Wall o’ Text : The Nintendo Direct
Figured I may as well type up my thoughts on everything from the Direct.  I have it going in the background to remember everything that was shown.  So yeah, if you care about trailer spoilers, now’s your chance to bail, yo.
So let’s get to it, and hopefully not get interrupted by another powerout.
1) Pokemon ScVi DLC - I’m looking forward to these.  ScVi can be a buggy mess, but I still overall enjoyed the games.  Since I’m not super competitive, I don’t look at a bunch of new legendaries as “OH GOD WHAT WILL THIS DO TO THE META QUICK BAN EVERYTHING,” I just see them as “Oh, cool, new things to collect and train, yay!” I do however hope there are still some things they might be hiding.  I’d like to see some new Paradox forms show up.
2) Sonic Superstars - Honestly looks pretty good.  I do wonder if we might get more characters as DLC.  I’d especially love to see what a Classic style Cream would look like.
3) Palia - ...... (checks “cozy farm sim off the bingo sheet”)  Nothing really stood out to me here, other than the phrase “free to play,” meaning microtransaction heck.  No thanks.
4) Persona 5 Tactica - Tactics games usually aren’t a go to for me, though this looks maybe more like the kind of tactics used in things like Mario + Rabbids, which I enjoyed, so I might be interested in this one?  Not super high priority, but on the radar.
5) Mythforce - This honestly might be on the “I’ll want to see more” list.  The artstyle is actually pretty dang nice, it definitely captures that He-Man style saturday morning cartoon look.
6) New Splatfest - Well, I can’t play online, don’t even HAVE Splatoon 3, but as far as choice, I’m torn between Strawberry or Mint Chip, love both of those.  But hey, Vanilla is good too.  Honestly hard to pick on this one.
7) Detective Pikachu Returns - Okay, was NOT expecting that.  I enjoyed the original, so definitely happy for it.
8) Super Mario RPG Remaster - Oh gods it looks beautiful.  It’s one of the rare RPGs that I really did enjoy, so I’ll likely be interested in this one.
9) Untitled Peach Game - Intrigued, but we know like, nothing.
10) Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon Port - I have the 3DS game, but never actually played it, so this might spur me to do so.
11) Batman : Arkham Trilogy - I might actually want this.  I loved Assylum and City, never got to play Knight, but I quite enjoyed the ones I did play.  A case of “wouldn’t mind an excuse to play them again.”
12) Gloomhaven - No real strong thoughts on this one admittedly.
13) Just Dance 2024 Edition - (checks the year)  Hey, you can’t do that!  Anyway, no real strong feeling here either,
14) Silent Hope - I’m not sure anything really drew me in on this one.  The concept of no one being able to talk, I at first wondered what that would do for storytelling, like, how they’d work with that concept.  I figured it could be interesting, but also would run the risk of if everything’s just pantomimed, it could get tiring.  But then we just get an NPC that talks for everyone anyway, so... (shrug).
15) Fae Farm - Oy, I already got the “cozy farming sim” checkmark.  No strong feelings here.
16) Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged - I never played that previous Hot Wheels game that came up, but it looked like it could be interesting.  Was the original any good?
17) Manic Mechanics - Basically Undercooked but with car fixing?  I’ve played Undercooked solo which, uh....  Oof.  It’s a lot to keep track of, haha.  Definitely something that would be more fun with other players.
18) Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC - I still need to finish the first game, but it is enjoyable.  So happy for this, and already have the pass so got it downloaded.
19) Dragon Quest Monsters : The Dark Prince - Heck yeah new DQM, I did enjoy those games, so might want this.
20) Pikmin 4 - (hype intensifies)  Super looking forward to this.  I’m happy to see Pikmin 2 style dungeons return, I enjoyed those.  Wonder if we have a time limit this time or not, I can enjoy with or without, but I do wonder if this might be more PIkmin 2 style “take your time,” which I can appreciate.
21) Pikmin 1 + 2 - Heck yeah, all four Pikmin games on one system?  Well, no Hey Pikmin, but the mainline ones, which heck yeah.  I’ll probably wait for the physical version though.
22) Metal Gear Solid : Master Collection Vol. 1 - I’ve never been too into the Metal Gear series, buuuuuut I might be thinking of getting it as a holiday gift for my uncle.
23) Vampire Survivors - Already got it on Steam.  And still haven’t figured out how to survive a full minute past Death’s appearance which is like, a requirement on every stage.
24) Headbangers Rhythm Royale - My only real thought here is Team 17 made a pigeon game, so they will explode violently and not where you told them to.
25) Penny’s Big Breakaway - This looks super fun, I hope it turns out good.
26) Mario Kart 8 DLC - I’m kind of surprised Kamek got in as the Tour rep over Pauline.
27) Star Ocean The Second Story R - I have no real nostalgia for this one, never played the original, don’t know much about the series.
28) WarioWare : Move It! - My only concern is how responsive will the motion controls be.  I usually find motion controls frustrating.
29) Nintendo Live - No way I’d be able to attend, so no real thoughts.
30) Tears of the Kingdom amiibos - These look cool, definitely want them.
31) Super Mario Bros. Wonder - Honestly, yes please.  This looks super fun.
So yeah, all in all, very strong Direct.

Nintendo Direct: June 2023
I have been catching the last couple of Nintendo Directs, and I was super psyched to see the most recent one. The one before gave us old handheld systems playable on the Nintendo Switch. So I was hoping for good news in games coming up...
Tumblr media
Now, I watched it on 6/25 so days after. If you have a switch, you can still watch it. Or maybe Youtube? Here are some of my thoughts on the games I saw:
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC: I have been out of the pokemon loop for while but the DLC’s look good.
Sonic: same thing with pokemon, but glad to see it still alive. It has been around a while.
Palia: looks like a neat real life simulator.
Persona 5 Tactica: Cute characters in chibi form! Happy to see a title that has only one other title on switch to have more titles.
Mythforce: this is such a nostalgia trap, but it looks real fun! I would totally play this!
Splatoon 3 Splatfest: This game seems like COD but kid version. I never really got into this. But this looks like DLC.
Detective Pikachu Returns: The movie was great, the game was good. I love this as a direction for Pokemon.
Super Mario RPG: This is a remake of an older game of the same name. It looks like a refreshing take on mario games, which are classic.
New Nintendo Switch Peach Game: This looks like another remake of an older game.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 Dark Moon: Another old remake, I do love the Luigi games and hope that this is to appease the players as they make a new one.
Batman Arkham Trilogy: This was supposed to be one of the better batman games and comics, and this looks dope-I am looking forward to playing this for the first time on switch.
Gloomhaven: Good looking game, card based.
Just Dance: nice active game, nice to see it continuing.
Silent Hope: Anime game. meh.
Fae Farm: this looks good, I kind of think there are too many simulators out, but it is supposed to be one of the better ones.
Hot Wheels Unleased 2: Looks ok for a racing game, but I also kind of feel like there is a lot of competition in this genre.
Manic Mechanics: This game looks like overcooked, and the builder game. I love games like this, this one is happening.
Mario + Rabbids Spark of Hope: Mario doesn’t do well in turn based games, in my opinion, but its an interesting game.
Dragon Quest Monsters: This looks like a pokemon wannabe, but it looks not bad.
Pikmin 1, 2, 4: I have never played this series but it looks cute and I would not mind this as a multiplayer family game.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection: this is an old game, I might even try it if it goes on sale.
Vampire Survivors: This game looks really fun, simple but oh so deceptively hard. I do really want to try this game.
Headbangers Rhythm Royale: I am getting this game, its a beat game with birds. Yes.
Penny’s Big Breakaway: It looks like a hodgepodge of many games but unique in its own way.
Mario Kart Booster Course Pass Wave 5: I should be more excited but I am not.
Star Ocean The Second Story R: Meh, another anime game.
WarioWare Move It: This looks like 1 2 switch but mario, I mean wario. Might be nice for an active game.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Amiibo: Amiibos are still a thing? This game looks good, but there are so many zeldas out at one time right now.
Super Mario Bros Wonder: Looks like a new direction for the mario side scroller.
For those that want to read more about this: https://www.nintendolife.com/features/nintendo-direct-june-2023-every-announcement-and-game-reveal
There were so many games revealed, that I had to reference the list to make this post. Obviously, ones that did not stick with me means I was not the intended customer but there are so many gaming customers these days! Games I am looking forward to are: Headbangers Rhythm Royale, Vampire Survivors, Manic Mechanics, Batman Arkham Trilogy. What games are you looking forward to?

Direct review time (6/21/23)
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC: Neat
Sonic Superstars: It’s so weird seeing a completely 3D Classic Sonic game, but I’m listening...
Palia: FARMING SIM FARMING SIM FARMING SIM
Persona 5 Tactica: So Persona but XCOM? Okay
Mythforce: BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL... IIIIIIT LOOOOKS FIIIIIIIIINE!!!!
Splatoon 3 Splatfest: Mint Chip gang all the way
Detective Pikachu Returns: Like Crash 4, it’s about damn time!
Super Mario RPG remaster: YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Untitled Peach game: Huh... I was not expecting that
Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon remaster: oh neat!
Batman Arkham Trilogy: Nananana nananana nananana nananana SWITCH POOOOORT!
Gloomhaven: It looks fine
Just Dance 2024: It’s Just Dance... I don’t think there’s anything to say about it
Silent Hope: Taking that “Silent anime-RPG protagonist” trope to a whole new level, are we?
Fae Farm: FARMING SIM FARMING SIM FARMING SIM
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged: It looks fine
Manic Mechanics: So Overcooked but cars? ...okay
M+R Sparks of Hope - The Last Spark Hunter: As someone who just recently beat the main game, I’m listening, though not as intensely as I am to the Rayman DLC
Dragon Quest Monsters the Dark Prince: Dragon Quest but the protagonist is V from DMC5
Pikmin 4: ...So Ghost Pikmin basically?
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1: Snake? SNAKE?! SNAAAAAAAAAKE!!!
Vampire Survivors: So... is it like a top-down Warriors game?
Headbangers Rhythm Royale: ...Well that was a thing...
Penny’s Big Breakaway: Cool
MK8D Booster Course Wave 5: Good to finally see Kamek in a mainline Mario Kart. Bro has been waiting since 64 for this. And looks like those leaks about a bathroom track were real!
Star Ocean the Second Story R: So does this count as an isekai or...?
Warioware Move It!: Didn’t we literally just get another Warioware game last year?
Nintendo Live 2023 Seattle: It looks fine
Tears of the Kingdom Amiibo: It looks fine
Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Whoa, man... I think those shrooms are finally kicking in...
That was a good one. It was nice to finally see a decent chunk of Mario content in a while. Now to wait for Papagenos’ stream reactions so I can see him “Papa” off at the SMRPG remaster (I am in no way sorry for that pun)

Note
Okay so the second trailer for the Mario movie just dropped and
1) ANNA TAYLOR JOY IS FUCKING KILLING IT AS PEACH HOLY SHIT
2) Going into it I kinda knew that Peach was gonna be more involved and not the "damsel in distress" but originally I was expecting it to be forced and seems that's not that case!!! Peach isn't made into a fucking annoying "she don't need no man!1!1" girl power protagonist with no personality. Peach isn't even getting kidnapped in this either, she directly fights Bowser which is a pretty neat change!!
3) Charlie Day is top tier casting. I don't care what anyone says. He is Luigi. He fits so fucking well sksks
4) Donkey Kong seems to be playing a secondary antagonist role but God I am not ready to hear Seth Rogan's voice coming out of DK's mouth 😭
5) Mario kart is involved somehow sksks
Overall I'd say most of my worries have been thankfully put to rest and this is shaping up to be on the level of both Sonic movies and even Detective Pikachu 👁👁
Yes!
Crispy Rat tho…(/derogatory)

What are the weirdest things to happen to you on Tumblr?
I’ll go in order of least to most weird.
1. Discussing with @krwzprtt on whether or not Kirby could defeat Thanos in a fight. We came to the conclusion that although it would be difficult for him, he is able to do so.
2. Getting dragged into the middle of a re-enactment of the Battle of Wits scene from the Princess Bride by @krwzprtt and @the-aefe
3. Me and @the-aefe sparking a discussion in the notes of a Detective Pikachu post by @whencartoonsruletheworld of what Pokémon would be suitable for assassination attempts.
4. Not directly on this, but on a side Ask Blog. Bowser getting into an argument with Mario, Luigi, and Sonic on whether or not he is allowed to say Fuck.
5. Also on the side Ask Blog, Bowser forcing other characters to look at Super Crowned versions of themselves as revenge for what the internet put him through.
6. Before the Great Porn Ban, unfortunately seeing Link giving Sidon a handjob to his two luminescent cyan dicks.
7. While browsing the tags of Epithet Erased, I found an AU that disturbed me enough to be the first tag I ever blocked. I’m not judging the creators of that AU, it didn’t change my enjoyment of the show or anything and whatever they enjoy writing/drawing is their business, but I didn’t enjoy that discovery.

hehe, so since im in a video game mood rn and thinking a lot about old video games/video games i love, if you were to ask me “hey ruby!!! what games/sequels/trilogies would you like to see remade???” well, here’s which ones i think should get remade: (this’ll be a pretty long post, so you can just click the link down below if ya want to read the whole thing)
Tumblr media
out of any old final fantasy game that should get a remake like the final fantasy 7 remake, if i had to choose one, it would have to be final fantasy 6. that’s just one of my favorite final fantasy games (right up there with final fantasy 7, that is), and like. final fantasy 6 is kind of the perfect bridging gateway game between the fantasy/medieval/middle earth early final fantasy games (from 1-5) to the futuristic/modern/grounded to earth final fantasy games (7, 8, 10, 13 & 15), so like. realistically??? final fantasy 6 is probably one of the only few games i think should get a final fantasy 7 remake-esque remake, and it is one that i think can work in that realistic style compared to something like. final fantasy 9 or final fantasy 4, ngl
super mario rpg, obviously, id love to see that game get a remake. maybe with like, a lot more characters (luigi & wario would work perfectly in there), any content they had to cut out, maybe add more to the game that we didn’t even think of that could work (like, not just story padding, maybe stuff like the koopalings, daisy, wart from mario 2). idk, id just like a super mario rpg remake done in a similar style to the link’s awakening switch remake
despite how important these games are to mario’s history as they are the first original handheld mario platformers, as well as introducing wario, another important mario character, it’s kinda weird how nintendo hasn’t really paid much attention to the super mario land trilogy, or even the wario land series. and while i think a new wario land game will certainly get everybody (myself included) very excited, id also get excited if the original mario land series got an all stars-esque remake. heck, id get excited if all the wario land games got remade too in their own package (like, the mario land trilogy will just have mario land 1, 2 & 3, while the wario land remakes can either start out with mario land 3, or virtual boy wario land, or even wario land 2)
i think the original paper mario trilogy of the 2000s should get their own remake/upscaled ports to the switch as well. stuff like paper mario 64 should obviously get remade from the ground up, while stuff like the thousand year door & super paper mario should get like. upscaled graphics, or even new content (like in the thousand year door, there should be a whole sidequest or extra campaign dedicated to luigi’s own journeys that he goes on at the same time as mario’s, i think thatd b pretty neat & funny)
if any megaman game were to get a remake, i think they should be like. the original zero storyline megaman x games. like, ya know, megaman x1-5. and while ik games like megaman x1-3 already get a lot of love, and megaman x5 doesnt really get as much hatred (i think??? i never finished that game), i think megaman x4 should get a lot more love. not only is it my favorite megaman x game, but like. it has a pretty good storyline, each character gets their own unique story, and like. i just like a lot about megaman x4, i really do, and im sad it commonly gets referred to as the worst megaman x game just because of its voice acting. it gets a lot of flack for its voice acting, and honestly, if the voice acting was just mediocre or average, then i really think a lot more people will appreciate this game. like, in my eyes, if megaman x1-5 got remakes in the cel-shaded rendered style of megaman 11 or dragon ball fighterz, then thatd b cool. id also b down to a new megaman x game too aoisdjfiaos
ok, so, kirby games!!!! ik stuff like kirbys adventure & kirby’s super star got remakes, and while they’re great, id love to see more kirby games get remakes!!! and i got two seperate candidates that’d work. and that first one will be a remake of the “dark matter” trilogy of kirby games. games like kirby’s dream land 2, kirby’s dream land 3, & kirby 64. i think these games are pretty important in the kirby series as not only are these the first instance of the deep lore seen in later kirby games (stuff like return to dream land, planet robobot, and star allies), but like. dream land 2 was the first game to introduce kirbys animal allies, which have become staples for a lot of the kirby games (dream land 3, wow, thats all i could really think of oasidjfio). so like, yea!!! thatd b pretty epic
another kirby “trilogy” id love to see get remade or even get remasters of onto switch would have to be the “return to dream land” games. games like kirby’s return to dream land and even the 3ds games that were built off of that: kirby’s triple deluxe & kirby’s planet robobot. i mean, these games are fairly recent, and stuff like return to dream land isn’t even 10 years old yet. but like, i think if these games got upscaled graphics/models & resolution, as well as a bunch of new/cut content, it can also work
oooooooooooooooooo boy, there are a lot of sonic games id love to see get remade considering i think about sonic alot. stuff like sonic 3 & knuckles getting the sonic 1, 2 & cd treatment (get upgraded ports to ios & android, a bunch of new content from sonic mania, etc), as well as said sonic 1 & 2 mobile ports get released to steam or other consoles. itd be cool to see shadow the hedgehog get an upgraded port to the switch for a low price. maybe even see sonic x-treme get completed. but if theres any sonic game id love to see get a full on, worked from the ground up remake, it’d have to be the sonic dreamcast trilogy. and by that, i mean sonic games that were worked off of the same dreamcast technology/engine. games like sonic adventure 1, 2 & sonic heroes. and like, not just stuff like the gamecube or steam ports. i mean, full on remakes with updated models, updated animations & cutscenes, updated rendering, updated voice acting, updated everything!!! with that, id love to see the chao garden get a full blown overhaul, with more deeper chao breeding, more games to play with your chao, more special, unique chaos & even stuff like chao bonuses to the main campaigns. and even somethign that’d be cooler would be like. either free updates or DLC that would add more campaigns to these games with new characters (like the babylon rogues, the classic characters, silver & blaze, etc), and like. i KNOW thats a lot to work on, but like, i think a lot of people would appreciate that. plus, i consider the sonic adventure games would be a perfect introduction to the sonic series, i think these games could get a lot more people hooked onto the series!!! new & old fans alike!!! but, thats just my thots, and this would be impossible realistically. id still want it 2 happen tho 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
while ik everyone wants that gen iv remake, may i recommend a??? gen v remake??? pokemon black & white are still one of my favorite pokemon games, they were very close to me growing up, and i. just have so much goddamn appreciation and love for this game!!!! i think its one of game freaks more underappreciated games, and ik there a ton of people that can agree with me on that!!! it was just such a different and unique experience, with such a deep story, really good and underappreciated and underloved pokemon designs, and just. i’d love it if we really got a gen 5 remake, especially seeing how much game freak has been putting a lot more gen 5 nostalgia in all of their recent products (from a ton of gen 5 pokemon appearing in detective pikachu, to gen v pokemon getting galarian forms in pokemon sword & shield, and even gen v pokemon appearing in a lot more spin offs lately). like. trust me, pokemon black and white isn’t really as bad as people made it off to be in 2011. it really is a modern masterpiece in video games, i really recommend checking it out and begging game freak to give it a remake about as much as yinz have been begging game freak to remake diamond & pearl
obviously mario 64, sunshine, & galaxy 1 & 2 should get full on remakes. yinz know i wanted one this whole year, and im very disappointed we got these barely upgraded ports to switch instead. thats it on that, i dont need to go into further detail
ummmmmmmmmm, yea, thats kinda it. i cant think of any other games id love to see get remade. ummmmmmmm let me know what u think about this list, and tell me whatever type of other games you’d love to see get remade!!!
thats it ruby out

Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Review
SONIC THE HEDGEHOG: VIDEO GAME BASED MOVIE IS FORMULAIC BUT OFFERS PLENTY OF FAST-PACED FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY AS WELL AS LONGTIME FANS!
By Nico Beland
Movie Review: *** out of 4
Tumblr media
The world’s fastest hedgehog hits the big screen in Sonic the Hedgehog
PARAMOUNT PICTURES AND SEGA
The blue blur (or Blue Devil as the movie calls him) makes his big screen debut in Sonic the Hedgehog, based on the beloved Sega video game franchise of the same name. Believe it or not out of all the video game franchises, my favorite is and always will be Sonic the Hedgehog and have been a proud supporter of the hedgehog since childhood.
Granted, it wasn’t until after Sega became a third-party developer for consoles like PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo when I became a fan of the blue hedgehog, but ever since I got my hands on the Nintendo GameCube port of Sonic Adventure 2 as a kid, my Sonic fandom was pretty much instant. I’ve played many of the video games both old and new, watched all the cartoons, read the comic books published by Archie Comics at the time, and I owned several action figures, plushies, and other Sonic merchandise throughout my childhood…in fact I still have most of those even to this day.
I’ve been clamoring for a Sonic the Hedgehog theatrical movie for years despite video game film adaptations usually being critical and/or box-office poison. But given the popularity of Sonic especially during the 90s when he was rivaling Nintendo’s Mario franchise who already had a theatrical film released in 1993, I’d assume one would have been made back then or at the very least in the early-late 2000s when Sonic Adventure DX: Director’s Cut, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and Sonic Heroes as well as the hit Saturday morning anime series, Sonic X were released, I was so eager for a Sonic movie that a couple of friends and I got together and made movies of our own when we were kids (They sucked BTW!).
After years of waiting and Sonic making a few big screen appearances prior in Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph movies and Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, the beloved hedgehog finally gets a movie of his own which leads us to today. The film is directed by newcomer Jeff Fowler in his directorial debut, produced by Neal H. Moritz (Fast & Furious franchise, XXX, 21/22 Jump Street), and executive produced by Tim Miller (Deadpool, Terminator: Dark Fate) and is a live-action/animated hybrid (Yep, just like Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Smurfs), which had me very worried when it was announced back in 2014 and was even more worried and disgusted when the first trailer came out last year which had an absolutely atrocious design for Sonic, fortunately they fixed it.
So, how does Sonic’s first movie hold up? Honestly, while I can’t call it the Sonic movie I wanted as a child, I had a fun time with it. It isn’t a perfect representation of its source material and the plot is pretty generic, but the charm of the film’s leads, humor, and subtle references to the games that inspired it are enough for me to overlook that flaw.
The film follows Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz-Parks and Recreation, The Other Guys, The Walk), blue anthropomorphic talking hedgehog from another dimension with extraordinary speed who travels to Earth to escape from those who want to capture him and harness his power. However, when he accidentally causes a power outage while hiding out in the town of Green Hills (Get it?), Sonic is targeted by the government and the tyrannical mad scientist, Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey-Ace Ventura 1 and 2, The Mask, The Truman Show) who plots to use Sonic’s power for world domination.
This forces Sonic to team up with Green Hills sheriff, Tom Wachowski (James Marsden-X-Men franchise, Enchanted, Westworld) who agrees to help Sonic on his adventure to find his missing bag of magical rings that have the power to get him home. Of course, while getting into all sorts of trouble along the way.             The film also stars Tika Sumpter (Ride Along 1 and 2, Get On Up, Southside with You) as Tom’s wife Maddie, Adam Pally (Happy Endings, The Mindy Project, Iron Man 3) as Wade Whipple, and Neal McDonough (Star Trek: First Contact, Band of Brothers, Justified) as Major Bennington.
Overall, Sonic the Hedgehog probably isn’t the movie longtime fans wanted, but it still manages to be an entertaining and fun adaptation in its own right. It’s easily one of the best films based on a video game alongside Pokémon: Detective Pikachu and The Angry Birds Movie 2 and shows that we’ve come a long way since the dark days of Uwe Boll’s directing career.
As mentioned before, the plot is nothing special and rehashed from other kids’ movies however what sets this apart from things like The Smurfs or Masters of the Universe is that Sonic and Tom do have a strong chemistry together. It’s amusing to see them interact with each other on their road trip, cracking jokes, getting into trouble, and over the course of the film they learn more about one another thus making you care more for them over ANY Smurf or Chipmunk.
While there are a few jokes that don’t quite stick the landing, the humor for the most part not only made me laugh but there were moments in this movie where I laughed hard. Whether the film was poking fun at the entire Sonicfranchise, a particular running sequence that’s obviously a reference to the Quicksilver scenes from the X-Men movies, or Sonic breaking the fourth wall similar to Deadpool, I was laughing while also admiring how clever some of these jokes are, and let’s not forget Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, but we’ll get to him momentarily.
The redesigned Sonic is a lot better than what we could have gotten, he doesn’t have those ugly small eyes, questionable muscular arms and legs, or the terrifying human teeth anymore. Now, his appearance is more faithful to the source material recreating the hedgehog’s cartoony nature but is different enough to stand out from the rest of the character’s previous designs and be its own unique creation, this is a really good design for Sonic and had the filmmakers went with their original version, this movie would have crashed and burned even harder than Sonic ’06.
Besides Sonic being more appealing to look at now, he’s also just as entertaining to listen to, Ben Schwartz while he’s far from being a replacement for Roger Craig Smith, Ryan Drummond, Jason Griffith, or even Jaleel White, does a solid job providing Sonic’s voice and captures the cocky, arrogant, but good-natured attitude Sonic is known for having. He actually almost sounds like Ryan Drummond’s Sonic voice without sounding like a cheap impersonation.             Moving on to Sonic’s new friend that doesn’t have two tails, James Marsden as Tom, his performance is decent even though he doesn’t quite make as big an impression as Ben Schwartz’ Sonic and especially Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik. With that said, he gets some funny lines once in a while and as mentioned before has good chemistry with Sonic, so yeah, believe it or not James Marsden was partnered up with another CG animated character and this time came out with his dignity unlike his performance in Hop.
Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik owns every scene that he’s in, he’s no Mike Pollock and is a radically different Robotnik than from the games, but Carrey’s energetic and wildly animated personality shines through and gives a million percent whenever the crazy evil genius is on-screen. He’s certainly a lot better than Dennis Hopper as Koopa from the Super Mario Bros. movie.
Hopefully, this movie will be a hit during its theatrical run because I’d love to see a sequel especially if it introduced other Sonic characters like Tails, Knuckles, or even Shadow. Don’t make this like the recent Power Rangers movie, I need my big screen version of those characters!
Whether a fan, newcomer, or just looking for something fun to take the kids to, Sonic the Hedgehog should make everyone happy. It’s not perfect but it has enough action, wit, and charm to make it worth checking out. You’ll be “Up, Over, and Gone” before you know it.

Idea for the new movie franchise- Smash Bros Universe
Ok so hear me out on this before all the hate posts start flooding in, this would all hinder on if the new Detective Pikachu movie is as good as it looks/people are saying and would expand into that same universe.
So the idea would be similar to the formula Marvel used - each hero/series would get their own movie to introduce their characters, so Pokemon has theirs, Link would get his, Mario would get his and so on.
Then an “Evil Villain” would abduct these heroes from different planets/dimensions and force them to fight in a battle royale.
Because none of these guys are in the same world then there would be no need to sprinkle Nintendo Easter eggs into each other’s movie (like Mario wouldn’t need to find a pokeball) and each movie can focus on themselves. Also, since this villain is bringing people in, they don’t need to dedicate a separate movie to each character before hand, we the audience will understand “oh, all these things are from different places and have different powers, they don’t know each other and are being forced to fight” if the movie wants to focus on the select backstory of 1 or 2 characters, cool - but since Smash Bros has so many characters, the fun will be getting to at least see some of them fight - like if there’s a big final fight scene at the end.
It would make since to give a separate movie to the franchises that would either have a lot of characters here, or who’s lead would be a major focus. Like from the Pokémon movie alone we’d have at least 3 Pokémon playing (possibly a joke of the villain saying they picked Jigglypuff b/c it’s just so gosh darn cute).
Also, this Smash Tournament they would be forced to fight in could be from any of the games past. If certain characters where not there, it could be because they were added in a later version.
** there are so many potential story routes this could take. Heroes and villains from their series being forced to team up. - friends being forced to fight each other b/c there can only be 1 winner. - will someone make a sacrific and jump off the platform so a loved one can win and not have to finish them off themself?
— I see such a good story for Luigi that could go 1 of 2 ways. Either A) he has to rise up to ‘player 1’ and be the hero of the day when they need him the most instead of relying on his brother (a more loving story about believing in yourself and the bond between brothers with no hate between him and Mario). Or B) he is manipulated by the bad guys like Wario, Dr. Robotnik, etc, to betray Mario and fight him full strength in a battle instead of using teamwork, b/c he’s tired of always being ‘player 2’ (a redemption story about his jealousy blinding his decision and how he helps his brother in the end)
- also some great potential scenes, like maybe Wario is pitted against a bunch of female characters (who granted most Nintendo female characters don’t look threatening), where he mocks them, the guy is a villain so makes since for him to be this way, he laughs while all the guys who know these ladies duck down....and they unleash devastation. I mean, Zelda & Peach may be princesses, but they will destroy you without wrinkling their dress & before their next court meeting lol.
- just a thought but I think this has some real potential. There really hasn’t been a crossover between games aside from Smash, except for the Olympic Games ..... I could just see something cute at the end like with the credits that the Mario guys meet the Sonic gang, it looks like a big show down, then the credits are just them failing at various sports with like Pikachu there (somehow) ref-ing and commentating. Funny scene = any race against sonic. Figure skating with Bowser being surprisingly graceful and Pikachu quietly doing the play by play “and here he is getting ready for a triple flip, so graceful. I’m gonna be honest people I’m not sure if he’s a dinosaur, a turtle or some firebreathing nightmare I’ve had since I was 4, but right now he is the picture of perfection”. - someone like Wario & Waluigi are the pool and won’t get out “Ok guys, you get out of there right now, or so help me I will drag you out myself. (They laugh). Okay, here I come. Just lil old me. Small bundle of yellow fuzz...comeplely charged with electricity...coming directly to you in the pool filled with water...”

This I’m doing more or less for myself, because I: - Want to keep track of my game library - Want to keep track of which games I’ve yet to finish - Want to keep tabs on my collection. Film ve Dizi Uyarlamaları ile Yakında Karşımıza Çıkacak 17 Video Oyunu
Tumblr media
Oyun kültürü her sektör içerisinde kendine yer bulmaya başladı.
3) Sonic the Hedgehog
Tumblr media
4) The Witcher
Tumblr media
Witcher övmeye başlarsak duramayız. O yüzden hemen konuya girelim. Netflix’te yayınlanacak olan The Witcher dizisinde, Superman olarak tanıdığımız Henry Cavill, Geralt of Rivia karakterine can verecek. Bir dizi kitaptan ve Polonyalı yazar Andrzej Sapkowski’nin kısa öykülerinden esinlenerek hayata geçirilen The Witcher’ın bu yıl içinde Netflix’te yayınlanması bekleniyor.
5) Monster Hunter
Tumblr media
6) Minecraft the Movie
Tumblr media
8) Call of Duty
Tumblr media
9) Tom Clancy’s The Division
Tumblr media
10- Sleeping Dogs
Tumblr media
“Grand Theft Auto” ile Jackie Chan filmi “Rush Hour” karışımı diyebileceğimiz Sleeping Dogs, Hong Kong şehrini bir oyun alanına dönüştürüyor. Sleeping Dogs’ta, “Ip Man” ve “Iron Monkey filmlerinde dövüş sanatçısı olarak gördüğümüz aktör Donnie Yen, gizli polis Wei Shen’e hayat verecek. Filmin çekimleri şu anda devam ediyor, o yüzden yayın tarihine dair herhangi bir bilgi bulunmuyor.
11- Devil May Cry
Tumblr media
Yayın tarihi henüz belli olmayan Uncharted’ın film uyarlamasında Spider-Man: Homecoming’den tanıdığımız Tom Holland başrolde oynayacak.
13- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six
Tumblr media
14- Dynasty Warriors: Destiny of an Emperor
https://youtu.be/-z5PbO2_rAY Çin’in üç krallık dönemini anlatan Dynasty Warriors: Destiny of an Emperor, Çin stüdyosu China 3D Digital Entertainment Limited tarafından hayata geçiriliyor. Dynasty WarriorsS: Destiny of an Emperor’ın 2019 yılında yayınlanması planlanıyor.
15- Halo
Tumblr media
16- Mega Man
Tumblr media
Mega Man’in ne zaman yayınlanacağına dair bir bilgi bulunmuyor.
17- Super Mario Bros.
Tumblr media
Kaynak. Read the full article
