evelyn rushed through the front door, taking her shoes off after a ‘stressful’ day at school. she immediately calls out for matt, who is in the family room. you catch a glimpse of him on the couch with his reading glasses on, ev snuggled up in his chest as you place down her school stuff at the kitchen table. “daddy, y/n showed me a video in the car.” she explains. “it was a girl coloring in tattoos!”

matt looks up at you unamused, and you’re smiling ear to ear. you may or may not have given his daughter the nudge to ask him when you guys got to his house. he just can’t say no to her. “can we please color your tattoos?” the child begs, putting her hands together and giving her father the best pouty face she can muster. “they’re so cool!”

he rolls his eyes subtly, but kisses her on the head. “fine.”

seconds later, evelyn comes running back into the room, squealing excitedly while holding two big cases of markers. you decided to let her color in the bigger tattoos since they’re easier, and you take the smaller ones. for a five-year-old, she’s quite good at coloring inside the lines. “i’m making him rainbow!” she exclaims, tongue sticking out to focus as she colors in the owl on the outside of his bicep.

in his spot, matt tries not to move. when he does, both you and ev yell at him which results in a grumble and eye roll, yet he’s grinning while doing so.

you both are damn lucky that you’re his girls.
