Full Spectrum Dominance continues to be "sick as fuck", claims local gay.
So what's up? Did I have a good game with friends? Maybe print some new stuff?
Nah, I spent a day or so painting tiny grafitti and murals on 6mm scale buildings. You know, like a normal, mentally well person.

First real structure for Legions Imperialis/Battletech is done.
I'm really really happy with how this ended up but there's no way I'm going to be putting this much effort into every building if I need a whole cityscape.
I think the key to getting buildings at this scale to look right is to sprinkle little details that give a sense of scale- like the flyers on the wall or the little resin roof bits. It helps anchor it in my head as not just a big grey block
The recipe for this ended up being pretty straightforward: a mix of grout, craft glue, water, and a little paint made a great primer for the XPS foam I used without melting it as spraycans will. After that I hit it with a brown oil wash, a coat of thinned black acrylic, and finally a lighter grey drybrush.

It does occur to me that at 10mm scale (1/200) you can probably fit a 100m ish spaceship on a 60x60cm board (2'x2'), use two of such boards with 100m ish spaceships, you can have them and their crews duke it out, boarding parties and gunnery, add a third (making it 60x180 or 2'x6') and you might be able to have some fighter action in-between them

A letter to Metal Core Collectables:
MCC is one of my favorite Mecha Mini producers of all time. While Catalyst and Macros were going monopose plastic MCC went the opposite direction with modular mechs and tanks that were designed for magnetisation with lots of options and posability
And if for some reason you need more options MCC has variant packs that you can use to make different models of the same mech
And they don't limit each other to mechs. MCCs vehicles are all wonderfully options with tons of options. I honestly don't think anyone does them better.
And when folks complained about international shipping they added STLs to their store with a legendary STL sampler set with four units with four variants each
And just look at the Tyrant! Just look at it! It's beautiful.
And each of their units comes with a alphastrike cards, Classic batrletech TROs and build instructions. Love them.

Hobby Update: Full Spectrum Dominance
"Security forces of the planet cracking company "Plundr" clash with the workers of the 322nd Miner's Union and their repurposed machinery."
(More pics below)
I'm fast becoming FSD's biggest fangirl. I've still got some more terrain to do as well as all 12 bases of infantry for the Union army but, unlike some other projects I've started, it's never felt like a drag.
I've enjoyed how each faction has their own distinct visual style; the Conglomerate models being sleek and futuristic while the Union models are crude and chunky, which really helps characterise them.
Well that's me done simping for tiny trucks and tanks for the day, I've got some 6mm scale lads in hi-vis jackets that need painting!

Nose art decal didn’t cooperate very much and I think it’s a matter of the irregular shape and my scaling being off, so I’m gonna have to add a regular geometric background
Tycho and MMC decals worked pretty much perfectly, though
