Cas getting punched in 4.22? Lmfaoooooo so the episode where Cas, as Dean's season 4 handler (not his friend—not yet) had Dean trapped in a room against his will and was about to let his brother unleash the apocalypse? Who was keeping Dean locked away for some terrible purpose they still refused to tell him anything about except to obey? Who was enforcing Zachariah's orders? Cas, who this same season, threatened to throw Dean back into hell more than once if he didn't do as he was told? Cas, who manipulated Dean into doing what he wanted in 4.15 specifically because Dean didn't obey him by turning Anna over to him for execution in 4.10? Cas, who beat the shit out of Dean in an alley for being suicidal (I mean if you want to talk about a power imbalance...)

Poor Cas :(((( so mean for Dean to punch him while Cas was literally holding him captive :((((((

This is the supernatural horror fantasy show where the supernatural characters commit atrocities, but some people have convinced themselves that one of them is uniquely abusive and scary and the other two are his poor helpless adult baby victims it's fucking laughable nonsense.

the opening scene in 14.12 is so funny because it's like they've just given up writing a more nuanced relationship for sam and dean and r straight up using normal ass romantic tropes for them like it's some fuckass drama tv show. why are they having a textbook vulnerability in their bedroom at night with the lights off scene. they literally had them set in a motel room after AGES of being in the bunker because they dont share a room in the bunker. this is unironically so fucking insane

I know things got dicey… you know, with Dad… the way he was. And I just… I didn’t always look out for you the way that I should’ve. I mean, I had my own stuff, you know. In order to keep the peace, it probably looked like I took his side quite a bit. Sometimes when I was… when I was away, you know it wasn’t ‘cause I just ran out, right? sam notably refrains from responding to dean (or anyone else he loves) with physical violence right? which makes his reactions in “brother’s keeper” and “prophet and loss” interesting exceptions. MOC!dean’s telling sam that the two of them are Evil as a whole and that the only way to stop themselves from hurting more people is for dean to finally kill sam to neutralize dean as a threat to everyone else. sam’s rebuttals aren’t working and dean is closing in on him so sam throws a punch! s14 dean’s insisting to sam that the only way for them to neutralize the threat of michael is for dean to lock himself into an eternity of suffering with him, sam’s feelings abt this planned self-sacrifice be damned. sam’s rebuttals aren’t working and dean is pulling away from him so sam throws a punch!

MUCH to expand on re: A) the way that physical violence is used in the winchester household(s) and B) sam’s incredibly confused sense of self that hinges almost entirely on dean’s POV by mid-late spn.
