you know i did a spit take when i learned that marty o'donnell's new company was reviving the canceled controversial game 'six days in fallujah' back in 2021 and just thought it was some weird contractual obligation but now that hes vocally supporting an ethnic cleansing im not so sure cuz like holy shit

i followed marty when he was laid off from destiny. he founded a new company and their first project was this vr game about a disabled woman of color using a magic cloth to see the world around her with a touching soundtrack and i was like 'thats so wholesome' and then 😬😬😬

YES. Finding legitimate sprites directly from Toby Fox games can be surprisingly difficult. There are so many fan-made character sprites, that it can be hard to differentiate from the real ones!

Guess how many are NOT fan-made? .....only one 🗿

Official Websites like Spriters Resource (Ralsei's Offical Sprite Sheet) are very helpful in this regard :)

They may even include unused file graphics. Like this unused face of Ralsei.

Sprite legitimacy is a big rabbit hole that I personally don't have enough knowlege on :( ((BUT OH MY GOSH The internet is notorious for reposting fan-spriteworks without sourcing. It can be really hard to find the original artist.))

It's also HILARIOUS how many people have redone Ralsei's sprite. It is quite obvious from my Ralsei poll and through his mass of fan-redesigns, that many people in the Deltarune community REALLY LOVE his Chapter 1 sprite more.

Ralsei sprite fan-art is amazing and I personally want to mod it into my game bc it looks so good. Below I have some really cool fan-sprites I found and the artists who made them!

Looking back at Ralsei's Chapter 2 head sprites..... they just don't look as good as they could in my opinion. I dont like them :(...uhhh NO HATE OF COURSE!!..ahklasdkflansdf I'll go jump in this hole now.

correct me if im wrong but im PRETTY sure that for something to be a proper sequel it needs more than literally just reusing the same world and character models and slightly altering their design or adding an ability (that they got somwhere in between which isnt shown nor elaborated on either while previous abilities or interests/knowledge vanish)

made the mistake of saying that really totk isnt a sequel bc it doesnt build on, nor expand nor elaborate nor continue anything from botw, its the same preset of basic things like ... world and character models and tells an entirely different story utterly disconnected from anything botw, which it not only acts like it never happened (aside from like one dialog which is not enough for me when everyone else has literally forgotten everything and tbh feels more like a reference thats actually a slap and laugh in your face) but often times actively contradicts it, like a different version of the same thing

which is called an alternative universe

half of the reasons why i despise totk is bc i wanted, expected and was TOLD its a sequel when it isnt, can you really blame me for being disappointed and frustrated when i was told its a sequel, which should build on established stuff, to a game and its lore i deeply cared about and then get an alternative universe game that has nothing to do with the one i cared about except wear its face and STILL get told its a sequel even just by simply reusing models

yknow what. im all for shipping who you wanna ship and all the recent jeanee support has produced some SUPER art and posts. but honestly? I feel like they are too far apart geographically-wise for it to work. this isn’t me “proving” jerejean is going to happen, however fun that’d be even though it might also be a teensy bit out there given the fact that they’ve never interacted in canon and Jeremy might just be the dan or Matt of tsc, given he’s captain or bc he’s so bright, but idk much if anything abt Nora’s writing patterns, or whether she even has any.

since aerion doesnt technically die before maekar kicks the bucket in this universe .. well ... ... ........... <_< ... the succession is a little more clear . which isnt actually a very good thing in this case ... but how funny is king aerion if you don't think about it too hard (the answer is very) ! myrielle gets the consort title for a little while at least but it shifts into queen dowager slash regent eventually .

as for maekar ..

in my mind they're not really At Odds necessarily - she respects him and wants to be on his good side as her father in law . finds him a respectable man and doesn't intentionally try to piss him off or anything but i feel like she finds ways to do so regardless. she's a bit too similar to aerion in the sense that she somehow always ends up on the scene of the crime and i imagine it causes a lot of additional stress for him to have the aerion myrielle pipeline of bickering as kids > twisted marriage > kids named after horrible monarchs in the background alongside everything else that's already going on for him LOL

i do think they have some care for each other in the sense of familial loyalty by means of marriage . maekar wants to make sure she doesnt get in trouble and ruin his son's reputation further and myrielle finds comfort in him as a distant father figure when her own family isnt really at court anymore

baelor is a fun one i think because it's a double whammy of Both myrielle and tybolt show up at court and theyre amazed by him . i like to think tybolt even before they get to king's landing looks up to baelor in the sense of being a kid who wants to be a knight and a great lord looking up to a knight and a great lord . and myrielle ends up tagging along even if she doesn't care much for knighthood or his feats ... her cool uncle in law that she idealizes and crushes on in a childish sense the same way she does a lot of the male figures in her life .

I'm only two episodes in and still dreading to see how the show ruin Demeter and Ares for me. But that will be future me's problem.

Right now I'm getting the hots for Hestia, crying for Melinoe and Zagreus, and cheering Seraphim for calling out the judgement kings of the Underworld (that's some balls of steel :O)

Gotta give the show props for including some of the iconic punishments in Tartarus! Though I wonder why Seraphim has to suffer a punishment similar to Loki....? (in Norse myth, Loki was chained and had a serpent dripping venom on him for the crime of aiding the murder of the god Baldr)

And when the judgement kings said "pride is the worst thing of all" (can't remember exactly but it's something like that), I'd prefer them use the word "hubris". When they used "pride" I just think of those Christianity preaches. But that's just me :/

Also Hades saying "I'm not like the other gods" reeks of the "I'm not like the other girls" vibe. I'm dying on the hill that Hades and Persephone's myth isn't a romance and can't really stand any of their lovey dovey moments. But I guess loving his family and don't want it to fall apart is an understandable motive for Hades.
