I've seen a post where OP received an ask from someone saying that they received hate accusing them of being "less of a fan" because they play only the ENG version, and OP went on a huge rant accusing ENG fans who prefer the JP version of pulling this shit. To be honest, I disagree with OP and think this is a JP speaking only fandom exclusive thing. Hell, it seems like the person who sent this ask was trying to make that point, but didn't articulate it well.

I've been in the ENG TWST fandom since Scarabia dropped on the JP servers. I've NEVER seen anyone on this side of the fandom say that ENG only players are stupid idiots that are unable to handle the "greatness" of the "true version". Not once. (To be honest, even the Japanese version has massive writing issues and is very flawed. I've lobbed criticism at it plenty of times before. But that's another topic completely.) Granted, there might be some people Twitter spouting this BS out that I'm not aware of, considering I don't have an account on there, but even I find that unlikely.

For the most part, I've seen fellow ENG speaking JP players recommend watching the fansubs over playing the official version. That's understandable thanks to the 4Kids-like censorship (erasing Azul's ED, changing the Scarabia Dou's backstory to the point Jamil seems like a completely different character, scrapping all of the instances where Jamil calls Kalim his "master" and the swearing, getting rid of all of the hints of the Asims being off-screen villains, etc) and weird writing choices. Hell, I highly recommend anyone getting into this fandom to watch the fan subs instead as well! There's a difference between recommending the original and genuinely looking down upon someone for only playing the official English one. One is being helpful while other just makes you a dick.

People have less off a right to do that in this fandom. This isn't a typical dub vs sub situation where one side has perfectly understandable reasons to pick one over the other like blindness or being neurospicy. Even I admit I prefer dubs unless they are super inaccurate like YGO or Tokyo Mew Mew. Both versions of the game are subtitled in Japanese.

That's why I suspect this is more of a thing for JP speaking only fans than anyone international. Because I've seen the Asian fan base act haughty and holier than thou about this sorta thing in other fandoms. (Looking at you Asian Persona and Danganronpa fandoms). From what I heard, the JP TWST fandom is no different.

Don't get it twisted. If you think I'm deflecting the blame, I'm not. While the ENG speaking fandom is far from being the most toxic fandom I've been a part of, if anything it's about average, it has countless issues as well. Not tagging posts correctly, the hate lobbed at content creators no matter what gender "Yuu" you create, misinformation spreading around like wildfire, stupid fandom hot takes like accusing characters like Vil of "being racist" over stupid shit, sadly usual actual racism and queerphobia that springs up in all western fandoms, etc. I just don't think this one is particular is one of them.

here are my (correct) opinions <3 rin vs natsuki - i've never played catherine so i'm gonna have to give this one to ms. natsuki. u deserve so much better ): kaan vs natsu - i watched neo yokio at a very difficult transition period in my life so this one goes to kaz ! doremi vs yui - doremi ! i grew up watching ojamajo on 4kids, it was one of my first exposures to magical girls bianca vs aelita - i would come home from school every day and turn on cartoon network so i could watch code lyoko ( and totally spies but that's another story ). i'm an aelita stan all the way !! kotoko vs coco - i have danganronpa brainrot and kotoko deserves better !!!!!!!!! ): tom vs lars - mmm. i'm giving this one to lars. i love tom but steven universe was one of my biggest hyperfixations in high school and it got me through some really tough times emu vs tori - i'm not in either of these fandoms but i'm biased towards cute girls soooo emu ! hortensia vs cherche - once again, not apart of the fandom, but i like cherche's design a bit more ! fluttershy vs mad mew mew - fluttershy !! mlp dominated my life from ages 12 - 16. plus the undertale fandom honestly scares the fuck outta me ghfjksjdhf nikki vs sweetheart - i've only ever played love nikki soooo nikki ! but i'm sure i would like sweetheart, i just gotta get around to playing OMORI ;; giovanni vs glimmer - ughhhh this one is really tough. i love both of them so much, i would be fine with either taking the win. but if i have to pick just one... it's probably the soup man

‘Killed’ Kids are actually being sent to the Nightmare Realm(a place with a few things in common with Hazbin Hotel Hell but not the non-kid friendly things[definitely the not kids friendly things]) and transformed(every important dead person except Ishimaru[haven’t come up with a crap-tier americanization for his name]) into fiends[Alter Ego is Chihiro’s fiend form] who can come back only when the worst of the despair is gone(post danganronpa 3[the anime])

Monokuma’s as awful and creepy as ever.

Junko’s also as awful and creepy but it’s not her fault that the Personification of Despair possessed her.
