my shikanaru fics: a masterlist

listen, shikanaru was, is and will probably always be my otp so i’m just gonna start the long and tedious task of documenting my fic links for this ship. (fml but i NEED to wrangle everything into some form of organised chaos so bear with me). i’ve apparently written seventeen stories with them, which is both a smaller number than i’d thought and yet genuinely a baffling amount. note that while this ship features abundantly in my work, the primary focus of the story is not always on the development of their relationship.

i will mark my personal favourites with a “🖤” because yes, i do not love all my babies equally. i discriminate. some are just more dear to me, okay?

note: shikanaru is the default main/primary ship in these stories. the other ships mentioned are automatically the side-ships or the shared-spotlight pairings.

🖤 2. swiggles: a quintessential sealmaster naruto fic where i’ve quite frankly gone a bit wild with the lore and the plentiful doodles. naruto makes friends, makes seals, makes some more friends. shikamaru is basically his best friend, along with sakura. obito returns to the village in this au but only after naruto’s already in the academy. speaking of, this fic, as of the last chapter, has only just reached graduation so it’s heavy on the pre-canon storyline. personally, developing the friend group in this, as well as the sweet, almost childish yet meaningful bond between shikanaru was very enjoyable for me | 83k words | incomplete, on hiatus | 19/? | eventual fuuinjutsu master!naruto, slow burn, fluff + humor, sakuino | rated T |

3. feelings? what are those?: just a short, silly oneshot about my favourite throuple, shikasasunaru. wrote this as a giftfic while twist in time was still a wip. it’s about naruto forcing shikamaru and sasuke to not be emotionally opaque peanuts | 4.7k words | non-oblivious!naruto, idiots in love | rated M |

4. the words tattooed on my soul: this is a fanpoetry fic. one poem from shikamaru’s pov who apparently writes plenty of these and stores them in a shoebox which he, ofcourse, hides under his bed | 172 words | poet!shikamaru | rated T |

5. the dance of destiny: platonic soulmates sasunaru and best friends shikasaku. sakura and shika leave the village to train with tsunade and years later, return so that sakura can become the hokage—she’s a champion of the civilians, basically. meanwhile, naruto has thoughts and feelings about this, given his own dream of taking the kage mantle. these four meet and their destinies (hah!) intermingle, much like an off-tempo waltz on the dancefloor (hah! again). shikamaru apparently has an asshole dad—shikaku—in this because that was what the muse wanted | 7.4k words | 2/? | incomplete | bamf!everyone | sasusaku | rated M |

🖤 6. colors of you: a lighthearted oneshot about shikamaru discovering that the village vandal painting konoha in all sorts of ridiculous murals is, infact, naruto and joining him on one of his escapades. this was written for a prompt challenge hosted on r/fanfiction actually. had a fun time writing this story. i really like how their dynamic turned out | ~4k words | pov shikamaru | rated M |

7. all in good time: another time travel fic about a burnt-out twenty-year old naruto finding himself back as an academy student after becoming estranged with konoha 12 in the og timeline following a failed jounin exam in which he ended up being the cause for shikamaru getting injured and scarred. this one’s more angsty, with a gentler naruto who’s a little sick of his life as a chunin. i really want to write and complete this story one day, because the storyboarding for the plot is a bit different than my usual fare | 13k words | 3/? | incomplete | alternate universe + time travel, slow burn | rated M |

🖤 8. the stories we never shared: a fic wherein naruto leaves konoha the night before graduation and years later, tsunade assembles a mission squad of seven to go after him, to protect him and offer him refuge, as a response to their knowledge about akatsuki and their plans to target jinchiruukis. this is also a shikasasunaru poly fic. it’s much slower and extremely interpersonal. i’m trying to develop and juggle different relationships and friendships with due regard. this fic also possibly has one of my favourite versions of naruto i’ve ever written. shikamaru is the mission leader and he shares a mutually contentious relationship with sasuke | 27k words | 4/? | incomplete | bamf!naruto, threeway povs, slowburn | rated M |

🖤 9. being known: a 5+1 fic about naruto and shikamaru sharing various conversations as they grow up and how their friendships ends up becoming something much much more. i’ve probably re-read this work the most because this is how i imagine shikanaru at their most grounded. they’re alike in so many ways beyond the superficial differences and it’s always a fun task to coax those commonalties out. it’s also non-linear | 18k words | 6/6 | complete | getting together, pov!shikamaru, pov!naruto.

10. blood of the covenant; water of the womb: my take on the arranged marriage trope. shikamaru is heir of the nara clan that resides in suna. shikaku is kazekage. naruto is heir of the uzumaki clan which is the closest thing to royalty in the shinobi world. to stop the prolonged conflict between konoha and suna, their marriage is proposed as a means for amicable ceasefire | 4k words | 1/? | incomplete | bamf!shikanaru, enemies to friends to lovers, politics | rated M |

🖤 11. naruto’s very eminent, very influential babysitters: naruto is raised communally amongst all the clans of konoha, on shikaku’s suggestion. mostly a humorous and fluffy fic and has the least amount of shikanaru, tbh. since they are, you know, babies. as of the last chapter, though, shikamaru has begun to have certain sorts of awakening. naruto is an absolute gremlin child here, chaos-maker extraordinaire. features interpersonal clan lore and many many side characters | 25k words | 5/7 | incomplete | fluff + humor, pre-canon, crack treated seriously | rated T |

12. the triad hypothesis: yet another poly shikasasunaru fic. they’re rogue ninjas together, trying to bind together resources and manpower to oppose danzo who has taken over konoha as hokage | 3k words | 1/? | incomplete | bamf!shikasasunaru, pov multiple, rebellion, politics | rated M |

🖤 13. twelfth guardian: naruto is sent to the daimyo’s mansion for his “safety”. shikamaru arrives there after becoming jounin, as one of the twelve ninja guardians. plot ensues in the background (conspiracy against the hokage, betrayals, etc.) while they fall in love after getting to know each other. this is my recent darling fic. i’ve drawn some art for it which is not just shitty doodling, i swear. i just have to sit and complete the third part so i can mark it as finished. it’s one fic where i’ve dug deep into shikamaru’s psyche and really enjoyed it | 20k words | 2/3 | incomplete | bamf!naruto, bamf!shika, multiple ocs, pov shikamaru | rated M |

16. anbu’s infamous throuple: as the name suggests, this is, obviously, another shikasasunaru poly fic in which they’re all anbu members. it is an epistolary fic and also sort of crackish. sasuke and shikamaru are friends but naruto has a hate-your-guts mutually antagonistic dynamic with sasuke while he gets along quite well with shikamaru. naruto is a squad captain, sasuke is his liaison officer which is totally a real position and not something i created for plot purposes. shikamaru is a communications specialist | 1.8k words | 1/5 | incomplete | bamf!everyone, anbu!shikasasunaru, epistolary fic | rated M |

Please enjoy some boys being very silly in a nebulous Young Justice timeline, to the prompt of "I'm dying." "You're not dying."

“I’m dying,” Kon proclaims, draping himself dramatically over the back of the couch in their headquarters, his wrist pressed to his forehead like a caricature of a Victorian maiden swooning on a fainting couch.

“You’re not dying,” Tim snaps, rolling his eyes. He’s trying to fill out reports, because that had been part of the Justice League’s terms for letting them continue to operate — paperwork. He and Cassie had rock-paper-scissored about which of them had to do said paperwork, and after losing and taking one look at the Batman-formatted report papers, she’d declared that she was making him Young Justice’s secretary, and declared it his responsibility.

“You don’t know,” Kon complains, pushing off from the ground so he rolls all the way over the back of the couch. He manages to twist while he falls so that he lands on his stomach with his arms folded around one of the throw pillows Cissie had brought in because they “brightened up the place.” “I totally could be.”

“You can’t actually die of boredom,” Tim scolds.

“I’m sure there’s gotta be a rogue somewhere who can do that,” Kon says, which is… almost certainly true and Tim kinda hates that. “For all you know, I got whammied by it, and now unless you entertain me, I’m gonna die of the stupidest bullshit ever.”

“I am the wrong Robin if you want entertainment,” Tim says. “Dick was the one who was a literal circus performer.”

“Yeah, because I’m just gonna pop over to Titans tower and ask Nightwing to do backflips for my entertainment,” Kon scoffs.

“Well, I’m not gonna do backflips for your entertainment,” Tim replies, signs the bottom of the report, and flips it into the finished stack. As he reaches for the next one, Kon scrambles down to the end of the couch closest to Tim’s table.

“Can you actually do a backflip?” he asks.

Tim sighs. “Yeah.”

“Woooow,” Kon says, dragging the syllable out. Tim makes the mistake of glancing his way and discovers Kon watching him with a challenge brightening his face. “That would be super hot, if I believed you.”

“See, I know you’re just trying to goad me, so that’s not gonna work,” Tim says, and focuses on his paperwork. The looming, omnipresent threat of Bruce’s disapproval if he doesn’t get them filled out correctly and in a timely manner is good enough incentive to keep him from being distracted by Kon’s… everything.

“Sure, okay,” Kon says, and flips over onto his back with his hands folded behind his head. Tim makes a further mistake when he looks again and gets a good eyeful of the way Kon’s biceps are straining the leather of his jacket these days.

In a kinder world, growing up surrounded by superheroes had rendered him immune to distraction by traditional superhero physique. Unfortunately, no one’s ever accused their corner of the multiverse of being a kinder world.

Well. Except Earth-3 people, but that’s a special case.

“I’ll just sit here, content in the knowledge you lied about something stupid so that you could sound cool,” Kon says.

It shouldn’t actually get to him, but it does, and Tim kind of hates himself for that a little.

Grumbling the whole time so Kon knows exactly how much of a pain in the ass he’s being, Tim stands up, checks his clearances, and does a backflip, exactly like Dick taught him.

To his surprise, Kon doesn’t verbally respond. When Tim looks over to see what’s wrong with him, or what’s distracted him, he finds Kon just… staring at him. Blinking widely. Face slightly pink.

It makes Tim blush in response as well, without meaning to, and he kind of hates that too.

“See, I was just fucking with you—”

“Yeah, I noticed, actually.”

“—but that was actually super hot.”

Tim’s blush goes from faint to on-the-verge-of-combustion, and he takes his seat back at the table to keep doing his reports, vividly aware that Kon is now staring at him from the couch with an expression on his face that’s not wholly dissimilar to one of Damian’s cats when it’s getting ready to pounce.

“Tim,” Kon says, and Tim swears to god there’s a hint of a purr in the back of his throat.

Kryptonians and Cats. There’s probably a whole research paper in there Tim could cook up if he wanted to.

“I’m trying to keep the Justice League from shutting us down,” Tim protests. “I’m not doing another backflip for you.”

Kon huffs and launches himself into the air only to hover over Tim’s head, looking down at him and looming ominously. Tim doesn’t flinch when Kon leans down to grab his face in both hands, but it’s only Batman training that saves him. Batman training, and rapidly growing annoyance when Kon squishes his cheeks together and lowers down until Kon’s upside down face is directly in front of his.

“Tim,” Kon repeats. “You’re hot.”

“Thanks,” Tim says, voice coming out weirdly squashed thanks to Kon’s compression of his face. “So are you.”

Kon beams at him and brushes the tip of his nose against Tim’s, and then drops down another few inches so he can kiss him.

It’s not their first kiss, or even their first outside of sleepover night truth or dare and spin-the-bottle games, but this whole thing developing between them is still new enough that it might be within the counting-on-his-fingers range.

Kon nibbles lightly on his bottom lip and then faster than Tim can blink, he’s flipping around in mid-air only to land in Tim’s lap, hands still squishing Tim’s cheeks together.

“And I think, you should kiss me some more before I die of boredom and you have to find a new heavy hitter for your team,” Kon says. “Think about it. Do you want to get this paperwork submitted just on time rather than obnoxiously early, or do you want to have to figure out how to fill out paperwork for ‘I accidentally let Kon-El languish away to nothing out of boredom because I wouldn’t kiss him’ paperwork?”

“I think I’d make up a different cause of death for the paperwork,” Tim replies, waits until Kon’s scrunched up his nose and his whole face in disappointment, and only then does he give up on paperwork for the time being, and kiss him.

John opened his locker and reached for his French workbook. His hand stopped moving halfway there. A french daisy lay on top of his books. A note was wrapped around it...

"What the...?" John mumbled, staring at the daisy in his hand.

"John!" Mike crashed into him from behind. "Why do you look like you just saw a ghost?"

"I... uh I think someone left a daisy in my locker," John held it out to him, but kept the note.

"Oh my gosh, is it a secret admirer?!"

"What! No!" John waved that idea off.

Three days later John just finished his rugby training when he came back to his locker. He opened it and rose petals flew over him. A note was amonst them.

"Roses are red,

violets are blue.

I might be mad,

but I like you.

John grunted and kicked his backpack softly. Whoever thought it was romantic to put roses in his locker forgot about the mess they made along with it. He cleaned it up, but sone small part inside him queried who "SH" was...

The next time there was an actual flower bouquet in it. Tulips. John had to smile, he loved tulips. He caught himself looking for a note. There, behind his English workbook, he found it.

"I dream of tulips,

yellow, blue, the leaves are green.

I dream of my lips on your lips,

John laughed. The poems really weren't that great... however he couldn't help but wonder, who the secret admirer was. SH... Sabrina Hollen from his English class? Susanne Heeling from biology? Sabrina constantly joked around with him and Susanne seemed to stare at him but whenever he tried to look her in the eyes... she looked away, cheeks pink.

Or could it be... No, no way the serious chemistry nerd would hide flowers in... but what if? Doesn't matter. It's not him... and besides, John wasn't gay.

John hadn't noticed he had crumbled up the note in his hand. When he flattened it again, he saw a PS on the backside.

"Meet me tomorrow. 3pm at Speedy's."

"Just don't get killed," Mike said over the phone.

"I'll be fine," John allayed. "Okay. I'm here. I'll text you."

"Alright. Enjoy. No murders!"

John rolled his eyes, "I'll do my best to not get murdered."

"That's my man. Don't forget to text!"

"Yes, yes. Bye now!" John hung up.

He was here. At Speedy's. Going to meet his secret admirer (not his murderer, he hoped).

He sat down on a desk in the back, but he could overlook everything and he was close to an emergency exit - just in case. By now it was 2:57 and John was getting nervous. Would his admirer actually have the guts to show up?

The time passed and at 3:04 he slowly started doubting his decision to come here. He wasn't sure what - or better, who - he was expecting even.

'My lips on your lips, no inbetween,' an inner voice whispered.

Just in that moment the door opened and the chimes above it jingled. A shadow stood in the frame... and then it moved towards him, with a confidence, John admired.

When the shadow turned into a human with a face... John gasped...

"Sher- Sherlock?"

"Hello, John," the tall boy stood in front of the small table, where John had sat down.

"I don't- are you... did you put all the flowers into my locker?" John suddenly felt extremely nervous upon seeing Sherlock Holmes. He knew him from chemistry class, they did a few experiments together and had a great time. John had loved how the serious boy's face lit up when he tried out something new and it worked.

Sherlock twisted his face as if in pain. "It was Irene's idea. She was sick of me whining at her about how I wanted... want to know you better."

That made John relax, he asked, "Want to know me better as in," a huge grin spread on his face, "'my lips on your lips, roses are red, tulips are green, no inbetween' way or a... platonic way?"

Sherlock - still standing - just stared at him. He looked slightly in shock. "I never wrote that."

"Eh, close enough," John leaned back, waving dismissively with his hand.

"You clearly have no idea about poetry, John."

"Well you better be glad, otherwise I wouldn't be here on this date with you," John smirked.

The stiff expression on Sherlock's face melted and turned into a smile. He plummeted onto the chair opposite of John and sighed, "Alright, fair enough." Then he blushed. "Date," he pointed out.

John laughed. "You wooed me with flowers and poems, what did you expect?"

Sherlock smiled, his cheeks turning even redder when he laid a hand over John's. "I wasn't sure it was gonna work. Thanks for coming."

I have a few head cannons for these two that I wanna throw out there; Writing these two for like 10 years has made me realized that no matter what situation they are in (if writing in character) they are the idealistic couple. Sure, they argue and fumble the bag sometimes, but their dynamic is FIERCE. You cannot tell me that his most trusted friend, partner, and balanced scale IS NOT IDEAL? These are my head cannons that I base my stories on while writing them in character (which took a long time to do honestly, writing in character with characters who are not fully developed is hard as fuck. But you take whatever crumbs you get.)

Plus, I would’ve changed a bunch of things in this anime but that’s besides the point

Follow me on my delulu because it’s the only solulu:

1. Neji started liking Tenten prior to the second round fights of the chunnin exams. It started as admiring her skills, but grew to an emotional level as time went on. He asked her specifically to train with him because he felt that she was able to keep up and offer him a challenge in a realm he was not skilled in; weapon handling and evasion. This is going off of the fact that in one of the video games, Tenten had beat both Neji and Lee in evasion training, which in my mind, means that Neji saw Tenten for her skills and held her in very high regard even if she got clapped by Temari (which he didn’t fault her for! It was a bad match up). While they trained, Tenten would push conversation with him to the point where they started talking about their personal lives and led to Tenten finding out about the curse mark, his father, and his blind spot. Tenten had shared her deep insecurities about never being able to match up to them, or to be good enough to be like Lady Tsunade (especially after she fumbled the medical ninja training). To that, Neji ensured her that she was a great match up to himself and Lee; which is why he asked her to help train him in the first place. Since then, Neji has made it his priority to ensure that Tenten did not fall into a deep depression and would always praise her with the “you are good enough as you are.” He would shower her with subtle affection by buying her sweets when she was in a bad mood and spending some of his days off with her. In fact, it wasn’t until Gai-sensei had pointed out that Neji was attached to her, and was doting on her to make sure she kept a smile on her face. Neji would roll his eyes (as most 13-14 whatever’s they were) but kept at it well into their late teens.

2. Tenten is oblivious as fuck to Neji’s affection. I used this a lot in my Sleepless Nights fic, and sprinkled it in for some oneshots as well as hinted at it in Frequency. Tenten is an over thinker and can get inside her own head very easily. She thinks Neji is just being a good friend; arguably, she considers him a best friend since they are with each other all the time. She’s been so focused on her work that she never even considered the possibility that Neji liked her in anything past a friend. To be fair, Neji doesn’t seem like the type to make it obvious when he likes someone. And we’re about to get into that…

3. Neji is awkward as hell when it comes to anything emotion related but his love languages are Acts of Service and Gift Giving. Neji is alright with quality time, but he is a protector before anything else. I see Neji more as a “how can I help?” Or “Let me know if you need me.” He probably also gets snapped at by Tenten when he instinctively helps her and does things for her without asking if she needs help. She very much “I can do it myself” type of girl. Like I said before, he dotes on Tenten by buying her sweets and things she likes, I wouldn’t be surprised if he followed her around different weapons shops while they were on missions and helping her add to her enormous weapons collection. We also saw the acts of service come out of him when he shadowed Hinata (which was really sweet honestly. It showed his softer side and he maybe felt a bit guilty for treating her like garbage after his father died and was trying to make it up to her).

4. Tenten started realizing her feelings when they retook the chunnin exams. C’mon we all saw the look on home girl’s face when Fuu grabbed Neji’s hand and asked him to be her friend. It screamed LET GO OF MY MAN. Tenten hasn’t seen or experienced Neji interacting with other girls besides herself and Hinata (excluding Sakura and Ino who they were all friends with, but only interacted with on occasion). She didn’t like the idea of Neji getting attention from other girls.

5. Both are the jealous type. I know, I didn’t think Neji would be either, but it makes sense to me; Why would she be with anyone else other than him? Was he not her best friend? Who they shared all their deep dark feelings and secrets with? How dare someone else look at her partner in such a way? How dare they talk to her like that in front of him! For Tenten I don’t see it running extremely deep, but maybe a touch of it like stated above.

6. Lee was in on it. He absolutely knew. There’s no way Lee is so oblivious to his rival’s feelings. Especially since Gai has VERY loose lips. I wouldn’t be surprised it Lee was there when Gai had pointed out Neji’s affections for Tenten when they were gennin. Lee wanted them to be together and wanted to see them happy; Neji found comfort in knowing Tenten was alright. Tenten found comfort in Neji by trusting him with her feelings and not being harshly judged for it. I can see Lee purposefully hanging back and watching the two of them spar.

7. Neji only genuinely smiles around Tenten. Sure, he would offer a small smile of a smirk most of the time. But, around her he can actually pull his guard down and feel happy. He does offer small smiles and half smiles around Hinata and Naruto, however those big cheesing moments are usually kept in the presence of his bunheadded teammate.

8. Neji struggles to keep his feelings towards Tenten in check. He feels as though he doesn’t want to ruin their deeply rooted friendship and tends to keep a straight face when they are with a group. Tenten-again being oblivious- thinks he is just being an egotistical jerk around everyone when he’s not really like that when they are alone. He keeps some physical distance towards her as well unless they are fighting together, to prevent any mistakes and obvious signs of his affections. Perhaps he’s not into PDA either.

9. They argue. A lot. But it never ends in them feeling unheard or disrespected; these two have strong personalities and are very opinionated anyway.

10. Neji confided in Hinata about his feelings on Tenten, and Hinata promised to keep it a secret. (more on that in part 2 of my headcannons)

11. Neji tries to encourage Tenten to use her Taijutsu skills for close combat more. There’s a post circulating right now about how Tenten’s close combat abilities surpassed everyone but her team’s. I wouldn’t be surprised if Tenten felt discouraged by the fact that both boys on her team were already close range fighters and struggled with her gifts of long range fighting; she overthinks and puts herself into a box. Neji probably has attempted to strictly train with her (think Shippuuden…17-18 years old?) on her taijustu so she could gain some confidence. In fact, he has brought up to her that she would have beat Temari years ago if she would’ve show cases her taijustu abilities.

12. Their fighting style is more like a dance in flow. Tenten is very flexible and since her and Neji have been training since they were gennin, it would only make sense that they are so insynch with each other it almost look graceful.

I have more but imma stop there lol. I have ideas on how they first kissed, slept with each other all that stuff; how he would’ve proposed; It’ll be a very long post especially if I get into the whole “if Neji survived the war” which I do have a fanfiction on right now 👀 look at my pinned post for the link.

i have a growing aversion to cold drinks lol it's starting to feel odd drinking something that isn't hot... that's not that weird though, i think i'm just becoming a grandma LOL

photoshop!! i like making gifs and edits and such :) i've also been writing a lot more recently which is crazy, i haven't felt this inspired or productive in forever :'D thank you DA lol 🩷

i am also v much a webtoon enjoyer (my all-time fave is "trash belongs in the trash can!" but i'm currently v invested in "nevermore," "i'm the queen in this life," "sisters at war," and "momfluencer"!), but i'll read manga (tatsuki fujimoto my GOAT) and comics (invincible also my GOAT)

6. if you work, what's your profession?

i write internal software documentation which means it's architectural, high-level design stuff... not so much code-specific, but the reasoning behind why software components are organized the way they are. it's not very fun, mostly mind-melting... i work closely w engineers and it's kind of a toss-up whether they'll be nice/patient or think i'm stupid lol

but my brain now contains so many company secrets :^) if you ever have any questions about data storage/virtualization i can possibly help lol

7. if you could have any job you wish, what would you have?

funny story—i applied for grad school, and i've been accepted to an english m.a. program that starts this fall!!! 🥹 we'll see where i go w that, but i'll likely enter education!

8. something you're good at?

uhh i suppose BG3 LOL i beat honor mode twice! 🎉 (i'm still trying to figure out how DA works 🤔 DA2 hard mode is chill idk if i'd ever do nightmare tho 😬)

ok it's not rly a "hate" thing but it does irk me when i see fandom claims/arguments that don't cite specific quotes/screenshots/instances lol (the english major in me activates and i am consumed by the thought "🚨‼️ where do you see this in the text 👁️👁️🫵" LOL)

the grief 😂🖐️ it creeps up on me! almost cried in my cubicle multiple times this week. haha.

receiving is probably words of affirmation? giving is probably gifts, i like making silly things for my bestie (eg. fenris keychain lol) and finding weird stickers for my brother 🤡

oh man, i was so bad at science, especially biology/chemistry... i could scrape by in physics bc i was decent at math, but it was still awful...

16. what's your best/worst character trait?

worst...??? according to my last annual review, i need to be more confident in the workplace LOL 💀 + sometimes i let my anxiety get the better of me... i think that's just a lifelong struggle thing though, but i know i can improve to be a better friend and such 💪

best... multiple reviews from mom-aged women say that i am a "nice" and "sweet" person so hopefully at least that means i can leave a good first impression haha

17. if you could change any detail of your life right now, what would it be?

i'm not a huge fan of what-if-ing personally, but i do wish i were on vacation 😆

18. if you could travel in time, who would you like to meet?

i'm currently very curious about my paternal grandparents... it's hard for me to conceptualize why they got married... and how my dad grew up... i guess i would want to witness some of that??

Do they enjoy dancing?

Dancing is an unspoken language between them, a rare moment where they can exist solely in the rhythm of their connection. Bianca loves to dance, especially when it allows her to tease and challenge Sephiroth, drawing him into the sensuality of movement.

Sephiroth, ever the controlled and composed warrior, does not seek out dancing, but when Bianca entices him into it—whether through provocation or sheer insistence (because our queen is very stubborn at times)—he moves with a lethal, calculated grace. Their dances are never just for show. They are battles of will, displays of dominance, and moments of unguarded intimacy where their souls align in perfect sync.

Do they ever trade clothes?

Bianca and Sephiroth don’t frequently trade clothes, but there are moments when she drapes herself in his coat or wears one of his shirts after particularly intimate nights. His scent lingering on the fabric is comforting to her, a reminder of his presence even when he isn’t near.

Sephiroth, on the other hand, has little interest in wearing her clothing, though he finds amusement in the idea of her offering something of hers as a claim over him. If she were to insist, he might indulge her briefly. Sometimes, he'll allow her to tie her ribbon around his wrist or arms, but only in private moments where he is feeling particularly indulgent with her.

Do they ever go swimming together?

While neither of them seek out swimming for leisure, there have been rare moments when they find themselves in the water together. If circumstances demand it, Bianca takes it as an opportunity to press close to him, reveling in the contrast of their wet bodies against each other. It doesn't matter if is crossing a river or being caught in the rain

Sephiroth, ever composed, tolerates the experience but finds enjoyment in watching Bianca move effortlessly through the water. He likes watching the water amplify her beauty as it clings to her. If she coaxes him into something more playful, he might allow it, but only for her amusement.

Since I don't think I'll get to sit down to draw any more time-consuming pieces over the next two weeks, I thought about taking a look at how "well" my art has been doing this year.

I know, I know, I KNOW. Art shouldn't be measured by how "successful" it is. I shouldn't judge my progress by "the number of likes" or anything along those lines, but... Being an artist on tumblr has really left an impact on my self-esteem, especially because a lot of things, projects, challenges, doodles I've been invested in didn't cause much resonance at all. Which, considering how I'm mostly residing in a low-key fandom, shipping mainly ships that aren't exactly mainstream, makes perfect sense. So yes, one could say that I am a somewhat self-indulgent creator that, yes, mainly creates stuff for herself - and the 2-3 people who really enjoy my niche interests and are silent lurkers/rebloggers or scream into the tags void (you know who you are and I am incredibly thankful for you)!

But still, I couldn't help but wonder which were my most liked/reblogged art pieces of 2024 - including all posts of mine that got at least 100 notes. And it really turns out that there's been a pattern there: First of all, I am truly honoured, because the majority of these depict characters (and even series) I do NOT draw on a regular basis. So the fact that they still got so much attention makes me incredibly happy. Second of all, the majority of these are pieces that took several days, some even weeks to finish. Which, once again, gets me quite giddy, because it means that all the hard work paid off!

Last but not least - it gives an insight on how tumblr's fanbases work and that is just incredibly interesting to me. Characters/ships from "The Amazing Digital Circus" are pretty popular these days, especially because a new episode has been released just recently. When it comes to Digimon, it's not a loud fandom, there isn't exactly a lot of unity, but there certain niches for characters and ships alike that are unbelievably dedicated. Whether you take Takari - and Takeru and Hikari on their own -, Jyou or Yamato... You WILL find followers/enjoyers of those around once you look closely. I'm still relieved that one of my "main blorbos" and my "OTP" still made it into the top 10 - it still validates my personal dedication to keep these dorks alive and around, no matter what happens.

Since it’s almost the end of this year I wanted to post all of my unposted tms art I did this year. (it’s mostly Jon bc he’s my comfort character lol) The reason why some of these weren’t publicly posted was either because I had completely forgotten about them or bc my self esteem issues won :/

Picture #1: This was originally made at the end of June and was originally supposed to be posted before pride month ended, but it never did. It was supposed to be a follow up to my previous tms pride drawing bc Jonathon was confirmed to be graysexual.

The context behind this is that Darcy decided to try making homemade pumpkin spice syrup. Both Leon and Mark tasted the syrup with something (it could either be on pancakes, a pastry, etc) …and you could obviously tell what happened next lol
