenting. He’d learned that Adrien didn’t handle it well if you openly disliked his only friend. He wouldn’t have had the time, anyway, because just then a blur of oranges and yellows stormed into the room, carrying dozens of safety pins and wearing several dozens more clipped to her dress.
“Felix!”, Evelynn Leanne squealed, “you look wonderful, darling, navy blue just makes your eyes pop! Let me see the jacket, will you? Oh, this looks a little tight! It doesn’t chafe, does it? Does it?”
“Mum, stop it! Personal space, please.”
Felix pulled a face when his mother gave his jacket one last tug before stepping back.
“Of course, of course. It’s just… Ugh, you look adorable! Doesn’t he, Ms. Cess?”
The Leanne’s assistant, a round black woman that looked absolutely unshakable, gave Felix a small smile.
“He looks like a professional.”
Felix didn’t beam. Adrien was sure his face was physically incapable to. But the hint of a smile that graced his usually tight lips might be his version of that.
“Thank you,” he said genuinely, before sobering up again. “Now, if you’d leave me to prepare? Also, I’m pretty sure you have more than one design to check up on.”
Evelyn sighed, just the way her son was prone to do.
“Let me have my moment, will you? But fine! I still haven’t heard any news from the missing accessory line, and that Sancœur lady was very adamant that it be complete. Good luck, Felix! You too, Adrien! Love your tie, by the way.”
He perked up immediately.
“Thank you, Madame Leanne!”, he tried to answer, but Felix was already hurrying her and Mademoiselle Cess out of the door. When they were gone, his coworker was leaning against the door in relief and Adrien’s throat felt weirdly tight.
“Sorry about that,” Felix said nonchalantly, “she’s been a little clingy since… you know.”
Of course. The divorce, he’d read about it in the newspaper. He couldn’t imagine how horrible it would be to lose his father like that, how terrible Felix must feel.
“Are you okay?” the (slightly) older boy asked after a moment. “You were so quiet.”
Adrien shook his head, shushing those thoughts.
“Of course! Your mother is great, I just… Mine can’t be here today. She’s still not feeling well.”
An understatement, he feared. His father wouldn’t let him into her room to say goodbye before he went to the show. He was just worried, of course! And he’d explained it to him.
(“Don’t bother your mother now, Adrien. She needs her rest.”
“I just wanted to see her before the show. To say goodbye- “
His father flinched at that; his tone sharp.
“There’s no need to- She’ll still be here after the show! Don’t- Don’t let your nerves get the better of you.”
Then, a little softer: “You can talk to her tomorrow.”)
Felix looked at him through somber blue eyes.
“I’m… sorry to hear that. But your father will be here, yes?”
Hurrying to smile, Adrien nodded.
“Yes, we’ll drive home together.”
At that, Felix’ eyes narrowed.
“Uh… great? But before that he’ll want to see you, won’t he?”
To be honest, he was never quite sure what his father wanted. But that wasn’t what this was about, anyway!
“He is very busy,” Adrien explained. “Managing the Show, and all that. But that’s alright! It’s very important to him, and I’m happy to be part of it. It makes me feel… I don’t know, closer to him.”
Felix’ did not relent.
“But don’t you want him to say Good Luck or something? Surely, he can’t be thatbusy.”
“Well…” he admitted. “I… I did hope he’d come by. Like your mom always does. But I don’t want to be greedy! He’s needed elsewhere, probably.”
He straightened.
“Besides, I don’t want to complain to you. With all that… divorce business you’ve already got on your shoulders.”
It was a cheap trick to change the topic, but it worked. Felix scoffed and turned away.
“Oh please, I’m happymy Dad isn’t here. Not that he would care, anyway. I barely saw him even before Mum kicked him out, and what I saw of him was distant, dismissive and derogatory at best. Really, I could never see him again and not lose any sleep about it.”
Adrien couldn’t believe anyone could truly feel that way about their father. Sure, he was disappointed in his father from time to time, sometimes even angry. But he was still, well, his father.
“I’m sure he does love you.”, he tried to comfort his friend. “Maybe if you gave him another chance, he would- “
“I don’t want to talk about it.” Felix snapped, still not looking at him. “He had thirteen years’ worth of chances. I won’t let him… I won’t stand for that kind of inconsequence.”
With that, he straightened his shoulders and turned around.
“Besides, you’re hardly unbiased. It’s rather obvious you’re projecting.”
His voice was harsher than intended and it showed. No sooner than he said it, his eyes widened and he looked away.
“I… I meant…”
“I’m not projecting.”, Adrien said. His voice was oddly quiet to his own ears, and his chest felt cold. “I’m not- I love my père. He’s not- I love him. You don’t know him. He’s just- I’m sure you love your father too, deep down.”
He didn’t know what his own face looked like, but Felix looked stricken.
“Yes,” he said softly, caving, “I guess so. I didn’t mean to imply…”
“It’s okay,” Adrien quickly assured him. No need to be so upset. He was just getting emotional again, and that so close to the beginning of the show. “I know you didn’t mean it that way. I’ll just…” – he pointed towards the door – “…leave you to, y’know, prepare.”
He was out of the room before Felix could protest, towards the back entrance. He needed air, just for a moment. To ground himself.
The heavy door swung open and the security personnel outside gave him a curious glance, but let him pass without question. Cool evening air hit him, soothing and clear. It helped. It always helped.
He could always think more clearly when he was outside. Felix hadn’t meant to say that. He hadn’t meant it, because it wasn’t true. Adrien’s father wasn’t dismissive. He wasn’t distant. He cared, and he loved him. Adrien knew it. So what if-
The crash of a shutting door around the corner caught his attention.
“…know who I am?!”, an angry voice shouted. “I have a right to be here!”
Curious, Adrien came closer until he could see the speaker. A light-haired man with impressive sideburns and an expensive looking suit was raging against a closed door, or rather the person who had shut it.
“You can’t keep me out! Tell her that! Tell her she’s a- “
The man fell silent when he spotted Adrien.
“What are you looking at, boy?!” he snarled and Adrien took a step back. Oh god, had he been staring?
“S-sorry,” he muttered, “I didn’t mean to- “
That’s when he noticed his eyes. Blue-grey, like cold stone. Like Felix’ eyes.
“Monsieur- Monsieur Leanne?”, he asked tentatively. The man in front of him flinched, then towered over him with something in his eyes Adrien couldn’t place. It frightened him.
“It’s Bordeaux.”, he spit, emphasizing every syllable, “René Bordeaux. And who are you?!”
Oh god, he was doing everything wrong today. Leanne was Felix’ mother’slast name.
“Adrien- Adrien Agreste,” he pressed out, not knowing whether to apologize or to run. His fear was misplaced, however. Within mere seconds Monsieur Bordeaux relaxed, all hints of aggression evaporating like boiling spaghetti water.
“Agreste!”, he said cheerfully, a dizzying contrast to his previous demeanor, “Gabriel’s boy, I take it?”
“Y… yes!”, Adrien confirmed quickly, relieved that the situation was apparently saved. Had he imagined Monsieur Bordeaux’s anger? There was no trace of it now! Perhaps he had read the situation wrong… it wouldn’t be the first time. “Yes, that’s me.”
“Well, I’m a big fan!”, the reporter beamed. “Of you andyour dad. Excited for the show? You must be so nervous, being the main star!”
Flattered, Adrien shrugged.
“Oh, it’s not… not a big deal. But thank you, Monsieur Bordeaux.”
“But it is!”, Bordeaux insisted. “Call me René, young man, no need for formalities.”
He put a hand on his shoulder, lowering his voice.
“To be honest, I’m very impressed how well you are handling all this pressure. I have a son your age, and I know he would be at a total loss for what to do.”
“Oh. Oh!”, Adrien realized, “You mean Felix! I’m actually working with him tonight!”
“Oh? You don’t say!”
“It’s true! He’s doing great, though. A real professional!”
Monsieur- René sighed.
“I’d love to believe that. The Felix I know tends to be… stubborn. I fear he’ll refuse help from everyone, even those who have his best interest at heart.”
Adrien frowned. That was true, Felix was stubborn. But Adrien hadn’t noticed anything the other boy might need help with, so he couldn’t judge. It just didn’t sit right with him that his dad didn’t believe Felix could do it.
“Really, you can be proud of him!”, he tried again. “He’s gonna be flawless, you’ll see at the- oh.”
Another mistake. René wouldn’t see his son, because he was not allowed at the show.
“Well, yes.”, Felix’ father agreed, patting him on the back as if to say ‘no worries’. “There’s the problem, you see?”
“I’m sorry for that.”
“Ah, don’t be! It’s not your fault. Really, that’s between me and Evelyn. She just… doesn’t want me to be a part of Felix’ life anymore. All because of some small mistakes I made. And now, now Felix will never…”
“Give you a chance.”, Adrien concluded. René smiled wistfully.
“Exactly. I just want… another, uh, chance.”
He was looking into the distance, before promptly jumping up and turning to him.
“Wait a minute! You are the star of the evening! What if youbrought me in with you? Then I could see Felix before the show!”
Adrien blinked. He… he could do that! But…
“I… I don’t think that would be a good idea. Felix said he doesn’t want to see you.”
“Oh, I’m sure he did. But sometimes, what people say they want, and what they need are two entirely different things!”
…that sounded familiar, but not quite right.
“I don’t understand.”
“See,” René began, crouching down to his height, “take your dad! He’s probably very busy, isn’t he?”
He didn’tflinch.
“That’s fine! I am supporting him!”, Adrien said, voice sharper than intended.
“Of course you do! And you probably tell him that. You don’t wanna nag him, am I right?”
Slowly, he nodded.
“But surely, deep down, you would like him to see you more, wouldn’t you?”
“I… I guess. And you think Felix is the same? Even though he is mad at you?”
“Let me put it that way. I did some tinythings wrong, and now Felix wants to punish me for it. But you make mistakes too, don’t you? And you don’t want to be abandoned for them either.”
“No!”, he gasped, horrified, “No, of course not!”
“See? And you’re right! Know why?”
René gestured into the distance.
“There’s good people, and there are evil people, who do evil things, like bombing churches, or kicking puppies. But people like you and I – Good People, the rightkind of people – wecan change.
“...or explain why we didn’t do anything wrong in the first place. There’s always two sides, and all that. Nothing is made better if everyone just turns away from us! Punishing us for mistakes doesn’t make them disappear. Only if we are given another chance we can make things right.”
Something still didn’t sit right with Adrien, but he couldn’t put his finger on it.
“But… but what if the mistake is really bad?”
René’s face darkened, before lighting up again.
“Clever kid, you! Even then, punishing bad things never made them good, am I right? You can only” – he snapped his finger – “suck it up and support others to do better. And you are exactly the kind of person who would know better, clever as you are. Really, Felix could take a page from your book!”
He stood up, looking down on him.
“So, what do you say, young man? Do you wanna be my hero and help a worried father care for his son?”
Adrien looked back at the private entrance. The security people who would do as he said. The building his own father was probably in.
“I…”
Felix would thank him, eventually, right?
“I’ll do it.”
-
“So, here we are!”, Adrien announced to his companion. “Welcome to the back... stage. This is the hallway that leads to the stage, there you’ll arrive at the stairs to the audience, and here’s the way to our private changing room! Do you want me to tell Felix you are coming, or do you want to talk alone?”
René wasn’t looking at him. His eyes were darting over the many settings on his camera, then towards the changing room.
“Know what, kid? Maybe don’t tell Felix I’m here just yet.”
Adrien’s smile faltered.
“But… but the show is going to start soon! Don’t you want to wish him good luck?”
“Ah, don’t worry about it.”, René dismissed with a wave of his hand, “Luck is the last thing he needs. Tell you what, I have something… special planned. You don’t want to ruin the surprise, do you?”
That made sense. He shook his head, and the reporter grinned.
“That’s what I thought. No off you go, get ready for your modeling gig!”
Adrien’s chest felt tight. He didn’t like the expression in René’s eyes. But he had been wrong so often. Felix would thank him eventually, he reminded himself. René just needed another chance.
Felix would thank him.
-
Felix did not thank him.
An hour later, there was press everywhere, and at least one police car. Adrien was lost and stumbling around between running people. Camera’s clicked, someone was yelling, he could see Felix’ mom talking to an officer. Her make-up was running. Was she crying?
“Adrien!”, a hoarse voice yelled, and suddenly Felix was there, pulling at his arm, “What did you do?!”
His eyes weren’t like stone anymore. They looked like thawing ice. Cold and watering andbreaking.
“I-”
“What did you do?!”
“I only wanted- I was just- “
“What?! Whatwere you?! Trying to ruin everythingfor me!?”
“No! I didn’t think- “
“There you are!”, a familiar voice called and Adrien almost sagged in relief. Nathalie pulled him away from Felix with no effort at all, instructing the security personnel to drag the kicking and cursing boy back to his mother. Then she pulled Adrien with her, towards the private box where his father sat.
Adrien gulped.
Gabriel Agreste was utterly motionless, looking down upon the chaos below. Not a hair was out of place, not the hint of an emotion in his eyes.
“That would be all, Nathalie.”, he said simply, and Nathalie let go of Adrien to return to her tablet.
“Father…”, he said, voice breaking. “I don’t understand what happened. Did I… did I do something wrong?”
His father was still watching the crowd below. The press, trying to get a shot of Evelyn Leanne. The police, running around and interviewing people. A blonde boy in navy blue, so small from above, blocking his ears and trying escape the cameras.
A show in ruins.
“Sir,” Nathalie spoke up again, before Gabriel could even turn to his son, “we heard back from Madame Bourgeois. She wants to reconsider doing her Fashion Highlights article about the Gabriel Brand instead of Leanne’s. And there’s a British perfume company looking for a new partner in fashion.”
With that, Gabriel stood up. His son lowered his head, trying to sink into the ground before the yelling could begin. But instead of raising his voice, his father raised his hand and –
“Let’s go home, Adrien.”
–…pat him on the shoulder.
“Father?”
He was confused. He’d been so sure this was his fault, that he had messed up somehow.
“Shouldn’t I- shouldn’t I go talk to Felix first?”
His father looked past him, towards the Leanne’s.
“I doubt you will be working with him again.”, was his reply. He looked almost… content when he turned away from the scene. “Let’s not waste our breath.”
With that, Gabriel Agreste started walking away.
And Adrien, ever the obedient son, followed.
Many things would happen between that fateful night, and another night that promised to be even more fateful.
Adrien had lost his mother.
Adrien had gained friends.
Adrien had gone to school; Adrien had left it.
He had been a hero and a villain, and through it all, a child.
A child that had to be better. A child that now knew, he could become what had become of René Bordeaux.
A child that would not.
He would not become like Bordeaux. Like Lila. He wouldn’t allow it.
And he would prove it!
He would do better, be better. So that he could return to school, to his friends, and show them that he wouldn’t let them down again. If they’d still have him.
He would show Nino that he’d never ever lie again.
He would show Alya that he’d never let her be used again.
He would show Marinette that he would never abandon her again.
And… he would show Felix that he got it now. That he wouldn’t disappoint him again.
And maybe, that would show Ladybug that she had been right to trust him one last time. Even if it wasn’t as her partner.
The door to his room opened, and Adrien held his breath. Nathalie would have knocked.
“Adrien,” his father greeted him, an even for him atypical amount on tension in his face, “we need to talk.”
“We do,” Adrien agreed, opening the tab with the list of therapists he’d been considering. Then he remembered himself and bit his lip. “Uh, you go first.”
He didn’t know if his father had even heard him. He was turned towards the window, before looking back at his son.
“I always wondered… I knew you were hiding something. Your behavior was so… unlike yourself.”
Adrien’s brow furrowed.
“Father?”
“I am not mad at you Adrien, though I admit, at first…”
He turned around, simmering anger in his usually cool eyes.
“I couldn’t believe you would be able to hide something of that importance from me. Clearly, I was wrong.”
“Father, I- “
“No. Listen to me, Adrien. This might be our chance, our onlychance. Your mother’s only chance.”
The room seemed to get colder. Gabriel talked on.
“I never thought I would be able to involve you, always thinking you might be too… fragile. I see now that this was a mistake. If I had been more open in my endeavor, this would have ended a long time ago. But maybe it needed to happen. It needed to happen, so that you would truly understand what needs to be done.”
What do you mean, Adrien wanted to ask, but his mouth was frozen shut. Something icy was growing in his chest. In his pocket, he clutched a colorful little lucky charm like a lifeline.
“Adrien.”
His father stepped closer.
“I know that you were Chat Noir.”
Somewhere, deep in his soul, his subconsciousness was already connecting the final dots, only waiting for his mind to catch up. It kindly refused the invitation, choosing to revel in blissful ignorance for a few more minutes.
“I… F-father, I… I swear- “
“It’s alright, son. Everything will be alright. Look at me, Adrien.”
He did. He did, and he did not know who he was looking at.
“My son,” his father said, and there was a spark in his eyes that scared him, “it seems so fitting. That all of us would carry such a burden, at one point. As if fate itself kept a close eye on our family.”
“You are Hawkmoth.”, someone said. It took both Agreste’s a few moments to realize it had been Adrien who’d said it. And even then, it took Adrien’s mind several more to put ‘blissful ignorance’ back into its box and catch up with his subconscious and mouth. The lucky charm in his pocket felt cold, so cold, like it had felt only once before.
At TV1.
“You are Hawkmoth,” he repeated, and his voice didn’t falter. Neither did his father.
“I understand if you feel… betrayed.”, the latter said slowly, pronouncing the last word like something spiky he didn’t want to get too close to. “There is much you don’t know yet. But until I show you, I need you to remember that we are family. And that we have a common goal, and since quite recently, a common enemy.”
In his head, his thoughts were racing, too fast to be of any use to him. He felt numb. But fifteen years of experience with his father had taught him when to be quiet, and when to ask questions.
“A… common enemy?”
“Yes.”
His father smiled. It looked wrong.
“You were a hero. You were the Black Cat, you were Chosen. But they took that from you. The moment you didn’t meet their expectations anymore, they tossed you aside. As if you hadn’t sacrificed so much for them. I saw you, everything you did for them. For her.”
“Ladybug.”
The word felt odd in his mouth, as if it didn’t want to be said. His father’s smile widened.
“Ladybug,” he agreed, and if the name had hesitated on Adrien’s tongue, it positively rebelled on Gabriel’s. It sounded poisonous, dripping with disdain. “And the Guardian. And, not to forget, the imposter that took your place.”
Adrien looked up at him, slowly.
“You akumatized me.”
His father didn’t flinch. But he blinked, once, before stepping back.
“So I did.”
He turned around, towards the window. Towards Paris beyond, that feared him every day.
“Imagine my surprise when I learned that the one I was doing this all for was the one fighting me, all along. That the key to our happiness had been beneath my very own roof.”
He shook his head.
“The past is in the past. I know exactly how you felt, in that moment. I could feel it firsthand. How alone. Abandoned by those that should have stood with you.”
He turned back around, facing his son. For the first time in what felt like forever, there was genuine emotion on his face.
“Adrien, if you still feel that way, then we can fix it. Together. We can retrieve your Miraculous, and every other Miraculous too!”
He gripped his shoulder with unexpected strength, eyes wide.
“Adrien, I know just how deep Ladybug’s betrayal cut you. But now that you see her for what she really is, you have the power to make her regret. To take back what you deserve, what you are owed.”
He remembered Lila. Her power to make people believe anything. Just by knowing what they wanted to hear.
“Imagine it, son.”
Adrien imagined.
Being Chat Noir once more. The thing in his life he had loved so much, so much.
But he knew, it hadn’t been the costume he’d loved. When he thought of being Chat Noir, he thought of Plagg’s annoying voice. His constant company, his purrs. He thought of Ladybug and laughter, and racing over rooftops with someone that believed in him.
He thought of escape. Why did he want to escape?
Alone. Abandoned by those that should have stood with you.
He hadbeen alone, for so long. He had been abandoned.
“I love you, Father.”
He looked up. His father looked confused.
“I will always love you.”, he added, and the words felt right. They felt true. He smiled.
“Of course I will help you! I have always supported you, no matter what.”
Because what else could he do?
“I knew I could trust you.”
He was no hero anymore.
“I am so proud of you.”
And he was no villain either.
“You’ll see, Adrien.”
He was a child.
“It will all be worth it, in the end.”
A child that knew he could become everything his father wanted him to be.
A child thatwould not.
“Of course, Father.”
He would not become like Bordeaux. Like Lila.
Like Gabriel Agreste.
“Let me show you the reason for all this.”
Adrien felt like he knew already. Like it would be painful. Like it still wouldn’t change anything. And yet, he smiled. He smiled, the exact same smile he had always worn when his father ignored another birthday. The smile for when his father turned his back yet again. The smile that was so false it hurt.
The smile that would have given him away if his father had looked at him just a little bit closer, those past few years.
“I’m right behind you,” he said, reaching out with one hand for his father’s, with the other for his phone. He had no way to contact Ladybug now. But he knew someone who could. Whose lucky charm was in his pocket, comforting and warmonce again.
He wasn’t scared. He wasn’t angry. He knew exactly what needed to happen, and that she would makeit happen.
“With your help, Adrien, this will all be over soon.”
Alone. Abandoned.
Oh yes.
Distant, dismissive, derogatory.
He was right.
I will not disappoint you.
More so than he knew.
“My son,” his father said, and Adrien was so sure he could see love in his eyes. “Now I know that we will be victorious.”
With that, Gabriel Agreste started walking away.
And Adrien, no longer the obedient son, followed.

I Hid What I Became, a K/DA fanfic:
Chapter 1 - This isn’t You
Waking up with sweat running down her face and a scream escaping her mouth.
Akali swung her legs over the side of her bed, when a hand grasped her shoulder.
Akali knew who grabbed her shoulder, the familiar touch of soft skin and the scratch of long acrylic nails.
"Darling what's going on?" Asked the feminine figure that laid on the other side of the bed.
"Nothing..." a long pause "Just go back to bed Eve." Akali breathed out.
Evelynn closed her eyes falling back to a comfortable sleep.
Akali finally let it out and silently cried what tears would fall.
She stood up and walked to the bathroom closing and locking the door turning the overhead light on as she did so.
In a matter of seconds she pulled out a hidden razor blade and cut into her left wrist.
Grunts and near cries of pain came erupting from her mouth.
Quickly she turned the sink on cold and watched as the bloody water washed down the drain.
Akali wrapped her left wrist in gauze and called it a night.
Turning off the sink and Turning the light off she walked out of the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
Akali's eyes landed on the feminine figure that laid in her bed sleeping peacefully. Or so she thought.
"You can't fool me anymore, kali." Evelynn spoke.
Nearly jumping out of her skin, Akali replied.
"Fool you? What makes you think that?"
"Don't play dumb kali I know your cutting yourself. I've seen the bloody residue, heard the screams and whimpers."
"So what if I am cutting? It's not like you can stop me!"
Evelynn got up out of bed so fast, she grabbed Akali's wrists holding them front of her band mates face.
"Your skin is not paper Akali! Don't cut it please." Evelynn begged
"I'm not sorry Evelynn, I have my reasons why!" Akali argued "Believe it or not Evelynn I love the pain it makes feel whole again."
Eyes watering Evelynn speaks,
"I love you kali, but please you can't keep doing this."
"This thing it's over. We never happened!"
"Kali I love you!" Evelynn said
"If you loved me you would have been there when I killed those people when the nightmares began!"

Note
it’s something that’s planned ahead. and with each day that passes, the date draws closer and closer, and akali has to physically stop herself from vibrating with excitement, from being all over evelynn like an affectionate cat. but it’s in her expression. her smiles a touch brighter, her eyes twinkling with barely contained fondness and glee. of course she’s happy—who wouldn’t be happy about their girlfriend’s birthday?
“babe,” she hums in greeting as she presses a kiss to evelynn’s cheek, leaning over her shoulder from behind. they’re just about to settle down for the day, merely minutes before midnight. “had ahri give us a break for some time, ‘specially since we’ve been busy lately with all the photoshoots ‘n’ all. think i’m seeing dots in my vision still, actually!” the rapper laughs, wrapping her arms around her diva in a hug, swaying.
“and i know you hate all the bright stuff on you too, baby. people just don’t know when to quit.” a huff now, burying her face into the crook of evelynn’s neck. “would’ve kicked their asses too if you let me. bet ahri and bokkie would’ve had a fit, though. mostly ahri. we both know how she gets with us.” she smiles into evelynn’s skin, cheeky. the minutes continue to count down, akali all too aware of it.
“let’s go to bed, yeah? we can stay in all day later if you wanna.” there’s a barest hint of an invitation in there, but akali doesn’t give it too much emphasis. she wants to bring her closer to the bedside drawer. her hands have a mind of their own though, brushing against any exposed skin they can find. when she glances at the digital clock on the nightstand, she looks at it just in time to watch it turn to 12:00 AM. eve’s birthday. then she can’t contain herself anymore, laughing once more and shifting her position to kiss evelynn right on her lips.
“happy birthday, babygirl!” she cheers, pulling away with a grin. “i got you something!” the drawer is pulled open to reveal a large velvety box, ribbons holding it close with a card on top that reads:
to: the love of my life ❤️
“open it!” she says, grabbing the gift and giving it to her woman.
inside it would be a necklace—or rather, necklaces, magnetized together to form a heart, their names inscribed into it.
happy birthday eve!
evelynn's day wasn't mean to drag on so long.
first it's a meeting that lingers a few moments past, then it's robin calling her into his office for a chat regarding something. finally abel texts her, urgently requesting her presence at the farm. while really, she didn't want to go, putting it off to the next day seemed like a worse idea -- and akali seemed rather ... impatient?
no, that's not quite it.
her girlfriend's been rather warm. affectionate, even. it's endearing, and evelynn's rather appreciative after her day. she sits now at the edge of her bed, long sharp digits idly stroking her hair as akali begins to speak. though she offers a hums at first, she tilts her head in acknowledgement. " you know she means well, darling. " she coos, continuing to tend to her hair. " the photoshoots have been rather annoying, though. "
a soft moan rumbles from evelynn's throat as akali nuzzles closer. " you can't get ahri to change her mind about how to feed. trust me, i've tried. " there's a sigh too that the demon gives, hand shifting to scratch at the back of akali's head. she's no clue to the rather intense focus akali gives to the clock.
" all day, hm? " that, if nothing else, has caught evelynn's attention. she allows a laugh to escape from her lips, craning her neck to grant herself a better look. " careful, i might just hold you to that. "
akali's movements are sudden then, caught off guard by her laughter -- furthermore by the kiss brought to her lips. evelynn barely has time to recuperate it before the rapper draws herself away, and t he demon cannot help the lovestruck smile that grows upon seeing such excitement. it's not until the cheer greets her ears that she realizes what has akali such a way.
confusion takes hold for only a short moment, brows furrowing as she wonders how she let the date escape her. or perhaps, it's never truly her dare but rather something she's claimed for the sake of appearing well ... human. her mind stalls for a second before she catches up, standing in attempts to match the energy her girlfriend gives. " thank you, honey. "
though unsure at first, her smile now is grand, only growing upon reading the note on top of the gift. evelynn's quick to glance at akali, only obliging to her request after she speaks.
" darling really, i didn't need anything -- " her mouth opens ajar, eyes widening upon the sight of the necklaces. her hands then cradle the box, one index finger trailing the 24k gold and over the inscribes of their names. her lips part, unable to find words before she begins to put the box gently aside and takes akali's hands in her's.
" thank you. " and she means it, it's likely the most sincere thing she's said all day. " i love it -- and you. "

No Soul
(Eve x Ahri, Ahri based off of @omahazir )
Ahri woke up, slumped over the arm of the couch in the K/DA living room. She tried to move, but her body was stiff and sore, her neck searing red with pain as she tried to move it. She let out a groan and then clenched her teeth. She rolled over to her side and pushed up. She got herself to stand up, but the pain was still there, now more intense than before. It was agonizing really... What happened last night? Ahri looks around, but the room is pristine; the only thing out of place was Akali's empty water bottle on the floor next to the table. She began searching her mind for hints of what could have happened, but everything is turning up blank. Was she even with anyone?
Ahri tries to stretch out her arms, but they're a bit too stiff yet. She notices a sparkle of blue on her left hand. She sees the back of her hand and spots an lip marking unmistakably belonging to Evelynn. It was her color and her plump lip mark. Evelynn!
"Evelynn!" Ahri called out. "Evelynn? Where are you? What happened to me?"
Out of nowhere, Evelynn puts her hand on Ahri's shoulder and laughs a bit. "Ahri darling..." She says, the words oozing out of her mouth. "Whatever do you mean? You were there too."
"Eve- I don't remember anything! What happened." Ahri asks. She doesn't turn her neck, as the pain is too much, but she wants to get to the bottom of what happened.
"You passed out drunk on the couch. Look at you, you're a mess." Evelynn says. She turns Ahri to let her face a window. Her hair is in total disarray and her makeup looks like she had been crying profusely. Ahri touches her face and looks down at her clothes. They're all wrinkled and there's a distinct red stain on her skirt. Is that....
"Evelynn... We can't keep doing this...." Ahri says. She can feel tears wanting to well up in her eyes, but there seems to be none left.
Evelynn smiles and turns Ahri so she's facing her. "It wasn't me this time." She says. "Well, not completely. I only... cleaned up."
"Evelynn, skip the bullshit, what did you do!?" Ahri pushes Evelynn back a little bit clearly upset.
"I didn't do anything! You went to my car, a few thugs grabbed you and when I came to get you, one was already dead and the other two were trying to pull you off." Evelynn explains. "I cleaned you up a bit, but you wouldn't stop crying on the way home."
Ahri looks down. She notices a few more bloodstains on her clothes, but it doesn't.... it doesn't feel right. Evelynn's story makes sense, that's why she'd be sore and it would upset her if that happened, but why couldn't she remember anything? Why would Evelynn bring her home, only to leave her on the couch a filthy mess?
It still feels weird. Ahri's stomach churns and she feels like she's going to throw up.
"The bodies?" Ahri whispers softly.
"Taken care of. They don't exist anymore." Evelynn says.
"Evelynn I...."
There's a small pause.
"That didn't happen, did it? You're lying to me, aren't you?"
Usually Ahri never questions Evelynn. Someone so strong, cunning, and quite honestly dangerous, wouldn't think twice about killing someone for the fun of it, or if they questioned their unholy authority. This felt more pressing than usual. She had to take the risk.
There's a slight pause that hangs so heavy in the air, Ahri feels like she's about to fall through the earth. Evelynn's eyes turn from sympathy, to pure anger for a second, then back to sympathy, although she seems to be forcing it.
"That's what happened." Evelynn says as she begins to walk to the kitchen. She takes a glass out of the cupboard and then goes to the refrigerator. Ahri notices Evelynn loom immaculate. She was a professional killer, but would she really look like this after disposing of three bodies? Ahri notices Evelynn's knuckles as Evelynn digs around the fridge for a moment. They're a bit swollen for some reason. Ahri's cheek begins to tingle. Her hand reaches up to feel and she notices how tender her cheek is.
Evelynn pulls out a water bottle and pours it into the glass. Evelynn notices Ahri's checking out her body, so she quickly circles the rim of the glass with her fingertip. A quick flash of purple shimmers through the water, then dilutes cleanly into the clear fluid.
"Drink. You're hungover." Evelynn says as she gives the glass to Ahri. Ahri takes the glass and looks down. Evelynn wasn't a poison kind of killer, so she wasn't worried about that, but this just all seemed... off.
Ahri puts the glass up to her lips and swallows some and instantaneously, her body feels warm as her heart begins to pump.
"T-thank Evelynn..." Ahri says, her voice a bit high. What is... what's this feeling?
"Feel better? You must have been so dehydrated after crying and drinking last night." Evelynn says, giving Ahri her sympathy eyes again.
"Yeah... I must have been." Ahri begins to believe Evelynn more and more. She remembers the three people now! She remembers... hazes of them... Everything is so fuzzy but it's coming back slowly.
"Go clean up." Evelynn says, patting Ahri's shoulder and smiling. "You're a mess. I'll check up on you in a few hours."
Ahri nods as Evelynn leaves. She takes another sip of water and her body feels warmer. The water must really be helping, just like Evelynn said, Ahri thinks. As she heads to her room, she closes her eyes and tries to picture last night. Nothing comes up, just a haze of figures rushing towards her and then... nothing. Black. No... wait. She can hear... a scream. Her scream! It's her voice. But the figures weren't there. It was one. One figure.
Ahri sets the water down on the table and tries to think, but nothing is coming to her. Evelynn's voice comes in her head, her explanation of things. She feels no choice but to believe it. That's what her memories said, right? Evelynn wouldn't lie to her like that. No, she loved Ahri. She wouldn't lie.
The stings on her cheek fades as she heads to her room.
Evelynn sits in her own room and burns a small picture of Ahri with a lighter.

There’s a rapt knock to his office door, before Evelynn pokes her head in through the small gap with a curious gaze. “You called, darling?”
═══ UNPROMPTED INTERACTIONS ═══ MODERN VERSE
"Miss Evelynn! Yes, I wanted to introduce you!" He was quick to perk up as soon as she entered the room, a bolt of happiness striking across him as he held something rather close to his chest and approached her swiftly. "I wanted you to be one of the first to meet him, his name is Ham Sandwich." And within his grasp laid a small kitten, vulnerable and weak...a drop of milk still on the fur around its mouth, perhaps it had drank so much that it passed out before it could even clean its face. Evident by its round tummy and the soft, content purrs echoing from its form...languid breaths revealing how utterly relaxed it was.
Pale eyes slowly opened and flicked over to Evelynn, his orange head tilting to the side and shockingly the animal stayed calm within her presence. Perhaps it was because of how relaxed Ham's owner was, how Robin moved ever closer to Evelynn and presented the little kitten like a prized gem. Words of praise erased the assistant's usual accent to remind her where he was originally from,
"Isn't he just the darn sweetest thing you've ever seen? Danny," No need to hide that when it was just the two of them, "-found him in a lot by his job and took him home, so we've been bottle feeding him and raising him. And look," Robin lifted the kitten's paw, plump and round, perfect little pink beans showing as he pressed down to show off cute claws, "You two match!"

Sneak Peek from ACT 20 of "We Found Love"
Scene from ACT 20
"If you wanted to, Eve, can you destroy someone's reputation just like that?"
"Not to be arrogant, but yes, darling. With all the connections I have in the industry, I can burn someone down from the business with just one phone call."
"Oh..." Was it weird that Akali wasn't afraid of encountering the same fate as Darius and the other men Evelynn used to date?
"This is probably the part where I tell you that you don't have to worry about that." Evelynn gave Akali a boop on the nose before she briefly focused her attention on driving the car forward. She turned back to Akali once they were back to a jam. "I would never do anything like that to you."
"Even if we break up?"
"And who says we're going to break up?"
Akali stilled and resisted the shudder that threatened to rock her entire body. Evelynn had reached across from her seat and was teasingly caressing her inner thigh above her jeans. When the diva took notice of her suppressed reaction, the smirk on her face became a mischievous grin.
"I'm greedy, Akali. I know I don't deserve someone like you, especially with everything I've done to my past lovers, but I don't care. I still want you to be mine."
"E-Eve..." Akali bit her lower lip when Evelynn leaned towards her and kissed along her cheek and jaw. She felt Evelynn grasp her thigh in a firm clutch, fingernails scraping against the denim.
"I don't want you to moan anyone's name but mine, alright?"
Akali nodded, self-consciously glancing at the tinted windows of the car. She knew her face was back to its reddened state and Evelynn had an unobscured view of it. "Yes, Eve."
"And these legs of yours," Evelynn inched her hand closer until her fingers were playing with the zipper. Akali nearly twitched, despite the fact that her fly was still closed. "you spread them for no one else but me."
A tad bit shakily, Akali nodded again. "I promise."

Shooting (Pop/) Stars
Mini fic! (644 words) Inspired by my last headcannon asks about Kai’sa and stars. Hope you enjoy!
XXX
"Do you guys want to stay up with me and look at the stars?"
Kai'sa did not expect that all of the girls would actually join her. She thought maybe Akali would get too sleepy to stay up. Ahri might have to excuse herself because she needs to do another business call. And Evelynn might have straight up not wanted to lay on the lawn. But here they are, with blankets, flashlights, and snacks in their arms as they make their designated spot more comfortable.
Evelynn had made Akali's spot by laying down a fluffy blanket on the grass and was in the process of laying down another one. "Kai'sa, I made you a spot. I'll be on Akali's left side, you can be on her right."
"What about me?" Ahri asked in that coy foxy voice.
"Make your own damn spot," Evelynn grumbled, already laying down next to Akali.
"Wow, maybe I will!" Ahri bickered back.
"I'll make your spot, Ahri," Kai'sa offered, already laying down the blanket so Ahri and Evelynn won't go into another of their spiel.
The four of them laid on the lawn in their backyard, the spot they designated was empty of trees so they got a clear view of the sky. It was glittered in stars, the sky was crystal clear, and the air felt fresh and cool on their skins. Kai'sa looked over to Ahri, then to Akali and Evelynn, and smiled. This…this was special.
Stars, to Kai'sa, symbolized hope, freedom, and peace. In her worst of times, in those Void times, Kai'sa prayed to whatever god could hear her to let her see the stars. In a blank, dark canvas, the stars where her salvation, her driving force to survive. The loose string that pulled her away from the darkness that consumed her soul.
Kai'sa pointed up to the sky when she saw something moving, "Shooting star! Quick, make a wish!"
"Wait, where?!" Akali asked. "Is it gone? Damn…"
"It's okay, darling, I only saw the tail end of it. But I'm sure you'll see the next one," Evelynn assured.
"That was fast!" Ahri cried. "Kai'sa, what did you wish for?"
"Isn't that a taboo? You can't say what you wish for once you made the wish," Evelynn said.
"It's okay, Evie," Kai'sa whispered, still gazing at the stars. "My wish already came true in a way."
Kai'sa could feel three pairs of eyes on her. "My wish is that I want us to stay like this. Close and connected, even if we are far away from each other." Kai'sa could feel her eyes watering but she ignored it. "Like the stars. They're millions of light-years away yet they never leave us. They are always there, even if they are covered…even if they are blocked. You know they are there. You don't forget them…even in the Void."
Kai'sa closed her eyes. Painful memories bubbled in the back of her head, memories that brought pain and grief. Those stars were a beacon of light during those harsh times, but it didn't diminish the suffering she endured.
"Sorry," Kai'sa mumbled. "Ignore me."
Instead, Kai'sa felt arms wrap around her waist, her shoulder, and her own arms. One of Ahri's tail gently curled around her leg, Akali shifted to lay against Kai'sa's chest (very rare for the ninja to do), and one of Evelynn's lashers reached over and wrapped themselves around Kai'sa's waist. They didn't say anything, but their actions spoke louder than words. It reassured Kai'sa that they will be her stars, no matter how far, they are connected in some way.
"We'll always be pop stars together, Bokkie."
Kai'sa wasn't sure who said it, maybe they all said it, but regardless, it moved her heart. She smiled, embracing the comforting silence as the four of them continued to gaze at the stars twinkling in the sky.
