Has definitely already been said, but you know how Akutagawa refused to fight Atsushi in chapter 39 although manifestly saying he was still fully intentioned to do so, simply because Atsushi was mourning? Picture: Akutagawa making up increasingly absurd excuses on why he's not going to kill Atsushi on that particular day. I can't kill you today because the weather conditions aren't optimal (a perfect epic fight to death requires light precipitation). I can't kill you today because I'm going out with Gin later and I can't have bloodstains on me. I can't kill you today because there's a summer festival you must take Kyouka to. I can't kill you today because it's late and you still haven't had lunch so I'm treating you chazuke. I can't kill you today because we're both busy because it's our wedding day. But do not be mistaken, I will kill you, it's just not gonna happen today (or tomorrow, I'm busy).
