My Fair Lady: Regency Era Working Class Dress
Tumblr media
♫How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord, is laid for your faith in his excellent word, what more can he say, than to you he hath said. You, who unto Jesus for refuge have fled?♫
Aren't you sick of your poor ladies having absolutely NOTHING to wear? They can't afford the latest and finest silks, and of course, they don't want to wear their mother's pre-revolution outfits. Yuck! This is a working-class dress for your regency ladies who are on the less fortunate side and with the new and fashionable empire waist!
This is a frankenmesh of a dress from @peebsplays & @gilded-ghosts. I also used a fichu from @acanthus-sims and an apron texture from @chere-indolente
BGC, with 20 swatches all inspired by actual fashion plates of the time
Below are pictures of actual working-class regency dresses
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, what's this? Sweet little Emma seems to be playing with her brand-new baby doll, Polly. How adorable!
Tumblr media
She's so proud of her Polly that she wants to show her off to the world! She starts tugging on her mother's apron to get her to see Polly.
Tumblr media
Oh no! Her mother isn't giving her any attention. Instead of turning to see Emma's doll, her mama seems to be preoccupied with her own baby, Emma's new little sister, Annabelle.
Tumblr media
Poor, poor Emma. It's hard being a 3 year old. It's harder getting a new sibling who seems to get your mother's undivided attention and you're no longer the star of the show.
Tumblr media
:(
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, but fear not little one, for you will always be the center of attention when Aunt Beth is around.

[TS4CC] TRAFALGAR FLAIR: 2 REGENCY-ERA MASCULINE OUTFITS
Wow!!! Hello!!!! Here are two Regency-era suits that are recolors/mesh edits. These are inspired by fashion from 1805 (Trafalgar Flair suit) and 1820s/1830s (Handy Dandy Suit) respectively. They're not perfectly accurate, but frankly, if the fashion police show up at my door they're welcome to make more historical masc clothes their own damn selves.
NOTES:
- Both have texture maps/LODs/color tags/Disabled for Random & Disabled for Situational - Both REQUIRE the original mesh!!!!! - Trafalgar Flair has 13 swatches - Verts:3797/Polys:5356 - Get the mesh here!! - Handy Dandy has 80 swatches - Verts:5587/Polys:7638 - Get the mesh here!! - Recoloring these might be a pain in the ass so I included PSD files. TOU:
- The usual-- keep these free, etc.
Please let me know if anything is weird, and otherwise, enjoy!!

I've always liked the Knock Around Couch from Cottage Living, as its classic Chesterfield look suits so many decors (actually, it's even more historically useful than I realized; early versions date back to the mid 1700s, though it wasn't as comfortable before the Victorians got their hands on it). Unfortunately, EA didn't bother to make anything to match it. So I made a matching loveseat. And then I decided that I wanted extra colors, so I made a recolor of the original, so that the extra colors in the loveseat would have matches in the couch. And then I was already drafting this post when I realized that a matching chair would also help. So I added a chair!
Knock Around Couch Recolors comes in 31 swatches and requires Cottage Living. Download from SimFileShare here.
Knock Around Loveseat comes in 43 swatches, 12 matching the Cottage Living Swatches, and 31 matching the Knock Around Couch Recolors. Base Game Compatible. Download from SimFileShare here.
Knock Around Chair comes in 43 swatches, 12 matching the Cottage Living Swatches, and 31 matching the Knock Around Couch Recolors. Base Game Compatible. Download from SimFileShare here.
Made with S4S.
Want something to coordinate with your pretty new comfort items? Try the Old Timey Lamp (on the wall in the photo above), or look at @anachrosims Gorgeous Georgians set, as many Knock Around swatches were designed to coordinate with those items.

Can't stay away from historical Henford...
Downloads and details under the cut!
Poplar Hall is a Georgian Era estate, based on Marble Hill in London. This beautiful Neoclassical house is bright and airy, finished with beautiful touches of crystal and plaster...
I came across a beautiful building in London called Marble Hill while watching 2018's Vanity Fair (definitely recommend, Olivia Cooke is a fantastic Becky Sharp!) The exterior and layout of this build is almost directly taken from Marble Hill, which was used in various interior and exterior shots for the show.
(Also, I forgot to add doors to the third level... oops! Feel free to add the boiserie doors to match!)

Paintings from Buckingham Palace: part II
A retexture by La Comtesse Zouboff — Original Mesh by @thejim07
Spread among 13 occupied and historic royal residences in the United Kingdom, the collection is owned by King Charles III and overseen by the Royal Collection Trust. The British monarch owns some of the collection in right of the Crown and some as a private individual. It is made up of over one million objects, including 7,000 paintings, over 150,000 works on paper, this including 30,000 watercolours and drawings, and about 450,000 photographs, as well as around 700,000 works of art, including tapestries, furniture, ceramics, textiles, carriages, weapons, armour, jewellery, clocks, musical instruments, tableware, plants, manuscripts, books, and sculptures.
Some of the buildings which house the collection, such as Hampton Court Palace, are open to the public and not lived in by the Royal Family, whilst others, such as Windsor Castle, Kensington Palace and the most remarkable of them, Buckingham Palace are both residences and open to the public.

In 1809, a catastrophic fire ripped through the hodge-podge St.James's Palace in London, England. St.James's had become the place of the Royal Court of the Sovereign of the United Kingdom, though even by the time of the fire it wasn't the preferred residence of the Sovereign (this honor went to Buckingham House while the Prince of Wales held a counter court at Carlton House).
But what if St.James's burnt to the ground, save a garden wall? Buckingham House, at the time, was too small, Kensington too far away and now there was a prime place to develop something grand enough befitting the Crown.
Enter New St.James's Palace - based off a design earlier drawn up for Richmond by William Chambers, it would be adapted and expanded to become fit for purpose. Cleveland Row would be partially cleared to create a proper French styled entrance court, while many items and decorative items from Carlton House and Windsor Castle would be used to try and curtail costs.
This is all a bit of non-serious fun, and it was quite enjoyable to shove the boring George III's staterooms with the more interesting, classical Queen Charlotte's and the over the top Prince of Wales' chambers into one building.

Regency Era Accessories Part 4:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've converted these lace caps from Sims 2 creators maya40 and Simbury, when downloading please read the description.
Aren't you sick of your married maidens not having proper attire to cover their lovely locks? Perhaps your spinsters are also in need of covering their hair to avoid more shun than they're already exposed to in society. How scandalous your married lady sims must feel straying away from God with their hair uncovered! Allow me to present you 3 lace caps for your ladies to wear during the day.
Julia: A laced day cap with a front ribbon used for morning and daywear during the early Regency Era (1795-1837) but this style will work for 1810s-early 1820s
Sophia: A small fitted lace day cap with side ribbons used for morning and day wear. I suppose if you'd like you can slap this one on for some formal dinner parties too, but I think my turbans work better for that. I used separate textures from the original mesh by Simbury and slapped some ribbons on there too. My inspiration was to get a cap like Louisa Hurst from Pride and Prejudice 1995. Meant for the Regency Era (1795-1837) but this style worked for the late 1790's-early 1820s.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Frances: Same as Sophia Cap just bigger and less fitted. Works for more elaborate hairstyles.
BGC and Hat Slider Compatible
Pics of actual Lace Caps down here. You may hear them referred to as either Mob Caps, Dormeuses, or Lace Bonnets, but I'm just going to stick with lace caps as that's what I've always called them. If you were alive back then you would've called it a Bonnet but I apologize I was born in the 2000s.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah, what a lovely day for gossip between 3 married upper-class ladies. What else would they rather spend their day doing?
Tumblr media
I wonder what Julia and Sophia are talking about? Perhaps Julia caught her husband leaving the male servant quarters half undressed in the early hours of the morning with his clothes all undone. That would explain that sly look on Sophia's face. It's fine, they got into an arranged marriage anyway and he's rich so of course she won't say anything.
Tumblr media
Poor Frances seems to be sulking in a corner and oh she's in black, she's mourning. I wonder for who? Oh no, are those tears I see?! Perhaps this conversation brings back painful memories of her late husband too! He had his fair share of dabbling in bed with his male servants as well...

Sometimes your sims need light that isn't dependent on electricity. These old-timey lamps run on oil instead.
I frankenmeshed this particular project from four different EA objects (one of them just for the knob) and then had to do it again to straighten out the mesh. Still, I'm quite pleased with how it came out. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get the reflector on the back to work, and I thought it important to include one.
Much like the close stools I made last year, this particular project is based on actual historical lights and lighting principles.
Tumblr media
Although oil-fueled lights are ancient in their use, this particular conception is in line with Georgian-Victorian lights. In England, oil lights began to replace candles for those of means during the later part of the eighteenth century. Like the glass chimneys, the metal of the lamp and reflectors on the back help amplify the light and reflect it about the room. These sorts of design choices were necessary before the brighter gas lights slowly began making their way into homes beginning in the 1840s. Unfortunately oil lamps produced soot, which showed up easily on the light shades of Georgian interiors, hence the Victorian preference for darker wallpapers.
Originally I was just going to do natural metal colors, and then I decided that it would be fun to have a bunch of colorful versions as well. So some swatches are more historical than others.
Tumblr media
This particular lamp also has a bit of a quirk that I chose not to resolve because I was amused by it. Although it's meant as a wall lamp, it can fit in slots on tables. So if you want it to just sit around because someone was too lazy to install it properly, or if you want it to be sitting around waiting to be 'fixed', that can be done. It probably wouldn't actually balance like that... but it's fine.
Base Game Compatible and works Off the Grid. Comes in 35 swatches, some of which are in compatible shades to @anachrosims Gorgeous Georgians set.

Finchley Hall · a (mostly) unfurnished Georgian estate
Tumblr media
Hello fellow Simmers! For my first build, I'd like to share Finchley Hall, a 64x64 lot designed for Henford-on-Bagley.
This Neoclassical Georgian-inspired manor house is (almost) entirely unfurnished, for you to decorate the interior - whether in Regency style or to your own modern taste. This build, while unfurnished, is CC-heavy.
More info and download below the cut!
Finchley Hall, the envy of all Finchwick, is the ancestral seat of the Earl and Countess of Henford...
While there are many ways you can configure the rooms, I recommend using the basement level for the kitchen/servant's hall/scullery, main floor for drawing rooms, dining, library, and gallery, second floor for suites, and attic level for staff rooms and storage space - if you want that authentic manor feel.

19-20 Edith Grove
This beautiful 3 bedroom, 4 bath Georgian Townhouse is based on one I saw in London's Chelsea neighbourhood. Split over 4 floors, The interior combines modern and farmhouse. Whilst I did a lot of decorating, I have left some spaces for more to be added. I have also left the other half of this semi-detached home empty, it could be used to expand the home, or create a purely decorative second home.
I haven't yet compiled a full list of cc used, but many thanks to: @felixandresims, @mincts4, @pinkbox-anye, @littledica, @wondymoondesign, @sims4luxury, @sundays-sims, @peacemaker-ic, #severinka, @syboubou, @lorysims, @irinaseverinka @pierisim and many, many more that I can't think of at the moment!
In addition, a shoutout to the wonderful #mattrobot for the wonderful artwork he creates that I used to create my FIRST EVER pieces of CC, the movie posters (in the movie room)!
This is probably my dream home, if I could actually afford to live in London! Let me know what you think!
