today a different wip again that I don't think I shared yet lol - writing a smutty sequel to my bucktommy post-first date fic and it's barely started but there's progress! 😅

“Say that again.” Buck says quietly, even to his own ears sounding almost frantic. His hands twist in the fabric of Tommy’s t-shirt, and pull him as close as possible with their seatbelts on. He needs to get to his place as soon as possible and get enveloped in Tommy, no room for air between them, he just needs him closer, closer, closer.

“Say what?” Tommy teases, lips brushing the shell of Buck’s ear, knowing damn well what Buck wants to hear. 

“You know what.” Buck pulls away slightly, just to meet Tommy’s eyes, and can’t stop a pout that quickly turns into an awed smile. It’s a late evening, the sky is dark, just like the inside of the car, only illuminated by the lights of the city as they’re driving, and Tommy looks so gorgeous. There’s an amused smile playing on his kiss-swollen lips, but even in the dark Buck can see his own desire mirrored in Tommy’s eyes.

“What?” he smirks, leans closer to press a kiss to his lips again. “Baby?” he whispers, and Buck shivers, a sharp gasp escaping him. Oh, he likes this. He likes when Tommy calls him just about anything, in that wonderful voice of his, but this, being called a pet name like this by a man, it’s new and thrilling, and that man being Tommy is just so exhilarating, it makes his racing heart skip a beat, and it only adds to the heat pooling in his stomach. Shit, he needs to get Tommy alone right the fuck now.

assorted dca wips i probably won't ever touch again (sorted from newest to oldest!)

very rambly explainations for each image under the cut ^_^

1.) aug 28th, 2024 -- i started this around the time where i'd just gotten into something else and basically just detached myself from the dca... and therefore all my art with them got way more experimental and personal to me and my tastes bc i'd just stopped caring about them LOL

i do wish i'd finished this one though because i love how the body looks! i don't remember ever starting this with much of a plan though and i very visibly got bored once i drew all the fun parts (i hate drawing their legs)

2.) oct 1st, 2024 -- this could technically be considered vent artwork? i wanted to make something purposefully grotesque and unnerving because i was just really angry at the fandom all the time... and it doesnt help that whenever i get into something new i go through a weird breakup phase with my old interest (which might not make sense to some people lol) which causes some weird feelings.

a less angsty thing i can mention is that i was also very purposefully trying to be more relaxed about the way i paint things here! i usually strictly adhere to a set palette i make for myself, so this drawing was me pushing myself out of that comfort zone and forcing myself to freestyle the colors a bit... the result didnt really end up how i wanted it to be though (^^;; )

3.) oct 9th, 2024 -- iirc this was me elaborating on a physical sketch i made where i was playing around with their face... i actually still really, really like this style and this drawing might've been the best way i've ever done it. fluid and expressive but still grotesque enough for it to stay true to their original design! this is the thing i reference whenever i draw them this way (and if you look at my most recent post you might notice some similarities?)

4.) may 11th, 2024 -- MANN i wish i'd finished this one!!! it was a redraw of this drawing based off of "chimera" by deco*27!! i've always associated that song with the dca but i didn't give it justice the first time i drew it due to the time constraints so i wanted to do it better!!! but then i got stuck on the hands 😭

if i was ever going to pick one of these back up again there's a good chance it'd be this one

5.) jul 18th, 2024 -- nothing truly profound to say here as this was actually just a test... never got around to adding a body to it, mainly because i just like drawing their face more than i like drawing the rest of them. you can probably look at all of these and realize that for yourself though LMAO

That mother flipper ate Morro. I am beyond mad rn.

Altho, he did say "In the afterlife, anything is possible." So, it's entirely possible that Morro can come back at some point. I really hope so bc he does not deserve to go out that way. It'd just be terrible writing.

Rogue confirmed that Arin's parent are still alive, and he knows where there are. It has something to do with the weird cemetery. I think I mentioned in a response to someone or in a reblog, but I'm thinking that they've probably lost their memory and are being kept somewhere.

Also, on Rogue, I wrote something up on my main account a while back. It's about how his mind was shattered and how there might be a way to fix it. But his mind will never be the same again. It's all based on kintsugi, which is this art form and a way to repair pieces of broken pottery. If they ever do manage to cure his shattered soul, I do believe he will never quite be the Jay we all once knew and love. Bits of him will shine thru, absolutely, but there will always be pieces of him that will never quite be whole.

I don't know if they'll go that route with him - or if he'll ever truly be Jay again - but for me, personally, it'd be a very interesting way to kill of the old Jay and bring in the new Jay. If all of that makes sense.

And Arin. I'm am going to say this loudly, with my whole chest here: All of this feels like it's setting up Arin to be the next Green Ninja. It really feels like with him going off and wandering around with an antagonist and being a part of releasing an ancient being that can create mass destruction and death, they're setting it up for Arin to eventually take on Lloyd's mantel of the Green Ninja.

Stories, especially in Ninjago, are circular. Like a snake biting its tail. Things have a habit of repeating themselves in odd ways. And just from what I've particularly seen in this season - especially towards the end - it really does feel like it.

The Fab 5 will free Thunderfang before the end of the season. I mean, it was pretty obvious.

Sora is def going to be the 1 who reunites with Arin. Hi. Hello. Ouch. I'm still crying.

We'll see Morro again in the Spectral Lands. We did!

Rogue will try and stop Arin and Ras from reaching the Temple of the Dragon Cores. And there will be this whole big fight. And he did! Well, try, that is. They still got there, in spite of him.

Arin and Sora will have a conversation in ep8. They did! Not the conversation I expected them to have, but they did converse. Which means Ras got to keep the rest of his fur.

Arin is going to go back to Ras, and Sora's going to join them. I was right!

Incorrect

Pixal will have more information about Wu, but it's going to take her some time to sort it all out. This really would have been a good way to hint about what's been going on with him.

The prismatic blade with Ras and Arin will be the last 1 the Fab 5 go after. Technically, Drix got a 2 for 1 deal by going after that 1 and the 1 Lloyd had. While it was the last blade gathered, it wasn't really the last 1 they went after.

Arin will be the 1 to cut the last chain and free Thunderfang. Thankfully, no.

The prismatic blades do something weird to spinjitsu. Actually, that would have been cool.

1 of the ninja will manage to track down Arin, Ras, and Rogue and participate in the fight. Sadly, nobody did.

Zarkt will try and make a comeback. He will stay as a failman for the rest of his life.

They'll that Rogue is Jay in ep7. RIP.

Drix and the Draconians grabbed Ras and the hamer for something with Thunderfang. Lol. Nope. For a fight with Nokt.

Lloyd is obviously going to be the 1 to take down Thunderfang. And Arin's going to be a part of it. RIP to Icy. Lloyd died. It was aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall Arin.

Nya, Kai, and Wyldfyre will find Jay. I mean, they were all there at the arcade, and at the very end. But it was really just Nya who truly found him.

Nya, Kai, and Wyldfyre are going to find Jay in an arcade. Sort of. They did go to an arcade, Kai beat Jay's high score, and Jay beat Kai's high score without even having to be in the room.

Zane's going to stumble across Pixal, altho her memory's going to be a little scrambled. He did, but her memory wasn't scrambled. She was powered down for over 6 years.

The Fab 5 have a connection with the Oni. I'm getting the feeling this is incorrect, but it was never confirmed in canon.

Ras's master is Thunderfang. Nothing has been confirmed or denied about this. Yet.

Roby looks ok, but he's still sick internally. Most likely incorrect, but I'm getting the feeling that he's still not fully cured.

Something in the Spectral Lands will cure Roby. Goes along with the previous.

Chapter 26: A Respite

'Ahead, Taliesin's pace never shifted, his posture fixed as ever. But Taliesin would look at home walking on water. The Beyond molded to fit him, its landscape embracing him into its entirety.' yet another reminder that Winnie does not actually belong here

I forgot that I gave Winnie a fear of heights in this draft lol why did I do that?

"I thought we were still a couple hundred meters away from the edge of the flats," Winnie hissed out, spreading her hands to find grips against the mountain wall. "It changed its mind." Edea shrugged.' (i love the Beyond)

Some of the language in this chapter really speaks to me being tired lol

'Winnie adjusted her skirt. The water here didn't even reach as high as her ankle, rushing around the soles of her boots. Simply by securing her skirt higher on her waist, Winnie was able to pull the hem over the water line, though she knew it'd still kick up and drench the bottom of it.' it's giving nano, but i know i wrote this later

Like I think there's something to be said for me trying to find more succinct ways of getting my point across sometimes

'Winnie adjusted her skirt, hoisting it higher up her waist to draw it over the pool's surface. Even so, gusts of wind chopped through the water, kicking up a spray that soaked into her hem.' or something idk i'm still tired lmao

Between the entryway to the Dawn Court and now this scene, I clearly love statues carved into mountains - that said, I would like to formally say FUCK Mount Rushmore

Facing such immense beauty and being immediately stricken with Grief is certainly a reaction to have, Winnie

Really kicking myself for having restraint and not sharing spoilers bc in my original notes I have a whole spiel about this scene in particular, but that's also exactly why I can't say anything rn AGH

'Winnie took in the mountainside. Back in Bildenbey, the fae were an ancient, deep-rooted terror. The thought of something coming before, of ancient history to an ancient people, boggled the mind.' this too! the ever-presence of change. stagnation is a myth! It cannot exist!

Taliesin and Edea's conversation is a little less punchy than in draft 1, but it's still a solid one - Edea acknowledging that Winnie is impulsive, that she's going to hate what he has to say about their next moves - and Taliesin recognizes this as true without seeming judgment

Chapter 27

Winnie waking in a flowerbed is so sweet - the Beyond isn't always terrible

I don't think they physically moved her, but the terrain certainly shifted since she went to sleep

"How long was I asleep?" Winnie asked, rubbing the base of her palm against her eye. She stepped away from the flowers, ducking into the shade of the canopy. A rush of air, a blur of gold, and a thud, and Taliesin landed beside her. "No time at all." "An age," Edea grunted. "Well? Which one?" Taliesin shrugged. "Both. Neither." (don't be fooled by that last scene, Taliesin is still fae, and he's still annoying lol)

Winnie doesn't even question the change in scenery anymore

I've come up with some new approaches to this third act since writing this draft - so I'm curious to see if I accidentally write out anything that contradicts it here

'Fear constricted in Winnie's chest, cutting off her ability to speak. A single question circled her mind, like a vulture waiting for its prey to succumb before descending on its carcass.' that's kinda a sick line actually, i love it when i try something with a simile and it works

I think I've shared this before, but I'm gonna again:

"How, exactly, do we outsmart a cave?" Edea piped in, "If we convince it that we are not aiming for the manor, perhaps it will let us through." That made about as much sense to Winnie as anything would've, she supposed. Although it conjured up the image of three dimwits marching through caves, talking loudly about how much they didn't want to find the Warden's estate. Not exactly subtle. Before she could even decide if she'd offer a nod in support, however, Taliesin interjected. "Hardly. The Warden is many things, and, to our great misfortune, one of those is discerning. They know that we're here, and they know why we're here. No amount of sidestepping the issue will distract them from that." "So then what?" Edea asked between gritted teeth. "Sometimes, where discretion won't get results, brashness will." "You want to... annoy the Undernell into letting us enter the manor?" Winnie clarified. "You'd be surprised how quickly wills can be bent through a little exasperation." (that last sentence sums up a character archetype I somehow manage to write into every single one of these projects - I shit you not, I have kept a list, and the only two so far without one of these lovable nuisances are The Insurgence, in which nobody was particularly likeable, and Emma's Wonderland, in which nobody was particularly annoying)

'[Taliesin] turned around, his cloak trailing him with a dramatic swish.' exactly my point

"I don't think that your plan is working," Winnie interrupted with a groan. "The cavern won't simply open up to the estate because you're loud." "No, but it may if it gets tired of being loud." Winnie blinked. "Maybe I should rephrase that," she said, pinning him with a glare. "Is there any alternative type of irritation that won't result in me begging the caves to collapse on us?" "I'd also prefer literally anything else," Edea cut in.' (the teriwrites trio of all time)

Taliesin's alternative form of irritation is to CAUSE A CAVE-IN

"What better way to irritate a cavern system than by disrupting it?" this fucking guy

In his defense, it worked - some more travel and another cave-in later, and he gets them into the estate

Chapter 28

This feels so long, but between knowing it's gonna get chopped down from my redactions and also how much we still have left to go (11 chapters + epilogue after this), I really need to keep pushing

Ending Thoughts:

I think I've lost a little of the spirit of this task in my preparations for working on the next draft of this novel. Placing Beyond Alder Creek within its context, my writing has come a long way since those days of teenage mutants with superpowers. Given the section I'm reading through right now was written outside of November, and all of 2024's was completed within the month, AND this being a second draft, it's very likely that this will be the best writing we get to see. And I'm by-and-large very happy with it! And even happier when I'm not happy with it, because so far, all of the sections that I feel less strongly about, I have ideas on how to improve the prose or the underlying structure of the story to get it there.

so far i think the Experience of watching season 1 isn't as... exciting? as it was the first time or before other seasons came out? i still really love the overall atmosphere. you get a lot more of a gap between where the characters started versus where they ended up which is sooooo melancholy and bittersweet.

i guess it just loses the tension that you get when you don't yet know where things are going, which takes away some of the intrigue. (and ngl i think... knowing that a lot of things i WAS excited about ended up getting dropped is another factor that lessens the impact.)

i still do think it is the most masterfully written and executed season tho, which makes sense bc it did likely have more time to be planned out and they could more concretely weave the timelines together, rather than... have things develop in the teen timeline in such a way that the adult timeline now has contradictions?

i guess what is just kinda of annoying tho is how many shows have been able to still nail the 5 season setup for very complex plots while still accommodating fine for behind the scenes irl issues like actors leaving or strikes. like, in those cases sure! it didn't turn out as enjoyably as it could have had things all gone to plan perfectly, but with context it's still pretty impressive and there was enough forethought to allow for things to still continue semi-smoothly.

maybe i'm just not entirely clear on what's getting in the way of yj's plans--if they even HAD plans--but it is harder for me to have that same patience about it... i guess i feel like, in other cases the showrunners respected their show and the audience enough to still put in tangible effort and have gone in with enough of a framework that even when things got off track, they could still tie things together to put it back ON track by the time of beats that mattered.

idk i'm getting nebulous about it. this is part of why i wanted to rewatch--to be able to more closely track what feels off to me. maybe with a back to back rewatch it'll actually feel finer than it does more disjointedly. so much does just feel unplanned and bc the showrunners--by their own admission lol--thought it'd be fun, that i am just disappointed that there doesn't seem to have been as big of a Master Plan as they led even the actors to believe. and i don't think it's totally off base to say that if the actors themselves are speaking out about that disappointment.

like... it's fine... the show is fine. it's good enough. it just doesn't feel anywhere near as tightly woven as it did at the start, and you would think that for a show with two interconnected timelines the care toward that would have been more of a priority. so no matter how good the show continues to be by general standards, it will always have some undertone of disappointment to me for not living up to what it presented itself as initially.

Omori X Undertale AU + Castings

I've seen people draw Omori WITH Undertale Characters, even an entire Comic based off Combining Omori and Undertale, but what about an actual AU of Undertale where it's Omori Characters instead? Buckle in, Boys & Girls. Cause this will be a long one.

Before anything, I should mention: I won't be explaining how Neutral and Genocide work in this AU (mainly because I would like to have functional fingerprints by the end of this) but I will mention how some Genocide Actions will function and maybe even some dialogue if you choose Genocide when we get to the Castings.

(Feel free to skip the story part, it has next to nothing to do with the Castings, Consider the Castings as their own separate thing)

(btw a little side note here: I'll address Frisk as They/Them for reasons I don't think I need to explain)

For the story of Pacifist? Well, let's say that Mt. Ebott was somewhere near Faraway, and after about...let's say 4 months since Frisk frees all of the monsters & Sunny confesses the truth, (yes, they both just by some coincidence do the same thing at the exact same time and date, don't question it) they decide to travel to Faraway with Toriel, because recently, Toriel's been hearing about a Bake off that'll include Monsters from all around the world, unfortunately, no Human contestants or spectators are allowed. Since she wants to go but doesn't want Frisk to be home alone at the same, what does she do instead of having one of her friends come babysit Frisk? Drop Frisk off at a random town called "Faraway" and come pick them back up when she's done at the Bake off, leaving Frisk all by their lonesome until then. What a responsible parent! Don't worry, Toriel leaves Frisk a Sleeping Bag, a portable tent, as well as some G so that they can both buy drinks and food forself.

With that out of the way, let's do some Casting already! Let's start with a HUGE one:

Hero as Sans: I know some people would probably interpret Kel as Sans (bc he's a short king compared to his brother) but there's actually a good few reasons why Hero as Sans would make more sense:

Both have a......charming smile? I wouldn't exactly define Sans's smile as charming, but I think Tumblr would hardly disagree with me.

Both are known for getting tired very easily. Mean, Sans spends most of his undead life asleep, and Hero can barely run for more then ten seconds without huffing and puffing all over the place.

That one scene where Sunny has to choose the taller brother. That whole scene made me wanna make a post like this, for good reason, too! That interaction had "Sans & Papyrus" energy written all over it.

Both can demolish you if you make them mad enough. If you have seen any artwork where Sunny confuses the truth & we get too see the friend's reactions, you definitely know what I'm talking about. There's a reason why RW Hero's only useable weapon is "Hands".

I think that's enough reasons, now here's some Genocide ideas for the "Hero" fight that I think could be cool:

Hero would dodge like normal, but instead of having dodging 50 times like regular Sans, he'd only dodge 10-15 times, meaning once he is tired & can no longer dodge, he gives the classic Sans friendship monologue and offers mercy. BUT BUT BUT-

Phase 2?

Yeah, Omori!Tale Hero would have a Phase 2, but what that Phase has, I don't have an idea.

It'd be one of two things:

1. He would "Catch" the knife before it hits him, grabbing it out of the players hand and throwing to the side, resorting you to fight Hero Knife-less until he blacks outs. Once your able to finally black out Hero, you must regain your lost knife and finish the job. (very brutal I know, but hey! So is Omori, so it fits)

or opinion 2, another Brutal one, even more messed up then the first.

You actually stab him in the chest, but instead of instantly dying, he continues to fight you as he bleeds out. (this is thanks to him having the most HEART out of everybody in the main party, which in this context doesn't make sense This path also brings a new-ish mechanic: You can choose to infinity guard until he bleeds out and win, or you can risk it and choose "FIGHT" to speed up this process by literally punching the knife deeper into the wound. Just like how when Sunny was explaining the truth.

WHICH ONE WINS?!!? YOU DECIDE! /j

ive been playing a shit ton of darkest dungeon lately and here's my opinion on which black butler characters would be which class!!

darkest dungeon is really cool btw!! it kind of has the same elements of black butler (fucked up protag, supernatural creatures, mental health being explored in a neat way, and the running theme of everyone being the absolute worst besides like two or three people!). i really recommend it if you love sadistic video games with eldritch horrors!!

ciel: ngl. he's the one that gets fucked over by the ancestor and has to build teams to kill eldritch horrors. which is what i thought at first

after thinking, he should be houndmaster and instead of a dog, it's just sebastian, pouting. /j

sebastian: BUT SERIOUSLY- for sebby, i'd like to think maaaybe occultist? there really isn't any classes close to a demon so someone who can summon eldritch horrors to fight other eldritch horrors seems like it'd make sense.

mey rin: musketeer. obvi. she go pew pew!! and also has the WORST ACCURACY IN THE WORLD- (this is personal salt, let me live. been so close to having party wipes)

bard: honestly. highwayman. he has one(1) attack that could count as an explosive. also they kinda have the same haircut!! i think it fits also theres no real explosives in the base game sadly. UNLESS you wanna talk enemies- then there's brigand vvulf who blows things the fuck up because he can! i think that fits him too! kind of!! since brigand is kind of a massive asshole.

finny: OH GOD,,, i had a toughie with this one buuuut- im probably going to go with bounty hunter or leper because of finny's SHEER strength. he's just busted man and you can beat the entire game with leper sooooo yeah! the mean part of me wanted to say abomination but again, thats mean but it's extremely wild to me that they pretty much have the same Tragic Backstory of experimented on for the lols and now just have to deal with it. at least finny got the better end of the stick! poor abomination...

now the reapers! (in order of appearance)

grelle: hellion! she is the biggest girlboss in the game so ofc she'd fit grelle, come on now. the hellion class is extremely broken powerful and puts out an insane amount of damage! a part of me wants to argue grave robber but it doesn't have a lot of flashy and powerful moves- this is mainly considering grelle is the 3rd strongest character in the series iirc.

the night is beautiful if you take the time to live it. for me, my favorite time across the board is lunch time-12:00 ish to 3:00 just because the sun is highest and i feel happiest! i like the night when i go out on bike rides because i feel alive/ like i’m not wasting my teen years

and yes the night is so beautiful when u just give it ur attention. like, on my birthday it was raining and i didn’t have school the next day (and my birthdays i’m may so it was pretty warm) so i just went outside at like, midnight ish and listened to the rain and crocheted and it was truly so nice 😫 also omg last year when covid had us all at home i went for a bike ride almost every day after school to just get out of my room and it was so nice!! it was my bike from when i was like, 12 but i’m 4’11 so i was still able to ride it without a problem lsnsksns

-i took piano for like a year in second grade but then third grade happened and i was rlly bad at math so my parents switched from paying for piano lessons to paying for math tutoring lessons and i now remember literally nothing from piano lessons sksnksns

-ooo so this is difficult for me cuz i technically live in a suburb but we’re *right next* to a major city in my state (like i’m a 20ish min car ride from my states baseball stadium and a 20 min walk to the college of the major city) so this has kinda made me rlly like both? like, i like the quiet of the suburbs but i cant handle not being able to walk to the closest boba shop or movie theatre or bookshop but i also don’t rlly love the noise and lights that there are in the city at night. so idk sksnksns
