"Don't think about it." The jackdaw writer muttered to himself, but he didn't put his phone down, continuing to scroll through his messages. "Just don't."

He kept going farther and farther back, reading through every conversation he'd had with Leon.

Why did he always do this? Seriously, what was the point? It wasn't as if there was anything of extreme importance in those messages. There were great memories in there, sure, but there were also bad ones.

For obvious reasons, he didn't like thinking about those.

Not about how he'd landed himself in the hospital and Aashvi Rose had been the only one of his emergency contacts to actually show up because his parents never answered the fucking phone—Leon had practically blown up his phone with text messages and calls, panicked, knowing there was nothing he could do because he was all the way in Spain—or how a few months before that, Leon had been the one in the hospital and Jack had been sick with worry, wracked with such severe anxiety that he nearly left work early, consequences be damned, his hands shaking too badly for him to even write, whether by hand, on a laptop or his typewriter, how he'd also blown up Leon's phone with texts pleading, 'Don't do this, please be alive, I'll do anything, please just answer me', or–

Why did he put his writing desk in the living room, of all places?

No matter. Thank God his neighbors were on vacation. The flat didn't have thin walls, but the jackdaw writer discovered that the couple living next door had sharp ears. He probably would've gotten a knock on the door and a harsh scolding, despite the late hour, if they were around, but no, they were off somewhere in Mexico.

"Why the fuck am I in the kitchen?" It wasn't as if getting up would've helped. His whole flat was stained with memories of what happened, after all. If he didn't want to remember both his own and Leon's brushes with death, then he shouldn't have opened Pandora's Box and purposefully looked at those stupid fucking text messages! All of this could've been avoided had the jackdaw writer gone to sleep at a normal time, and it was such a ridiculous thing to get worked up over!

Yeah, he just needed to go to bed and pray he didn't dream about this, too.

Veiled in mysteries, she guards her own secrets, yet her radiant glow is the sole luminance in my sanctuary.

May my shadows never eclipse her brilliance; I yearn to immerse in her obsidian depths until I discover my own radiance.

Unfurling my heart, not in love but in vulnerability, she becomes the sole moonlight pulsating within me.

The window of my soul shall forever remain ajar, inviting her to permeate my abode and dispel the shadows.

In her, I find the celestial guide, the only moonlight that adorns my existence.

Two women were training in their backyard, and their grunts and groans could be heard as they exchanged blows. Dirt and leaves were flying around them as they used all of their skills. Bai Chen attempted to strike Aashvi with one of her deer horn knives, but Aashvi blocked it with a small magic shield. Aashvi retaliates by sending a kick at her girlfriend, but Bai Chen catches her leg and flips her on her back. "Ugh!" Aashvi groans as she lands on her back. Bai Chen chuckles as she walks over and squats beside her girlfriend. "Have you had enough?" Bai Chen sneers playfully as she holds her hand out to help Aashvi up. "No way!" Aashvi says as she pulls the other woman on top of her. The two laugh and Aashvi's laughter quiets down as she just lays there while staring up at her lover. She watches as sweat runs down Bai Chen's face and chest, her face slightly flushed from all the exercise. Her usually pristine mullet is now all over the place, with black and blonde hair sticking to her forehead as she tries to catch her breath. Aashvi just can't help but stare at Bai Chen. She finds her girlfriend to be beautiful in every situation.

She runs a hand through his curls and keeps a tight grip on his waist. "If you ever leave my home, you have to take me with you. No questions asked," Aminta says as she tightens her grip around Makos' waist and continues to run her hand through his curls. "Promise me that, Makos?" she prompts. Makos lets out a slight sigh as he relaxes into her embrace. He knows Aminta very well at this point, and he's not too surprised. "I promise, Ami," he says with a smile as he cups her face.

Emiliano’s arm and shoulder are now littered with black areas that have little white spots in them. It looks akin to the night skin. Though he is still bleeding regular red blood so that was a good sign. With every spine, Araceli removed Emiliano would hiss out in pain and more blood would start coming out. “What’s gonna happen if it infects me, Araceli..?” Emiliano asks their twin, “Nothing’s gonna happen, because I’m not letting it infect you. I’d rather die before seeing you turn into one of those things.” Araceli says with contempt as grabbed a small cotton pad and a small golden vial out of the medkit. They dab the vial onto the cotton pad and wipe it across the black area of Emiliano's arm and shoulder, "You're gonna be okay, don't worry, and even if you were to change... I wouldn't let anything happen to you," Araceli says as they take out a roll of gauze as well.

Aashvi did not like the way her bound prisoner followed her with his eyes, leering at her despite his predicament. “Are you enjoying this, Gurjeet?” she demanded of the man, whose eyes twinkled even as he tried to wriggle free of the strong ropes the woman had used to tie him to the chair. “But you are so beautiful, my dear,” he said to her, in the same oily tones that had made Aashvi determined to capture the predatory molester in the first place. The young woman suddenly became conscious of the tightness of her shalwar kameez, her tousled black locks tumbling over her bare shoulders and the beauty of her flashing golden bangles and earrings.
