How Likely is Death by Lizard?
This idea popped into my head and I had to do it. Chart of how likely my beloved bastard lizard OCs are to kill you, a random lizardverse civillian. Under a cut for length lol.
Before we begin, a few assumptions about the scenario:
You are a member of the lizardverse, because a human would lose against every single guy on this chart. Species is unspecified, just assume it's a Lizardverse species.
You are of average strength for that species, and have average magical and/or psychic abilities.
You do NOT have divine power from any of the gods.
You do NOT have any weapons beyond whatever abilities your species already has.
You have no prior relationship to any of these lizards, and they have no prior knowledge of you. This is how likely they are to kill you immediately upon meeting you with no influencing factors.
And Now, the Chart:
The Y axis measures capacity. It is how capable of murder a lizard is purely based on their strength and powers. Characters near the bottom are weaker, characters near the top are stronger (and again, we're assuming you have average strength and abilities in the Lizardverse setting)
The X axis measures willingness. This is how much they would want to do murder. Characters near the left are very unwilling, characters nearer the right are very willing.
You are at exactly average strength on the Y axis. Where you would be on the X axis is up to you.
The difference between "If You Provoked them Somehow" and "Only if it Benefited them" is that for the former, you would actively need to do something to make them want to kill you, and for the latter you could literally just be existing and as long as it furthered their own ends they would try to merc you on the spot.
Alright! Chart time:
Character Explanations:
(From left to right, top to bottom)
Veskieryaer - Literally a god, incredibly powerful. So weighed down by grief that it doesn't care anymore. It's just so tired, you guys. Could theoretically turn your brain into soup with a single pulse of electricity but would basically never be bothered to do it.
Leoshgon (w/ Sword) - Leoshgon while wielding the Godslayer Sword. Capable of reducing cities to rubble but only every so often. Slowly being consumed by the power of the sword. No qualms about murder but doesn't seek it out either. Would absolutely kill you if provoked. Or if the Overseer asked him to. Or if you were in one of the cities the Overseer told him to melt.
Amaldyne (Revenant) - Goddess of a new world, hooked into a system designed for ancient power. Trying so very hard to fight the part of her that wants to devour all of reality. She's so hungry. She's so hungry. But she's trying so hard. Would let you go, but maybe don't stick around...
She is the only known Divine Champion of the god Hunger (the Locust) in all of history.
The Godslayer* - Vesk's stronger, deadlier sister. Full of Rage. Wants to burn everything down and start again from the ashes. Absolutely, 1000% capable of that too. Would kill anyone on sight but if it helps it wouldn't be personal, and you'd be in good company (read: literally everyone else).
*Technically not on the chart, should be several degrees higher.
Raven - Older than every other Champion. Would never kill without provocation, but wouldn't hesitate to draw her blade either.
Divine Champion of the god Justice (the Beetle)
The Terrible Silence - All things will end, and they shall do so when her master reigns, but in the meantime she does not revel in death or violence. She has never wanted to destroy, only to see destruction. She would not kill you. It is not a mercy.
Divine Champion of the god Destruction (the Antlion)
Corvid** - No qualms about murder. Absolutely none. It's sort of her job, really. Would also kill if it made her life easier, or for dramatic effect. LIVES for drama, really. Doesn't go after random passers by usually, but she does tend to cause a lot of collateral damage...
Divine Champion of the god Vengeance (the Mantis)
**Also has a hair-trigger temper (see: Divine Champion of the Mantis). Most likely to kill you purely by accident (and then not care).
The Overseer - When you're a necromancer, it's generally very beneficial to have more people dead than alive, generally speaking. He'd much rather a perfect rotting puppet than a living breathing being. But if you could convince him of your usefulness, or of the benefits of keeping him alive... well. Maybe he would just let you go.
Divine Champion of the god Control (the Hive)
The Golden Mask - A strange creature, with unusual powers and no obvious connection to any of the seven gods... everything they do is to benefit themselves. Are you going to be more useful as a tool, or as a corpse? Choose wisely
Amaldyne (pre-death) - Powerful, certainly. Dangerous, certainly. She is hungry, yes, but it drives her to do good. To BE good. Despite the slipups, despite her friends turning away from her, turning ON her. But she’s functioned this long. She could resist the call to devour. She has resisted it before. But sometimes sacrifices need to be made. Sometimes she just needs to eat. Let’s hope that when you meet her, she’s well-fed and on her way.
Divine Acolyte of Hunger (the Locust)
Askavenenoth - If her love wants to see this world in ashes then she will reduce it to cinders. She is so angry, so scared, she spent so long powerless in this world of gods and monsters. She will see destruction reign, and the Terrible Silence descend upon the land. If you meet her know that you do so on the battlefield and that she does not have mercy.
Divine Acolyte of the god Destruction (the Antlion), knight and lover to the Terrible Silence
Eityr - with hindsight, placed much too far right (I’m too lazy to change it now). She spent long, long years without even a modicum of free will or control and now she cast all those things aside. No laws shall limit her, nothing shall ever again fasten a leash around her throat and tell her to heel, and Amaldyne shall be the key to this freedom. She is quick to violence, and will not hesitate to follow each whim. If she does choose murder, plead your case to Amaldyne.
Divine Servant torn between the gods Knowledge and Destruction (the Scorpion and the Locust), would-be Divine Champion of Amaldyne
Drakkus - Her name means “traveler,” and she chose it himself. A very easy-going gal, believes firmly in right and wrong (although she has something of a vain, selfish streak). She is also a tremendously skilled fighter who would not hesitate to defend herself, should the need arise. You’d need to put some effort in, but it certainly wouldn't be impossible.
Leoshgon (pre-sword) - Flightless and weak in dragonflame, he is a stain on House Varmillius. He is weaker than many (but not all), and has no interest in killing. He knows he probably couldn’t, and anyway why should he bother? The Godslayer Sword and the destiny it promises await him, he has no reason to resort to violence unless it was his only option.
Leoshgon (post-sword) - the sword drained him. His life. His dragonflame. Now he has only sparks left. He has met destiny and then gone past it, and has found nothing but bitter disappointment on the other side. He’s not inclined to violence, but he can manage if he must. All he wants is to really, finally live, even if it means snatching the opportunity from others first.

📊 LANDOSCAR AO3 STATS (may 2025)

notes
sorry this literally took 2 weeks to write... unfortunately the data was retrieved april 28 and it is now may 12.
other work: i previously wrote a stats overview that covered landoscar's fic growth and breakout in 2023 :) i've kept some of the formatting and graphs that i showed there, while other things have been removed or refined because i felt they'd become redundant or unnecessary (aka they were basically just a reflection of fandom growth in general, and not unique or interesting to landoscar as a ship specifically).
methodology: i simply scraped the metadata for every fic in the landoscar tag (until april 28, 2025) and then imported it into google sheets to clean, with most visualizations done in tableau. again, all temporal data is by date updated (not posted) unless noted otherwise. this is because the date that appears on the parent view of the ao3 archives is the updated one, so it's the only feasible datapoint to collect for 3000+ fics.
content: this post does not mention any individual authors or concern itself with kudos, hits, comments, etc. i purely describe archive growth and overall analysis of metadata like word count and tagging metrics.
cleaning: after importing my data, i standardized ship spelling, removed extra "814" or "landoscar" tags, and merged all versions of one-sided, background, implied, past, mentioned etc. into a single "(side)" modifier. i also removed one fic entirely from the dataset because the "loscar" tag was being mistakenly wrangled as landoscar, but otherwise was not actually tagged as landoscar. i also removed extra commentary tags in the ships sets that did not pertain to any ships.
overall stats
before we get into any detailed distributions, let's first look at an overview of the archive as of 2025! in their 2-and-change years as teammates, landoscar have had over 3,409 fics written for them, good enough for 3rd overall in the f1 archives (behind lestappen and maxiel).
most landoscar fics are completed one-shots (although note that a one-shot could easily be 80k words—in fact they have about 30 single-chapter fics that are at least 50k words long), and they also benefit from a lot of first-tagged fic, which is to say 82.3% of landoscar-tagged fics have them as the first ship, implying that they aren't often used as a fleeting side pairing and artificially skewing perception of their popularity. in fact, over half of landoscar fics are PURELY tagged as landoscar (aka otp: true), with no other side pairings tagged at all.
this percentage has actually gone down a bit since 2023 (65.5%), which makes sense since more lando and oscar ships have become established and grown in popularity over the years, but it's also not a very big difference yet...
ship growth
of course, landoscar have grown at a frankly terrifying rate since 2023. remember this annotated graph i posted comparing their growth during the 2023 season to that of carlando and loscar, respectively their other biggest ship at the time? THIS IS HER NOW:
yes... that tiny squished down little rectangle... (wipes away stray tear) they grow up so fast. i also tried to annotate this graph to show other "big" landoscar moments in the timeline since, but i honestly struggled with this because they've just grown SO exponentially and consistently that i don't even feel like i can point to anything as a proper catalyst of production anymore. that is to say, i think landoscar are popular enough now that they have a large amount of dedicated fans/writers who will continuously work on certain drafts and stories regardless of what happens irl, so it's hard to point at certain events as inspiring a meaningful amount of work.
note also that this is all going by date updated, so it's not a true reflection of ~growth~ as a ficdom. thankfully ao3 does have a date_created filter that you can manually enter into the search, but because of this limitation i can't create graphs with the granularity and complexity that scraping an entire archive allows me. nevertheless, i picked a few big ships that landoscar have overtaken over the last 2 years and created this graph using actual date created metrics!!!
this is pretty self-explanatory of course but i think it's fun to look at... :) it's especially satisfying to see how many ships they casually crossed over before the end of 2024.
distributions
some quick graphs this time. rating distribution remains extremely similar to the 2023 graph, with explicit fic coming out on top at 28%:
last time i noted a skew in ratings between the overall f1 rpf tag and the landoscar tag (i.e. landoscar had a higher prevalence of e fic), but looking at it a second time i honestly believe this is more of a cultural shift in (f1? sports rpf? who knows) fandom at large and not specific to landoscar as a ship — filtering the f1 rpf tag to works updated from 2023 onward shows that explicit has since become the most popular rating in general, even when excluding landoscar-tagged fics. is it because fandom is getting more horny in general, or because the etiquette surrounding what constitutes t / m / e has changed, or because people are less afraid to post e fic publicly and no longer quarantine it to locked livejournal posts? or something else altogether? Well i don't know and this is a landoscar stats post so it doesn't matter but that could be something for another thought experiment. regardless because of that i feel like further graphs aren't really necessary 🤷♀️
onto word distribution:
still similar to last time, although i will note that there's a higher representation of longfic now!!! it might not seem like much, but i noted last year that 85% of landoscar fics were under 10k & 97% under 25k — these numbers are now 78% and 92% respectively, which adds up in the grand scheme of a much larger archive. you'll also notice that the prevalence of <1k fic has gone down as well.
for the fun of it here's the wc distribution but with a further rating breakdown; as previously discussed you're more likely to get G ratings in flashfic because there's less wordspace to Make The Porn Happen. of course there are nuances to this but that's just a broad overview
side ships
what other ships are landoscar shippers shipping these days??? a lot of these ships are familiar from last time, but there are two new entries in ham/ros and pia/sai overtaking nor/ric and gas/lec to enter the top 10. ships that include at least one of lando or oscar are highlighted in orange:
of course, i pulled other 814-adjacent ships, but unfortunately i've realized that a lot of them simply aren't that popular/prevalent (context: within the 814 tag specifically) so they didn't make the top 10... because of that, here's a graph with only ships that include lando or oscar and have a minimum of 10 works within the landoscar tag:
eta: other primarily includes oscar & lily and maxf & lando. lando doesn't really have that many popular pairings within landoscar shippers otherwise...
i had wanted to explore these ships further and look at their growth/do some more in depth breakdowns of their popularity, but atm they're simply not popular enough for me to really do anything here. maybe next year?!
that being said, i did make a table comparing the prevalence of side ships within the 814 tag to the global f1 archives, so as to contextualize the popularity of each ship (see 2023). as usually, maxiel is very underrepresented in the landoscar tag, with galex actually receiving quite a boost compared to before!
additional tags
so last time i only had about 400 fics to work with and i did some analysis on additional tags / essentially au tagging. however, the problem is that there are now 3000 fics in my set, and the limitations of web scraping means that i'm not privy to the tag wrangling that happens in Da Backend of ao3. basically i'm being given all the raw versions of these au tags, whereas on ao3 "a/b/o" and "alpha/beta/omega dynamics" and "au - alpha/beta/omega" and "alternate universe - a/b/o" are all being wrangled together. because it would take way too long for me to do all of this manually and i frankly just don't want to clean that many fics after already going through all the ship tags, i've decided to not do any au analysis because i don't think it would be an accurate reflection of the data...
that being said, i had one new little experiment! as landoscar get more and more competitive, i wanted to chart how ~angsty~ they've gotten as a ship on ao3. i wanted to make a cumulative graph that shows how the overall fluff % - angst % difference has shifted over time, but ummmm... tableau and i had a disagreement. so instead here is a graph of the MoM change in angst % (so basically what percentage of the fics updated in that month specifically were tagged angst?):
the overall number is still not very drastic at all and fluff still prevails over angst in the landoscar archive. to be clear, there are 33.2% fics tagged some variation of fluff and 21.4% fics tagged some variation of angst overall, so there's a fluff surplus of 11.8%. but there has definitely been a slight growth in angst metrics over the past few months!
—
i will leave this here for now... if there's anything specific that you're interested in lmk and i can whip it up!!! hehe ty for reading 🧡
#adflkahsdflakhsdlfkahdf i wrote all of this and then lost 80% of my draft. so i had to write it all again#sorry this is a lot shorter than last time too T__T i honestly just felt like a lot of the old graphs were irrelevant#hopefully some of the information is still interesting though even if it's not particularly surprising!!#landoscar#*s

Someday I'll get a little more pedantic about my new ability to study myself and my writing habits and I'll start like. Putting notches in the walls. Whenever I get a new idea and/or start a new wip. Color code this in a bullet journal.
I am my favorite wildlife to study.
#When I was like 12#I would spend days in my head drafting chapters for a “guide to raising your jaymeow”#And it was wild and I adored it and I would spend hours studying my own behavior so I could explain it to my friends#And now I have little graphs on my own writing speed#And eating habits#And water intake#Jaymeow speaks#I am my own favorite wildlife#I keep so many notes on myself#I need to keep even more#I have mood trackers#And writing trackers

honestly nano had a big part in helping me write the first draft of my novel (which I did by hand) between November 2022 and July-August 2023, but like. I don't need it to help me with the organization aspect (I learned how to use excel and have maintained word counting spreadsheets since 2023, including funky tags for categorization stuffs) or for community (I talk to very few people anyway; when doing nano and camp nano the three or so times it took me to finish my novel, I pretty much only talked to two friends about my project).
I have notebooks, and a buncha ink. I can very well just decide to do a writing challenge on my own and pull through writing 1k+ words by hand every day literally fucking whenever. I've done it thrice.
anyway points and laughs at nanowrimo
#//txt#nanowrimo#just finished backing up the funky lil graphs that nanowrimo drafts up when you put in data etc simply bc i wanted to have them#for posterity’s sake ykno#prolly gonna delete my acc tomorrow#or just wait till the site inevitably goes down#man#what a shitshow#//writing

Sigma theory through a mathematical lens
Bc yk their name's Sigma
(not scary I promise. I hope)

In mathematics the Greek letter sigma (σ) is often used as a variable. Uppercase sigma (Σ) is used as an operator for summation.
Now let's get into bsd real quick (beast spoilers ahead). If what Fyodor said was true, then Sigma was written into the main universe. Thanks to beastzai, we also know that there's an infinite number of possible worlds.
So, combining maths and the information about the Book, we can treat the possible versions of Sigma as variables and call them σ. In a function, each variable has its value, so in that case it'd be Sigma's traits, things they did, what happened to them, etc, in the given universe. The function would look like that:
σ - Sigma variant
f(σ) - what happens to the relevant Sigma σ
I'll take Akutagawa as an example bc it's easier to explain:
Akutagawa from the main universe is in the PM, but Beast!Akutagawa is in the ADA.
x -the variable, Akutagawa's variant (for Sigma it's σ)
f(x) - he's in the PM / ADA
f(x₁)=PM, f(x₂)=ADA
Sigma is either a function just like above or the sum of all the sequence elements (that can also be called σ) in a sequence.
My interpretations:
Sigma - as a variable or a sequence element - can choose what value they want to have, that is what they'll do in the main bsd world (for example the action from σ₁, σ₂ or σ₄₀₀₀₀'s world). For someone who's being manipulated this is crucial, especially in the current chapters.
I don't mean that Sigma is doing all those things consciously, but rather that it's their nature or some sort of "power" given to them by the Book's words. That way they may contradict what was written in the Book regarding them.
That would even deepen the inconsistency and lack of stability they feel, since their identity is constantly changing.
I don't actually believe Sigma was put in the main bsd world from another universe / written in, I prefer the theory that they have amnesia / memory loss. But what I wrote would still makes sense in such case.
Now I know this probably isn't what Asagiri has planned for Sigma but even so it's cool. You can treat it as an alternative interpretation of their character 💪🏻
#i hope i didnt mess the maths terms up since I had to Google how are they called in English#and i hope logically everything makes sense too#it's been sitting in my drafts for months now#I even wanted to draw a graph#sigma bsd#bsd sigma#bsd theory#I have to thank my father for giving me inspiration for this#bsd#bungou stray dogs#bsd analysis#sigma bungou stray dogs#maths ppl and non maths ppl tell me if u get me

this is from staying on the phone a bit too late pondering many things, so do ignore if it passes the threshold of hypothetical into reality sounding:
in an honest recollection, i would be juxtaposed if someone thought of me as favorable or something sacred between being flattered & profoundly disturbed. to further emphasize, i guess i mean…. in a sort of… ownership way. i have to say this because being appreciated is something i will never find wrong, & even with extremes a middle ground can be found & discussed out. there is always a chance to talk about things to me. but, but, being appreciated yet simultaneously treated like a commodity is oxymoronic to what i wish to be
in the end, i want to be human. i want to feel human, even if i know i like saying im like white noise or filtration systems or wires or what have you. i want to be treated like a human, to be treated like any other person— which in my eyes is basic respect. to me, being treated like a commodity is both insulting & demeaning— it is like i truly am a barbie doll you are trying to control, and it unnerves me. there is a price above my head saying ‘YOU CANNOT TOUCH ME’, & its vile. i want to be available, i want to be able to choose, i want to know both a 50 year old guy who loves driving his ford f150 & a trans woman who makes synth music without having someone even indirectly steering others away from this.
#this was a draft#<- from maybe a month or two ago. cannot graph the exact timeline but not written recently

Godot Blend #218 (w/ graphs)
I ran the numbers on Franziska’s dialogue gimmick a while back, so I figured why not do the same for Godot and plot out just how much he talks about coffee.
First off, here’s the number of times each character uses the word “coffee” over the course of the trilogy:
In terms of raw number of occurrences, Phoenix uses the word “coffee” more than any other character, including Godot. Obviously, he also has significantly more lines than any other character, though, so his rate of using the word is pretty low:
Phoenix: 56 lines with “coffee” / 20,895 total lines = ~0.3% lines feature “coffee”
Godot: 48 lines with “coffee” / 1,163 total lines = ~4.1% lines feature “coffee”
Across characters, the word “coffee” occurs 218 times, in 201 lines of dialogue
More detailed breakdown / additional graphs after the jump (minor/indirect AA Trilogy spoilers ahead!)
I have Godot and Armando listed separately in the previous chart based on which name each line is linked to in the episode transcripts, but it probably makes more sense to combine their lines.
Godot + Armando: 57 lines with “coffee” / 1,298 total lines = 4.4% lines feature “coffee”
It probably also makes sense to consider that a lot of Godot’s lines are clearly about coffee but don’t directly include the word “coffee” in them, so I also looked at lines that featured what I’m calling “coffee-related words” (coffee, cup, blend, drink, mocha, java, mug, con leche, and au lait).
Here’s a graph with the number of lines that Godot/Armando have that feature at least one of these words, by episode:
And here’s the same thing, but expressed as a percentage of their total number of lines:
Collapsed across episodes, Godot/Armando has 104 lines featuring a coffee-related word, which comes out to a rate of 8.2% of his lines being coffee-themed.
It’s worth mentioning that counting the number of lines actually relevant to Godot’s dialogue gimmick is tricky in that there are a number of other lines in addition to the ones featuring a “coffee-related word” that are evocative of coffee but don’t actually refer to it directly (e.g., he often uses words like “bitter”/”bitterness”, “aromatic”, and phrases like “filled to the brim”). The way that I counted coffee-related lines would not count those lines, so in a way, you could consider my approach to understate how much of his dialogue actually involves the gimmick (if you consider that kind of phrasing to also be relevant).*
I think it’s interesting to note that Franziska used “fool” words in ~4.5% of her dialogue overall, which is around the same rate that Godot used the word “coffee,” BUT Godot talks about coffee a good bit more often than that (8.2%+).
This means that more of Godot’s dialogue relates to coffee than Franziska’s dialogue relates to calling people fools. There is no benefit to knowing this, but I thought it was neat :)
*A few of the lines that are counted are ambiguously relevant (3 lines are refer to the victim in Recipe for Turnabout drinking, and 1 is an indirect reference to the gimmick itself—“17 cups of ketchup”), but there are more instances of coffee-evocative lines that aren’t counted than ambiguously relevant lines that are counted, so I would still consider the 8.3% an under-count for how much of Godot’s dialogue is affected by his coffee gimmick.

what if i wrote a fake paper abt dragons instead of writing my dissertation
#listen. would it be a good idea? no. could I do it? probably! would it be good? debatable!#would it get me into the right headspace to do my diss? potentially! which might in fact make it a net good to society#therefore I MUST do it and cannot be held accountable for any damages incurred during the writing of the aforementioned dragon paper#such as critical time wastage and I forgot how my internal voice changes after reading a book (men at arms - terry pratchett<3)#I could EVEN make it like. my actual field of study.#this is genuinely kinda a good idea to get me back into writing scientifically bc I should actually be doing this#I need to have drafts for introduction/some of methods in. 10 days. that’s a decent amount of time okay. enough for dragon paper…#I could make GRAPHS. it wouldn’t even be hard. someone stop me#luke.txt

the seventh virtue drafting journey is soooo crazy to me bc I did the 10k day in may 2021 & then exactly a year later I was 60k into the manuscript & then from august 2022 to early march 2023 (a tiny bit over 6 months) I wrote the remaining 138 000 words LOL
#138K IN SIX MONTHSSSSSSSSSSS???????????#HUHHHHH#did I do the math wrong on that#I don't think so??? the graph literally has a spike LOL#I was working on feeding habits between this I think? tho I think mostly short stories#I'm not kidding tho I took AN ENTIRE YEAR off from feeding habits LOL (july 2021 to june 2022)#anyway I should go through my stats in a video I think it'd be interesting to show that diff projects take different time#like just checked the one from moth work and I drafted it consistently from august of 2019 but then took a break till october#of that year! then a break from oct to nov and basically just working on it once a month#AND I FORGOT I FINISHED THAT BOOK ON FUCKING LEAP DAY THIS MAKES SOOO MUCH SENSE LOLLLLL#lonan and harrison only having the anniversary of their first book being finished every 4 years..... so them#GOTTA DIG INTO THESE STATS ACTUALLY THIS WILL BE SO FUN#this is on mywriteclub & I started w moth work so we have lots of graphs to look at!!!!!!

Also tell me why I havent heard from my lab partner in ten days when the paper deadline is this Friday.
#I wanted to send another draft to our professor before tuesday#But :)))) nope#The guy needs to chance TWO sentences and apply significant figures to one of the graphs#THATS ALL#And listen up until now he's been really great and has done a lot of fucking work#But. Is it that hard to send a quick message saying hey I won't be able to work until after easter#Unless the man or his family is in the hospital there is no reason to not send a quick message#Just to let me know when he's planning on doing those two lol things#If i dont hear from him by tomorrow afternoon I'm doing it myself and sending the draft#The professor will see only I made changes to the document bc im putting it in review mode but that's not my problem
