Yen looks a lot like my childhood cat Duchess, but as this was back in the time of disposable cameras and we were poor I only have one photo of her. the threat does not have to be a personal one -- in much the same way that women can enact misogynistic violence against each other, or racialized people can enact racist violence against each other, it is just as much if not morseo an appeal to the invocation of systems of violence than an interpersonal threat. compare, for example, documented immigrants who take every chance they can to rant about the 'filthy illegals' and the various violences they hope are inflicted upon them (many such cases!)
