I've seen people act like Regina Ace Attorney is insane for reacting to a death by saying "I'm not sad, because now he's become a star in the sky!"

Which, yeah, is kinda weird. But if she had said "I'm not sad because I know he's in heaven", that's effectively the same idea but I don't think anyone would think it was CRAZY yanno? Like even as an atheist I can say, sure, a lot of people feel that way so if that's how she's dealing with it then that's probably healthier than a lot of other ways.

I wonder how much of it is the circus setting/aesthetics priming people to look at this as something weird. Maybe Regina the accountant wouldn't get the same reaction, I dunno.

I don't say it all that overturn, but that was fucking bullshit.

Thankfully, we had an early game, and I napped plenty in the afternoon and was feeling good. We started strong but didn't score on a couple of good chances, and then the guys seemed to sort of stop trying for a while. I had to make a good number of good saves in the first period to keep it scoreless. Then our sub defenseman fell down by himself and got hurt, so we were playing short on defense the rest of the game. I had to make some more solid saves to keep it scoreless through the end of the first period.

In the second, it was more of the same with them having better shots and opportunities, but I was stopping everything until they managed to put in a rebound off my first save on a 3-on-1 breakaway. That was a bit frustrating, but even worse, a few minutes later I was a bit slow getting my pad down on a screened shot I saw late, and we were down by two. We managed to get the puck to our fast skater on a breakaway late in the period and he finished it off nicely to make it 1-2 after the second.

In the third, it was more of the same. They were mostly outplaying us, but I was making good and great saves to keep it close. Then the bullshit happened. They were pressuring in our end for a good while, the net got bumped and knocked off where it belongs. I saw it and took my next opportunity in the natural play to push against it and knock it further off, all while yelling numerous times that the net was off. But there was no whistle. We eventually cleared the puck to the other end, where we quickly lost possession, and their guy got it coming back the other way. I yelled again that the net was off as our defense slowly skated back and the guy with the puck seemed to slow like he was stopping before suddenly shooting the puck, which surprised me and I was slow getting down and it got past me. The ref came and said if he'd noticed the net off he would have stopped play and agreed it was off but then somehow, insanely, against all reason and rules of the game, he counted the goal to put up down by two again. It was ridiculous. But then, it got even worse because not too long after that, we had a good play crashing the net and managed to score a second goal (which should have tied the game). We kept trying to score the third goal through the test of the period and played better than we had been earlier, but even with an extra skater and me on the bench at the end we couldn't get a goal and lost by one goal, the one goal that absolutely never should have counted.

Such frustrating bullshit!

And maybe I'm honestly a bit more upset about it because the team as a whole had no business being in the game except my play kept us close and should have stolen us a tie point at least.

Damn it. But anyway, now pretty balloon in the morning after a bit of a nap.
