RULES

Maintain core facial features throughout all transformations while showing appropriate aging.

Consider writing a brief description for each day's creation to enhance the narrative of your Sim's life journey. This is optional! Do it only if you enjoy it.

Use any clothing, hair, or accessories available to you (base game or custom content) to express your Sim's transformation.

You do not have to finish every day. Do the days you find interesting and fun!

I encourage sharing your creations—whether it's every day or just a few—but it's completely up to you!

WEEK ONE

Teen Years - Establishing Identity

Day 1: Create your Sim as a teen in their most authentic form. Establish their core features and personality by giving them traits and likes/dislikes. These core features will remain recognizable throughout their transformation journey.

Day 2: Establish your Sim’s earliest passion or interest. Show this through their appearance and style.

Day 3: How does your Sim present themselves at school? Create their typical school attire or uniform.

Day 4: Show how your Sim’s appearance changes when they meet their closest friends. What elements did they adopt from their friends?

Day 5: Dress your Sim for an important family celebration or tradition.

Day 6: Show what your Sim prefers wearing on weekends when they are free to express themselves.

Day 7: Dress your Sim as they imagine their future self! What do they think their young adult life is going to look like?

WEEK TWO

Young Adulthood - Finding Independence

Day 8: Age your Sim up to young adult. Dress them in an outfit they would wear when moving into their first independent living situation.

Day 9: Show your Sim in their first professional outfit as they get a job or continue their education.

Day 10: Show how your Sim's style evolves as they form new friendships and connections.

Day 11: Show what your Sim wears on their first date as a young adult.

Day 12: Create an outfit that reflects your Sim’s financial situation—are they thriving or struggling?

Day 13: Your Sim is going on a vacation! Reflect the type of vacation through their appearance and style.

Day 14: Design your Sim an outfit for an important life celebration or achievement during their young adult years.

WEEK THREE

Adulthood - Settling & Growth

Day 15: Age up your Sim to adulthood. Create them as their more settled and established adult self.

Day 16: Show what your Sim looks like as they advance in their career or change directions.

Day 17: How have the stresses and challenges of adult life affected your Sim’s appearance?

Day 18: Show your Sim during a reflective period—when they ponder their life choices and directions.

Day 19: Show what your Sim looks like as they rediscover or pursue an old passion they may have set aside during their busy adult years.

Day 20: Show how your Sim’s health focus has influenced their appearance in middle adulthood.

Day 21: Show your Sim when they are ready to start a family—whether that means having a child, adopting, or getting a pet.

WEEK FOUR

Elder Years - Wisdom & Legacy

Day 22: Age up your Sim to elder. Show how they are embracing their elder years.

Day 23: Show how your Sim's appearance reflects the wisdom and experience gained throughout life.

Day 24: Show your Sim in an outfit for an important family gathering as an elder.

Day 25: Create an outfit your Sim would wear when enjoying their preferred retirement leisure activities.

Day 26: Show your Sim dressed in a style that reminds them of an important period from their earlier life.

Day 27: Show how your Sim is continuing to evolve and grow through their outfit.

Day 28: For the final day, create your Sim in an outfit that incorporates elements from throughout their life journey—symbolizing the complete metamorphosis they’ve undergone!

Those of you who have been around these parts for any length of time know my affinity for 1960s fashion, and ever since I made over the Scooby Doo gang in medieval revival for Halloween last year I've been hung up on tackling a recolouring project in that style. Pick or randomize a feature and roll for it! You then must give your sim that feature, and try to harmonize their face to it. You can pick how many features you want, the more features you randomize, the more unique your sim get!

we recruit on a monthly basis-- as in after each issue is published, we refresh and recruit again for the following month!

this is to keep it fun and respect everyone's time outside of tumblr! we understand scheduling needs change from month to month, theme to theme :)

for example, we are currently recruiting for our APRIL issue. if you enjoy working with us, you would simply fill out the form again when we recruit for MAY :)

WHAT DOES THIS POSITION ENTAIL?

JOB TITLE: FASHION EDITOR.

create a minimum ONE PAGE magazine spread (dimensions would be provided to you) highlighting OUTFITS or CUSTOM CONTENT CAS PIECES (that are freely available)-- hair, makeup, accessories, anything!! the world is your oyster :)

there would be an overarching theme that would be provided to relate the outfits to! we're trialling the theme idea :)

JOB TITLE: LIFESTYLE EDITOR.

as this is a magazine-- and its primary focus is fashion-- fashion is a lifestyle :) if you would like to highlight items or decor or some sort of other .package that has elevated your experience-- your spread can also focus on this too! it can be in the form of an advertisement/ lifestyle edit-- its totally up to you!

this position would also require you to contribute minimum ONE PAGE to the issue :)

an overarching theme would be provided as guidance!

JOB TITLE: COMMUNITY AND CULTURE EDITOR.

there will also be a COMMUNITY SIGHTINGS/GOSSIP page (which won't involve actual gossip) but local simblr stories, bachelorette challenges, pack reviews, etc.! this would be a cute way to get simblr rolling again :)

this position would also require you to contribute minimum ONE PAGE to the issue :)

you must be 18+ to apply

there will be a deadline to submit your content by, just because it'll be a big group effort! no hard feelings and no penalties if you're unable to get it in by the deadline, it might not be "published" in that issue :)

i've been loving cas challenges lately and really wanted to make one of my own. i thought it'd be fun to go a bit more abstract with some of the themes so there are a few in there that might be a bit challenging, but that's part of the fun :-)

the rules are simple: make an outfit in cas that is inspired by the theme. interpret the theme however you'd like! you can use the same sim or make different ones along the way. feel free to skip any days that don't catch your interest. it's all for fun, just do whatever feels fun for ya. i'll probably start this in june but feel free to start whenever.

This is part one of the 1800s female lookbook, you can find part two here.

The simplification of clothing that had begun in the late 18th century carried over into the early 1800s. The chemise dress made popular by such fashion icons as Marie Antoinette evolved into a neoclassical style that revealed the natural body, with a high waist and lightweight fabrics. Interest in classical antiquity had been growing throughout the second half of the 1700s following the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum, and this reached its peak in the early 1800s with fashions that hearkened back to the styles of ancient Greece and Rome. White became the colour de jour thanks to the incorrect assumption that ancient sculptures were carved in white marble, with pops of colour added through accessories such as shawls and hats. Dresses were long and typically pooled on the floor, with swathes of fabric echoing the ancient inspiration.

While clothing became more simplified, the expectations surrounding modes of dress were relatively complex. Increasing wealth among the middle class meant that frequently changing fashions became accessible to many women across social strata. Together with the sinking costs of cloth and clothing due to industrial manufacturing, this led to ladies changing their clothes a number of times throughout the day. With this came societal guidelines about what and when to wear certain dresses. There were three main ensemble modes - undress, half dress and full dress.

Undress essentially meant 'casual' dress and was appropriate for activities that occurred from the morning until the afternoon, including gowns that were worn by ladies within the home known as morning dresses. Undress was suitable for walking and promenading, which were social occasions for those to see and be seen in fashionable areas. Half dress sits between the informality of undress and formality of full dress. In modern terms, you could compare it to 'business casual' or 'cocktail' attire. Fabrics were richer than undress gowns and necklines were more revealing. Full dress was reserved for evening and entailed all the extravagant detail that late Georgian and Empire style allowed for. Headwear was more elaborate, trimmings more detailed and textiles more luxurious. CC links under the cut.
