BEST  EXPERIENCE :  point blank all honesty? these last 2-3 months since i came back. genuinely. like ive had a good share of fun and silly moments over the years yes. but. something about the mutuals ive met coming back from a near 2 yr hiatus to this blog has been really heartwarming to me. i havent had remotely as welcoming or fun and silly times connecting with the actual people behind the blog, behind the muse, as i have here. i never had so many wild out of pocket verses or ships, never had affiliates/mains/etc, never had near as much fun plotting or simply gushing over muses and their dynamics in those 10+ yrs being here on and off than i have in this lil texas corner of the horror r.pc. like the last few years have Not Been Kind in my offsite life, and having a massive writers block due to offsite struggles for those years near killed my love for writing as a whole - not just rping but just. writing in general. and while that blocks still not fully gone rn ( staring my 100+ inbox rn in the fucking eyes ) just? the fact that i feel alot more connected to a point with those ive met here this time around has genuinely made me feel alot happier in these few weeks than i have in quite a while. so far this takes the cake by a complete landslide in terms of best experiences ♡ and much of that is very much thanks to those mutuals.

RP  PET  PEEVES  /  DEALBREAKERS :  look. ive been here a long time. ive been part of r.pcs that have had alot of shit stirred in it. im going to be 30 in january lmao and my offsite life has more than enough of its fair fucking share of bullshit. i dont have the mental nor emotional capacity to deal with the kinds of online pettiness or silliness that has cropped up. ive had more of my share in people who are ma.nipulative, ab.usive, etc that i dont really care to engage with in a space that i really try hard to ensure stays as peaceful and as much of a solace to myself as possible. if you're chill and just here to vibe? then we're completely gucci lol. but i dont respond well in the slightest to guilt trips, or passive aggressive attempts at getting interactions or anything. it makes me wildly uncomfortable - seen it too much, deal with similar way too much w people in my offsite life and im honestly so tired and jaded to it all. im here to chill, chat about muses, go to Texas, just. relax and take it easy. got enough shit goin' on offsite as is let me just have fun here :') like literally just. read my rules, dont push me or my boundaries, let us just have a good time and chill leave the petty shit at the door im begging.

Hiya, I’m Ina, 31 and brand new to 1x1, indie, non-group roleplaying. I’m a multi para/literate writer/roleplayer (around 200+ words), focused primarily on character/dynamic development then plot. I’m in the GMT+2 timezone and would prefer if potential partners are also in that timezone or close to it but it’s not a priority. I tend to be a rapid-reply/rapid-thread roleplayer where we write back to back, which is why I mentioned that. I'm also quite active and am looking for other active partners. I won't pair up with people who can only log on every two days or only twice a week, sorry! I'm on every Monday-Thursday mornings into afternoon as well as Friday mornings and early afternoons. Not available on weekends though.

I’m looking for long-term rp partners who are interested in original characters and original plots. I’m not the biggest fandom roleplayer, though I wouldn’t mind doing some writing around fandoms. I have too many to list, but Supernatural (series), Sleepy Hollow (series), Once Upon a Time, Manifest (series), etc are all some I like. Feel free to ask if I’m interested in something not listed. Other than that, when it comes to original plots, I’m into supernatural/paranormal stuff (selective with this though), magical surrealism, slice-of-life with tons of angst and drama, darker mystery/town stuff, some history depending on time period. What I’d have to give a hard no to would be vampires and werewolves, as well as zombies - it’s just not my thing to be honest. Also anything crime-related - unless it’s something like supernatural with crime sort of mixed into it? Like investigating a supernatural mystery or something. Otherwise, anything having to do with cartels, gangs, motorcycle clubs etc., I’ll have to pass on. Also, I lean more towards non-canon.

Just some FYI I guess...

I’m selective and I prefer private 1x1 rp only and by private, I mean I’ll make a tumblr page completely dedicated to that sole character where I’ll be posting my replies/threads, etc. which leads me to say, I don’t roleplay on mumu blogs, discord or any other service, I’m strictly tumblr dash/sideblog for my muse[s]. I really like having a sole place for my musings for that character, as well as self-paras etc. and I really enjoy using faceclaims/gifs. :)

In regards to maturity, I’m totally comfortable with substance abuse, alcohol, violence, smut and so on. Just a word on smut though, I’ll only write it once a connection between our characters has been established and once we’ve done several threads. There needs to be an emotional connection there. It’s not my number one priority but I will need a partner[s] who’s comfortable with smut because there’s just no avoiding that with me and my muses, oops. But yeah, plot before smut I guess. 

Some dynamics I really love are any kind of angsty romantic stuff, strained family/friend plots, frenemies forced to work together, two strangers with a random thing in common that they can rely on each other to talk about/relate to. Honestly there’s so many, feel free to check out my 1x1 info or plots tag on my personal to see what I'm into. I just love depth, richness, layers, drama, angst, tension, all of that good stuff.

Some random info before I finally close this up! I only play older faceclaims, anywhere from around 28 yrs. and up, I typically write males who are in their mid 30s to early 40s. I only write M/F though I’ve dabbled in some F/F and won’t mind that either, so yes, I do play females as well and I love to play them but I often lean towards writing males. Nothing more than that though. I can get really enthused and all in with characters and plots etc. (playlists, videos, manips, pinterest boards, etc) so I’d love it if potential partners were the same. I really dislike it when I become super invested and partners are sort of just ‘meh’. Anyway, other than that, I don’t think I have anything else to add. I have more info with plots I’d love to explore, faceclaim lists that I’ll play or play against, etc. on my personal tumblr @nckken

@orangedarcy: Can I ask just a general question about fic posting in the VC fandom?  I know most fic is now posted on AO3, but is there another more community driven place like LiveJournal used to be? I have fallen so far behind on the fic world, where does one post stories these days? Is it all here on Tumblr or is it mainly AO3 now?

Very good question. AO3 is the main place for just fic, some comment threads there, and ppl sometimes posted drabbles here on tumblr, and there are roleplayers here who do threads that are like collaborative fics… you can check my #RP tag to try to find them, but I admit I am out of date myself having taken a big step back from tumblr to focus on real life. 

There were LJ-esque places on Dreamwidth long before Tumblr, and I believe they’re all abandoned except for VC-Media where I’m a mod. You can find it through @vcmedia, ppl do post fic there, mods post drabble prompts weekly, and there have been some wonderfully lively times!

I had started the VC-Media tumblr blog a few yrs ago when we (the mods) wanted to try directing some traffic to the DW comm, to bring in some fresh blood (pun intended), but I hadn’t promoted it much bc I didn’t want the tumblr anti-shippers and/or trolls flooding it and trampling ppl. At that time, I had seen the antis in other fandoms choosing targets to bully on tumblr and twitter, using social justice window-dressing that was really only about them wanting attention. In our fandom, I’d seen similar bad-faith arguments over problematic characters/ships and I didn’t want to engage with it or invite it to a comm setting, bc that’s not what fandom is about for me.

Not to go on a rant here but I need to say it: Criticism is going to happen, and everyone has a right to criticize media. What was lost for a few years there is the concept that no one owes you their time or engagement in a conversation, especially not one in which one side demands complete submission from the other, and nothing less. Whether or not the criticism is the “One True Interpretation,” no one owes you their time or engagement. 

That’s still a concern of mine, but I am confident that my wonderful co-mods of VC-Media are ready to freeze comments and ban ppl who attempt to bully others or provoke arguments in bad faith.

There are a few other obscure places, but I don’t like to promote them publicly, bc they have little traffic, or are older, or I’d rather that AR not be aware just in case she changes her stance on fanfic (she had waged war on it in the 90s).

So that was a long answer but AO3 is probably the best if all you want is just finding fic to read, but please check out VC-Media to post your fic and have a lively discussion, it’s still thirsty for fresh blood!
