Donald Trump ‘The Big Lie’ Bourbon
For those who have been driven to drink by Trumpism.
A UK Company, Caskshare, Is Trolling Donald Trump With a ‘Big Lie’ Bourbon. Hot on the heels of the first Big Lie scotch whisky, which was cheekily dedicated to the demise of British PM Boris Johnson, comes an American version that just might trump the first. This new bourbon has its sights set squarely upon our own stable genius ex-President Donald Trump.
The details provided by Caskshare are as follows—the source distillery’s location is “maybe Nambia,” the whiskey’s age is “young and vibrant” and the bottle number is “number one, of course.” Legendary master distiller “Donald” is the creator of this bourbon, and the bottling was approved “Bye Don.” The ABV is cask strength of 47.5 percent, and while no specific info has been provided about the angel’s share for this whiskey it looks like Donald was unable to stop the steal.
The tasting notes: “On first inspection [the whiskey] has a straw color and there’s the whiff of “covfefe’” echoing summer nights by the Mexican border on the nose, followed by the gentle aroma of burgers and fries in the Oval Office. The Devil’s cut here is tremendous but there are no bad hombres to be found in this bottle.”
Next time you're watching Trump and FOX News, drink "The Big Lie Bourbon"! It hits the spot!!!

Hey guys! How's it going? 🙂. . For this Friday's review we have the special edition 13yo Jura Two-One-Two! . Matured in American white oak barrels and finished in Chinkapin oak barrels, the limited edition of 6000 bottles celebrates the small and vibrant community of about 212 islanders - and a distillery. This inaugural bottling, the first in a series of annual launches, has been aged in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Chinkapin oak barrels. Bottled at 47.5% ABV and aged 13 years. You will discover a beautiful range of tempting aromas and enchanting aromas, which can be enjoyed in every bottle. . Color: Hot honey . Nose: Lemon cake, apricots, cinnamon spices and creamy coffee. . Palate: Peach syrup, sherbet and fried pistachios, oranges. . Finish: Medium, with oranges, spice and hints of chocolate. . Have you tried Chinkapin oak finished whisky before?. What is Chinkapin oak you ask? Quercus muehlenbergii, the chinkapin or chinquapin oak, is a deciduous species of tree in the white oak group. The species was often called Quercus acuminata in older literature. Chinkapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii) is native to eastern and central North America. Now you know I like Jura whisky and this is no exception, I quite like this unique profile, haven't tried any Chinkapin finished whisky before :-) . . Cheers guys and have a great weekend! . #scottishwhisky #whisky #jura #jurawhisky #juratwoonetwo #scotch #firewaterxo #scotchwhisky #whiskyporn #whiskygram #whiskybar #bottle #drinks #scotland #friday #weekend #weekendvibes #summervibes #spirits #summerishere #summerlove #whiskyparty #cheers #romamia #cluj #transylvania #jurajueves #isleofjura (at Cluj-Napoca) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDmEumsnCRw/?igshid=18rrlqne5gegj

Today we take a break from our on-going run-down of the Kensington Wine Market whisky advent calendar to look at a couple of very special whiskies.
Black Fox is a farm-to-table distillery in the Saskatoon area that has gotten international praise for its products. So far that has meant primarily gin; as we discussed a number of years ago, I’ve never been a huge fan of gin, but I will sip their products every single time.
At a tasting event in 2016 John and Barb, the proprietors, noted that they had laid down whisky into some barrels and they were excited to start working that side of the spirits aisle. At the time I said, and I quote, “I have no doubt that when it comes of age there will be nothing like it in Saskatchewan, and maybe not even Canada. This might be Canada’s best craft distiller, frankly.”
With Black Fox’s first whisky products heading to retail, I am happy to report that I was right.
Black Fox has produced three whiskies, two of which I was able to procure. The first is a single grain (triticale, a hybrid grain that features in several Black Fox products and is said to “combine the quality and uniformity attributes of wheat with the vigour and hardiness of rye”) aged in new American oak casks; the second is a sherry cask finished version of the same. Both arrive at an ABV of about 47.5% and retail in 500 ml bottles. My best intelligence suggests it’s at least five years old, but I think they’re not being totally exactly about that.
BLACK FOX SINGLE GRAIN
Starting off at the base level, but there’s nothing basic about it. This is a very unique whisky, robust and bold. The nose hits like you've just walked into a dusty grain bin, with a very slight sourness, a distant hint of vanilla, baking spices, almond, mango, and praline. Towards the finish there's leather and something slightly solvent (though that either blew off over time or I got used to it).
On the tongue the flavours are similar, with a unique cereal taste that dominates at first. That's followed by a touch of bitter, tannic oak and ashy smoke, offset with some butterscotch, maple, apricot, and a hint of peach. Dry spices and almond add more depth, and it all coasts to a sturdy, lengthy finish.
CASK FINISH
The cask finished version offers an intriguing tweak on the SE 11 Single Grain, with a similar but wholly different experience.
The nose swaps the hint of sour on the single grain for a pleasantly fruity sweetness, with mango, raisin, plum skin, and red grapes. Rich and nutty, the sweetness also has layers of butterscotch, fudge, and corn syrup. A note of dusty leather adds some grit.
The palate also has some fidelity to the nose, robust, sweet and nutty. Brazil nuts, maybe, paired with green grain, leather, fudge, baking spices, butterscotch, vanilla, tannic oak and dry spices creating an intoxicating (ha!) experience.
This is a standout whisky, easily one of the most interesting Canadian whiskies out there. Given the depth and complexity of the rest of their portfolio of products, I'm not at all surprised that Black Fox's initial whisky offerings have been given the time and attention needed to carve out a distinct space in the whisky universe. I look forward to the other (and future) releases!

What are you drinking for election night? (Inspired by r/wine) via /r/whiskey
What are you drinking for election night? (Inspired by r/wine)
Hello all,
Credit for the idea to u/marcABZ123 over at r/wine
What will you be drinking on election night? I'm assuming the answer may differ depending on the outcome. Feel free to include that, but the main focus will be "what are you drinking during" to help get you through!
EDIT: To avoid this conversation being co-opted by partisan bickering, I recommend saying "my candidate" instead of Biden/Trump. Also, I'm aware we may not have an outcome tomorrow :(
My Answer:
DURING: Lagavulin 8 (solid middling dram, comforting peat, will enjoy with food)
IF MY CANDIDATE WINS: Celebrating with my favourite dram (pre-Viking Highland Park 21 (47.5% ABV)
IF MY CANDIDATE LOSES: Will need something cask strength to drown my sorrows. Octomore 07.1

Got some mess-up order grains for my LBHS so I added some to this recipe (carahell, carafoam, special roast) wish I didn’t add the special roast, but this will be drinkable.
I plan on splitting this batch. Bottling 1.25 gallon into a minikeg. and adding 1L of coconut seltzer to the other half after kegging the first half. and bottling that. to get an IPA and a session ipa
