I saw that there is a photography show in my county later in the year, and for about a minute I had a thought I might put something in it.

And then I remembered I have over 500,000 photos, with the only “organization” being by files for month/year.

The show isn’t until August, but I don’t see myself having time/energy for sorting through them!

Plus I am utter crap at picking out which pics are “good”. I never can begin to guess which will be popular and which will be completely ignored. How could I decide which one(s) to submit??

TBH, it would probably be a depressing experience anyway.

A decade ago I entered some stuff in a sculpture show by the same arts council. I went to the opening, and it really felt like a private club. They all knew each other. Rather pointedly they ignored both me and my “art”. Well, I did get the feed back that I sculpt too small. Naturally I started sculpting smaller that night! LOL

Anyway, I came away feeling miserably lonely….and that’s with Mom and my cousin there being encouraging. They are both dead now. Imagine how alone I would feel now that there would be no one to even keep me company?

Besides, while I don’t mind posting my pics on Tumblr where they accidentally brush up against the work of actual photographers, a show would be a different experience. Entering a show would be a claim of worth and, though the show isn’t a contest, it would be placing my photos into direct comparison to the work of people with actual ability.

Oh, and geez, I would have to do something about printing out anything I my submit. My printer is broken, which would mean actually paying to print anything. Which would mean not just cost, but figuring out where to get it done, and planning ahead enough to have the prints ready in time for the show….

Ah, well, it was nice to toy with. Like my annual wondering if I might be able to sculpt things that would make it worth investing in a booth at the comic con**. It’s a nice daydream until you think about the realities.

**It’s so absurd. I would have to get ideas of what I could make that people might actually want to buy. Then I would have to figure out how to make them affordably, and how to price them, and invest in the supplies to make them, and make a bunch of them before the con, and take into account the cost of the booth itself, and then figure out the logistics of setting up and running a booth alone, and….

And yet every single year I see people selling stuff that makes me go “Hey, my stuff is just as good!”, and think I can do it too. Well, for a few days anyway! LOL

Hiatus Decision

So, as I've said in the past, I'm moving a lot of my threads across all blogs to Discord and I've been struggling with how to keep Faith active on tumblr while still making my rp experience work for me. I've come to a decision that all blogs except Faith will be moved to discord and that my longer, more screen-accurate and content-heavy threads on Faith's blog will be the ones to make the move, as well. I work too much and I can't use tumblr's app for nothing, lol.

What will move to discord: Anything long-form, novella stuff. Anything really dark, scary, intense, depressing or violent. Basically, the nsfw stuff. That includes fight threads, dark themes, etc. This is also where my hyper canon stuff will be in the form of show-style scripting with moots who are very into screen-accurate stuff.

What will stay on tumblr: Threads where my rp partner prefers tumblr, shorter threads, casual verses and shippy things. Basically, I'm going to use tumblr for Faith's lighter, less dark and heavy content.

Shipping: I made the decision to reopen her to new ships in verses where she's not already paired off. I fully suck at shipping so we'll see how that goes.

I'll still be very slow here, I'm trying to juggle three jobs and responsibilities at home and make it work so my tumblr time is severely limited but I'm trying! My messages are always open and you can add faithlehane on discord if you want to do discord rp things or just chat! In general, I'm faster to reply on discord. Just let me know who you are on tumblr.
