I pasted your picture on the wall,
So, I don’t forget the bond we shared.
You were a friend most extraordinary,
For more than fifty years, we were paired.
Fellows wondered about our friendship,
Because we were opposites in many ways.
You loved to shop, and I loved to read,
But we were pals for nearly all of our days.
Even now that you are in Heaven with God,
I find myself thinking, “I…
Today I’m beginning the final week of my portable MFA in poetry. As I read the instructions, she says that after this week I can go back to the beginning and start again. I have to admit, that hadn’t crossed my mind, but sitting here looking at the final week of this two month experience, I see it as a real possibility. I guess I’ll see if I feel the same at the end of the week.
The Fallen by…
Here, there, everywhere
Sometimes he lies around here.
Like a horse fallen asleep mid-gallop.
Sometimes I catch him lying there…
In fact, it seems he is comfortable everywhere!
Such has been my weekend. Laying around with allergy and sinus issues, my dog has kept me company. I’ve certainly caught up on some sleep!
What’s happening? Not much today, and that’s okay!
Three Things Challenge # M579
Don't hedge bets against yourselfif you are backed against the wall. Don't ride the fence; choose a path.

This was written for the Three Things Challenge.
Sadly, it been a long while since I made my last confession/TTC/Weekly Smile! …
The thing is – life is starting to get back to normal. I’d love to say that it means perfection but, as we all know, that ain’t the case. I’m not talking about Covid – rather the inconvenience of having the kitchen refitted. The last TTC – Weekly Smile was mid waiting for the fitters to arrive. It was done with…
I took a mushroom lighter holder pattern and swam with it 😅
How to:
I used a 3.5 hook. The fish head is: ch6 make a circle, then 3dc per stitch, then 1sc, 1dc for the whole length. The fins r frontloop, 2hdc, 3Tc, 2hdc, then the next row I decreased at the fins/ skipped the stitch with the fin. For the last row I did front loops: slip+ ch1 all. to make it flair out.
The mouth is: start at any stitch, 6sc, next row: 2sc per stitch, next row: slipst all. Glue on googly eyes
Then for the pocket part I started at the tail like one of them leaf bookmarks. (Left a long tail before the slipknot. Use it later to sew tail on better.) then chain 5 make a little circle. Next row increase all. Next row increase every other. Turn it into a tube big enough to hold a Bic. Make it about 13 rows tall. Then at the end, do a slip+ch1 the whole frontloop edge. This makes the head kinda click onto it snugly. Then if u want it for a necklace make sure it's about lanyard length. 30in ish. Tie it onto the edge of the lighter part and bead the head on.
Birthday dinner hair featuring Move with Me Hair Gel by @curlsdefined as a base gel and the ever popular @enbbanaturals styling gel as a topper. This was my first time trying out Enbba Naturals, and it's only day two but I'm already pretty impressed with the results.

You lived all nine lives, you wonderful old tomcat,
And to see you memorialized is great fun.
You’d take on any cat or dog who dared you,
Leaving them hurt when the fight was done.
The volume of the noise when you fought
Let everyone know that you were for real.
You screeched and scratched to the utmost,
Instructing all around that you were the real…
