upd: this drawing is mediocre but it got a lot of attention because the chapter was just released and everyone was emotional. which is just another proof that the amount of likes depends on the timing and emotional state of the target audience, rather than the quality of the drawing. (not trying to be self-depreciating here, just stating facts)

I’m still getting used to drawing him but this was fun to practice🐛

Honestly incredible that Mokona’s rampant desire for alcoholic treats just derails Watanuki entirely and forces him to visit Doumeki at Question Mark o’clock. 

But it’s a delight that we’re at the stage that he can just show up at Doumeki’s doorstep in the middle of the night and doesn’t do it screaming and shouting in protest. He’s just there and Doumeki just lets him in without question. 

The romance of it all is just getting me. 

And Watanuki bringing up his problem to Doumeki! We love to see it, both because Doumeki is his usual taste tester (you could say) but also because it’s Doumeki! Watanuki coming to Doumeki with his problems and trying to gain some insight that will help him with an obscure problem. It’s the kind of team work that makes me hope that these two will be alright once Yuuko finally leaves us (which is sooner rather than later) if this is the pattern they fall into. 

Also this rules out the line of questioning that Watanuki is currently investigating, which seems to be “Well, DOES your cooking just taste bad if you’re the one that cooks it?” The answer is an easy no, but with Watanuki’s track record you can hardly blame him for hoping the solution is something simple for once instead of something deeply messed up.

Ohohoho this is going in a fun direction. It didn’t ‘taste bad’, but Doumeki could get absolutely no read whatsoever on the emotions or habits of the person who cooked it. 

Which means it isn’t ‘resentment’ that she’s baking into dishes, like I though, but rather a complete uncaring blank slate? Which would definitely be a stark contrast to the habits and emotions that Watanuki is bringing to every single dish. 

Also what a wild thing to think about - that when Doumeki eats he gets a read on the emotions of the person who cooked it, and he constantly wants to eat anything that Watanuki cooks and never wants to stop. 

How interesting.
