i understand what people are saying when they talk about fandom overstating the importance of farcille to the dunmeshi narrative and that their frustrations are related to a larger frustration with fandom in general prioritising shipping over other relationships/narrative themes. HOWEVER i do find it a little suspect and annoying that the one time the Big Tumblr Thing Of The Month has a popular f/f ship that the fandom is over-extrapolating from in the same way that fandom usually over-extrapolates m/m relationships i'm suddenly seeing all these posts complaining about it

hey this isn’t aimed at anyone in particular but I’m saying it for the record here: if I tell you no, please stop messaging me about fundraisers and mutual aid.

I get enough messages that it’s impossible for me to keep up without devoting at least half an hour each day, when I’m not even on tumblr that long most days. Me having a boundary about this isn’t a moral failing, it’s a lifeboat for me on my own blog.

In my personal life I’m already advocating and donating literally as much as I can spare. This is not me not caring, it’s just me not willing to interact with that on the one place I go online to not interact with irl news and world events for the most part.

I cannot be upset all the time. I cannot be upset everywhere. I cannot use all my emotional and mental energy fielding my own upset from ongoing events. My options are to hold boundaries about this or stop coming online at all.

I’m all for sharing information and signal boosting to reasonable extents, but the scale of it this year is so large and so enduring that it is literally not possible to for me to participate on every account I have. I’ve previously shared links to Gaza eSIM donations and a major hub of verified Go Fund Mes here and elsewhere online. We, the online humans, know how to look those things up ourselves by now. There are many, many people choosing to do advocacy work, and right now, I can’t be one of them.

If you’re extremely upset when I tell you I can’t share/donate right now about a Gaza family or personal fundraiser you ask me to share here, just unfollow and block me. That’s what those buttons are for. Protect your own emotions and energy and get me off your feed instead of staying upset and continuing to engage with online people or content that upsets you.

Please don’t send repeated angry messages based on manufactured purity politics and moral outrage into my messages and inbox when I exercise the right to run my own blog.

The Krew works out together, usually honing a particular skill that they wish to work on (agility, weight lifting, defensive maneuvers, etc). Gideon is always extremely excited about it, and as the only one who's actually into fitness, he likes to hype up everyone especially when they beat their PB.

He'd never admit it but seeing Gideon happy is the reason Kremy actually gives a shit rather than phoning it in. The rest, while it's a bit of a struggle, do enjoy having a skill to get them out of a bind.

I truly truly TRUUULY wonder why Lilith's eyes are always drawn hidden by either a shadow or glasses. Regardless of my blog's divergence, I'm still really curious about the direction of the show. The next seasons can't come quick enough.

so I have these eccentricities of habit-formation/behaviour-change/etc, right -- where small, incremental changes don't work, and large, identity-defining changes through inflexible rules work better. this works well when it works. but it works through rigidity, and consequently is brittle. it can falter in the face of the uncertainties and inconsistencies of the real world.

this has been especially troublesome with the intermittent illness. if I am inconsistent enough, it chips away at the critical element of being able to believe I am [person with trait]. and it is difficult to build back, with the difficulty of starting small. I need a dramatic disproof! that I can hang everything off until the next time it all falls apart.

and "softer" rules don't work for me, because as mentioned in the rules post, if I can negotiate it, I probably will, and in fact not only that but I will probably get stuck on that with decision paralysis. it has to be non-negotiable.

so now I am working on a way of reframing small, actionable steps into an identity-defining change. I am aiming for identity as "person who shows up", and then, later, "person who finishes what they start".

in practical terms this isn't actually any different to "walk 5 minutes every day", but it perhaps applies a different motivational mechanism to do so. not an "I am doing something small" but rather an "I am building something large" -- I am not building the fitness in tiny steps; I am actually taking fairly modest steps towards building the type of person who shows up no matter what. and importantly, not a "letting myself off easy".

I think this is also possibly a way of approaching the building fortitude against being sick thing.

PSA: reblogging a post with more tags will not make that post show up in the tag unless it was already there originally. This basically means that your rb tags are for your blog organisation purposes only and for your mutuals to filter out.

What will happen now is that your followers who filtered the tag #bleebusshow season 1 spoilers will no longer see the post, as well as the other tags you've rb'ed with and the op's tags if they filtered those out. However, the post itself will only show up in the first three tags OP put, and therefore won't show up in, for example, #blorbo bleebus character analysis.

I'm not sure if this applies to rbs with additions, but that's the gist of how it works. Which is to say that you can't add tags in order to make the post reach a wider audience as a reblog because it just doesn't work that way. Nobody's stopping you because it's harmless either way, but that is quite redundant and honestly a waste of time.

If it's an important source of information, you'd be better off either reaching out to op asking them to add more tags or just flat out reposting with your own wording and sources and adding your tags. If it's fandom... You're probably not able to do anything by adding more tags. In which case rb'ing multiple times or queueing for later will do the post more good than adding a lot of tags on a single rb.

I think the reason I differ from a lot of Akechi fans (and I am sincerely a fan!) is that I don’t find his backstory all that sad or for that matter interesting. It might be because I see it more interesting analyzed as a warped reflection of Ken Amanda’s backstory rather than a unique story of its own. And his plan, I find it pathetic more than anything else, sad only in its level of sheer stupidity, shortsightedness and miserable ineffectuality of self obsessed teenager-hood. But that’s what’s compelling about it and him! in my eyes, what’s interesting and unique about his character and has the potential to tell new stories that haven’t been done before has nothing to do with his pain or his redemption, except when kept in conversation with the undeniable fact that his plan was an ass-backwards idiotic and selfish plan fueled on nothing but spite by a deeply self-centered child who grew into an egotistical young adult without any reckoning of how completely stupid and impossible it all was.
