Icarus Part 17
Hey, guys! Just a reminder after I post Caged Bird on Saturday I am going on a two week posting hiatus. I need the break and my backlog could use the boost. I will start posting again on Sept 1st.
I'm not sure if I'll keep the four days like I have been doing or go back to the three days a week. I guess we'll see.
In this we have Eddie messing around with his friends and we get to see The Fallen's new costumes.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12 Part 13 Part 14 Part 15 Part 16
~
Steve and Spence pulled on the red polos with white medical crosses on the sleeves and MEDIC emblazoned on the back that would mark them as medical personnel. Simon was pulling on the dark blue polo that would signify him as a roadie for the band The Fallen. Shane and Robin stood off to the side wearing regular clothes but with lanyards that said they were PAs to the band.
Steve knocked the trailer’s door and Hopper opened it to let them out. Steve poked his head out and saw that no one was around. He nodded to Hopper and the rest of the band filed out.
“All right,” Robin said, checking her clipboard, “sound check is at four and we are after Corroded Coffin does their sound check. Eddie says he can distract the rest of his band long enough for you to get changed into daily wear.”
The band all nodded and they all went their separate ways. Steve and Spence went to the medic tent, Robin and Shane went to do what PAs do and that’s run around making sure everything was going well, and Simon went to join the the rest of the crew setting up.
Eddie was leaning against one of the pillars backstage watching them work. Jeff came up to him and threw an arm around his shoulders.
“They’re pretty flawless at this, aren’t they?” he said, after looking around to make sure no one was in earshot. “If I didn’t know what I know, I would have never thought they were anything other than their roles.”
Eddie nodded. It was seamless; as themselves they were peppy and cheerful. The guys he’d seen at party after party at Steve’s apartment. But he still remembered how they were on stage and they were so completely different.
“That security guy they got is certainly worth whatever they are paying him, that’s for sure,” he agreed.
“Gareth is vibrating out of his skin to see their sound check,” Jeff said with a nod. “Not even to see their new costumes, just their sound check, that’s how over the moon he is about this.”
Eddie hummed in agreement. “He’s in for a treat, that’s for sure.”
“Have you seen their new costumes?” Jeff asked, eyes still on the hive of activity in front of them.
“Nope!” Eddie said popping the P. “All I know is that they were designed by the daughter of their head of security. Apparently Ellie Hopper is an up and coming fashion designer and who better to clothe an up and coming metal band than her?”
Jeff rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “I guess all of us are going to be in for a surprise tonight.” He patted his friend on the shoulder. “Do try to keep it in your pants, yeah?”
Eddie pushed him off of him with a “Fuck off!”
“Dustin still pissed he missed meeting her when they were in California?” Jeff asked, giggling.
Eddie grinned and bounced on the balls of his feet, shoving his hands into his pockets. “Yup!” he said cheerfully. “It was hilarious. All of Steve’s friends were talking about how awesome she was and how beautiful she was all the while Dustin is like in the middle of battlefield, but as predicted Suzie’s parents didn’t want them sharing the same room. So he was fighting with her parents and she was fighting with him for fighting with her parents.”
He pursed his lips to try and hide his smile but it was fruitless and he broke out into a wide grin. “He didn’t even last the month with them.”
“And then by the time he’d made it to Cali,” Jeff said, “she was back in New York preparing for New York Fashion week and was completely devastated he missed her.”
Chrissy came bounding up to them. “Hey, guys. They have everything ready for your sound check and Gare and Bri are waiting for you.”
Eddie and Jeff plugged in their guitars and Eddie hit the first note. He adjusted the peg and then hit it again, this time he nodded. He went through the solo on their latest single to warm up. Then each of the other members did the same.
“Sounding pretty good!” Chrissy called from the front row.
She started shouting suggestions and then they all played together and she shouted more suggestions. Soon their sound check was over with and they filed off the stage to let The Fallen’s roadies to set up their instruments.
The Fallen came out in what Eddie called their casual costumes. Regular hoodies and jeans in their ‘color’ and their masks.
Azrael counted off time on his drumsticks and they got down to business. Gareth was on the sidelines practically drooling. Eddie thought he would be panting after Abbadon, his favorite, but after seeing Azrael’s drum kit, it was all over.
The black metal fittings, the void black on the tops and front of the drums and glittering black on the sides. His setup. The way he looked like a god even in the back, sitting on the throne, black drumsticks in hand.
Gareth starting pawing on Eddie’s arm. “Eddie, Eddie, Eddie...” he whined. “I want one.”
Eddie raised an eyebrow at his friend. “The drummer or the kit?”
Gareth turned to him scandalized. He put his hand on his chest, eyes wide, gasping in shock. “How dare you imply that I am anything but a staunch professional?!”
“So definitely the drummer then.”
Eddie cackled as he ran from Gareth who chased him all the way to their tour bus. Eddie ducked inside and locked the door behind him. He didn’t mind missing this sound check, after all they had a whole on the road and roughly eighty shows to get through.
Both bands were out promoting new albums and being two of the biggest metal bands at the moment, made both labels push for as many dates as they could conceivably do without killing either band.
It was going to be long and exhausting, but holy fuck it’d one hell of a ride. Eddie smiled as he held door shut as Gareth tugged and tugged on the door handle.
~
Steve rolled his shoulders and began warming up his voice. The crowd was bigger than they were used to but he knew that at least a good portion of those fans were there to see him and his boys.
They got strapped into the winged harnesses, specially fitted to work with their new costumes.
Steve gave Spence a thumbs up and the other man returned it. They began lowering Azrael onto the stage. His raven wings glinting blue in the spotlight. His new costume had the sleeves of his hooded long coat removed, leaving him with more range of motion. He wore a long-sleeved black mesh shirt that ended at his black leather gloves. He wore black cargo pants tucked into combat boots. The boots and his belt had silver skulls that glinted and winked at the audience.
He landed deftly a couple of feet behind the drum kit. He tugged on the release cord and sent the wings back to the rafters. He sat down and pulled out a couple of his sticks and launched into his drum solo. The crowd started screaming as the announced his name.
Next was Shane. He rolled his shoulders, trying to get comfortable in the harness. Even though the dragonfly wings were lighter than the others, they were more awkward in their construction. He gave Steve the thumbs up and he was lowered to the stage with his bass guitar. He began playing as soon as he came into view.
The crowd roared its approval.
Astraeus landed on the stage soft as a butterfly’s wing. He pulled on the release cord and allowed his wings to go back to where they came.
The sleeves of his hooded jacket were pushed up to his elbows to show his painted arms. They were the same midnight blue of the rest of his costume. His tight leather pants were tucked into his knee-high boots. His chest was bare and painted blue with glitter swirling around into galaxies. When he moved the mask shifted between the moon phases.
Then it was Simon’s turn. Steve watched as Simon slipped into the persona of Asmodeus like an ill-fitting glove. It was always harder for Simon than the rest of them to get into his alter ego. But he chose it and he had to live with the consequences of being a sex god.
He was wearing a short, red, leather jacket with the hood attached. His broad chest on display with leather harness drawing attention to all the right curves. His red jeans were torn up from his knees to his hips and shoved into mid-calf high boots with chains on them, the jacket, and around his neck.
His large red bat wings spread out behind him as he was lowered on the stage. About two feet from the ground, he pulled the release cord and stomped to onto the stage to roaring applause.
Asmodeus wailed on his guitar making it screech and sing as his wings ascended back to the rafters. His fingers danced over the fret board and threw his hand back with reckless abandon.
Steve loved this part. He loved the roar of the crowd, the music his band was playing all for him. Robin would say that it was because his parents didn’t love him much and that he never had real friends before her, before his band. Children and boys he had a crush on for years didn’t count.
But he didn’t care. He loved being loved. More than anything.
He wore a white lace bodice under his long hooded coat, and like Astraeus his sleeves were pushed up, but his forearms were bare. The shorts he wore were obscenely tight on his ass and left little to the imagination. His white high heeled boots came just above his knee, leaving miles of his thighs on display.
Today his coat lining wasn’t red or blue or even black, like it usually was when he started off a tour. No. Not today. Today it was the Corroded Coffin logo. And when his coat billowed out as he descended the crowd went absolutely insane.
Half way down, the air tanks on his back set off and blew off the feathers on his wings leaving behind the bones. He landed on the stage behind the microphone. It was like Steve Tyler’s microphone as it was decorated in ribbons, but unlike his, Abbadon’s mic never changed. It always had four ribbons. Red, blue, black, and white, woven together up the stand to billow out around the top.
He welcomed the crowd and launched into the first single off their new album. “Hell’s Where All My Friends Are Going!” It spoke about growing up bisexual in a highly conservative household where he was told that queer folk were going to hell.
It was actually one of the first piece of writing Shane and Spence ever turned into a song, but the label was afraid of alienating their audience straight of out of the gate, so it was never recorded. But when they brought Bob in, him and Robin managed to convince the label that not only would Abbadon and Astraeus coming would be good for business, it would be great for the band, too. One less thing to hide.
Remarkably the label agreed.
And now he was going to debut it here to the whole world and he felt like he was flying free for the first time in his life.
Heaven could fuck off, he was diving into Hell!

Ok, so movies you watched as a kid?
Run-down time
Major spoilers for certain movies so I'll cut
BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA
I loved this movie, and still do. Delgado's character is *chef's kiss*. I think the first movie is better than the sequels. The human cast for the first one was great but they changed the cast for the second movie.
Aunt's niece stays to dogsit for her rich aunt while she's in Europe. Rachel takes the dog with her and her friends to Mexico. Chloe is dognapped. Brought to the dog fights. Introducing Delgado's character. Depressed middle-aged brooding ex-cop. Opens the cage(though if he could do that why didn't he do it a long time ago??). Saves Chloe from el Diablo (the Doberman) but not before letting all the other dogs escape. Carries Chloe -scales barbed wire fence and hauls over it- in what can only be described as the coolest dog move ever. A roller coaster of emotions and then El Diablo finds Chloe and Delgado helps her hide in a museum until they're clear and he takes her to a pier where he goes to talk with his police dog cousins. The landscaper (Sam) and Rachel(the rich woman's niece) team up to find Chloe, and end up finding homes for two strays from the dogfights. THE TRAIN SCENE. Delgado takes Chloe to a train yard where they meet a coyote. No, seriously I love the detail where the coyote is a literal coyote. Delgado puts Chloe on the train and tells her he isn't coming with her. The train leaves. 'don't turn around don't turn around' *turns around* 'Delgado!' 'Chloe!' 'Delgado!' *jumps on - slips* 'Hold on, I'll pull you up' Delgado, scrabbling around trying to push himself up, 'STOP HELPING STOP HELPING' They end up jumping off the train and walking in circles in the desert. Chloe realizes Delgado has no sense of smell. Cue the backstory about how he lost it to Diablo. They're attacked by mountain lions(I'm pretty sure cougars are solitary so I'm not exactly sure why a pride/band was hunting them, I think it was just for plot reasons). THE ABSOLUTE DUSTSTORM OF CHIHUAHUAS. Love Montezuma. The Chihuahua City. Also Papi. These movies were not so vaguely racist.
The rest of the movie was great.
2. Bolt
I LOVED this one.
A TV show in a movie.
Bolt's nose is like the size of Wyoming. His superpowers are so cool. PENNY!!! (she got captured in the show) The cats. *Escapes*
STYROFOAM -- IT WEAKENS ME
Mittens.
The scene where he runs straight into a fence.
The pigeons helping him.
No, you got to twist, then pull.
I can confirm this is a method I use for stuck things all the time and it does work.
Where he gets the leash stuck around him and Mittens. *Holds mittens over the side of a highway* Another great train scene.
Jumps out the back of a truck.
'What is this red liquid oozing out of my paw?'
'It's blood, you idiot'
*Stomach growls*
'You evil agent of the green-eyed man poisoned me, where is the antidote?!!'
*Brings him to a campground/Trailer park/cookout* 'There's your antidote' (it's food)
Mittens has to teach him how to beg.
RHINO (I love him)
The journey scene was amazing.
The carboard boxes.
The song.
The trailer.
Playing with the labrador.
Dude when they get captured by animal control.
They literally blew up the pound.
When Bolt gets to Hollywood and thinks Penny replaced him.
Mittens going to 'get back in there'
The fire scene
twas perfection.
The mom quits and throws the agent out of the ambulance.
And then domestic life.
'I thought I lost you when you ran away and tried to find me'
3. Moana.
absolute bops
4. THE AIR BUDDIES MOVIES
My favorite characters were Rosebud and Mudbud
5. Shark boy and Lava Girl
6. Spy Kids
7. Homeward Bound
8. Balto
9. Call of the wild
10. A dog's purpose
Literally the only time I ever cried during a movie was when the dog got shot protecting the little girl as a police dog
11. Any one else remember Dolphin Tail (was it tale?)
12. HTTYD
13. White fang (the animated one with the golden brown wolf put in the dog fights)
14. SPIRIT stallion of the cimarron
One of the greatest masterpieces
15. My Little Pony the movie
(the one with the storm king and tempest and sia lol)
I'll probably update this list later.
More recent movies
Spies in Disguise
Encanto
Again I'm probably going to update this as I remember them
I'll also probably do one of these for shows

source on Flint?
The dirt.
Tumblr media
Okay, joke answer aside, I'll put the source under the cut...
I'm going to assume that you're likely referring to the fun fact tidbit that I posted yesterday about Flint originally intended to be involved in the Jealous Bass boss fight.
The Cutting Room Floor has an archive of stuff that was cut from Mother 3 but still exists as data within the game. If you scroll down to Flint, you'll see that he has unused sprites for dodging the train, which is an event that happens in chapter 4.
Tumblr media
And if you put Flint into your party as the second party member in debug mode then go to the train, he will dodge the train with that sprite animation. Compare that to Claus, who when programmed to be the second party member, does dodge the train like intended (and Boney, as the third party member, does not) but does not display the proper animation for this motion, we can see that while the behavior of jumping out of the way is programmed into the second party member, they only have the proper sprite for the scene if they're supposed to be there. This tells us that Flint was supposed to be involved in Chapter 4, at least up until the train, but was cut late into development. The only thing that stops Flint from jumping out of the way is the fact that he isn't there.
We also have a cut animation of what appears to be Flint clinging onto the airship, which is what Lucas and the rest of his party does at the end of chapter 5. Now, can I say with absolute certainty that this is what this animation is intended for? No, because I wasn't on the development team. But considering how closely that sprite of Flint resembles the rest of the party in that scene:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
And how close Chapters 4 and 5 are to each other, as well as how the Spaceworld (1999) Earthbound 64 trailer* (apologies for the blurriness, but TCRF does have a clearer image of this scene on their website) does show Flint, along with Lucas, Claus, Duster, and Boney clinging to an airship, it's easy to deduce that's it's highly likely that Flint was intended to be in the party at least up until the party separation at the end of Chapter 5.
Also, so no one could say that that animation of Flint was actually supposed to be for Chapter 7 when Lucas and company were clinging onto the bird cage, here's a screenshot of that. You can see that if Flint was involved here, his animation would've had him hanging on from the wrong direction (apologies for the Lucas mooning).
Tumblr media
[Also as a small aside: while not exactly evidence on its own but something worth pointing out, there is a notable difficulty spike in Chapter 4 when there's only Lucas and Boney in the party. The enemies at this point in the game the can wipe your party quite easily if you're not careful, and I always struggled against them even in the standard mode and I'm sure I'm not the only person who experienced this (while the game tells you not to mess with the Cattlesnakes, there's nothing to stop the Horsantulas and Ostrelephants from running right at you and initiating a battle). Having a heavy hitter in your party like Flint would've made the chimeras outside of Club Titiboo as well as the Jealous Bass easier. Again though, I'm not going to use my experiences as evidence because it could just be that I'm not good at the game.]
So, we have a timeframe that says that Flint was supposed to be in the party from around the beginning of Chapter 4 to at least the end of Chapter 5, which is well within the timeframe that the Jealous Bass boss fight occurs. Now, of course, just because there's evidence that Flint was supposed to be in the party for Chapters 4 and 5 doesn't mean that he would've been involved in the Jealous Bass boss fight with a 100% certainty. Flint could've been rendered incapable of participating in the attic dungeon (and, subsequently, that fight) for one reason or another. Maybe he gets locked in the bathroom while showering? Who knows? While it would've been an odd story direction, I wasn't the one making those sorts of decisions, so I can't say with absolute unshakable faith that he was going to be there. And for that, I apologize. I have changed the wording of that post a bit so it's a bit more ambiguous. There's nothing I can do for versions that have been reblogged unfortunately, but at least the base post reflects that. But there's at least enough evidence to prove that this is likely what was intended to happen.
* While I do not consider Earthbound 64 and Mother 3 the same games, it's undeniable that Earthbound 64 did lay the grounds for the direction that Mother 3 went in. If the only piece of evidence I had for Flint clinging to the airship was from that trailer alone, I would not have used it.

Bring on Kang...
3. John Wick: Chapter 4 (Chad Stahelski) – 3.24.23
I’ll never not be excited to see Keanu kill the shit out of people.
4. Renfield (Chris McKay) – 4.14.23
Nic Cage as Dracula... I repeat, Nic Cage as Dracula!!
5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (James Gunn) – 5.5.23

6. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Dos Santos, Powers & Thompson) – 6.2.23
Haaaaaave you seen the first one?!?
7. Asteroid City (Wes Anderson) – 6.23.23
Wes is one of my very favorite directors. Enough Said.

9. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One (Christopher McQuarrie) – 7.14.23
Cruise can do no wrong... until he does... but even then the footage of his death will be a fucking blockbuster, and all his fans will give him the exact sendoff he’s apparently begging for. Can’t wait to see how he almost dies, this time.
10. Oppenheimer (Christopher Nolan) – 7.21.23
So very excited to see Nolan take on something more dramatic... plus, look at that cast!!!
PHOTO THREE:
11. Barbie (Greta Gerwig) – 7.21.23

12. Dune: Part Two (Denis Villeneuve) – 11.3.23
The first felt too unfinished to not be excited to see where Villeneuve brings it next.
13. Wonka (Paul King) – 12.15.23
Really couldn’t care less about Chalamet, and this project is totally unnecessary. But... I’m a die-hard Roald Dahl fan, and this is directed by the man who gave us Paddington 2, so... yeah.
14. Killers of the Flower Moon (Martin Scorsese) – TBD
C’mon... It’s Scorsese!
15. The Killer (David Fincher) – TBD
C’mon... It’s Fincher!
PHOTO FOUR:
16. Napoleon (Ridley Scott) – TBD
I love Ridley Scott... and Joaquin Phoenix looks like he’s going to murder this role.

The theatre geek living deep down within me is enough reason. But then I also want to see if A Star Is Born was a fluke.
18. Ferrari (Michael Mann) – TBD
Michael Mann directing a movie about Enzo Ferrari starring Adam Driver... why aren’t you excited about it?!?
19. Beau Is Afraid (Ari Aster) – TBD
No clue what we’re in for... but I’m certain it’s going to fuck me up for a week or two.
20. Peter Pan & Wendy (David Lowery) – TBD
David Lowery... enough said. I mean, seriously, have you seen A Ghost Story or Pete’s Dragon?!?
PHOTO FIVE:
21. Lee (Ellen Kuras) – TBD
If Kate Winslet wasn’t enough... well, it is... it really is.
22. Blitz (Steve McQueen) – TBD

Thankfully, this didn't last very long, but like most things, when one thing happens, another bad happens, which would be the extermination. The holy kataba was what helped him survive the monsters. AEW Full Gear 2022 - Review
Tumblr media
Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting, but also sleeping, and thus I opted to get one last good sleep before I have to get ready for returning to work...it didn't work so well XD
Nevertheless, now it's time to catch up with Full Gear. 10 matches on the main card filled with in-ring debuts, bitter rivalries and 7 titles on the line. Let's see how it went
Spoilers for the PPV
The Buy-In
Best Friends, Rocky Romero & Danhausen def The Factory (QT Marshall, Lee Johnson, Cole Karter, Nick Comoroto & Aaron Solo) [Pinfall by Danhausen on Comoroto via Big Boot] The babyfaces interestingly started without their 'Very Mysterious, Very Evil' partner but the tag synergy of Best Friends/Roppongi Vice held the early advantage over QT and his rookies. QT's experience did allow openings for the Factory to have brief moments of number advantages, including QT catching the Orange Punch with a Diamond Cutter, but when he attempted a steps piledriver Danhausen came out with the jar of teeth, outwrestling the Factory members up to Nicky C, who ate an Orange Punch, was fed the jar of teeth and then hit with the big boot for the 3. QT tried to escape but was hit with the spike by Danhausen. A nice pre-show opener to unveil Danhausen's Very Evil side, probably would've had QT take the pin if I were booking it but it was some nice fun. One does have to continually worry about the Factory, not only do they now have a size of at least 6 members (remember Anthony Ogogo is a part of them, Blake Li is a question mark now) but they lack firm direction, which can be a negative for the likes of Lee and Comoroto, they may need repackaging and downsizing.
Post-Match latest AEW recruit Konosuke Takeshita was interviewed by Renee, Beloved Cinnabon Man basically sad he's happy to be here, more a 'in case you missed it' kinda thing.
World Championship No.1 Contender Eliminator Semi-Final Ricky Starks def. Brian Cage (w/Prince Nana) [Pinfall via Roshambo] Ethan Page joined commentary to scout his opponents as Cage immediately went for the weakened Ricky. Page was very focused and intelligent on commentary, noting how he wants his opponents to wear each other out but he only cares about fighting Mox or Max. Naturally, the Machine used his monster strength to further damage Ricky's ribs, back and neck but it's Ricky's quickness and counter-wrestling that kept Cage on his toes. After kicking out of a Spear from Ricky but failing to beat him with a Discus Lariat, Cage went for an Elbow Drop but missed, Ricky tried the Roshambo but was overpowered into an F-5 position, but countered it into a Canadian Destroyer, a labored Roshambo finished Cage and books the desired outcome of Ricky vs Ethan - delayed however to be fought on Dynamite due to Ricky's legit injury last week. It was a good match, maybe could've gone a bit longer but given how there was a desired outcome they also didn't drag out Ricky fighting from underneath.
Fight Forever's trailer was aired after the match, followed by the promo package and an Eddie interview, Eddie was all jitters and butterflies about facing his hero, further selling his mindset on his personal dream match.
Eddie Kingston def Jun Akiyama [Pinfall via Uraken] The Buy-In Main Event started scrappy with both men trying to get the early advantage, the trade in chops and forearms get things further into the King's Road style. Akiyama got a lot of offense with a guillotine knee drop on the apron, a spike piledriver, a curb stomp and a running knee but Eddie hit back with an Avalanche Brainbuster, back and forth they went trading moves, Akiyama kicked out of the Uraken but Eddie kicked out of an exposed running knee, Eddie got the win with a Northern Lights Bomb and following up with a second Uraken to put the legend down. Very emotional, Eddie showed his respect to Akiyama who shook hands, when given the ring he embraced Ortiz and thanked the crowd, Akiyama, King's Road Style and all the past Japanese legends who aren't with us anymore, before telling the audience to 'buy the damn pay per view' in his classic tongue-in-cheek manner. It's a good match enhanced by Eddie's visible emotion and passion, they should've just let him run down the card - I mean he almost did - I probably preferred the Ishii match from a wrestling standpoint but frankly I'm just happy Eddie's happy.
The steel cage lowered to telegraph what the opener would be as Jim Ross joins commentary.
Main Card
Steel Cage Match 'Jungle Boy' Jack Perry def. Luchasaurus (w/Christian Cage) [Submission via Snare Trap] A battle between tag partners in the same arena they struck gold, Jungly Jim came in quietly and focused, shutting the cage door behind him as he faced the Dark Dino-Man. Jack's athleticism and Luchasaurus' power were both positions of advantage in the cage, but Jack was busted early by a lawn dart, Cage making sure to mock Perry from outside the cage. Jack was almost sent to the shadow realm after his rebound clothesline was shrugged off and he was thrown a fifth time into the cage wall, almost being caught in between. Christian however pulled a pickpocket by stealing the keys to the cage, unlocking the door just before Mike Posey got security to drag him out, Luchasaurus' attempts to save him were cut short by Jack, but he ate a slingshot into the cage's outer wall. Out came the table, and the chairs, JB got an advantage hitting a Destroyer for 1 and a Killswitch on the chair for 2, but Luchasaurus hit a Chokeslam on the chair for 2 also. After an Avalanche Sliced Bread, Luchasaurus did the sit up, but so did JB, Jack's refusal to stay down unleashed a babyface rally and a piledriver for 2. Luchasaurus though again hit back, a Tombstone and his swinging Tombstone facebuster only good for 2, he tried to powerslam JB through the table but Jack went into a sleeper, cracked his partner with a chair shot to keep him laid on the table and scaled the top of the cage for an elbow drop, after locking the snare trap, Luchasaurus tapped out. After climbing out the cage Jack embraced his mother and sister before leaving.
I have to say it, AEW Cage Matches > WWE Cage Matches. Compare this to Drew vs Kross and there's no contest, just shows how much more intensity can come by eliminating the 'escape cage finish' options. JB and Luchasaurus pulled off a wonderful 'irresistible force vs immovable object' battle as Jack's relentless babyface energy once again pulls out a banger from the underrated pillar. Take nothing away from the big man either, he was a great mountainous adversary for Jack, though I do think we lacked comeuppance for Christian, I did feel like him stealing the keys was gonna go somewhere more, but I'm sure the two will eventually collide in the future.
AEW Trios Championship Death Triangle (c) (w/Alex Abrahantes) def The Elite (w/Don Callis, Brandon Cutler & MT Nakazawa) [Pinfall on Omega by Fénix via Hammer-assisted Roll-up] Penta back in Joker mode (without his vest) while Fénix was en fuego, PAC was of course PAC. But everyone was awaiting the Elite's return, who came to Kansas' Carry On My Wayward Son to a big ovation. Callis joined commentary as PAC and Kenny began the fight, the Jersey fans erupting in 'Fuck him up' and 'Colt Cabana' chants. PAC and Kenny did roll back their earlier feud with PAC flipping out the Kotaro Crusher and spitting in the face of the Best Bout Machine, so the tag went to the Flipshow Nick vs Fénix and Power Brothers Matt vs Penta. I needn't tell you that Lucha Bros vs Young Bucks went exactly how you'd expect it to, the back and forth concluding with all of Death Triangle eating superkicks, the Elite pulled the playbook with Nick being given a cola? by the audience, but PAC intercepted a You Can't Escape to put the champions back in position. It became very clear that PAC would be central to the finish, with him continually antagonizing Kenny, but Nick got a slight in the match too hitting Punk's rising knee/bulldog combo. Matt murdered Fénix with a leaping apron DDT while Nick super hurricanrana'd Penta into the group of Elite and DT members, leaving PAC and Kenny in the ring, the Bucks recovered to attempt a Superkick Tombstone combo but DT came in and spiked them all with a triple Tombstone (every time someone hits a Tombstone Undertake gets a nickel). DT almost had it with a splash to Kenny, classic step-over destroyer to Matt, rolling cutter to Nick and then PAC hitting the Black Arrow/Brutalizer combo on Kenny but the submission was broken up.
The ring hammer came in though with PAC throwing it to Fénix while Penta had Bryce distracted, but once more Fénix refused, eating a V-Trigger for his troubles, Tiger Driver 98 was only good for 2. Trios BTE trigger broken up by PAC, who prepped to clock Kenny with the hammer but was blindsided by Nick's superkick. After hitting Fénix with a V-Trigger, Kenny was unable to see PAC hand his partner the hammer once more, who clocked Kenny while up in the OWA position to roll up Omega, retain the titles and spoil the Elite's return...and it was magnificent. Honestly the heat is gonna be fantastic for this because heel Lucha Bros are great too, even if Fénix feels dirty by it right now, I knew the hammer would come into play but I was thinking it'd be a DQ. I was surprised the House of Black did not show up though. The match unsurprisingly was great, and swerving the crowd will further both teams' direction.
TBS Championship Jade Cargill (c) (w/Kiera Hogan & Leila Grey) def Nyla Rose ('c') (w/Vickie Guerrero & Marina Shafir) [pinfall via Jaded] Nyla continues to endear herself to me by coming out in an Eddie Guererro-esque low rider, Vickie sporting the 'I'm Your Papi' shirt too. Lord though, Jade sporting the Cheetara from Thundercats gear, Jade does not miss when it comes to gear (I'm sorry but if you're not seeing this you cannot tell me to contain my thirst, I am not strong enough for this). Nyla went for the Baddies first though which allowed Jade to enact her aggression on Rose, including a pump kick over the barricade. Nyla hit Jade into the steps to regain the advantage, scouting much of Jade's trademark offense and hitting the Beast Knee. Jade hit back with a sit out powerbomb of her own for 2 and managed to counter Nyla's scrappy attempt to roll out of the Jaded, she ended up eating her own finisher for 2, but the true TBS Champ got the win thanks to avoiding Nyla's Swanton, allowing her to nail the Pump Kick and Jaded, 42 and 0.
I think that may've been Jade's best match so far, a proper physical challenge for the champion. Give nothing away from Nyla too, her physicality was a great match for Jade but her antics to help build this match has been great, Nyla being a hilarious tweener is her best position.
ROH World Championship Chris Jericho (c) def. Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli & Sammy Guevara [Pinfall on Castagnoli via Judas Effect] Ian Ribacconi joined commentary for ROH representation. Sammy's entrance gear was...a thing, like devil cape with SG on the straps makes sense but it also kinda looked like the Borat swimsuit, Jericho's bedazzled shirt was clean though. Naturally the match started with BCC vs JAS, Claudio facing Jericho and Bryan facing Sammy. The BCC managed to dispose of the JAS leaving both alone in the ring, a lingering handshake foretelling that the two were set to exchange blows. Jericho intercepted Bryan and Claudio's clinic but ate a flapjack and double crab, but Sammy hit a flying cutter on both men. Le Sex Gods then divided and conquered the BCC members, aiming for Danielson's injured eye like they did on Dynamite. A little tension though as Jericho had Sammy stand by as he pinned Danielson for 2, Danielson though rallied in Danielson fashion, raining kicks on Jericho and Guevara, but Sammy's athleticism evaded him enough to hit a Spanish Fly, which led to Jericho pouncing with a Lionsault. Claudio gutwrenched back into the match but ate a Codebreaker, which Sammy then broke up! Allegiances became damned as Guevara fought Jericho, hitting his own Codebreaker for 2, but he ended up in the Walls, Danielson tried to dropkick him but ended up in the walls too. Jericho was unrelenting in the hold against Claudio's big boots, but a suplex broke the hold and put Jericho in a Sharpshooter - which he had tapped to on Dynamite - wily, the Ocho crawled to pin Danielson in front of him, but ended up being locked in a LeBell Lock as well, saved by Sammy's superkicks. Sammy helped Jericho up and embraced him, but he maintained wrist control when the hug broke, landing a GTH and a Shooting Star Press for 2. Sammy Hammer and Anvil'd Danielson but it was no sold by the American Dragon, who had Claudio gorilla press Sammy out the ring into Jericho, only for Claudio to eat the Buisaku Knee for 2. Hammer and Anvil was exchanged between the two BCC members, exchanging nearfalls, as they tussled on the turnbuckle Sammy went double time with a cutter on Claudio and then a Super Spanish Fly on Danielson, but Danielson got him into a LeBell Lock, Jericho breaks the hold, Claudio then becomes the Tour de Force; uppercuts to Jericho against the barricades, he catches Danielson's knee and hits a Gotch Neutralizer outside the ring, Sammy hits the Shooting Star but his second dive is caught into a Pop-Up Uppercut for 2, Sammy uses the ropes to try and roll up Claudio for 2 but ends up in a Swing, Jericho then dives in with a Judas Effect on the swinging Sammy, and then another on Claudio to retain.
A great match again, hate Sammy for his personality but god did he wrestle out of his skin tonight. Claudio, Jericho and Danielson are once more fantastic, though I'm surprised we went for Jericho pinning Claudio again, especially without shenaniganry or a surprise Final Battle opponent showing themselves. Nevertheless, you rarely bet against the heel champion in the multi-man.
Saraya def Dr Britt Baker DMD [Pinfall via Ram-Paige x2] With her brother Zak Zodiac identified in the crowd, Saraya made an emotional return to the ring. Baker intentionally arrived alone, intent on making a point. Chants of 'welcome back' rung in the crowd as the two women locked up, though Saraya acted tender to her neck. Britt honed in on the neck with a neckbreaker to the outside, before mocking Zak who cheered his sister on. In control, Baker continued to act confidently, preparing the glove early, but her frustration with Saraya was palpable also, who kept firing back - a crossbody to the outside gave the former Anti-Diva the rally, Baker did hit the turnbuckle facebuster but also ate a Paige-Turner for 2, Baker hit an Air Raid Crash and a Curb Stomp for 2 also having failed to get the Lockjaw fully cinched. At the turnbuckle, Baker's Avalanche Air Raid Crash was countered into a Sunset Powerbomb and a Ram-Paige (I dunno what the Saraya-names are for this) for 2, but she escaped the Cloverleaf to ram Saraya into the turnbuckle pad and get the Lockjaw, both exchanged Crucifix Pins for 2 but Saraya came out on the advantage with a thrust kick and running knee. DMD hit a ripcord forearm and her own Paige-Turner and Curb Stomp for another 2, but her next Air Raid Crash attempt was reversed into a Knee Strike and two Ram-Paiges for the win. Afterwards Saraya embraced her brother before departing.
This was a good match, the crowd however hurt it. I dunno why but they seemed kinda gassed, maybe it was an energy dip due to the quality of the prior matches but the lack of energy did make it feel less impactful of a match, which is a shame because both women worked really well. Saraya had a bit of ring rust which is passable given how long it's been, her running knee perhaps needs a bit more theatrics to it because sometimes it looks a tad messy plus we need to know the non-WWE names of her finishers, but this is a starting point for Saraya, hopefully we can see her shake off the cobwebs and even go beyond the level she was before.
TNT Championship Samoa Joe def Wardlow (c) & Powerhouse Hobbs [Submission on Hobbs via Coquina Clutch] - NEW CHAMPION! Our Triple Beef Barbecue began with Wardlow releasing frustrations on Joe, which allowed Hobbs to take advantage. Hobbs held the early advantage being able to fend off Joe's attacks when interrupted, but Wardlow roared back with a moonsault on both his opponents, Hobbs was tendered by a Swanton by Wardlow and an Elbow Drop by Joe, the Samoan Submission Machine taking advantage next with his classic offense. Beef continued to slap outside of the ring with each men trading advantage, Wardlow kicked out of the Hobbs Spinebuster, so Wardlow started hitting the Powerbomb Symphony, Joe however snuck in, hitting Wardlow with the TNT title and getting a dazed Hobbs in the Coquina Clutch for the win.
It was as advertised, but also I have to say I enjoyed this the least so far. It was way too short for one but I also felt that Joe didn't need the win, you know who did need the win? Powerhouse Hobbs. Hobbs was coming back from losing to Ricky after all, giving him the TNT Championship would've helped elevate him while Joe and Wardlow fought over the ROH TV title, instead he took the fall and Joe's a double champion. Now I get it, we all like Joe, but you did pick the oldest dude in the match to hold 2 championships while the two bright and young talents get nothing, Hobbs hasn't touched gold and this was kinda the perfect time for it, so it was a let down.
Post-match Jericho praises Sammy's competitive spirit, only to be met by Orange Cassidy and Danhausen. Neither are his challenger though, on Wednesday the Ocho will be challenged by the Stone Pitbull, Jericho vs Ishii. Hager and his Hat also is gonna face OC for the All-Atlantic Title.
No DQ Sting & Darby Allin def. Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett (w/Sonjay Dutt & Satnam Singh) [Pinfall on Lethal by Allin via Coffin Drop] Ric Flair's last match without Ric Flair, Jarrett came out with some Sting-mask goons as well, which is often a bad strategy. A Body bag was left on the ramp to bait Lethal and the Sting Goons as Darby charged out with a skateboard to lay them out, Sting meanwhile appeared behind Jarrett in the ring. Lethal did return in time to divide the fights between Sting/Lethal and Darby/Jarrett around the crowd. Darby got out a ladder to coffin drop Jarrett but was caught like a baby by Satnam Singh before being dumped on the ramp. Singh caught Lethal before he was dumped out too, but Sting dived from the crowd to down the giant, erstwhile Jarrett used weaponry to punish Darby. Back in the ring it suddenly just turned into a 'with rules' tag match, since there are legal tags (I mean what's the ref gonna do?) Sting hit the hot tag to Stinger Splash both men and lock Jarrett in the Scorpion Deathlock, Sonjay tried to break the hold and failed, so Satnam shoved him aside and chokeslammed the Icon. Lethal and Darby fought next, Lethal catching a Coffin Drop and getting a Lethal Combination, Jarrett whipped out the guitar but stopped before hitting Lethal by mistake, allowing Darby to hit the flip stunner, Darby's Coffin Drop was met by the guitar shot, but Darby kipped up! Unleashing the Sting-rally that prompted Singh to come out, Sting tries a Scorpion Death Drop but cannot get the Drop part, so Darby lands the Coffin Drop on him too, smashing Jarrett with a suicide dive as Sting catches Lethal's Lethal Injection with a Scorpion Death Drop. Since Sting was either winded or not legal, Darby finished the match with a Coffin Drop.
If you want a chaotic fun tag match, you call Sting and Darby. It's a great Palate Cleanser I must admit, it might not always feel like it belongs but it's entertaining, and it does remove the TNT bad taste. Where it goes from here is a bit of a down because it doesn't really advance anything but the result is the right call, Satnam Singh also deserves credit for his role in the match.
AEW Interim Women's Championship Jamie Hayter def. Toni Storm (c) [pinfall via Hayterade] - NEW CHAMPION! I do really wish that we made Toni the official world champion, like it wouldn't have hurt Rosa to appear backstage and call Toni the de facto world champ, she's held it long enough. Regardless, Hayter appeared alone just as Baker did, highlighting the support the crowd had for her. The women started with their technical prowess, narrowly avoiding the other's finishers. Hayter ate the ring post while Toni hurt her hand chopping it, but the weakness activated Hayter's aggression, swinging Toni into barricades, turnbuckles and into the mat, exerting her physical dominance over her former friend. Toni struck back with a Thesz Press, Hip Attack and Crossbody for two, falling into her common strategy of using DDTs, a headbutt led to Toni falling on Hayter for 2 which prompted Rebel to come out. Seemingly unbeknownst to Hayter, Rebel cracked a rope-prone Toni with the belt, leading to an Ushigoroshi and a sliding Lariat for two, when Rebel protested though Hayter was disappointed by her inclusion, but watched on as Rebel was kicked out. Toni reversed the Hayterade (her ripcord lariat) to hit her own, she went for a hip attack but ended up out the ring, where Baker hit a curb stomp on the belt, Hayter hits the Storm Zero but it's another nearfall! Now it seems like Hayter was in on the plan, but her Hayterade misses again for a Half-and-Half and a Storm Zero for 2, she goes for the Texas Cloverleaf but decides to swipe at Baker on the apron, causing Hayter to hit back with her Backbreaker for 2. As Hayter attacks Toni in one corner, Baker attempts to remove the turnbuckle pad on the other, but collides with Hayter during the removal, Hayter however still throws Toni into the exposed turnbuckle dazing her enough to hit the Hayterade and get gold.
The crowd erupts for Hayter despite being a heel. Toni had a fantastic showing in demonstrating her toughness which made it a dramatic battle, however I do wish that Hayter won either clean or without knowing of Rebel and Baker's interference, Tony is right to put the belt on Hayter, striking on her popularity, but he seems to be delaying the inevitable face turn.
AEW World Tag Championships The Acclaimed (c) def Swerve in our Glory [Pinfall on Swerve by Bowens via Avalanche Falcon Arrow] Caster came out with an extended rap for the champions but they were noticeably without Daddy Ass, so sadly no Scissor Me Daddy Ass, the crowd at least kept the spirit alive. The focus once more was on Bowens' injury, this time his shoulder established on Wednesday, Lee took a nasty bump hitting his knee on the apron when clotheslined over but he was walking well, the champions focused on Swerve with a Scissor Me Timbers but the challengers continued to hone in on the injury, Swerve trying isolate Caster from Bowens. Bringing out a barricade, Swerve and Lee remained at odds over tactics, but it didn't get used for a while. Bowens got a tag after hitting a Poison Rana on Lee, but he couldn't lift the Limitless one. Bowens came in again to hit Swerve with a Facebuster/Cutter combo, but Swerve attacked the arm once more. The barricade came into play when Lee saved Swerve from being kicked into it, only to be crossbodied into it himself by Bowens. Swerve kicked out of an Arrival, catching Bowens with a Flatliner and a foursome of Swerve Kicks, when he set for the Swerve Stomp Bowens avoided it and hit the Arrival again, Bowens hit the Mic Drop but Lee broke up the pin.
Swerve avoided a team move because of the injured shoulder, allowing Lee to be tagged in and pounce both men, Fall From Glory on Bowens was only good for 2, Bowens is tagged in thanks to Caster reaching from a powerbomb position, but Lee just throws Bowens into him continually, Swerve attacks Caster and has the Pliers, which has Daddy Ass come out. In the chaos of the refs trying to eject him, Swerve passes Lee the pliers, but Lee throws it away, so Swerve slaps Lee! Incensed, Lee picks Bowens up, and leaves Swerve to fend for himself. Swerve escapes the roll up twice, including one that reverses the JML Driver, his roll up is stopped by the blind tag making him eat a dropkick, Swerve is finished though by an assisted Falcon Arrow.
It was a good match, maybe not the best of the trilogy but one that narratively sends Swerve and Lee to fight one another. You can't go too bonkers before the main event also, so it was a good match where the right people won.
Announced for Thanksgiving however was Elite vs DT again, announced now to be a Best of 7 Series! Which will go throughout the entire year including Holiday Bash and New Year's Smash.
AEW World Championship MJF def Jon Moxley (c) (w/William Regal) [Pinfall via Brass Knuckles shot] - NEW CHAMPION! I'm a little confused because my stream had no entrances, maybe something was running too long? Things started ruggedly as Moxley ensured that this would be his kind of match, MJF however popped the crowd with antics - which only further aggrieved Mox, playing the heel. Mox was whipping out submissions befitting of the BCC with STF and a Cross Armbreaker, but MJF was pulling classic wrestling, Flair's strut, Atomic Drop, Rhodes jabs, back rake etc. Out came the table but Mox came out with the Cutter and the BCC Stomps. MJF jacked his knee hitting an apron Tombstone, which allowed Moxley to hit a Piledriver through the table. MJF beats the count out but lands into a Paradigm Shift for 2, Mox then wrenches the knee with a Figure Four, Max turns though so Mox uses the rope break. Heatseeker is only good for 2, his knee prevents a second so Mox uses the Chop Block and hones in on the injury, on the turnbuckle it's hammer and anvil and an Avalanche Paradigm Shift, but MJF is saved by a rope break. Mox trades blows willingly with Max, but when he tries the Lariat Max pulls the ref in the way. He brandishes the ring, which brings out Papa Regal, telling him to not, which he does. However, Mox locks in the Bulldog Choke, Max tries to pin Moxley but he simply releases and locks in again, a second Ref Bump appears as Max visibly taps from the choke, but Regal tells Mox the ref is still down. Astonishingly, Regal passes Max the Brass Knuckles! Smacking Moxley with it for 3.
It was the right winner, but I can't say I loved that match. It kinda trudged, and although it was possible for Regal to betray BCC for Max, I never liked the option. BCC are now without the leader, which seems more of a loss than Max just faking the whole Firm betrayal like I had anticipated was the case. It wasn't a bad ending like Revolution's fizzle was, but I do feel a little deflated.
As a result, this was a really good PPV, just edged out of being great. Full Gear stumbled from being an all timer by the curious booking choice of the TNT title match and the world title finish. For the most part the direction we are going is good and this is certainly worth the price of admission, but I feel like the personal weak points diminished the feeling I have. Regardless, huge praise has to go to so many people in this show, and Moxley can finally have his well-overdue holiday as we can finally begin Max's world title era.

God Eater 3 Character Novel | Spinning Bonds: Chapter 5
Tumblr media
[image id: A novel cover. Zeke Pennywort from God Eater 3 stands with his back to the viewer, his scarf billowing in the wind. Overlaid within the scarf is an image of a young Zeke with his four brothers, smiling happily. The text, when translated into English, reads “God Eater 3 Character Novel | Chapter 4: Zeke Edition | Spinning Bonds”. /end id]
This is a fan translation. Original text here.

A few months passed after our brothers died.
We continued our journey by sneaking onto transports, traveling from base to base.
After losing our brothers, our lives had basically hit rock bottom.
Just three troublesome kids. Even if we were lucky enough to reach a settlement or a satellite base, we wouldn't be seen as reliable enough to be trusted with work, and we'd be too much of a burden to be shown kindness.
Every day, we wandered in search of food and supplies, drinking muddy water, constantly straddling the line between life and death, able to do nothing more than hold each other close.
In a situation like this, I couldn't help but remember how amazing my big brothers had been, winning over everyone they came across.
How Saul could encourage them.
How Rhys could make them laugh.
I had taken their place and tried to keep things the same as when it had been the five of us, but—
I had to be on guard at all times in order to protect my little brothers. There was no telling when someone might try to deceive us... or attack us.
The connections between people. Saul had said it was the strongest weapon one could wield, but I hadn't been able to find it.
If he and Rhys were here, I was sure they would've been able to befriend the owners of the transport we were on, and we'd use it to travel all over.
But there was no way I could do that.
"Huh...?"
At that moment, the ship suddenly stopped, even though we still had a while to go before reaching the next base.
Just as I thought that, the lid on the cargo container we were hiding in was removed. Adults in uniforms peered in at us.
"Well, well, well. We were only supposed to inspect the cargo, but look what we have here."
We were picked up and thrown into another trailer.
It was pitch-black inside, reinforced by a cage-like lattice.
"H-Hey! What are you doing?! Let us out of here!"
"Quiet down. You won't have to worry about being stowaways anymore. We'll keep you nice and safe."
The man laughed coldly. On his arm was a red armlet that brought back bad memories.
We couldn't become God Eaters.
Ever since that day, God Eaters had become a symbol of fear and death for us, even more so than the Aragami. They represented the breaking of bonds.
I'd kept us as far away from Ports as I could. What if we were captured like the kids at the base? Every time I thought about it, my big brothers' final moments came back to me.
But whether we liked it or not, more and more Ports were popping up, and all of them were in the business of rounding up kids and forcing them to become God Eaters.
In the end, we, too, were swept up by the current and ended up here.
Port Pennywort—where profit came first.
None of the guards paid any heed to my cries.
Please, let Neal and Keith go. I pleaded and begged.
They held me down with sneering smiles on their faces and made me listen to my brothers' agonized screams through the door as they were put through the aptitude test.
But still, when Keith and Neal walked back through the door, I was so relieved I started crying.
I was so grateful they were alive, that we were still connected.
After being thrown in a cell, we huddled together and wondered what laid ahead. The memory of Saul and Rhys's final moments came rushing back to me. I could feel my body tense up.
Would Neal, Keith, and I meet the same fate?
Would I have to watch my little brothers die right before my eyes?
Would Neal and Keith have to watch me die?
No way. I couldn't let that happen.
I had to be strong. I couldn't be scared. I had to survive. Survive. Survive. Survive. I had to protect Neal and Keith. No matter how strong the Aragami were, I had to fight. I... I... I-I had to—
"Yo, newbie! What's with the sad look?"
My eyes were bloodshot—probably from crying. I tried to locate the source of the voice when I suddenly felt someone hit the back of my head hard.
"Ow! What was that for?!"
A guy with a cheerful smile on his face crouched down in front of me.
"Hey there! Name's Din! I'm your senior here and one day, I'll be a world-renowned hero! Nice to meet you!"
Din grinned and pointed to his chest with his thumb. Neal, Keith, and I just stared back at him, at a loss for words.
"...What the heck are you talking about?"
"Come on, don't be so cold! At least laugh a little!"
I narrowed my eyes, trying to make sense of this weirdo.
"They only just got here, Din. Of course they're going to be confused by a greeting like that. ...It's nice to meet you three. My name's Oulu. Come talk to us if you're ever in trouble, okay?"
We were taken aback by Oulu's bright, gentle smile.
Even in a situation like this, Din and Oulu's smiles felt genuine.
"Well, anyway, we're gonna be friends from now on! You might be worried right now, but just relax! Oulu and I are here for you! We won't let anyone die, promise!"
It was just for a moment, but I was certain.
Seeing them reminded me of my big brothers, of when all five of us were together.
The prison felt suffocating, filled to the brim with kids with the same awful luck as us.
But even so, Din and Oulu always spread hope to those around them.
"Guess what, guys? We found a case full of preserved food while we were out scouting! The guards haven't noticed yet. Let's split it up while we can! Gather round, everyone!"
The two of them always seemed to be having fun; it was hard to believe they were in the same situation as us.
At first, I thought they were pretty annoying.
"Here, you three. Have an extra, on me."
Din secretly shared some of his food with us.
"But that's yours. ...What's your angle?"
"Truth is, I've got a huge stomachache. If I eat any more, I might just keel over. Trust me, you'd be doing me a favor. In fact, I'm turning in early."
"I don't feel so good, either. Would you mind helping me out, too? Good night."
And with that, both of them pushed their food onto us and quickly went to bed.
"Din and Oulu... They're a lot like Saul and Rhys."
"Yeah... I don't know why, but when they're around, I don't worry as much."
When I turned, I could see Keith and Neal smiling for the first time in a long time.
"Yeah... I mean, whatever! They're nothing like Saul and Rhys!"
How would we survive today? What would happen tomorrow? For a while, things like that had become the only things we could talk about.
But before we knew it, we were once again laughing over meaningless things.
Even after AGE training began in full force, Din and Oulu still looked out for us.
"Zeke, your God Arc is the Boost Hammer. There's a trick to transforming it, okay?"
The two of them knew a lot about handling God Arcs, and they enthusiastically instructed new AGEs.
"Whoa, it works so well now... You don't use a Boost Hammer; how do you know how they work?"
"Our parents worked for Fenrir. We've heard lots about all types of God Arcs and seen tons of experiments. This is nothing!"
"So cool... Oulu aside, I didn't think you were that smart, Din."
"You little—! Say that again, I dare you!"
"Ahahaha!"
"Knock it off, you brats! You're supposed to be training; quit making such a ruckus!"
"Shut up. You're the one making a ruckus, you old fart!"
"W-What did you just say?!"
Sometimes, I got dragged into trouble and punished, too... but it was still pretty fun.
Before we knew it, the cheery atmosphere Din and Oulu created became a driving force that made us accept each other as friends.
Ever since my brothers died, there had been a void in my heart.
It was kinda ironic. No matter how hard we tried, the three of us brothers could never fill that void because we all had the same wounds. Instead, it was filled here, in a cold, dark prison.
I felt like I could finally understand the power of the connections between people.
Maybe coming here wasn't such a bad thing after all.
The longer I spent in this cell with my friends and family, the more I began to feel that way.
Then, one day...
"Alright, everyone, listen up. Thanks to Keith's hard work, we've finally got these radios working."
In the middle of the night, while the guards were asleep, a strategy meeting was held in our cell.
Seeing Keith tinker away, day after day, I never would've thought he'd been working on repairing radios for Din and Oulu.
"We'll get these over to AGEs in other blocks. Then... for the sake of our dream, all of us in this Port will work together to start a rebellion!"
Murmurs spread throughout the cell.
"Your dream?"
"That's right. We're going to build a place where everyone's dreams can come true! That's our dream."
Such powerful words and eyes full of passion. It made me tremble.
"Everyone here's had something taken from them unjustly. So, we'll work together to take it all back!"
"A place where people can reach out to each other and support one another, where we can encourage each other's dreams and wills... That's the kind of place we want to build. A place where everyone can feel safe and be a family."
The two of them described such an incredible dream. Their words reminded me of the dream my brothers and I had given up on without realizing it.
A place where us brothers could live together in peace.
I honestly believed these two could take us there.
"But Oulu and I can't do it alone. Everyone... will you help us?"
It was the first time I'd ever seen the insolent Din ask for help.
We didn't even need time to think about it. Everyone in the cell was smiling, confident looks on their faces.
"Of course we will! Din, Oulu, let's make our dream come true!"
I was the first to speak up. The biggest smile on my face, I offered up my support for their dream.
The courage to trust others—something I never thought I had.
I finally understood that the qualifications to wield the strongest weapon were something you had to be given.
"...Heh. Thanks, Zeke."
"Thank you, everyone. Together... we'll seize our freedom!"
In the darkness, our hope spread.
Keith, and even Neal, who hated conflict—their eyes shined with hope and anticipation.
Our dream as brothers would connect with Din and Oulu's, becoming even brighter, and lead us into the future.
This was where it would all begin. Of that, I was certain.
And so...
There was no way I could accept that Din and Oulu had been killed in battle.

10x5 Tandem Axle vs. 14x7 Flat Top Trailer- Choosing the Right One for You
Transporting goods? Selecting the appropriate trailer is essential for a seamless and secure travel. The 14x7 flat top trailer and the 10x5 tandem axle are two common choices. Which one, nevertheless, is ideal for you? Let's analyze their salient characteristics to aid in your decision.
Tumblr media
The 10x5 Tandem Axle: Maneuverable Might
Size Matters: At 10 feet wide and 5 feet long, the 10x5 tandem axle trailer offers a good balance of capacity and maneuverability. It's narrower than the 14x7, making it easier to navigate tight spaces and handle turns.
Double the Axles, Double the Brawn: Unlike single-axle trailers, tandems have two sets of wheels. This distributes weight more evenly, allowing them to carry heavier loads (typically around 2,000kg) with better stability.
Versatility is Key: The 10x5's size makes it a great all-rounder. Haul furniture, landscaping equipment, building materials, or even motorcycles. You can also add stake pockets or a cage for additional security.
The 14x7 Flat Top Trailer: Spacious Strength
Size Reigns Supreme: At 14 feet wide and 7 feet long, the 14x7 boasts a significantly larger deck space. This translates to a higher cargo capacity, perfect for hauling bulky items like pallets, machinery, or large quantities of loose materials.
Flat Top Freedom: The flat top design offers unobstructed loading and unloading. You won't have walls to contend with, making it ideal for oversized cargo that wouldn't fit in a box trailer.
Stability for Heavier Hauls: The wider frame and increased axle distance contribute to superior stability, especially when carrying heavier loads (often exceeding 4,000kg).
Making the Choice
Consider these factors to pick your perfect trailer:
Cargo Size and Weight: What will you be hauling? If it's bulky or heavy, the 14x7 might be ideal. For smaller loads, the 10x5 offers good capacity with better maneuverability.
Towing Vehicle: What are you towing with? Ensure your vehicle has the towing capacity to handle the chosen trailer's weight.
Maneuverability Needs: Do you need to navigate tight spaces or sharp turns? The 10x5 shines here. If space isn't a concern, the 14x7 offers a larger deck.
Ultimately, the best trailer depends on your specific needs. By understanding the strengths of each option, you can make an informed decision and hit the road with confidence!

Thoughts on Season 30 Essence 3
The Prologue begins by saying to the audience “Once upon a time … Where did this happen? Outside, or within?” and later on “Where is the stage: outside or within?”. Sangria’s description “The distorted opening hints at the truth—Is this a magnificent stage or an icy cage?” In the original opera, the setting was essentially within Bluebeard’s soul, or “within”. Here, Sangria is implying that “cage” is the correct answer, as we see from the state of the previous leading actresses Judith finds. Sangria’s role seems to represent the original opera’s prologue, as well as the darkness at the start and end of the opera, especially as she is the one we see at the end of the trailer closing the door Bluebeard is in after the actresses escape.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Judith’s description includes “A heroic musketeer was never needed in her script”. This is a reference to the original Bluebeard fairy tale.
Tumblr media
In the original, Bluebeard’s newest wife originally repelled by his beard but decides to marry due to his wealth) curiosity leads her to opening the 1 door she was told not to, where she finds the dead bodies of Bluebeard’s previous wives. She’s unable to hide this fact as the key she used was now stained with blood she was unable to clean off, and when Bluebeard finds out, he promises to kill her, but she manages to delay it temporarily. She uses this time to tell her sister (the main character was the younger of the 2) and ask her to look out for their brothers and signal them for help. Before the girl can be killed, her brothers, described as “musketeers” in some versions, arrive and kill Bluebeard, saving her.
Tumblr media
Unlike in the original tale, in canon, Perfumer aka Chloe killed her sister, and so she wouldn’t have anyone to come to her aid. More ironic is how her sister, the real Vera, actually had been trying to help Chloe, but Chloe thought she was being betrayed. Chloe pretends to be “Vera” from then on, but later does realize her tragic error, though it’s too late by then. Her life is much better than it was before, and despite her guilt, she is also unwilling to give up being “Vera”. Vera wants to escape her guilt (rather than atone) by making herself forget. As we see in her 1st letter, she is trying to prove that she can be fine on her own, similar to how Judith in this essence states she has no need for anyone to rescue her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With Duke Bluebeard, it mentions building “thicker walls”. In the opera, Judith is essentially the one breaking down his walls, as the story does take place “within” his soul.
Tumblr media
(Murro even mentions only having 1 toy and walls in his 1st deduction.)
Tumblr media
Up until at least door 5, Bluebeard is actually encouraging Judith to open the doors. And up until door 5, more and more light enters the castle, as the initial reason Judith says she wants to open the doors is because the castle is dark and she wants to let in some light. Upon opening door 5, that is when the most light appears, with it being almost blinding in intensity. But for door 6 and door 7, Bluebeard tells her not to open it, and when opening door 6, only darkness pours out, though door 7 isn’t as dark, as “pale moonlight” streams out. The contents of doors 1-5 are covered in blood, while the 6th contains a lake of tears and 7 contains Bluebeard’s previous wives.
Bluebeard in the original story killed his previous wives, and in the opera they were a memory/mental image he kept of them, like a trophy, as they still left an influence on him and thus a mark was left in his mind.
This seems to be an accurate interpretation considering in the Season 30 Essence 3 trailer, Bluebeard tells Judith to “become an eternal treasure of mine”.
Tumblr media
Speaking of the trailer, this essence seems to be a combination of both the original Bluebeard story and the opera. At the start Bluebeard seems to be about to leave Judith and he tells her specifically not to open the 7th door, which lines up with the original Bluebeard story, as does all the riches and wealth she finds behind doors 1-6 with what we see Judith finding in the trailer. The introduction for the play given by Sangria, as well as the Murro ending in alone in the darkness, the use of the name “Judith”, and in a way the fact she finds the previous leading actresses “alive” lines up with the opera’s story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unlike Bluebeard, Murro has done nothing similarly evil, so it is more likely the memories behind each door and the mental image of the previous wives are more of the pain in his past as well as the loss of everyone after the tragedy and after game 8.
Tumblr media
At door 5, Bluebeard proudly presents his country, though Judith notices blood colored clouds passing over it. Considering Murro’s backstory, this may parallel Hullabaloo circus itself before the tragedy, with doors 1-4 (which contained a torture chamber, armory, treasury, and a garden) potentially relating to the pain Murro suffered under Bernard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hullabaloo on the outside seemed like a great place, just like Bluebeard’s lands, but also just like the blood red clouds Judith sees, Hullabaloo held a darkness not everyone noticed until too late. Even Mike in his 4th letter states “It took that incident to make me realize that this so-called family of ours is no better than a stinking sewer. Only after tearing apart the veil on it was I able to realize that it was infested with mediocrity, jealousy, and blood”.
Tumblr media
That could also be a good connection to the “lake of tears” behind door 6.
Finally with door 7, this could in part tie into Murro’s “loneliness”, which he references in his 4th letter: “Everyone is gone. If I too die here, please bury me with my friends. At least I won't be too lonely then”. Even with how he refers to the 2 previous actresses as “treasures” could reference how even Murro still somewhat cared for his memories with Mike and Joker, as he says in his 4th letter (after game 8 has finished): “Yes, if only it was a nightmare. I would rather be jolted awake by Bernard's whistle while he gazes at me with a boar on a leash, and Mike is busy bickering with Joker while practicing juggling”. But just like Bluebeard being left alone in the darkness when everyone escapes, Murro is left all alone, after both the tragedy and especially after game 8 when everyone dies, to the point Murro begs for death because “everyone is gone”. He just asks that he be “[buried] with my friends”.
Tumblr media
I also find it ironic that Murro is the 1 trapped at Hullabaloo by Bernard and the 1 who wanted to escape from the circus and suffered under Bernard yet he is playing the role of Bluebeard, while Perfumer aka Chloe who killed her own sister aka Vera after she suspects Vera betrayed her is playing Judith (similar to Bluebeard in the original story killing the wives when he learns of their essential “betrayal” when they open the door he tells them not to).
Regarding Demi and Fiona as the previous actresses paralleling Bluebeard's previous wives, their descriptions mentioning being in this land "forever" relates to how in the opera Bluebeard says that dawn, night, etc.. are their's forever (he found 1 at daybreak, 1 at noon, 1 at evening, and Judith at night, and each essentially represents those, though in the essence there's only 2 rather than 3 previous women).
Forever is a reference to them being mere memories, as no one can actually live forever, which is another reference to the opera taking place "within" aka the soul, though in the essence they "slumber" eternally.
And just like the descriptions, in the opera Bluebeard describes his previous wives as overwhelmingly beautiful, which again goes back to the idea that he's kept an ideal mental image of each of them at their peak.
As for the others, Servais is a detective brought here by a "ticket" holding "clues", a ticket that likely came from Bonbon considering its description mentions sometimes "secrets slip out". Servais seeking the "truth" reminds me of Judith in the original opera opening all the doors due to her curiosity and the same desire to "inch closer to the truth". Of course, Servais here parallels how he came to the manor after Murro's disappearance, as him being tasked to find Murro is just like his role as detective, except in this essence he is likely here due to the disappearances of the previous actresses (compared to him arriving due to Murro’s disappearance).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Philip as a "Harsh Critic" implies unlike others he is less enthused about the play. His opinion about "beauty" is likely a reference to his belief in physiognomy (he may see them captured women, with how they're described as that beautiful, as being innocent like his sister?)

Exploring The Diverse Range Of Plant Trailers In Melbourne
Plant trailers play a pivotal role in the construction, landscaping, and agriculture industries in Melbourne, serving as reliable carriers for transporting heavy machinery, equipment, and plant materials. These trailers come in various types, each designed to cater to specific hauling needs. In this blog, we'll delve into the diverse range of plant trailers available in Melbourne.
1. Flatbed Plant Trailers:
Flatbed trailers are versatile and commonly used for transporting various types of machinery, equipment, or materials. These trailers offer a flat loading surface without sidewalls, providing ample space to accommodate different sizes and shapes of loads. They're ideal for carrying excavators, skid steers, or bulk materials like pallets, timber, and landscaping supplies.
2. Tilt Plant Trailers:
Tilt trailers feature a hydraulic tilting mechanism, allowing easy loading and unloading of machinery or equipment. With the press of a button, the trailer bed tilts, facilitating safe and efficient loading without the need for ramps. These trailers are particularly useful for transporting vehicles, small tractors, or machinery that require easy maneuverability.
3. Low Loader Plant Trailers:
Low loader trailers are specifically designed with a low deck height to accommodate taller equipment or machinery. They offer easy access and loading for oversized or taller items like forklifts, scissor lifts, or other heavy machinery. The lowered deck height ensures stability and safer transportation of taller loads.
4. Multi-axle Plant Trailers:
Multi-axle trailers are equipped with multiple axles to distribute weight more evenly across the trailer, enhancing stability and load-bearing capacity. These trailers are suitable for transporting heavier machinery or equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, or larger agricultural machinery. They offer better weight distribution and balance while on the road.
5. Caged Plant Trailers:
Caged trailers feature high sides or removable mesh panels, providing additional security and containment for transported materials. These trailers are commonly used for hauling landscaping materials, green waste, or smaller machinery like lawnmowers or small tractors. The caged design prevents items from shifting during transit.
6. Customized Plant Trailers:
Manufacturers often offer customized trailers tailored to specific needs. These trailers can be modified with additional features like toolboxes, winches, ramps, or special tie-down points to accommodate unique hauling requirements. Customizations ensure the trailer meets individual preferences and industry-specific demands.
7. Enclosed Plant Trailers:
Enclosed trailers offer protection from weather elements and theft, making them suitable for transporting sensitive equipment, tools, or smaller machinery. These trailers come with a roof and enclosed sides, providing security and weatherproofing for items being transported, making them ideal for tradespeople or contractors needing secure storage on-site.
8. Specialized Plant Trailers:
Some trailers are designed for specific purposes, such as hydraulic trailers for transporting specialized machinery requiring controlled tilting or tipping mechanisms. Additionally, trailers equipped with hydraulic brakes, LED lighting, or other advanced features cater to specialized needs and safety requirements.
Melbourne boasts a diverse market of plant trailers catering to various industries and transportation needs. Understanding the different types available allows buyers to select the most suitable trailer for their specific requirements, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of machinery, equipment, or materials across the bustling city and its surrounding areas.

Weeks Stymies Former Team in 4-1 Indy Win
Tumblr media
On Friday night, the Wheeling Nailers ran into a hot hand, who they used to call their own. Indy Fuel goaltender Mitchell Weeks faced his former team for the first time, and had great success, as he stopped 27 of 28 shots, leading Indy to a 4-1 home win at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. The Fuel scored twice in the first period and never looked back, while Cédric Desruisseaux netted the lone marker for Wheeling. The Fuel jumped out to a 2-0 lead, thanks to a pair of perfectly placed wrist shots. The first marker came during some 4-on-4 action at the 7:15 mark. Andrew Bellant curved into the left circle, and despite being on his off wing, turned and sniped a wrist shot just under the crossbar. Indy added to its advantage 4:44 later with a goal off the rush. Bellant slid a pass into the slot for trailer Anthony Firriolo, who skated between the hash marks, and shelved a wrist shot into the top-right corner. Both teams found the back of the net once in the middle frame, and it started with the third Fuel strike of the net just 1:40 into the period. Ryan Gagnier dropped a pass into the right circle for Zach Jordan, who got enough mustard on his one-timer to squeeze the puck through Michael McNiven's legs and in over the goal line. The Nailers got on the board with 6:08 remaining courtesy of a shorthanded tally, as Cédric Desruisseaux zipped a wrist shot into the top-right corner of the cage. Wheeling had every intention of trimming its deficit in the third period, as the visitors recorded the first 12 shots of the stanza. However, Mitchell Weeks had an answer each time, and Indy's Seamus Malone finished off his team's 4-1 win with an empty net goal. Mitchell Weeks turned in a stellar performance for the Fuel, as he turned aside 27 of the 28 shots he faced in the victory. Michael McNiven made 14 saves on 17 shots for Wheeling. The Nailers will wrap up their road week on Sunday afternoon, when they visit the Fort Wayne Komets at 5:00. Wheeling will be home for three games next week, starting with Thanksgiving Eve on Wednesday at 7:10 against Toledo. That night will feature live IWC Wrestling, Turkey Bowling, $2 Beer Specials, and a Twisted Tea Special. First Responders Night is later that week on Saturday, November 25th, which will feature the Guns vs. Hoses Game following the Nailers match against Iowa at 7:10. The next Big Six game is Wheeling Wonderland on Saturday, December 9th. Season memberships and other terrific ticket plans for the 2023-24 season are available now by calling (304) 234-GOAL. The Wheeling Nailers, considered one of the top things to do in Wheeling, West Virginia, provide affordable family entertainment for fans throughout the Ohio Valley. Read the full article
