Clear Aligners Market is Anticipated to Reach US$23.8 Bn by 2029
A higher adoption of aligners due to greater awareness, and technological advancements to act as primary elements driving growth of the global clear aligners market. The clear aligners market was valued at US$5.4 Bn in 2021 and is projected to achieve the valuation of US$23.8 Bn by 2029. As highlighted by a market intelligence report of Fairfield Market Research, higher disposable incomes, procedural availability, and a preferred alternative treatment to conventional braces are all elements expected to result in the global clear aligners market expanding at a favourable CAGR of 19.8%. Technological innovations will augment market growth prospects in addition to frequent new product approvals from the US FDA that play a crucial role in market progression. The report marks the fact that the unmet treatment needs for effective oral care continue to create sustained tailwinds for market expansion worldwide. North America however remains the top market for clear aligner makers, says the report.

Adoption of Disruptive Technologies, and Innovative Product Launches Push Clear Aligners Market Outlook
Apart from caries and periodontal disease, malocclusion or the misalignment and incorrect relation between the teeth of the upper and lower dental arches is a major oral health disorder by the WHO. Irrespective of gender, the global prevalence of malocclusion is 56%, with the highest being noted as 81% in Africa and 72% in Europe, followed by 53% in North America, and 48% in the Asia Pacific. This elevated level of prevalence has resulted in the development of innovative products for effective treatment. Our study indicates that automation and a greater adoption of enhanced orthodontic and restorative techniques such as AI-assisted assessments as well as advancements in computer-aided design, dynamic smart navigation systems, 3D printing, AR/VR implementation, biomaterials, and manufacturing processes are all crucial factors resulting in an improved growth trajectory for the global clear aligners market. Moreover, a higher rate of product approvals by regulatory authorities has in turn led to stronger market competition globally and higher availability of these products and services to a wider spectrum of individuals.
North America’s Primacy Intact While Asia Pacific Emerges Lucrative in Clear Aligners Market
Our report has determined that the market for clear aligners in North America is projected to expand at a robust CAGR of 22% over the forecast timeline, 2023-2029. This region is home to a considerable number of practitioners and a higher number of individuals who have access to these services. This is expected to remain a major factor in ensuring regional market success. However, the Asia Pacific region is also slated to make immense strides in the coming years due to a rise in the prominence of economic superpowers such as China, and India. Additionally, a range of factors including better accessibility, higher disposable incomes, increased funding by public-private entities, as well as a surging number of industry-related businesses being established in this region are all responsible for fuelling market growth prospects over the forecast period.

"There you have it, gentlemen. A world without Y/N. Get used to it," Rebecca said from behind her spot in the small room.
"You have to leave that room sometime," Stephen said as he looked at her through the two windows.
"Oh, that's the beauty of it, see I can leave and you never even know--"
A crackling noise caught her attention. Her eyes flashed to your form as the stone started to crumble away from you.
Stephen narrowed his eyes in response. "Uh, Charles," he started, not taking his eyes off your form.
"What?" he choked out through a sob.
"Look at this," he instructed.
"What?" he repeated as he started to turn around, getting up and wiping his face. "What--What's happening?" he asked, confused.
"No, no," Rebecca suddenly said. "No, no it can't be. No!" she roared.
The stone continued to crumble away from you for another moment before finally, all of it was gone and you saw your two soulmates, a look of relief on their face.
"It isn't supposed to end this way!" Rebecca yelled, distraught.
Her voice set off something inside you and you pulled against your restraints. They suddenly disappeared, vaporized off you. You jumped off the bed and turned to face her in the small room.
"You--You can't come in here," she said shakily as she picked up a gun. "I have precautions!"
Your blood boiled at the sight of her. You aimed your hand at the door and fired a shot of what looked like fire at the door -- it ceased to exist.
She began to turn away from you, to what you were assuming was an exit door.
"Not so fast," you said, conjuring a whip and grabbing her with one hand. The other hand conjured another whip, grabbed the gun out of her hand, and pulled it into your hand. As soon as it hit your hand, she looked at you with fear.
"No, please, don't," she begged, the conjured rope still wrapping her tight, keeping her put.
You disintegrated the gun giving her a look filled with hatred. Your eyes filled with black as you stared at her.
"Don't worry, I'll just do to you what you did to them," you said, gesturing back to your loves. "I'll take your world away." You focused your power, this new instinct on her. You let the rope go from her as your other power bled into her.
"Wha--what's happening to me?!" she screamed as she looked around, horrified. She held her arms out just as someone would who lost their sight. "I--I can't hear anything, I can't see anything!"
You smiled at her, putting a hand on her shoulder and forcing her to her knees. You looked up at the glass window that separated you from Stephen and Charles. You fired at it and it ceased to exist.
"What did you do to her?" Stephen asked. "What... What happened to you?"
"I don't know," you admitted. "I just emerged from that stone and... this all feels so... natural. All I did was rob her of her senses. She can't hear, smell, taste, or see right now."
"Well, that's impressive, but what are we going to do with her?" Charles asked.
---------------------
Stephen and Charles helped you get her into the elevator and all of you went above ground as the authorities were called. They had arrived, you lifted your powers and they took her away.
"Charles, can I have a moment, please?" Stephen asked as he got extremely close to you.
He looked at you and you nodded so he nodded as well, walking away to talk with some of the police.
"I'm so happy to see you again, even if I did almost die," you said with a bit of a smile.
"Why is it, every time we meet, someone is having a crisis?" he asked with a laugh, one that you returned.
"I don't know." you admitted through chuckles.
He put his hands on either side of your face. "Y/N, I love you."
"I know," you said, wondering why he was telling you this.
"Will you be mine?"
You looked down. "Stephen, I can't go do this again. I've already told you that I can't choose--"
"I'm not asking you to," he suddenly said, cutting you off, making your eyes go up to his. "I'm saying, will you be mine and his? I want to know if you'll be mine, as well as his?"
You felt like you lit up a million degrees inside. "What? Yes, of course! Absolutely!"
He smiled a thousand-watt smile and picked you up, holding you tight to him before kissing you.
"What made you change your mind?" you asked when he sat you down.
"Charles did. We talked on the way up here, and he made it very clear that you love both of us, and I shouldn't worry about you choosing one or the other, or favoring one, or leaving one. He made me realize that so long as we love you, and you love us back, everything will be okay and I can live with that. I've seen you almost die too many times, and I don't want to live another day without you being mine."
All you could do was hug him again before kissing him.
“You do know what all that entails, right? You won’t get soul rights to me. I am free to come and go as I please.”
He smiled, nodding and laughing, he said, “Yes, yes, whatever you want, just please, be with me?”
“I like the idea of whatever I want,” you mused in a low voice before giving him a chaste kiss.
--------------------
As it turned out, you were an Inhuman. Charles and Stephen sought to find you answers, to see what Rebecca had released on you and why you emerged with innate powers. They found a group called Agents of Shield that had information on the crystal and the process you underwent. This would mean your parents were Inhuman as well, but they didn't know it because they hadn't been exposed to the Terrigen mist.
Once you knew what you were and that it wasn't some odd side effect or something that could harm you, Charles worked with you on getting your powers controllable and seeing what all you were capable of.
A year went by and you were the happiest you'd ever been, you were sure you were the happiest anyone had ever been. Time with Stephen and Charles was perfect. You spent your nights between the Mansion and the Sanctum. With Stephen able to open a portal between the two hour time gap wasn't even an issue. If you wanted to see him, he'd open a portal for you. If you spent the night and needed to get to work, he'd portal you there. If you wanted to go back to Charles, he'd send you there too. He was just thrilled to see you.
Balancing life between the two seemed oddly easy. There wasn't really a set schedule but for the most part you spent every other day with each man. Most of the time dinner was reserved for Charles and breakfast was reserved for Stephen, it just aligned with their clocks and schedules better.
On a few occasions, Stephen still teleported you two exotic places for dinner, or lunch, or just to sight see. Charles had picnics with you. In a surprising twist of events, a few times, Charles drove you to the city for all three of you to have a day together. He knew Stephen couldn't leave the sanctum much so he tried to keep things close to him. Not only did they have a few dual dates with you, sometimes you caught the two of them at each other's place, chatting. It turned out they had quite a bit in common, that wasn't too much of a surprise. Both rich (or at least were), doctors, genius-level intellect, both were a bit arrogant and cocky, but above all else, both were very good men who just wanted to help people and two men who loved you with all their beings.
Charles and Hank began to re-open the school, at your insistence. He was beyond thrilled to have the children in the house again and you promised to help keep the image of the school in a positive light. Stephen was learning everything he could about the mystic arts and you helped him every chance you could. Your practice was in full flight and you were doing exceptionally well in your field.
One hot summer day, July 4th in fact, you walked into the foyer of the mansion.
"Charles? Darling? I'm home!" you called out. "I got everything we need for the barbecue tonight."
Charles appeared from his office. "Hello, love. Here, let me help." He took a few bags and you went into the kitchen. You began to pull everything out when Charles grabbed your hand. "Would you come with me a moment? I'd like to show you something."
"Oh, sure, just lead the way."
He pulled you gently by the hand to the back patio. When you got out there, Charles stepped to the side and you saw Stephen. You glanced to Charles with a bit of happy surprise painted on your face.
"Stephen? What are you doing here?" you asked, before you ran full speed into Stephen. He picked you up and spun you around. "I didn't know you'd be coming."
"Well, we wanted to surprise you," he informed.
"Consider me pleasantly surprised. Oh I am so happy," you said as you watched Charles come over to stand beside Stephen. "I'll go start making the food right away so we can start the party." You started to turn but both men reached out and grabbed your hands.
"One second, darling," Charles said.
You peered at him with a curious look.
"Two years ago, out here in my backyard, on this very day, I told you I loved you for the first time. You and I kissed for the first time. It was long overdue, but I cherish it all the more because we waited until we were together in person, and in the right state of mind," Charles said.
He looked over to Stephen, as if passing on the turn to speak to him. A confused look crossed your face but you remained silent.
"And one year later, in Nepal, you and I did the same."
"That was July 4th?" you asked, astounded. "I had no idea."
"I know, but luckily for us, I was keeping track of the days. Not to mention, how could I not remember the day you and I first said we loved each other and consummated our bond?"
You hummed happily at the memory.
"Guess July 4th is kind of my lucky day with you two, huh?" you asked, a bit amused.
"We hope so, because you have been a gift to us," Charles said.
"You loved us when we couldn't love ourselves. You saw us through the darkest times and put up with us when we weren't the easiest to be around, let alone love," Stephen added.
Charles continued, "You are selfless and bend over backward for everyone you meet. Although our situation isn't quite what most expect, or even understand..."
"It works, and we wouldn't have it any other way, because it makes you happy," Stephen said.
"We couldn't dream of living without you. You complete us, and we hope we complete you."
You smiled at them. "What is this?" you asked, curious and amused.
The two of them traded a mischievous look, smirking at each other before they looked back at you. The two of them reached into their pockets quickly before both of them lowered to one knee.
"Will you marry us?" they said in unison, peering up at you with love and adoration as they exposed rings that reflected their unique personalities.
Your hand flew to your mouth. You were completely blown away. Your heart was racing.
Finally, you realized you hadn't said anything. You said, "Oh my god, yes, of course, yes! A million times yes!"
Fireworks began exploding on the horizon as they grinned and got to their feet and wrapped their arms around you. You took turns kissing them quickly before they slid their rings on your finger, looking perfect side by side. Just as they were in your life -- completing you in ways you never knew you needed. All you had to do was trust the stars.

This Is IT by Alan Watts (and Other Essays on Zen and Spiritual Experiences)
I give it: 7/10
Length: 153 pages
Tumblr media
My Spiritual Awakening took place in Los Angeles, summer of 2014. At the same time, I read this text—and now, nearly six years later, want to synthesize the take-aways as I practice minimalism in reducing my extensive books collection to just 125 books.
In this text, Alan Watts defines this as, “Spiritual awakening is the difficult process whereby the increasing realization that everything is as wrong as it can be flips suddenly into the realization that everything is as right as it can be. Or better, everything is as It can be” (13).
Essays include:
This Is IT
Instinct, Intelligence, and Anxiety
Zen and the Problem of Control
Beat Zen, Square Zen, and Zen
Spirituality and Sensuality
The New Alchemy
The title essay, This Is IT focuses on current consciousness—the continually moving moment of NOW and on the necessity to let go of control in order to be open to all emotions and the “cosmic experience.”
“I believe that if this state of consciousness could become more universal, the pretentious nonsense which passes for the serious business of the world would dissolve in laughter” (12).
This essay slightly contradicts Abraham Hicks’ (Law of Attraction) assertion that your emotions matter most of all, as the indicator of your vibrational alignment (or disharmony) with all that is. Many Hicks’ listeners confuse this to me POSITIVE VIBES ONLY, when instead, Hicks affirms that negative emotions are not “wrong” or in need or control but instead act to move you towards what you do want and what feels good.
Watts echos Hicks by affirming that negative emotions are not wrong, but co-exist on the spectrum of emotions, and we should not try to control these feelings away/separate from us. In fact, Watts points out, enlightenment often arises in moments of despair. Contrasting emotions guide us towards what we want. However, Watts contradicts the idea that joy matters most, as he distinctly states that feelings of ecstasy are often confused for enlightenment.
“...[T]he immediate now is complete even when it is not ecstatic. For ecstasy is a necessarily impermanent contrast in the constant fluctuation of our feelings. But insight, when clear enough, persists; having once understood a particular skill, the facility tends to remain” (18-19).
Instead, Nirvana includes any/all emotions present and changing. Watts and Hicks alike encourage selfishness, while Hicks considers this a path to joy and Watts sees this humanness as a path to transcend the self to the “cosmic” whole or oneness, which he claims is purposeless and instead playful.
He points out that people mistakenly look for spiritual leaders to exhibit perfection over humanity:
“...[W]hether he shows anxiety or not, whether he depends upon ‘material crutches’ such as wine or tobacco, whether he loses his temper, or gets depressed, or falls in love when he shouldn’t, or sometimes looks a bit tired or frayed at the edges. All these criteria might be valid if the philosopher were preaching freedom from being human, or if he were trying to make himself or others radically better.... But the limits within which such improvements may be made are small in comparison with the vast aspects of our nature and our circumstances which remain the same.... I am saying...that while there is a place for bettering oneself and others, solving problems...this is by no means the only or even the chief principal of life....” (31-32).
Instead of prioritizing joy as an end-goal, Watts encourages purposelessness (as opposed to goal-setting and focus on improvement) and letting go of control as key to enlightenment:
“Nature is much more playful than purposeful, and the probability that it has no specific goals for the future need not strike one as a defect.... much more like art than business, politics, or religion. They are especially like the arts of music and dancing.... No one imagines that a symphony is supposed to improve in quality as it goes along, or that the whole object of playing is to reach the finale. The point of music is discovered in every moment of playing and listening to it” (32-33).
“...[I]f we are unduly absorbed in improving...we may forget altogether to live....” (33).
He goes onto say that if we believe that everything in the world is right just as it is, then we may perceive “our normal anxieties” as “ludicrous,” or a wrong response. Really, though, each emotion exists along a spectrum of all emotions, connected and contrasting one another in relation.
“...[T]he superior truth of the ‘cosmic’ experience... [C]ontrol must always be subordinate to motion if there is to be motion at all. In human terms, total restraint of movement is the equivalent of total doubt, of refusal to trust one’s senses or feelings.... On the other hand, movement and the release of restraint are the equivalent of faith, of committing oneself to the uncontrolled and the unknown..... An essential part of the ‘cosmic’ experience is, however that the normal restriction of consciousness to the ego-feeling is also right, but only and always because it is subordinate to absence of restriction, to movement and faith.... [T]here must be total affirmation and acceptance.... [F]or man to make himself mad by trying to bring everything under his control. We become insane, unsound, and without foundation when we lose consciousness of and faith in the uncontrolled and ungraspable...world which is ultimately what we ourselves are. And there is a very slight distinction, if any, between complete, conscious faith and love” (38-39).
One critique that I have with this essay is Watt’s meager attempt to assure that such acceptance of all as-is need not perpetuate injustice:
With little supporting evidence, he state that, “[E]ven though it may be exploited for this purpose, the experience itself is in no sense a philosophy designed to justify or desensitize oneself to the inequalities of life,” (26). He goes onto say, “...the holocaust of the biological world, where every living creatures lives by feeding off others.... is reversed so that every victim is seen as offering itself in sacrifice” (37), going onto argue that all is relative.
For me, this stretch contradicts experiences of the oppressed who fight against such an “offering” of themselves to a system that goes against their free will.
Overall, I think the message —to let go of control and constant striving for perfection, to accept all of our emotions as part of all that is— ironically offers an anecdote for an unbalanced culture to improve, through acceptance over action.
The other essays in this collection:
Instinct, Intelligence, and Anxiety looks at how humans differ from animals in our ability to analyze, predict, and decide—and at what cost.
Zen and the Problem of Control asks if, “man is a self-conscious and therefore self-controlling organism, how is he to control the aspect of himself which does the controlling?” Watts using judo as an example, of working with the blows delivered versus resisting. As it turns out—cooperation is key.
Beat Zen, Square Zen, and Zen opens pandora’s box of true Zen, traditional Zen, and cultural interpretations—including Jack Kerouac’s. Watts argues that in order to don a true Zen lifestyle, one must overcome any fear or rebellion of their own culture. “Lacking this, his Zen will either be ‘beat’ or ‘square,’ either a revolt...or a form of stuffiness.... Zen is above all the liberation of the mind from conventional though...utterly different from rebellion against convention, on one hand, or adapting foreign conventions on the other” (90).
Spirituality and Sensuality begins with how, “It has often been said that the human being is a combination of animal and angel....” and further explores the illusion of duality as a true unity that cannot exist without an opposite.
The New Alchemy is an acid test that starts off with talking about immortality. Watts discusses the high points and recurrent themes of his experiences on LSD, including facing the ultimate illusion: fear of death.

10 To Watch : Mayor’s Edition 9219
RICK HORROW’S TOP 10 SPORTS/BIZ/TECH/PHILANTHROPY ISSUES FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2 : MAYOR’S EDITION
with Jacob Aere
With the new season days away, NFL corporate sponsors finalize activation plans. Starting with last Thursday’s Packers-Bears season opener at Soldier Field, 37 corporate sponsors are activating around the NFL in support of 50 brands. Those brands will combine for a total of 64 football themed TV spots, an increase of 35 additional spots, according to NFL Senior Vice President of Sponsorship Management Tracie Rodburg. Anheuser-Busch, one of the NFL’s most active sponsors, is expanding its NFL portfolio with its Bon & Viv brand in the rapidly expanding spiked seltzer category. VISA will debut two spots this week, including an NFL 100 themed ad about generational fandom. Verizon will rely on the power of the NFL to help with its 5G rollout, with activations in 12 stadiums. New sponsor Lowe’s has two national TV ads and will sell NFL licensed products in store and online. Gatorade, the league’s oldest corporate sponsor, has spots with Todd Gurley and J.J. Watt planned. NFL sponsors will also unveil more than 109 digital spots, and TV and digital ads will employ more than 100 active and retired NFLers.
I can see clearly now, a deal was done...Oakley has announced a four-year partnership with the NFL, becoming an official on-field partner and licensee of the league. The partnership marks the biggest sports deal in the brand’s history and will begin at the start of the new football season, with Oakley shields and eyewear Powered by Prizm Lens Technology being available for all 32 teams, as well as making Officially Licensed NFL Eyewear available for fans. As part of the partnership, all players will have the option of wearing Prizm Clear shields during games. “We see Oakley as an ideal partner because we’re united by the same goal: supporting some of the world’s best athletes in their quest for elite performance,” said Renie Anderson, Chief Revenue Officer & EVP, NFL Partnerships. Ad Age noted Oakley will be "designated as the 'preferred' eyewear provider, meaning coaches and players will be encouraged, but not mandated, to choose Oakley sunglasses and eyeglasses if they wear them on the sidelines." The partnership also adds a new logo to every NFL field.
As the U.S. Open enters its second week, Nike, New Balance and the USTA are "using this year’s tournament to align themselves with the empowerment, inspiration, and equality of female athletes." According to Fast Company, all three have "launched ads in the last week or so that celebrate female athlete empowerment in a few different ways." Last Sunday was Women’s Equality Day, and the USTA’s “Women Worth Watching,” created by agency Mcgarrybowen, New York "shines a light on how little attention is actually given to women’s sports." Nike’s “Sport Changes Everything” campaign "goes for full-on inspiration with spots starring Serena Williams, Sloane Stephens, Naomi Osaka, and Simona Halep, all featuring young girl fans reading out letters to their tennis heroes." New Balance "continues its newfound push into major sports branding with a new spot celebrating young phenom Coco Gauff that oozes with the brash, youthful attitude of any next generation.” Team8 President and CEO Tony Godsick represents the 15-year-old Gauff, who had already signed deals worth approximately $1 million with pasta maker Barilla, New Balance, and Head before her run at Wimbledon earlier this year.
Canadian tennis player Vasek Pospisil, newly elected to the ATP’s players council, has "quickly become the loudest voice agitating for change in the way tennis players are compensated," according to the Toronto Sun. Pospisil has "embraced the role of advocate,” explaining that while the players “have seen prize money increase dramatically for those that make the later rounds of tournaments, the compensation for the many more athletes who do not enjoy that level of success remains stagnant." Pospisil said tennis is "doing so incredibly well, but there’s still just 100 players or so that are making a good living." Pospisil added that 14% of revenues from tennis tournaments are "returned to players in the form of prize money, and he has called on professionals to form some sort of union so that they can bargain for a better deal." Roger Federer also “agreed that more money should go to those players who are not piling up wins." This year, first-round losers in both main singles draws collected $58,000, a $4,000 increase from last year. The men's and women's winners will collect $3.85 million out of a total purse of $57.2 million.
The National Lacrosse League announced that Jessica Berman has been named Deputy Commissioner and EVP of Business Affairs. Berman joins the NLL from the NHL, where she has spent the last 13 years, most recently as Vice President, Community Development, Culture, and Growth. Berman will oversee all of the league’s legal affairs and transactions, manage team services, and assist the Commissioner with the NLL’s overall growth strategy. “It takes the brightest and best to build great leagues and teams and, we are very proud to welcome one of the brightest, best and most progressive minds in sports business to the National Lacrosse League,” NLL Commissioner and Sport Business Handbook contributor Nick Sakiewicz said. “Her wide-ranging background fits exactly with the growth trajectory we are on, and her addition to our veteran team is a perfect cultural fit and win for the league, our member clubs and for the sport of lacrosse.” Berman becomes the first female Deputy Commissioner of any professional sports league in North America.
Participation in high school sports dropped in 2018-19 for the first time in 30 years, according to an annual survey conducted by the National Federation of State High School Associations. The 2018-19 total of 7,937,491 participants was a decline of 43,395 from the year prior, when the number of high school athletes reached a record high of 7,980,886. Participation in 11-man football declined for the fifth straight year and reached its lowest mark (1,006,013 participants) since 1999-2000. Likewise, combined boys’ and girls’ basketball participation was down 23,944 participants. On the flip side, participation in boys six-, eight- and nine-player football is up, and girls’ 11-player football has doubled over the past 10 years. Big winners this decade include lacrosse, soccer, and volleyball. Since 2012, boys and girls lacrosse is up 19%, boys’ soccer is up 9% and volleyball has seen growth for both genders (up 26% for boys and 8% for girls). Much of the speculation on the declines is focused on the growing trend of athletes focusing on a single sport rather than multiple. We need to find more, creative ways to keep kids involved in multiple sports – and have fun in the process.
INTER:SECT is launching an all-sport voter registration and engagement initiative. INTER:SECT is an L.A.-based tactical solutions agency that promotes the power of collaborative innovation that exists at the intersection of sports, business, and social impact. The "Don't Drop the Ball. Vote." initiative is pursuing partnerships across the major U.S. sports leagues to have voter registration opportunities at professional sports venues in the lead-up to the 2020 election. The initiative is intentionally nonpartisan and centered on get out the vote efforts along with some strategic, localized voter engagement components. The voter engagement component convenes local sports representatives, business, and community leaders in cities around the country to participate in locally-focused think tanks to collectively strategize around executable solutions to promote voter turnout among citizens of those specific regions. This is a terrific example of how sports can propel civic engagement without putting off voters and legislators on either side of the aisle.
Pledge It and MaxPreps partnered to launch the fourth annual Touchdowns Against Cancer (TAC) program. Starting its fourth season, TAC, powered by Pledge It, has raised nearly $500,000 to benefit cancer research for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. In support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, every touchdown scored by participating high schools throughout the country during September will directly benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Last season, the Lynx from Lausanne Collegiate in Memphis raised a record $21,267 by scoring 26 touchdowns and securing dozens of pledges throughout their community. Just like winning on the football field, the TAC crowns a champion for the school that donates the most and John Stockett, senior director of business and marketing for MaxPreps, thinks this year’s TAC participation could lead to the most money raised in a single year.
The Kelly Brush Foundation will host its 14th annual charity ride for adaptive sports. Organizers of Vermont’s largest charity bike ride are gearing up for another adaptive sports ride. Last year, 900 participants came out for the event. Funds raised by riders provide direct support for equipment that gets spinal cord injury patients out enjoying activities that enrich their lives like skiing, basketball, cycling, and tennis. According to VT Digger, the foundation has awarded more than 830 people grants in 47 states for adaptive equipment through its Active Fund. The ride also supports the foundation’s ski racing safety program. Participants can ride 100, 50, 20, or 10 mile routes through the scenic Champlain Valley, and/or play a round of golf at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course at Middlebury College to support the Kelly Bush Foundation. As for those who can’t make it to Vermont, the foundation offers a virtual option that allows participants to take part in the fundraising ride from anywhere.
James Harden is back to giving. This time, it's for basketball courts in Houston. According to USA Today, Harden is donating more than $240,000 to Houston to renovate outdoor basketball courts in under-served areas that were ravaged by Hurricane Harvey. The announcement was made at Tuffly Park in north Houston, where over 100 neighborhood children also received new bicycles. Harden also donated $1 million to the city two years ago after Harvey. Harden's charity weekend also included a comedy show and a celebrity softball game that featured newly-acquired Rockets guard Russell Westbrook. On top of the direct donations, all of the JH-Town Weekend events benefited Harden's 3 The Harden Way foundation, which offers scholarships and internship opportunities to students facing economic hardship.

The NIR Borescope can give the operator access to data which would have previously been either highly time consuming to collect or perhaps completely unknown. Through collecting this data the operator can begin to increase the efficiency of the furnace/melt tank, improving product quality and reducing process costs.
Using LIPS (Land Image Processing System) the operator has the ability to set points or areas of interest and measure live data points as well as storing and trending this data for future analysis.  By monitoring the live video, it can allow the operator to configure the correct, most efficient firing pattern and achieve optimum performance from the burners. This can save significant costs through reducing fuel usage and gaining the best possible performance from the furnace/melt tank
The NIR-b offers the operator numerous advantages over the existing techniques:
The operator gets a high resolution radiometric image of the process meaning a live temperature value can be obtained from any point on the image.
Automated alarm outputs can instantly alert the user to any problems within the process
Any air leaks and glass leaks, which are detrimental to the efficiency of the furnace are clearly visible and simple to detect
A clear profile of the flame is easily visible
The operator has access to more than 324,000 live temperature data points
Thermocouple can alert to product overheating
Coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Improve plant safety by removing personnel from the dangerous environment of the application
Monitor all positions from the safety of the control room
Long term data trending
Fuel optimisation meaning significant savings on gas
Key Benefits
Accurate, high resolution radiometric thermal imager camera provides high definition temperature maps enabling precise product control and monitoring
Short wavelength sensor provides low sensitivity to emissivity changes and can be used through existing glass or quartz view ports.
Resolution of 656 x 494 pixels gives 324,000 live temperature data points.
Dedicated software with data points, areas of interest, automated alarms and long term data trending
24 hour, 7 day monitoring solution means accurate trending information with no missing data
Live data points mean measurements are taken from exactly the same point each time. This removes operator error from collected information
Shutter less operation ensures 100%measurement availability (i.e. no blind times)
The thermocouple located at the tip of the NIR-b can alert the operator if the instrument temperature is rising to unsafe levels, it can be removed from the process and avoid damage
24 Month Warranty gives ownership piece of mind
What advantages does the Borescope have?
Building on more than twenty years experience with infrared technology Land has continued to widen its range of temperature measurements solutions by launching the NIR Borescope. With the NIR Borescope it is possible to use the proven technology of NIR Thermal Imager to accurately profile the temperature of the entire furnace with only a small opening in the wall.
Thermal imaging inside refractory lined furnaces, boilers and glass melt tanks normally requires the plant operator to cut large openings in the refractory to enable viewing of the critical area. This can cause significant wasted energy from heat loss and can be difficult to keep the opening free from debris. The NIR-b has a 90° viewing angle, through a narrow opening to overcome this.
Why traditional methods of monitoring are highly limited?
The NIR-Borescope offers significant advantages over some of the traditional methods of furnace monitoring, including Visual Inspection (can take hours to comple and isn’t continuous), a Visual Camera (does not provide a termperature reading) or using Thermocouples (regular failure or loss of connections).

Glass Melt Tanks
It is desirable to monitor the conditions inside glass melt tanks for a number of reasons. The operator will always want to gather as much information as possible to improve his/her understanding of the process and the temperatures involved.
There are several aspects most operators would like to monitor within the tanks. One is the crown and wall temperatures of the furnace to help ensure that the refractory is not overheating and running at temperatures which could cause damage to the furnace. Another is to monitor the blanket (or melt line).
Monitoring the conditions inside glass melt tanks has traditionally utilized visual camera technology and manual inspections. Both of these techniques have inherent problems.
Visual cameras:
DO NOT give a true temperature reading. There is no guarantee of accuracy meaning aligning the process to run to optimum performance based on this information will not be successful and could result in overheating or inefficient combustion. The radiometric image can be presented to appear to simulate the visual camera view the operator may be accustomed to working with.
Manual inspections are also widely used. Manual inspections have a number of weaknesses:
They are labour intensive and time consuming.
Often taking hours to complete everyday and requiring multiple staff members.
Inherently possess a risk to the operator of having to spend extended periods of time within the application environment.
Different operators will naturally take the temperatures readings from slightly different points. Therefore the data collected will not necessarily be suitable for building trend information.
The NIR Borescope can give the operator access to data which would have previously been either highly time consuming to collect or perhaps completely unknown. Through collecting this data the operator can begin to increase the efficiency of the furnace, improving product quality and reducing process costs.
Using LIPS the operator has the ability to set points or areas of interest and measure live data points as well as storing and trending this data for future analysis.  By monitoring the blanket (or melt line), live video can allow the operator to configure the correct, most efficient firing pattern and achieve optimum performance from the burners. This can save significant costs through reducing fuel usage and gaining the best possible performance from the furnace.

Coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Improve plant safety by removing personnel from the application environment
Monitor all positions from the safety of the control room
Long term data trending
Fuel optimisation meaning significant savings on gas
Reformer Tube Furnaces
By viewing inside the furnace the operator can take temperature information from various points of each tube in order to monitor the tube condition. This information can be used to check for hot spots appearing and trended over time to identify potential problem areas.
maximise their knowledge of the temperatures involved within the process for several reasons:
Prolonging the life of the tube
The tubes used within the process are extremely expensive. Made specifically for the application the cost of a single tube can be £10,000 with each furnace using hundreds of tubes. Running the process over temperature will drastically reduce the lifetime of the tubes meaning the tubes will need replacing more often or faults can occur leading to super heated steam escaping into the process.
Reducing down time and tube replacement
Replacing the tubes requires the purchase of replacements and stopping the process for the work to be completed. This downtime is extremely expensive and can, on a large plant, cost up to £1m per day!
Running at maximum efficiency
Through improving their knowledge of the process the operator is able to ensure that the temperatures involved are correct for the most efficient use of the furnace. This has several benefits, first it will ensure the maximum level of reaction in the process and secondly, it can maximise fuel efficiency and so reduce costt.
Reduce risk of catastrophic failure
Closely monitoring the condition of the tubes within the furnace can allow early identification of any potential hot spot or weaknesses. This can allow preventative action to be taken before the problem becoming serious.
The NIR Borescope can give the operator access to data which would have previously been either highly time consuming to collect or perhaps completely unknown. Through collecting this data the operator can begin to increase the efficiency of the furnace, improving product quality and reducing process costs.  By setting data points in the software the operator can ensure that the data is taken from exactly the same point every measurement and remove human error.
Through better understanding the temperature the operator can monitor the tubes and ensure they are within the specified limits thus greatly increasing the life time of the tube and the period between expensive downtime periods. The operator will also be able to maximise combustion efficiency and so reduce fuel costs and maximise output.
The NIR-b offers the operator numerous advantages over the existing techniques:
The operator gets a high resolution radiometric image of the process meaning a live temperature value can be obtained from any point on the image.
Automated alarm outputs can instantly alert the user to any problems within the process
A clear profile of the flame is easily visible

Thermocouple can alert to product overheating
Coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Improve plant safety by removing personnel from the dangerous environment of the application
Monitor all positions from the safety of the control room
Long term data trending
Reheat Furnaces
By viewing inside the furnace the operator can take temperature information from relevant points and trend the data. The operator will need to know:
That the burners are working correctly and consistently.
The condition of the furnace walls
Temperature information of the product as it moves through the process
The operator will want to maximise their knowledge of the temperatures involved within the process for several reasons:
Reducing downtime
Running at maximum efficiency
Maximise combustion
Reduce fuel costs
Prolong furnace life
The NIR Borescope can give the operator access to data which would have previously been either highly time consuming to collect or perhaps completely unknown. Through collecting this data the operator can begin to increase the efficiency of their process, improving product quality and reducing costs.
By setting data points in the software the operator can ensure that the data is taken from exactly the same point every measurement and remove human error. The operator will also be able to maximise combustion efficiency and so reduce fuel costs and maximise output.

Get Your Vehicle Ready for Winter Driving
With winter looming on the horizon, it’s a good time to review this checklist to make sure that your vehicle – and you – are ready for the joys of winter driving. If you spend about 60 minutes going through the items on this checklist while inspecting your car, you’ll be halfway to being ready for winter. The second half is getting your vehicle in for seasonal maintenance performed by a certified technician. TGK Automotive has five locations in the Twin Cities where you will find certified technicians providing high-quality car care to clients. The Automobile Association of America (AAA) has a great winter preparation checklist for your vehicle that we wanted to share with drivers in the Twin Cities.
So what’s on the AAA Winter Vehicle Care Checklist?
Battery and Charging System – Get them checked by a certified technician. You need a fully charged battery in good condition if you want your engine to be reliable in the winter.
Battery Cables and Terminals – Check the condition of the battery cables and terminals. Make sure all connections are secure and remove any corrosion from the terminals and posts.
Drive Belts – Inspect belts for cracks or fraying. Don’t just look at the smooth top surface of the belt, but turn it over and check the grooved underside where most belt wear occurs.
Engine Hoses – Visually inspect the cooling system hoses for leaks, cracks or loose clamps. Also, squeeze the hoses to check for any that may be brittle or excessively spongy feeling and in need of replacement.
Tire Type and Tread – In areas with heavy winter weather, changing to snow tires on all four wheels will provide the best winter traction. All-season tires will work well in light to moderate snow conditions, providing they have adequate tread depth. If any tire has less than 3/32-inches of tread, it should be replaced. Uneven wear on the tires can indicate alignment, suspension or wheel balance problems that should be addressed to prevent further damage to the tires.
Tire Pressure – Check tire pressure more frequently during winter months. As the temperature drops, so will the pressures in the tires—typically 1 PSI for every 10 degrees Fahrenheit. The proper tire pressure levels can be found on a sticker located on the driver’s side door jamb. And, don’t forget to check the spare.
Air Filter – Check the engine’s air filter by holding it up to a 60-watt light bulb. If light can be seen through much of the filter, it is still clean enough to work effectively. However, if the light is blocked by most of the filter, replace it.
Coolant Levels – Check the coolant level when the engine is cold. If the coolant level is low, add a 50/50 solution of coolant and water to maintain the necessary antifreeze capability. The level of antifreeze protection can be checked with an inexpensive tester available at any auto parts store.
Lights – Check the operation of all headlights, taillights, emergency flashers, turn signals, brake lights and back-up lights. Replace any burnt out bulbs.
Wiper Blades – Blades should completely clear the glass with each swipe. Replace blades that leave streaks or miss spots. In areas with snowy conditions, consider installing winter wiper blades that wrap the blade in a rubber boot to prevent ice and snow buildup that can prevent good contact between the rubber blade and the glass.
Washer Fluid – Fill the windshield washer fluid reservoir with a cleaning solution that has antifreeze components for cold weather use.
Brakes – Have brakes inspected by a certified technician to ensure all components are in good working order.
Transmission, Brake and Power Steering Fluids – Check all fluids to ensure they are at or above the minimum safe levels.
Emergency Road Kit – Update the car’s emergency kit for winter weather. The kit should include:
Bag of abrasive material (sand, salt, cat litter) or traction mats
Snow shovel
Snow brush
Flashlight with extra batteries
Window washer solvent
Ice scraper
Cloth or roll of paper towels
Jumper cables
Gloves, hats and blankets
Warning devices (flares or triangles)
Drinking water
Non-perishable snacks (energy or granola bars)
Extra clothes
First-aid kit
Basic toolkit (screwdrivers, pliers, adjustable wrench)
Mobile phone and car charger with important numbers programmed in it, including a roadside assistance provider

Zoook Rocker BoomBox+ 32W Bluetooth Speakers Review: First of all thanks for visiting this article, if you are planning to purchase Bluetooth speakers under 3,000 rupee then we must say you are in the right place. We are using this product from last two months, and still, now we are quiet happy with its performance. Zook Rocker is a Good Radio having a quality of sound with its price. So here are things which we like, dislike and worth to mention about Zoook Rocker BoomBox+ 32W Bluetooth Speakers.
Technical Details:
Brand Zoook Model BoomBox+ Model Name Rocker Item Weight 2.5 Kg Product Dimensions 39 x 16 x 19 cm Batteries: 2 Lithium ion batteries required. Zoook Rocker BoomBox+ 32W Bluetooth Speakers Review
Build quality: Is good, but could be improved. There is slight movement in the casing joints, especially on the top handle. Finish is also a little uneven, which makes it feel a little less premium.
Sound quality: I have already covered most of this above. Let me emphasize that a lot of quality is also to do with the player application and the sound card of your laptop/phone. I have tried this out with the following: Default player on MI Phone, Audacious on Ubuntu Linux and Vox Player on Mac. So far the best experience has been with Mac. The default windows audio player should also give you a good experience.
Connectivity: Be aware that your connectivity mode would impact the quality of sound. I found Bluetooth quality to be lower (w.r.t. clarity and timbre) that using an audio jack to connect with laptop/phone. Best quality under default settings (no equalizer) is to play directly from sdcard.
Bass and Treble: Are both acceptable to good as long as you are not expecting the quality of a home theatre system (e.g., Sony). I would say that bass could have been a little bit deeper, but that is not a major complaint. In general, the sound quality is clear. There is some distortion at peak volumes, but that would be due to additional bass from the player system.
Equalizer: Please do not use double equalizers, i.e., the one provided by your player and the inbuilt one in the system. Always use one over the other, else sound quality will fall and you will get distortions at peak levels.
Loudness: The box is loud enough to reach across 2-3 regular sized rooms. I usually keep it at 7/15 levels to avoid a headache and not disturb others.
Price: As per the price is concern Zoook Rocker BoomBox+ 32W Bluetooth Speakers comes with the price tag of Rs. 3,000 in the Indian market.
Pros:
Reasonable price.
Amazing Design.
Great Sound & Bass.
Awesome Battery.
Easy to Handle.
Cons:
FM is not good.
Difficult to carry.
Final Words:
Thumps up for sound quality and battery backup at this price but it’s only a Bluetooth speaker, not a portable Bluetooth speaker if size no matter go for it. We finally hope you find Zoook Rocker BoomBox+ 32W Bluetooth Speakers review very useful if you still have any query feel free to ask us via below comment box.
