Tips on “Keeping the Calm” When Your Family is Growing!

Pregnant with or planning on a second, third or forth baby!?!  Well, it is definitely a shift in dynamic, a whole lot more love and a sometimes a wee bit of an adjustment for the current babe(s) of the family.  Here are a few tips to help ease the adjustment.

Seek their help & make it a team effort

From grabbing a fresh diaper, to picking the babes outfit for the day.  Asking their advice and making it seem like you couldn't possibly take care of the new baby without their help, it keeps them involved and feeling rather important.

Bond time with the new baby

Having older siblings sing, read and talk to the new baby about anything and everything is just win-win all around.  Sibling bonds develop in the most beautiful unexpected moments of an ordinary day.

Watch your wording

Referring to your newborn as their new brother or sister rather than “the baby”. It is a subtle way to reinforce the importance of their new role and their relationship.

Listening and Empathizing  

Talking to your little ones about their feelings about the new baby.  Recognize the changes that are happening and how it may make your older kids feel. Giving them one-on-one time whenever possible makes a world of difference.

Plan Ahead

Having the current babes of the family set up for the new arrival.  From the room, shopping for supplies, clothes etc.  Explaining to them how things will change in routine.  Having them understand the needs of a new baby.  A good tool to have is a special box of toys or books that are only played with and looked at when the new baby is feeding.  

A growing family is a wonderful thing.  Although it can seem challenging at the time, implementing some of the tips listed above can not only increase connectedness with your child but also help with a smooth transition!

Whats your thoughts on the Korean production of the Death Note Musical?

It looks pretty awesome! Wish we had a full recording of it the same way we have full recordings of the Japanese versions. Junsu’s style for L is interesting, but I definitely prefer Koike’s style being closer to the original L in the Japanese production. Korean Misa’s backup dancers seem to have better costumes, and I really want to see the full version of that song in Korean, because the styles are so different. Basically, my thoughts can be summed up as “more please!” because I haven’t actually seen it.

I am also forever grateful that the Korean production decided to market with studio-recorded music videos, because they’re wonderful.

MM recently had her pr put out an article that she wants Charles and the Queen to gift Harry and her Highgrove as a gift for her birthday. HAHAHAHA! (FYI, it was mentioned a while ago that he is not giving Highgrove to anyone as he wants to keep it and then bequeath it as a museum house. It is his 3rdchild.) The article states that everyone gets a country house from the Queen, so H&M want Highgrove. (Again, not gonna happen.) I think MM Anon implies she is groveling for it…?

MM is getting bad reviews in fashion (duh) and lots of side-eye about her lack of writing skills. (She writes like a high schooler). 

Andrew is ratting on his perverted peers to the FBI in exchange for not being prosecuted regarding Pervert Island. A group of women have decided not to tell on Andrew in order to support the UK Monarchy. I assume this means that Andy is truly guilty, but will not be prosecuted, because he is informing to the FBI and his victims are refusing to testify against him so the Monarchy doesn’t get brought into it. (This saddens me, but I expected it.)

Fergie is at Balmoral and will be showing up on Sunday at church. Everyone is going to keep their distance from MM and probably Harry too.
