I just needed to tell you I’ve been binging all of your HA! Fics and by GOD my childhood ship is real and you dear author have made it so. God it’s all soooo so so good. The way you write Helga as soft but so strong and Arnold as so whipped but still honest about how to two of them clash it’s everything. They’re both so down bad for each other and it’s such a fuckinf pleasure to read. More then just characterization the pure SKILL of the writing is everything. It’s so captivating. Your way with words is something to be not only admired and held to high acclaim but something to study— I wanna pick it apart and just eat it. It’s so good. God. Everything is so so good. From one writer to another I just had to let u know. Love the work, keep writing ❤️❤️❤️

Giles doesn’t quite know why he agreed to meet her here. A bar with no sign, no lights, and a jukebox that appears to be playing exclusively Nick Cave B-sides. It’s barely nine in the morning. The bartender is asleep. Or possibly dead. He hasn’t checked.

He sits at a crooked table in the back, nursing a lukewarm cup of what might generously be called coffee, though he suspects it was brewed sometime during the Carter administration.

Faith’s late. Naturally.

He glances up, not for her, but in the vague hope that someone might have fixed the lighting in the last three minutes. They haven’t. What he does notice, though, are the walls. Every square inch of them.

Tarot cards. Hundreds of them. Pinned, pasted, varnished directly onto the paint in no particular order. Major Arcana, Minor Arcana, reversed, glittered, glowing slightly in places. One has a googly eye glued to it. Another is stapled to what looks like a chicken wishbone. Giles stares for a moment, then mutters to himself. "God, this place looks like a tarot deck threw up."

He exhales. The card nearest his head says The Fool.

He decides not to take it personally.

Elektra’s close now, and Buffy's watching without turning her head, just a flick of her eyes, tracking her like instinct. Her brain does the usual checklist: threat? no. comfort? not exactly. Something in between.

"Define rough," Buffy says, dry, but not cold. Her mouth quirks like she’s trying on a smile and doesn’t quite commit. "If we’re talking apocalypse or demon riot? No. If it’s more like no sleep, bad dreams, and the last donut’s gone? You betcha."
